We came in hoping to satisfy a sushi craving, and while we left full, we also left with a pretty funny story. First, our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. I asked what type of tuna they use for the sashimi, and she admitted she wasn't sure, but she happily went to the kitchen to find out for me. She came back with the answer, "Osaka sushi grade," which made me smile because that's not actually a type of tuna. I genuinely appreciated that she asked instead of trying to make something up. The sashimi itself wasn't bad, just surprisingly bland. The rolls were also pretty underwhelming. Looking back at the menu, the limited sushi selection probably should have told me that sushi isn't really the star of the show here. If you're coming for hibachi, you'll probably have a completely different experience. If you're a sushi enthusiast who gets excited about albacore, specialty nigiri, or asking what species of tuna you're eating... you'll probably understand why I laughed at "Osaka sushi grade." read more

First time here and fell in love with this place! The wait staff were just sweethearts. The dining room very pleasant and comfortable. We got the calamari for a starter - some time I might order two of those for my meal! Delish!! We went for sushi and were not disappointed. The best I've ever had. Came here for lunch the other day for lunch and tried out their hibachi. Was absolutely amazing and a great dollar per value experience. The food was fresh and hot as expected. Only negative thing was the steak was a little over cooked for my preference but, I'm sure they just do it for everyone since they didn't ask how I like my steak cooked. Food is bland. I ordered the hibachi steak, rice and sweet carrots. The steak was tender but it hardly had flavor. The rice was the same way. Carrots were good and so was the spring roll. Staff (owner) isn't friendly at all. The atmosphere is nice. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. It was the second time there. There won't be a third time. I miss Atami Express. We were a table of four and we all ordered the same thing; the Filet Entree (Med Rare). It was cooked with mushrooms and served with rice and carrots. Everything was delicious and very well flavored/seasoned... yes even the carrots!! All was cooked perfectly. The server Emma was amazing as always and Crystal, the owner, is always very sweet and welcoming when you walk in. Definitely recommend Yoshi's!! Check 'em out if you haven't already. read more

Spicy tuna just tuna w scallions and spicy on rice sriracha on top no spicy mayo. Good and spicy. Not what one expects with spicy tuna. Soft shelled crab maki too heavy. Spicy mayo lettuce rice fish sauce. Tempura thick and a little greasy. Too much rice. Green tea just bag and hot water. I think sencha. This place doesn't deserve one star. It doesn't deserve five, but, come on LOOK WHERE YOU ARE. It's helps I wasn't expecting NYC Chinatown food but still. Totally edible. Not the best. FAR from the worst. read more

The first time we went there we were disappointed that they didn't cook at the table, but the food was good. We went last night and both of our dishes were over cooked - chicken and beef. Maybe the chef needs to use an instant read thermometer and ask how someone wants the steak cooked. Otherwise it tasted good and they give generous portions. We would prefer something like zucchini over sweet carrots though. read more

This is the first one "star" I have giving. Have eaten here several times (Because we were starving and it was convenient). The food has very little flavor and unremarkable! The "Last" time we ate here my fiancé became deathly ill from the chicken and we have not and will not go back. read more

The food is great here. People need to remember they are in Seneca, SC. Even saying that-my two teenage boys insist we go every time we come up to the lake for a visit from Atlanta. I wish we had a casual place with their quality closer to home. Make sure to try the seafood sauce-my boys crave it. I think the flounder is awesome and my boys love to upgrade to the filet. We have never had a bad meal here. The owners are always there and are wonderful people that will always try to make your visit the best they can. If your kids stand at the window to the kitchen when not too busy, Yoshi will put on a hibachi show. Oh btw-no MSG on anything. read more

Best sushi I have found in Seneca, with good service and delightful owners to boot. Yoshi Roll and Honeymoon Roll (add avocado) are excellent -- perfectly sized and always fresh. The shrimp sauce and hibachi are very good, too. read more

My son and I ordered carry out but when we got home, we were missing two items. I called back and the hostess was apologetic and said if we came back, she would credit my account. When my son drove all the way back to get the food, the owner said she wouldn't credit my account. Needless to say, we won't be going there again. The food isn't that great either! read more

I wish I could give less than one star. Been here a few times because it's close but the food is nothing special. Last time I was there I barely made it out of the restaurant before throwing up (in the parking lot). Manager or owner came out and talked to me and although she was friendly I was definitely not getting my money back. She was mainly concerned with explaining to me that if I had a problem with the food I should have sent it back. She then offered me a gift certificate which I of course declined because I won't be back to get sick again. Also looks like I'm not the first to get sick here. Avoid at all costs. read more
