I've found that the stylist in the suburbs take their clientele for granted because they know the only option is to go to the city which is not ideal. Suburban stylist overbook and under-style. In comes Ranee at Kerent (she's the owner). Her salon is elegant and provides an extremely relaxing environment. Ranee is a top notch stylist. My hair was absolutely stunning when I left the shop (wash, cut, and style) and was easy to maintain. I wear my hair in a short pixie type style and sometimes go conservative with my styling or bold (spikes/mohawk). Here is the best part, my appointment was at 4pm, my hair was started at 4:08 (I was 5 minutes late), and I was walking out the shop at 5:50. I have found my new stylist!!!

My sister scheduled my appointment months in advance, she lives in TN. Cristi used to frequent this salon, back when she lived in IL. I live in WI and honestly just thought my sister would end up doing my hair. She made appointments for us and requested the best person, to do my hair, for my special day. I rarely do anything with my hair. I didn't even have a picture to show, or anything special to suggest. I just told Maddie do whatever you think will look good. I really wanted to utilize my long hair somehow and put up the sides. I brought special rhinestone barrettes that she placed in the back of my hair. The salon was so wonderful they gifted me the best keychain with a ring attached to it, it's beautiful and will hold my car keys. I also loved how the music playing in the background. It was all wedding songs while I was getting my hair done. It brought such a smile to my face and was so thoughtful. My first dance at my wedding was even played, At Last by Etta James. That was pure coincidence since they didn't know that. We also had fake eyelashes put on too and that was absolutely something I will do again. She was patient, kind and had a vision for my hair. Before I met Theodora, I was having a hard time finding a hair stylist that would do onsite for my wedding. She not only came onsite to do all my bridesmaids and myself she came on time and ready. Theodora had a created a timeline for each girl getting her hair done. LOL. However, luckily for me (and you all), she was recommended to me, and I feel it's only right to pay it forward...... Theodora has now served as my hairstylist for BOTH routine hair care (i.e. highlights, haircut) and bridal hairstyling for my big day. Routine Hair Care: Theodora always uses Redken bleach (for those curious gurus out there) for coloring, including for my full head of blonde highlights. She also does my layered haircuts. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten (including from random strangers on Michigan Avenue) ever since she's been doing my hair. The icing on the cake? It all was $95 and took two hours. UNBELIEVABLE. She does charge an extra $5-$10 for a blowdry depending on the type of hair you have. She also does a deep conditioning treatment (DIVINE!) for about $5. All her prices are extremely reasonable. Bridal Hairstyling: She offered a very affordable trial ($50) and was extremely flexible about meeting times. On the day of the wedding, Theodora showed up 15 minutes early. Yes, she travels to you! I cannot tell you how invaluable this service is on a hectic wedding day. She did blow-outs for both Moms and low chignons for the 4 bridesmaids. She also did a half up-do with curls for myself. It took her about 4 hours total to do all 7 of our heads. The hairstyles lasted all day and night and even through the following day for myself. The icing on the cake? It was all $450 total. Theodora is an extremely great listener and fully "gets" your ideas. Her real talent is taking the idea a notch further making your hair look THAT MUCH BETTER. Invaluable, I'm telling you. Everything about Theodora's hairstyling services is perfect. I can't recommend her enough! You won't be disappointed!
