The food was decent - good, the service and atmosphere could be improved quite a bit. I ordered the ramen and it was actually pretty good, not great like some of the other ramen places here in Austin, but worth ordering again. The restaurant is small and extremely loud when all the tables are full. I don't mean a little loud, I mean a lot loud. So loud you can hardly hear the person across the table from you unless they are shouting. The servers rushed us through ordering, and quite surprisingly, came up to our table to let us know that after we paid, we needed to leave so they could turn the table over. We had been there less than an hour in total and had finished paying maybe only 5 to 10 minutes earlier. It was off putting to be asked to leave like that and quite disrespectful to my family. This is the most bland food I've had in Austin. If you want good Japanese food, this isn't the place. I was there with 4 other people and we all ordered different things. None of us were impressed. Two of the people thought the ramen was average and all the rest of the food (fried rice and bento boxes) were so tasteless. My bf & I did a pick-up order for dinner. The order was ready in 20-25 mins. The sushi was great & the fish was fresh. We also ordered milk teas (a strawberry milk tea & a coffee milk tea with boba) so would recommend their drinks. My only complaint is I wasn't a huge fan of the peppered tuna on the tuna amazing roll. But the description does call it out. Overall glad to have a new sushi spot in South Austin. The food is always so good. I haven't had a roll yet that wasn't delicious. When they aren't busy dining if quick, during busy times I will only order takeout. The place is small and can get packed pretty quick especially with the to go crowd. The service could be tweaked a bit but I do like you can order straight from QR code at the table. I really want to love this place and if they tweak a few things I can. I had sushi, the sake salmon and the masago. The salmon and the fish eggs looked and tasted fresh but the sushi rice was warm. That is so off putting. Sushi - none of it - should ever be warm! I noticed a sign behind the sushi bar that says change sushi rice every4 hours. That's good to know but it should be cold! Also, I ordered Chardonnay and it also was warm! I think they need more planning, more prepping. I would really like to come back in a month and give this place a better review. It has potential. This review is not about the food but the horrendous service. As a young restaurant, we knew there would be bumps in the road and have given this place many chances, however the same flaws exist. The service is lacking and twice that I have tried to dine here I was ignored. The first time I chalked it up to being under staffed. The 2nd time with a full staff my party was completely forgotten. After checking in and being told to wait outside 5mins for a table we were never brought back in. However another couple who just parked walked in and were given the next available table. No apology or way of rectifying the situation occurred. The service needs help before I ever think about dining in. I will comeback for takeout but even that service is lacking. Wow. The worst sushi I've ever had in my life. I would rather go to H‑E‑B and buy sushi. The calamari was literally like rubber that you couldn't even bite through, no joke. I went to pick up a to-go order that I had placed online, and had quickly went in to grab my order, while all of the employees were busy, and had forgot to grab/ ask for my boba tea! An employee had ran out to stop me from driving off, because he noticed I did not get my tea even though he was clearly busy w/ another customer. My food was great until I bit into a cigarette butt. I thought it was pork belly initially but I was hit with menthol and something I couldn't chew. I spat it out and it was for sure a cigarette butt that must have been in the broth container (we got to-go ramen.) So gross! I've never had anything like that happen before until today. Finally a sushi place that doesn't have prices through the roof. Although my fiancé and I ordered some basic rolls, they were great quality and very good sized. There was only one server but he was making sure he took care of everyone. Although only one sushi chef was working with a restaurant full of people, we still got our order in a reasonable time. Best ramen and sushi prices for south Austin. I love this place. I ordered a bowl of ramen chicken chasiu with spicy tonkatsu. It was pretty damn good. I had six pieces of nigiri sushi and a takoyaki appetizer big Portion. My bill was $35. The sushi is pretty mediocre like HEB. Ordered take out for my husband and myself. I got the pork belly ramen and he got beef, both were delicious definitely will be back. Take out time was pretty quick about 15 minutes which was perfect since we came from Buda and our food was still hot when we got home. We were coming from a long trip from San Antonio and decided to eat at a Asian restaurant. We looked at the reviews and thought we might be getting some good food to satisfy our long day. However, after we ordered, we waited for an hour and 25 minutes until the server came and said that the food was out and that we needed to order something else. After another 30 minutes, the food came cold and not as good as we thought. The only good food was the rice.
