Just stopped by to pick up a quick bite to eat. This location looks like they did a few improvements to the location. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The food is flavorful and filling. I ordered the regular beef with rice and steam veggies. Don't forget to ask for the red pepper and ginger with your order.

I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to leave this one. I had a craving for Yoshinoya (Just got back from Japan and their Yoshinoya are awesome) and dropped by tonight to pick up a bowl for dinner. I walked into the store and immediately noticed the 2 staff was talking to each other in a very loud volume. Didn't see anyone else in the store (which should have been a sign since it was dinner time), so I thought, whatever. Walked up to the counter and they kept talking loudly to each other. Took the guy a while to walk over to take my order. The entire time, the other lady in the kitchen kept talking loudly and the entire time I was trying to place my order. It was so loud that the guy was having a hard time hearing my order. I had to repeat my order several times, since he kept getting my order wrong. After I finally place my order, their loud conversation continued. During this time, the lady in the kitchen kept talking, but now started coughing and talking during the entire time she was making my food. To put a final touch to my experience, the guy bagged my beef bowl and proceeded to hand me the bag with the beef bowl in it side and I can see all the beef sauce leaking all to the bottom of the bag. He didn't bother acknowledging the issue and just handed me the bag. This has to be one of the worst experience in be had at any fast food place.

I use to come to this Yoshinoya and didn't mind the drive coming from Long Beach. Sad to say I won't be making that drive anymore, the rice was extremely soggy and wet. The food didn't have no flavor even after adding condiments.

After many years of not having Yoshinoya I decided to have their Combo Bowl; Habanero chicken with BBQ Pork. I was very surprised by how much their menu has changed. They haven't a lot more variation than what they used to. The bowl I purchased was okay, the habanero chicken was pretty Spivey but good. I don't recommend if you don't like spicy SPICY food. I order a few items along with my order, including a cheesecake, but the cashier was training and forgot to place my cheesecake in my bag. Ps. Their Yoshinoya Application is pretty cool, and you get a free bowl if you download it.

Nasty. They don't bother cleaning regularly.

Every time I come here, they are out of everything I come for. Last time I came, they were out of ribeye steak. Thus time I came, they are out of Udon noodles. The older lady with the glasses working in the back, cooking food, keeps wiping her mouth and face with her hands and keeps handling the food. The security guard just filled up his personal bottle with soda from the self-serve drink dispenser. I had to park a block away because the parking lot is always full for the neighboring businesses. This location is now nasty and the staff are rude. I suggest visiting a different location. I will never step foot in here, again. I'm over this place.

I love Yoshinoya! It's definitely one of my favorite fast food spots. From my experience, people either love it or hate it, but I have no time for people who hate it. Haha. I've been going to Yoshinoya since I was 5 years old, so going is a bit nostalgic. The classic beef bowl is probably the best thing to order. I ordered a beef bowl with veggies, and they were kind enough to put the veggies in another bowl. This location was fairly clean and the staff were friendly. However, parking may be a bit tough depending on the time.

The first thing I tried was the Sizzling Mushroom Gravy over Crispy Rice; The dish was to die for and my personal favorite thing I tried. I don't even know how to describe how flavorful and well put together the gravy was with mushroom pieces that were perfectly soft and easy to eat. Next was the salad which was so fresh, citrusy, and tasty; It was salty and all the flavors complemented each other so well forming a perfect citrusy salad. After that was the shrimp tempura. It was not too fried/flaky. It was kind of like a taquito. The shrimps flavor was very fresh with a complementary umami flavor. The Sardine Sashimi was super high quality. It was super soft and fatty and ended with a heavy pleasant fishy flavor. The miso grilled cod was great. Not much to say about it was almost creamy and the miso was good. I ate the skin too and it tasted great. The main part of this place is the soba. The kikouchi soba are thicker 100% buckwheat noodles that were very well cooked and pleasant to eat. The Plum "Ume" broth was so refreshing and nice. I ate it cold; I probably would have preferred it hot but the is just a personal preference. The Ginger Pork was great. The pork itself was super gingery without being too pungent. The shredded cabbage was super easy to pick up and eat and the side of noodle salad and miso soup were great complements to the meal. I can tell no corners were cut anywhere and that Otafuku puts a little of effort into every meal they prepare. There is great care for all of the preparations and it was a very special meal. I felt like I was in Japan for a second as the feel of the restaurant is very "homey" and the ambiance is a nice cheerful atmosphere.

Spoon House is known for their Japanese-style pastas, so we got the Japanese-style clam sauce with mushrooms as well as the Japanese-style cod-roe and butter sauce with squid and uni. I was really impressed with how clean the flavors of both pastas were! I ate so much and never felt overwhelmed as I usually do with pastas. The seafood also tasted really fresh and the squid was buttery soft and not chewy or tough. They also have $1 salads which had a tasty, classic Japanese dressing and fresh greens. You just can't find any food for $1 these days, so the $1 pricepoint was really surprising! I also love that they gave a huge serving of bread and butter as an appetizer. The staff was super kind and accommodating, and the restaurant is very cute and retro. They have a small parking lot in the back, as well as easy street parking. Overall, I'm already really looking forward to coming back here and trying more of their dishes. Or getting the same thing because it was just that good!

It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening, but after about a 5-minute wait for a table to be cleaned, we were seated. The space had a lively, casual vibe -- definitely a popular spot for dinner. I love seafood, but I also really wanted to try the katsu, so even though I'm not a big eater, I went with Combo D... which was huge. Honestly, I think it could easily feed two people. The side soup and bread came out almost immediately. The soup was simple but nice with a bit of pepper, and the bread was so good -- warm, soft, and buttery (I had to pace myself knowing what was coming). The pasta was delicious -- the clams weren't overly "clammy" (lol), and the cream sauce was light and not too heavy. The katsu was crispy and satisfying, and the salad added a nice, refreshing balance. Everything worked really well together. I ended up taking a good portion home, and even reheated, it was still just as good! Overall, a great spot with generous portions and solid food. I'd definitely come back and would recommend it to others!

I usually read through the Yelp comments and look at the photos before trying a new place, but this time I only checked the rating -- which was great -- and decided to go based on that and the FB post. Looking back, I probably should have read the reviews first. We didn't realize the bento boxes are only available during lunchtime, and we were also surprised to find out they don't have yakitori. Those were two things we were hoping to try. We came with a party and ordered several items, including the Akatsuki Special Hot Pot, which was recommended to us, along with other dishes. The tempura and karaage were definitely the highlights -- both were really good. The rest of the food was okay for our group, but unfortunately it didn't really satisfy our craving or stand out the way we were hoping. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I think the biggest thing was that our expectations were set by what we saw on FB, and the items that caught our attention weren't available when we visited. I would recommend checking their current menu before going so you know what to expect. Maybe we'll come back another time to try their lunch menu and explore more of what they offer.
