I worked at a gym for 10 years when I was in my twenties, I even opened up the gym @ 8am Saturdays and Sundays Morning, so I know what it entails to run and manage a gym. I have been a member of the youfit on Coral Way and 87th for about 4 years and sorry to say besides some nice machines, it's really poorly run. The gym is always unracked because they hire staff that can't rack weights without getting hurt. On the weekend, it tends to open up late. I get up to be there at 8am when it opens and my two experiences in 4 years has been - either the gym is a mess, or the gym is not opened. When it's not open I go to the gym on Flagler and 82nd Ave. This location that gym is clean. It is not large in size, but it is always racked and equipment doesn't need repairs. I know members at the Coral Way gym are fed up and will leave the gym soon if things don't change; I will join them. One thing Youfit is good at, is charging that monthly due. Unfortunately, you don't put as much interest in running the business. If you are going to hire front desk personnel that can't rerack at the end of the night, you have to get the trainers that are there to do it. The trainer's half the time are sitting down anyway. When they aren't training someone make them go around one time and re rack the weights, that way at end of the night it's not a huge mess and it becomes easier for the night staff to maintain the gym. read more

I went last month to cancel they claim they couldnt and gave me a number to call. After I called the person said it was done but 2 days later I received an email that cancellation was not into effect until I paid a 30 cancellation fee. I went back to the gym to pay it and nope they said I had to call customer service again. They lie to you on the phone and make it so hard for you to cancel. read more

Empezamos el gym nos atendieron muy bien Alejandro nos dios una clase gratis nos gustó y nos ofreció el plan de entero que incluiría (1 clase presencial en la semana y el resto de días nos darían un plan de entrono y nutrición)accedimos y firmamos todo , al otro día nos asignó otro entrenador (Aldo ) nos sorprendió porque creíamos que seguiríamos con el mismo ,(ya que el servicio de él fue lo q nos llevó a querer coger un entrenador)pero bueno nos pareció bien empezamos con Aldo buen entrenador , la primera incomodidad las clases no eran por 1h eran 30min casi , luego nunca sucedió lo del plan de entreno ni el de nutrición ,se nos acabó las 4 clases presenciales del mes que empezamos y Aldo le comenta a mi amiga que había una oferta ella le dijo que me diría a mí para darle una respuesta y al otro día lo vimos en el gym y le dijimos que no íbamos a seguro pagando que no podíamos. Primero error de ellos si Aldo que es quien nos estaba atendiendo y la persona que él designó q entrenarnos le decimos esto y no está capacitada para cancelar esto él nos debió decir okay vallan a la recepción o vallan a ver Alejandro y cancelen. En ese momento nos dijo okay. Dimos por hecho que él iba a cancelarlo Nos volvieron a cobrar una semana Después de haber dicho que no podíamos , una semana después que nos vieron diario ir y entrar solas. Si Alejandro es el supervisor de él debe dejarles saber que cuando se habla de cancelación deben decirle que lo ven a él o que vallan a la recepción. Hablé con Aldo y le dije me cobraron de nuevo y entonces me dijo que el de eso no sabe que hablara con Alejandro una semana a después , fuimos hablar con Alejandro y nos dijo que al otro día lo viéramos para ver esto, al otro día fuimos yo y mi amiga hablarlo de la mejor manera y creo que se le fue de las manos trabajo en Costumer Service y los clientes pueden llegar a ser complicados pero hay que tener el carácter y profesionalismo para poder tener tal puesto , en ningún momento ni ofendimos ni hablamos mal ni mal tono explicamos las cosas y se refiero a mi amiga de una forma no adecuada diciendo que "esto no es Cuba que las cosas nos funcionan así" Al final nos cobraron septiembre 26 y nos van a cobrar octubre 26 también y después es que va a quedar cancelada la suscripción.Cosa que no entiendo porque tienen que cobrarme otro mes más al final sabía que ni me iba a reembolsar nada por eso ante esta situación mi actitud fue al de quedarme callada porque al final igual iban hacerme el cobro antes de irnos ya está afuera en la recepción que estaba llena de personas mi amiga regresó al lado de él a preguntarle por las clases que nos hemos estado perdiendo que al final ya nos habían cobrado desde septiembre 26 que si seguirían siendo con Aldo y él le dijo que sí y luego que salimos caminando le grito desde donde estaba parado en frente de todas las personas "que si seguía con esa actitud nunca iba a llegar a anda" Vuelvo y repito para tratar con clientes hay que tener profesionalismo y mucha paciencia creo q eso estuvo muy fuera de lugar las personas hay que respetarlas realmente muy decepcionada y por parte de manager y trabajador muy mala comunicación los dos me caen bien nada personal pero las cosas como son. read more

I've had the opportunity to experience the highest tier and the lowest tier of services that this gym has to offer. So I feel I can truly assess this establishment. I started out with a lime card which is a membership to all their gyms at $30 a month had little motivation but went in from time to time. It's not the cleanest gym, LA fitness is better for machines and for cleanliness, but that's not why I'm writing this review. At the beginning of January I went in and requested personal training services. I was greeted by the athletic director Alex who sold me on a program that met 4 times a week and charged $600/month. I'm paying a premium price because I'm really motivated to try and get fit lose some weight and stay healthy to see if I could survive past 60. First two weeks are great Alex is my personal trainer we're developing a rapport and I entrust him with my health and my body because I am now motivated to be here because he had motivated me He has sold me on the idea (diet/exercise). A no point in time during his pitching strategy or up to the third week that we worked out together was there any inclination or notification that he would be relieving himself of his duties to replace me with much more inferior replacement. I got notified by text message from a stranger that they will now be my trainer and no notification from Alex who I trained with the day before and for previous weeks. The person he was trading me to "shadowed" us for one exercise and during the exercise I asked Alex if he was "shipping me off" to this guy, to which he replied ,"no". Before and I delve into my qualms about honesty and developing a relationship with someone that you do business with especially a personal trainer who is supposed to motivate and you as a client and are supposed to trust, I would like to talk about the price. $600 a month get you four sessions a week for half an hour. There are private gyms in Miami that have personal training and don't cost nearly as much as this. I came to the gym for convenience with the drive and because I was already a member. A corporation cannot have personal touch like a small business can, and a personal trainer can be considered a small business if they work for themselves but unfortunately these individuals work for a company and can treat you like second rate customers because at the end of the day it doesn't affect their pocket compared to the companies. There are much cheaper better options available. Motivation. I had it to get up and walk in I was motivated enough to even pay more than a premium compared to other gyms, and motivated to continue to pay this for years if it changed my life. I was motivated to diet and even motivated to continue to work out, the person that developed this other than myself is my personal trainer. He sold me the idea that together we can make me healthy. From day one I was always honest about how I felt about my health and how important it was to me, but my trainer couldn't be honest with me and tell me that he wasn't going to be my trainer. It may seem petty to some but you need to understand that you're motivated by your trainer because you want to look like your trainer one day because your trainer is in good shape. Your trainer projects a lifestyle that maybe you'd want to be a part of and I bought into that. To receive a text message that I had been transferred to another trainer by the new recruit and not by my trainer himself who I saw the day before was a slap in the face for trust. It really was an unprofessional folly and something that I hope this individual learns from because, Alex is a great trainer, but this let me down and I don't want to give anymore money to this corporate structure that allows personal trainers to not be personal. Honesty is important because I as a fat and unhealthy individual came and honestly said "I need help". I lost that trust and that's why I will be going elsewhere. read more

I been coming to this gym for the past 6 years and today they revoked my membership for no reason at all they told me and i quote " you put your mask down too many times" they didn't give me any warnings or anything. If you are reading this let me tell you this is the worst youfit location you can go to. They have the worst of worts employees they dont help you at all and they are super rude with their members. I would recommend you to go to another gym i think LA Fitness or planet fitness is a much better option If they treat a member of 6 years this way that says a lot about them. When I go to my morning classes every week, the room we are in is always FILTHY. I'm pretty sure they NEVER clean the floors, because there's been times I noticed a hair ball or two that would be in the same spot for weeks. If they don't clean that room ever, how am I supposed to be sure that they will clean anything else? The cleanliness in this place is absolutely just lazy. I've been a member of this gym since december, and the only reason i come here is because: it's close to my house (5 minute drive) and because it's a 24 hour gym. Prior to joining youfit i was a member of 24 hour fitness, another 24 hour gym but was too far so i joined this youfit. I have spoken to some of the staff when i joined and they've told me that the gym acquired the popular gym called ''Porky's'' and once they did they managed to get some other space from nearby stores so they made the new youfit very big, it's by far the largest youfit location per square feet in miami so it's nice. One of the things that turns me off about this place is that they didn't finish renovating the gym, like when they purchased it they just painted it and rushed it to complete it, you can still see signs on top of the walls from the previous stores that were there, they haven't taken it down yet after 2 years!. They also have plenty of space to put more machines but they refuse to add any...that's corporate for you. Towards the back end of the gym you'll see a small bar area, it looked like the previous gym ''Porky's'' had a supplement area in that space to provide customers with shakes and fat burners etc, and it's been empty for 2 years since they purchased the place. Anyways i hope you guys find this review worthy and try this gym out, it'll do the job especially for those people who can come either in the morning, afternoon, night and midnight, the gym is always open and that is a plus. read more

This place is garbage. I had been working out at Porkys for about 3 years and just got really serious about a year and a half ago. When I heard they were being bought out, I was a little miffed but didn't think too much about it. Then came the wonderful changes that their PR guy "Gregory", who we see commenting on these reviews (looking forward to your excuse, big guy) claims is for a "better gym experience". So how is it better that 9 (literally just counted them) of your I think 18 treadmills are out of service? And that's all the time "Gregory". Can you explain that? I have talked to Craig, the Manager multiple times about the simple fact that since they came in, the new members treat the gym like their own living room and leaves all their dumbbells, barbells and plates scattered EVERYWHERE and the employees do nothing about it. BUT they can take their time to complain about someone being too loud. Not to mention the lack of benches and other basic equipment. I saw a guy doing dumbbell rows using the seat of the calf raise machine. Why? Because there isn't enough space or equipment! There is one employee that spends his entire time cleaning the mirrors. During my long work outs, I watched him clean all the mirrors, TWICE! But he wasn't able to organize a single plate stack. It took them 3 months to set up their wifi. How is that creating a better experience Gregory? How does it make any sense to go down from 3 to 2 squat racks and place them on opposite sides of the dumbbell stack? Where am I supposed to dead lift now that you're keeping rolls of God knows what where I used to do legs?! Youfit is just another gym that hides their fees and focuses more on the LOOK and FEEL of the gym than on what they should really be focused on, which is providing a superior space to actually get fit and healthy. The best thing about the gym is that it's open 24/7. Throughout the week I mostly go at 2am so I interact with the night-time staff who are very attentive and nice as opposed to the day time staff who don't even look you in the eye as you walk in. The gym is always disorganized and very dirty. I don't like the fact that they don't have basic equipment like jump ropes or ab roller. The gym membership is cheap, but make sure you are aware of a hidden fee that they withdraw each year before you sign up! read more

Disappointed with Customer Service! This is definitely my favorite gym, always clean, organized and less packed with people than most gyms. But aside from all this their customer service deserves half a star. Most employees (in specific the new ones) are very nice and go by the rules and tend to satisfy every customer. The problem comes from many of the managers. There have been many instances but today May 30, at 12pm i and another member are walking inside the gym. I scan in with my card but the person i was with brought nothing as i was the driver so she left her belongings at her house. Which included her scan card, she attempted to enter with her phone number but they insisted on there was nothing she can do, they said she needed an ID. That was perfect on not an issue until what i believe to be a assistant manager or manager in a black Youfit uniform interfered. With the problem resolved he fit himself into the conversation and insisted on a simple way of resolving an issue. His solution was to remove our memberships as he would encourage multiple times. Instead of explaining at least any reason on why she could not enter with her phone number for a membership she is paying for. He threatened her with as he like to call it a solution by removing her membership and going somewhere else. I embarrassed by the way my favorite gym was treating a friend who i had convinced to accompany me them began to explain that, that is no way to treat a lady and there is no need for such disrespect as we are customers that are just simply dissatisfied. He continued with his charade as there were many female employees around him and he needed to show dominance and alpha image which is simply why he continued to disrespect and did not stop until he believed he had proved himself. I am disgusted with the way this was handled as us Youfit members did not feel welcome. I hope Youfit fixes this occurring issue as it seems as the employed don't care about solving issues they care more about making a scene and causing it. read more

Ok I've got to thank YOUFIT for returning the three HAMMER bench press machines I really don't care that you painted them purple. And looks like the Hack squat machine is still in the same location. Now about a third squat rack and at least one decline bench press... 8/29 removal of Hack Squat machine AND the Standing calf raise machine lol...looking at an endless sea of leg curl and leg ext. and thigh abductor/adductor machines WTF!!! And it was only when I saw two guys curling at the squat racks (who obviously were feeling the increased estrogen level at this once epic gym) to convince me that this was the last straw read more

This club is in desperate need of some updating. The equipment is aging and at any given time, many pieces of equipment are out of service. As an example, one of the pec decks have been broken for at least a month. Also, many members leave their weights and dumbbells scattered all over the floors creating a hazardous condition. I usually train at 3-4 AM and sometimes the staff cleans the mess up and sometimes the staff chooses to nap at the front desk. Nonetheless and with all the cameras, this should be easy to enforce. If members are not returning their weights to the rack, they should be warned and possibly lose their membership. Please management, let's get this club in shape. Thank You. read more

Extremely BAD Ariel, a super sneaky and dishonest sell rep, tells me about a bunch of fees after I have signed up. So, I said I do not want the membership and he promised to cancel next day. Months after, I check my bank account and I have been charged for every month except the 1st. Went to tell them about the mistake, Ariel tells me there is nothing he can do. This place is disgusting. I've been going to Youfit since it took over all the Porky's gyms and I had been with Porky's gym since 1992. I have no complaints about Youfit, everyone is very nice, they have a pretty good gym. I wanted to cancel my membership because I wanted to go to a gym that was hard core, so when I went to cancel I was told there is a $10.00 cancellation fee . I'm like why? I was told it was their policy. Oh well that explains everything, it's their policy so it's ok. The person behind the counter was very nice and so is everyone there, but what a rip off. It's really not the ten dollars it's the fact that for no real reason they want to take something from me. I said to the young man behind the counter, "well if I don't like it there I can always go back". After getting home and thinking about it, it left a bad taste in my mouth, I won't go back for any reason. read more

My 10 list: 1- The entrance to the gym usually smells bad, but what can you expect ... it's a gym and sometimes ventilation is not enough to get rid of the smell. 2- Sometimes homeless people sit in front of the gym entrance; I have nothing against them but I don't feel safe. 3- The bathrooms do not have paper towel dispensers only dryers. I am old fashioned in that sense and I need my paper towel. 4- The lockers and showers appeared okay but the only time I decided to shower, there was no soap in the dispenser. Note to self: Bring own soap or not shower. 5- The staff is okay, they do not say hi enough or bother to know you or even less your name. There is one lady "Aurora" who really goes out of her way to say hi and we have actually talked. They have a daycare... no excuses . 6- The machines are good and I think must of them "Made in USA" . Weight lifters do not re-rack, if you are like me then you will have to put away 4 45 lbs plates in order to do your exercises without weights. Staff should be on top of that.They have a nice set up where you can exercise you whole body in one area of the gym; you are supposed to use each machine for a minute and then go on around the circuit using all available machines. This is good if you are in a rush. 7- The previous gym "Porkys" had a stand where they sold smoothies, protein bars and others; this gym does not have. By the way, for Porky's style kind of gym you can go to Miami Iron Gym at coral way and 97 ave. 8- The membership price is decent and I recommend paying it all at once to avoid contracts. If you get the $20 a month membership you get to go to all locations and bring a guest each time. 9- The gym is located inside a plaza so let's plan my day: 7:30 AM- Arrive at work (in the plaza), 9:45 AM- Walk with coworker around the plaza, 11:00 AM- lunch from one of the many restaurants in the plaza (Pollo Tropical, Sushi mee, subways, Cary's Cafe, La capital de los jugos ... you name it), 1:15 PM - head to You Fit and at 4:30 PM go home happy. And finally item # 10 on my list. 10- Continue on my quest to be the yelper who checks in the most at this place. I hope you read this and understand that a gym is never perfect, the staff is never perfect but when it comes to fitness most of this shouldn't matter ... I want to begin by saying that I used to go to this place since back in the good ol' days when it used to be Porky's. I made the mistake of staying when Youfit took over. So today I went to borrow the dip belt, the same broken old belt that I have always been borrowing and that has been there since 2006 when I first went to Porky's. This time I was greeted with a "I am going to need collateral." from one of the employees. At this point I am wondering; am I borrowing a belt from a gym employee or am I borrowing money from a loan shark? So I asked him why the collateral to what he replied "I don't want people stealing my stuff." So by this point in the conversation I am someone who is going to steal a worn out belt which I have borrowed every time since my time at Porky's. Also, at that point I was faced with the decision of either give my driver's license to a random stranger and complete my workout or break my workout routine (not a choice I expect to make when I go to a gym). Thinking that my license will at least be kept in a safe place, and because I needed to continue my workout I decided to give him my license. He then leaves my license in the counter and walks away. I complete my workout and return for my license and decide to question him with regards to this "collateral" business and this is how it went: Me: "Can I see the Youfit gym policy so I can find where it says that I need to give collateral to borrow gym equipment?" Adrian Guitian: "It's not part of the Youfit gym policy it is one of our rules." Me: "Ok... can I see where these rules are written?" Adrian Guitian: "They are not written anywhere." Me: "Ok... can you give me the number to corporate so I can talk to someone in charge?." He goes ahead and writes the following number : 305-222-1992 and follows with: Adrian Guitian: "When you call make sure you spell my name right." So before I leave the gym I decide to dial that number, and it turned out to be the phone number to the same gym I was at, and guess who answers, Adrian Guitian. By now this is just insulting. So I walk to him. Me: "I asked you for the corporate number." Adrian Guitian: "There is no corporate number." Me: "Alright, give me the number to your manager." Adrian Guitian:" That's the only number. If you want to talk to him you have to call when he is in." Me: "So there is no other number I can reach him?" Adrian Guitian: "I am not going to give you his cell phone number." By this point things are going nowhere so we get into a back and forth and he finishes by waving at me, smirking and rudely saying "Talk to my manager." And I am thinking, that's what I have been trying to do... Back when this used to be Porky's the staff was great and the environment was perfect for working out. Now, that is no longer the case. Came here for the first time on Saturday around 10:30 pm. This is one of the few youfit locations open 24 hours 7 days a week. It was pretty busy for it being a Saturday night. Like all locations this place was clean. This location is big and they have a lot more machines then the smaller locations. Didn't see any broken machines and the weights were all re racked and organized. The person at the front desk was friendly and even showed me where a machine was that I couldn't find. There's plenty of parking as it's located in a Hugh strip mall. Only issue was that I had trouble getting signal on my phone and radio I use for music. Overall great location. read more

I'm sure my post will be erase but I always say that bad reviews they always walk. I started going to one of this gyms and I got involved in to a trainer program because I felt that I need it some guidelines at the beginning. So I decide to get a 3 month program which I was able to afford at that moment. I have one of this gyms close to my house and I stop going to that one because it's very small so I decide to move to he one at Coral way and 118 that has more space... Now I can't blame the company because I don't know who build it and when you have a bitter or bad experience a lot of time doesn't really comes from corporate" if there is one. At the beginning I was explained "all about the program I was getting involved" and I made a human mistake by not cancelling at the amount of time that I was supposed to so I got charge $420 extra because they said I was told that I need to cancel on time" so I got a little bit upset but at the end I took the hit and stayed with whatever extra sessions they gave me. Now after all this I told them that I don't mind to get charge my monthly membership but I don't wanted to see other 420 charge in my account and what I was told? I got few hands shake a palm in my back and a not to worry because that was not going to happen again"" so I started going normal and 15 days later I ask my trainer to please verify with his manager that my program was cancel and that I can't afford to get charged that amount again. ( I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR, I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY TRAINERS AND I LEARNED I LOT FROM THEM. If I'm upset is because the administration of some businesses locations some time they don't go hand by hand with communication and that affect the a business. Any way I got charged again and they completely F my day because I wasn't expecting to spend that money since I need it to send it to my little girl in my country. I called my bank a reported and so my lawyer and they tried to get on hold with a corporate office but we were getting the same answers from different people that one of this ladies said that she didn't have access to make any changes and the other one at the location keep repeating the policy that they have SERIOUSLY!! There is always a way to return the money because I been there and done that. The bad and good propaganda that can affect some companies is the word of mouth. Communication and honesty keeps everyone safe and happy to work in a good environment. What's sad is that I never got a called back from a GM" or other supervisor to explain or apologize. This you fit crap sucks first they change the gym equipment then they will take out the heavy dumbbells. They say it is insurance purposes but I do not buy it. We sign in contract that states work out at your own risk. I went in the other day and now I can not take my gallon of water and soon no bags allow. I have a small string bag. They say they are making the gym better in what way chasing the member out. Hello, My name is John, I am writing to this gym and updating what I have seen and came back after I put my membership on hold. To begin the Gym has minor changes with only adding vending machine. Nonetheless it's just the same machines that got rearranged. The worst part is the staff, the people there gives a lot of attitude, For Example when they are busy on the phone looking through Social media, the replies when you ask them for help would be "it should be over there" "go look for it yourself or I don't know". This location gets super busy and doesn't always feel the most clean. Best hours are between 1 and 3 PM (or at the ungodly hours of night). Lots of parking available, but the complex is busy so you usually park a good walk away. Equipment is good, but when it's busy good luck trying to interject on a group of 6 guys to get time on a machine. They have more cleaners now, but there's a culture of not putting away weights and not cleaning up your own sweat at this gym. Just wish the staff would regulate the members a bit more so everyone got to experience the gym fully. read more

All I care about is that the gym has the equipment necessary for me to get an effective workout day in and day out and for the most part, this place does it for me. It'd be nice if the Wi-Fi was available but it's not a make or break type of thing for me. read more

This has been my gym through many purchases the latest being Youfit. They started very well but now weeks go by with equipment out of order. It appears it's either the management of this location or Youfit is having difficulties. This was a 24 hour gym now generally it's a 5am to 1am facility. My issue is the equipment not being maintained that not a good sign. read more

I'm a fitness athlete and i usually go at times to you fit but I'm Very disappointed. I took my cousin for the first time to try out the place and the next day I took my aunt as well. The manager that was on the front desk, at that time, was not people friendly and very rude with us. Not to mention, the weights are thrown all around the gym and the environment is as if you were at a hang out spot. My aunt and cousin decided to go some place else and now I'm thinking twice in renewing with you fit. read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I was a long-time member of Porky's (R.I.P.). I had heard about the YouFit takeover, and went to check out the destruction and pay my respects to Porky's with one last REAL workout. While I was there, nostalgia took over my better judgment and I ended up signing up for a membership. Yes, I was wary of all the extra hidden fees (they do not disclose this information until AFTER they have your credit card in their hand and you have already signed several other forms). It was $21 for first, last, and deposit, so I figured it was a small price to pay for the convenience of having a 24 hour gym down the street from my home. How bad could it really be, right? WRONG! I could make this review longer by talking about all the horrible things about the equipment that they took out, but I won't waste your time or put you through any more pain by reiterating what everyone else is saying. Instead, I'll tell you that the rumors about no "meathead" behavior is true. Let's begin by telling you a little about myself. I am 5'3" 128lbs. Well, I was minding my own business, deadlifting (235lbs; not even my max, so I wasn't slamming the plates down), when one of the YouFit staff comes over and asks me to stop being so disruptive (it was noon on a weekday, so the place was virtually empty. Who the hell was even there to complain??? Not to mention the place uses iron plates, so noise is inevitable). He goes on to mention that I was not wearing proper gym attire (yes, I was in jeans; wasn't planning on going to the gym that day, but had a little extra time on my hands, so I stopped by), and that next time I would not be allowed in dressed that way. My question: why the hell does YouFit care what I am wearing as long as I am not naked?!? In a nutshell, I only had to show my face in there 3 times before I received not one, but two "warnings." I haven't been back since. That was over a month ago, so I will also be cancelling the membership. read more
