This Neighborhood sushi place was quite good overall! All the dishes we ordered were decent. Except one popular dish that almost all Japanese restaurants have it, that is the famous HAMACHI KAMA. But I was really disappointed that they don't offer the daikon paste like every other JP restaurants do! I was shocked they don't do that. So I ended up not ordering this dish! 09/05 HORRIBLE service. rude and unnecessary attitude from our server when we simply asked if we should order now or later for happy hour. mind you, it was just abt 5 minutes until hh started [9pm]. he said "next time just wait outside" and left. he ended up coming back and taking our order right on the dot at 9pm. when the bill came, we saw that they didn't honor happy hour for our orders.. we didn't even bother to complain since they hardly checked up on us. if you're thinking of going here, just get takeout... update- knocking down to 1 star because my boyfriend and i got food poisoning from this place shortly after we got home lol read more

I'm not sure where these 1 star for service reviews are coming from. This place is a gem. The front desk/waiters/waitresses were extremely accommodating. They were such a great group of people. My friends and I both recently had a new baby and this was the first time I had her out. We had 4 adults and 2 strollers. They were super nice and basically gave us the big party corner all to ourselves. Granted, we went between that 2-5PM shift where sushi restaurants are usually closed so obviously it was a little less traffic, but they still were extremely attentive and so sweet. The food is above average. Let's be honest, you're not looking for top tier sushi here. This is a place to get your fix with a wide variety of rolls and appetizers. The Sashimi, mixed tempura, and rolls were all good. If you are looking for a high-end sushi experience, this is not the spot. I don't understand why when a restaurant gets popular, they change so much till it's disappointing . They took away the menu so you have to be glued to your phone to look at the menu . I work all day I don't want to sit down and be staring at a phone. They sushi also taste like they just don't care anymore . Ordered online togo here and the order was ready before the scheduled pick up time. The agedashi tofu was good however I wish that they packed the sauce separately for togo orders. Takoyaki wasn't that great, my family and I thought the batter was too thick. The nigiri was good. They give a large slice of fish and a smaller portion of rice (which I like). read more

Easily Yoshi has become one of my favorite sushi places. I've only ordered take out, so I'm sure eating inside is even better. They have a wide variety of plates, appetizers and sushi rolls. By far this is the best place for sushi. The owners/manager and staff are super nice and friendly. I'm not a big sushi guy but this place is really really good . Coke and check these guys out . If you don't know the servers apparently you just get ignored and another group that came in after you will be seated first. I just came in there with my son and was never acknowledged. No hello or asked how many was in the party, but a group that came after gets a greeting and gets seated because they are known customers. Very good sushi restaurant, quality of the food mostly matches the prices. Worth trying! We ordered some sashimi, maguro, Saba, unagi and the sashimi special was wonderful. The sashimi was very light and extremely fresh tasting. And I ordered the spider hand roll its pretty filing. They stuff them with a lot of fish which is nice. The soft shell crab was def our favorite! At the end we ordered desserts: mochi ice cream (3 flavors: mango, green tea, and strawberry). Our sever was super sweet and we loved the vibes. My boyfriend and I made a reservation for a Sunday evening. The worker in the front seated us right away and gave us menus. It took a while for someone to take our order. We got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento, Hotel California, and the Lion King roll. My bf's food came out first, but mines came out wayyy after his. I even spotted a table that came after us had already received their rolls. Fortunately when the rolls came out, we both enjoyed it and thought it was great. My boyfriend and I love this place! We've come back multiple times -- two nights in a row even. We always have had a good experience ordering the nigiri (esp the salmon). We also like the green tea cheesecake! The service here is on point, fast, and friendly. We like David We've always come during their happy hour around 9pm and it's never too packed. DINER BEWARE!! I'm not sure why this place has such good ratings. I was so excited to see that Sushi Maru (sad it closed and the owner passed) had been replaced with another sushi place! We saw the ratings were pretty great and the photos made the place look yummy so we decided to try it out. My group of 3, which included a toddler, all got food poisoning! Hamachi appetizer: the fish was not fresh, you can begin to taste the fishyness. But the jalapeños were! And boy did they have a nice kick to it. If the fish was fresh, this would have been a killer app. Sushi plate: 8 pieces of nigiri and CA rolls: this is what I believe got us all sick. I took one piece of the CA roll and it tasted like straight sewage. I had to spit it out in my napkin it was so terrible and disgusting. I didn't even have the stomach to eat anything else. The nigiri was OK. Some of the fish was cut with the bloodline so it was kind of fishy. You could tell the fish was not fresh but it was borderline fishy. Teriyaki chicken lunch plate: our toddler had this. They serve with brown rice, salad, and CA rolls. Not sure how the rolls were on this plate but my friend and her son had them from this plate and they got sick from it. The salad was good though ‍ Poke salad: it was OK. Tons of lettuce and maybe 10 pieces of cubed fish. Definitely not worth the cost Service is also super slow. Friendly, but slow. They were also goofing off in the kitchen so you could hear all the inappropriate noises they were making back there. read more

Miso soup - ain't no way you can mess that up... but YOU THOUGHT WRONG! The soup came out and it tasted sour... i just wanna know who squeezed lemon into it. I have some questions... Blue fin tuna nigiri - listen... i ain't mad at the fact you gave me two big slices of tuna. But the ratio of sushi to rice was way off. Yoshi special roll - can we re-name it to the yoshi average roll? You know when you set yourself up to eat a bomb dinner and then you get there and it just aint HITTIN?! The disappointment! We usually frequent Sen Dai in Milpitas. They have a great Salmon Bento box and Chirashi Sushi. The portion sizes are alway plenty and we usually don't finish. Today we tried Yoshi Sushi, the portion sizes and the pieces are small. The fish didn't look as fresh. Same for my Salmon Bento box, it wasn't anything like what I normally get The miso soup is also very salty. I wish this business luck but it's not going to be something we frequent. read more

It's great that Milpitas has a new sushi spot! Ordered their lunch special bento boxes and for 13.99 they give you a lot of variety which includes gyoza, salad, Californian rolls, miso soup, rice and the entree. I really really loved the miso soup here too. I also got some nigiris and the cuts were thick so that's definitely a good sign. Would definitely come back if i want something quick for lunch. read more
