This place took over for Sushi Moru. It has lots of rolls to choose from and ok service. We went in on a Thursday evening and we're seated right away. The music selection was surprising. It was blaring and loud and had explicit language. Not sure they were paying attention to the pandora or serious they chose. We had four people on our party and waited 40 minutes for our rolls. Two out of the six roll orders were California rolls so what took so long, I don't know. We had to ask for water refills and it had no ice in it so the water was Luke warm or room temperature. Yuck. When our bill arrived, we were charged automatic 18% service charge and then on top of that they give you a suggested tip starting at 15%. I am all in for tipping a good tip for awesome service however service was mediocre at best and they already added a "service charge." How presumptive are you!! Four people in a party is not a hardship. Shame on you for conveniently covering our itemized bill with the suggested tip page. Here's your tip up your service and lower your wait time and maybe I'll give you a tip up and over your service charge. Just saying, not planning on returning, I can get a California roll for less at the grocery store next door and not pay your service charge. read more

The original spot we wanted to go to closed at 8pm (that's early for a Saturday). We drove all the way to Milpitas and wanted to make the trip worth it, so I searched up places that were still open. That's when I found Yoshi Sushi. Saw the reviews and we decided to check this place out. Service was great, staff is friendly, and food was delicious. Aside from the rolls, we ordered garlic edamame and seaweed salad as our appetizer - the servings were generous! We will definitely come back to try more from their menu. read more

We ordered takeout of appetizers, sushi and lunch plates. The food was tasty, well-prepared and generous. The only downsides: no dipping sauce with the gyoza included on the lunch plates, and the salad could have used a bit more dressing. Easily corrected and not a big deal, overall. Heard the new restaurant and decided to give it a try. Used to come to the one at the same spot quite often (which was closed down after the owner passed). Good to have a good Japanese restaurant in the area. Arrived at 1 pm Monday. About 2/3 full. Quite easy to be seated. Everything is great/good - food, service, and so on. Smoky Sashimi plate tastes really good, though the cut/thickness of sashimi is a bit unusual. The portion of the food is quite big. read more

Went there for the first time on Sunday after an event. Sat in a little table in a small niche right by the entrance next to two large round tables with patrons already seated. Ordered 6 rolls, three for each of my son and me. The rolls came pretty quickly and the servers were pretty quick to attend to our needs. There were people waiting outside during our meal waiting to pick up food. Nice to know a lot of people are ordering out. The price with tip, tax and food came to $107.00. Not too bad. We didn't order anything out of the ordinary just rolls and water. Didn't realize there was a long sushi bar on one side of the restaurant that no one was using. My son and I could've used the bar due to it being nearer to the sushi chefs and there was more elbow room at the bar(next time). The bar was on your way to the restrooms... The only negative was there was no paper towels in the men's restroom... I liked the fact that the restaurant was clean and the people serving were very "nice"...I liked also that the restaurant was open 7 days a week from 11:00am til 11:30pm!!! I hate it when restaurants close at 2:00-2:30 and reopen at 4:00-5:00 or just open at 5:00 on weekends!!! Thank you Yoshi's!!! read more

This place is a big disappointment ! Between Ichika and Yoshi, we picked the latter based on the number of stars. for 3 of us, we order the Dragon Rolls and the Warrior Rolls, one Bowl of Ramen and one Teriyaki Chicken. which comes with a bowl of Miso soup. Let me just say, that was the worst Miso soup I ever had for as long as I know Japanese food; I think the chef must have forgotten he had put salt in the soup and doubled it down. So salty that it burned my throat and that is no exaggeration. The Teriyaki Chicken was so over-cooked that it actually tasted like it was from the left over from the day before and cooked again. The meat was all dried and chewy. The service was bad. For the entire time during the dinner, no one had asked us if the food was ok. I did not eat the chicken at all because it was so dry. No one came by to refill the water. I will never come back ! Seriously, this place is worse than the previous operator which was also Japanese. Take my word, go somewhere else before falling victim to bad japanese food. 2 star! read more

We ordered the sashimi special, mango crunch roll, and red love roll (with tuna). Unfortunately, the tuna sashimi and tuna were both not very fresh. The manager only gave us $5 off. I have to down grade from 3.85 to 3... 3rd time taking out from Yoshi. Quite disappointed with 5 piece Nigri lunch. Did not like the texture of the fish and 2 pieces smelled really fishy. Also ordered Philadelphia roll (described as fresh salmon skin, cucumber and unagi sauce) and salmon skin roll (described as crispy salmon skin, cucumber and unagi sauce) to compare the two. Philadelphia roll is just salmon, cream cheese and avocado (I do not eat cheese). Traditional Salmon skin roll is supposed to be grilled and charred salmon skin. Theirs is deep fried (I could only taste bad oil). It is pretty obvious this place is not run by Japanese.... food is ok but not authentic. ============ Happy to see someone finally opened a sushi restaurant after the tragic closing of the previous restaurant. Took out a few lunch specials. Highly recommend the 3 roll combo. The place is decorated beautifully and servers were friendly. I would rate the food about 3.85. Rolls are smaller and not as tasty (undercooked rice) as another local sushi restaurant but everything else tasted good. Appreciated the fact that they included miso soup in the take out which the other restaurant does not. Was recommended by a friend who loves this place and it did not disappoint! We were a party of two and we split three different pieces of nigiri and three rolls (lion king, giant and I'm blanking on the last one), the giant roll was my favorite! The lion king had a bit of a stale taste to it but it was still decent. Service was pretty quick and the staff was friendly. The seating wasn't the most comfortable as we were sat on a high top table and the chairs were sort of uncomfortable. I like that they are open late even on Sunday.
