I can't recommend JuneBug Retro Resort enough as a wedding venue. We got married there in October…read more2025, and from the very beginning, the owner, Charlene, blew us away with her attitude, integrity, and thoroughness. She and the venue were the perfect fit for us. We were looking for a unique venue that celebrated our love of nature and allowed the celebration to continue into the night. Having our guests stay and camp with us in tents and the retro campers made the entire experience even more special. With all the effort and planning that goes into a wedding, one of our priorities was that the celebration didn't feel like it ended too soon. Charlene gave us incredible vendor recommendations and put us at ease countless times with her knowledge and experience. She is a rockstar! She knows how to keep things organized, how to keep everyone on track, and how to advocate for her couples when needed. Charlene, Tom, and the entire JuneBug crew are a well oiled machine that knows how to make your day run smoothly. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful, during our ceremony the creek was flowing behind us and the afternoon sun was filtering through the trees. It was peaceful and magical. There was plenty of space for guests to wander, and endless scenery options for wedding photos. The proximity to Weaverville and Asheville was also such a bonus compared to many other venues that require a longer drive. We felt that JuneBug offered incredible value for the cost. As a bride, the entire experience felt like a dreamy movie. Our original wedding date was scheduled for a week after Hurricane Helene came through, and sadly, we had to postpone. During that incredibly difficult time, Charlene showed her strength and compassion. She was there for us through the entire process of navigating a sudden rescheduling of our wedding. They were dealing with so much of their own recovery, yet they never missed a beat communicating with us and supporting us. They went through so much in the following months to make sure all of their couples still had the weddings they dreamed of. I will forever be grateful for everything they did for us, and JuneBug will always hold a very special place in my heart. You will be so glad you booked this venue!

Our first conversation with Charlene, only further solidified that decision. We wanted to find a location with a unique, adventurous, whimsical-vibe, and could not have found a more perfect place! Not only is Charlene the kindest, sweetest person ever, but she is extremely organized and detail oriented, making the entire planning process smooth from start to finish. It was so reassuring, especially the day-of, to know she had everything handled and I could just be present and enjoy the day. Our guests have been raving about our wedding, saying it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to. Our friends loved staying in the on-site vintage campers. I would choose Junebug over and over again, and highly recommend them to anyone! I cannot say enough positive things about our experience.

We booked our 3-night stay to celebrate our anniversary on Airbnb. Search for the Fairy Tale Cottage in Alexander, NC and tell her Taryn and Ted sent ya! Every little detail of our stay was perfect! The owner, Brookes, is one of the most accommodating hosts I've ever met. She had a fire set for us upon arrival, fresh flowers in the cabin, electric blanket and space heater cranked every night (we got lucky with beautiful weather in the 60's during our visit in February) and the most amazing breakfast delivered to our bed every morning. It's hard to pick a favorite part of our stay, but if pressed, it would likely be the breakfasts. We had blueberry biscuits with maple bacon on day 1, shredded pork with lime crema and a poached egg on ciabatta day 2 and chocolate chip orange zest French toast with sausage on day 3. All with fresh fruit every day. We wanted for nothing during our stay. Seriously. Somehow Brookes has thought of literally everything you might need for a comfortable stay. We wanted to roast marshmallows over the fire. Guess what? She had extendable roasting sticks waiting for us. We didn't want to brave the outdoor shower after dark but needed to freshen up. Never fear! Lavender wipes in the room. I need coffee within 10 minutes of waking up or it's not pretty. We made a fresh pot of what I think was hazelnut coffee in the room with the cleanest mountain water you'll ever taste (from the sink on our porch) every morning. She even had mini moos and sugar to go with it. The cabins have power so there is a hair dryer for the slightly high maintenance. I.E., me. Ted hurt his back and needed some pain relievers. There were even ibuprofens in the room, people! See what I mean? She thought of everything! If looking for unique, peaceful accommodations "off the grid" but still close enough to Asheville to stay busy during the day, look no further than Outlander Glam Camp. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Can't wait to visit again soon and often!

We stayed in one of the tents during October. The nights were chilly but with the electric blanket and the super comfy bed, I had two of the most restful nights sleep that I've had in I don't know when. Do yourself a favor and book a stay with Brookes!

They have gorgeous spots right on the river and I could hear the river as I slept and it was so soothing!! The owners are wonderful people and really want campers to enjoy every aspect of their stay. They came out when we came in to help us back camper in our spot. It's very close to town like 5 min drive but felt out in country. Our spot had a picnic table and fire pit. They have a pretty good size bath house with vending machines and at as use washers and dryers which would be good for long stays! Shower stalls were individual bathrooms for privacy .. updated and very clean. We came before Halloween and it had decor for the holiday.. you could stay in camper, they had cabins, and tepees for unique stay. Most were damaged by storm but will be ready for following year. I thought that was really interesting.. i read reviews from previous years about wifi being terrible but we didn't have that issue. We didn't really spend all day at campground we came to see and spend time in the area so we were only using wifi at night and in morning with coffee. I would highly recommend this campground.. it was a great stay and I hated to leave.
