I took my older Outback in to get oil replaced and headlights wiring checked because they both burned out that the same time. I'm a student attending Weber State, so I mentioned I could leave my car with them while I attended classes that day. After handing my keys over, I wasn't offered a ride by their shuttle service just up the street to campus. No biggie. I walked, got some fresh air. I got a call saying I needed a belt replaced because of mileage. I asked how much, they said around $1500. I reminded I was a college student and didn't have that kind of money. I was challenged with car jargon and fell for the reasons it needed to be done ASAP. I never received a call that it was done. Had to get a ride down there prior to a class and was made to wait in the lobby another half hour, well within earshot of salesmen and Sales Managers discussing customers' info and crudely talking about them. Finally I approached someone and they said it had been done a while ago. Thanks for the communication. After talking to the Service Manager, he told me the lights issues were due to faulty wiring from a headlight replacement in a crash prior to my owning the vehicle. He tried to convince me I needed an actual Subaru headlight installed. I passed on that. Next time it rained, my headlight suspiciously had all sorts of moisture and water getting in there. When I looked into it, found the backing to the headlight hadn't been replaced properly. Every time it rains, moisture is still gathering in there when it never had before. And I will need to have it looked into. I can understand a few things falling between the cracks, but after all these things added up and are continuing to affect my vehicle, I'll never return to Young Subaru. read more

I am new to Ogden, and took my Impreza to Young Subaru because tire pressure warning light kept coming on after air was added. I asked them to check for nails and also had oil change and tire rotation done (which should have made it easy to check for leaks). I was told there were no leaks and no nails on tires. The next day, warning light came on again, so I called and left message asking for a call back...no call back, so I drove down. They again looked at tires and said no problem and added air again. Next day, light came on again, and losing confidence in Young, I took car to local tire shop...two nails were found in my tires. Why couldn't Young find the nails?? Service had my car for over a month only to end up repairing a part of my car that did not solve the issue. Argued with the advisor that their diagnoses did not match to what I was telling them. After receiving my car back after the long wait, the issue persisted like I figured it would. Don't expect service to listen to what you trying to tell them because they will just end up diagnosing your car their own way anyways. After spending multiple hours there and the deals not working for us we then tried to leave which we were then pushed to make a bad purchase because it would benefit them. Went here for an oil change, and wow, I felt like I walked into a used car dealership! -Service person did a walk around of car looking for upsell items -Was asked about rotating tires, a service that at other locations is included, and was billed $18 here -Service person popped the hood, observed some corrosion on the battery and offered to have it cleaned...for $37! You can buy a battery terminal cleaner for $2, or use a wire brush! -Was quoted for synthetic oil when Subaru generally recommends synthetic blend under 100,000 miles, when I commented he said their system just labels it all as synthetic. -An oil change was $73!!! Save yourself the headache, go to LHM on Riverdale, get a threefer including oil changes, tire rotations and car wash for $90, rather than spending $90 for ONE oil change and rotation here, and not even getting a car wash out of it. I felt lied to and cheated, and will never be returning to any Young dealerships or service locations, even if they're basically next door. read more

Purchased a 2019 Ascent with them. Experience started out good, and we settled on a price I was happy with. But by the time we got out of the meeting with the finance department, the price was $4000 higher. High pressure, didn't give me time to compare to other quotes, just assured me additions were worth it and then screwed me over. Then, after paying for all these "extended warranties" and protections, we notice two chips in the windshield the day after we bring it home. When we tell Young, they say "it wasn't on our report" and they can't replace the windshield. When we got it we had to buy news tires, replace the brakes and all the lines were leaking. They told us that we had the tire coverage package. We did not. I was in the market for a new car, specifically, a new Subaru Outback. I had heard a lot of good things about this dealership so I drove a few hours to see their prices and inventory with the intention of trading in my car if things looked great. The selection of cars here is impressive - both new and used. The prices are not anything special. Honestly, they are about the same as every other Subaru dealership in a surrounding 500 mile radius. So, taking time off work to drive to this dealership was already proving to be a waste of money. The customer service was average. I did not have the expectation of working with a dealership to the caliber of Ken Garff, but I did hope for respectable customer service. Unfortunately, I struggled to get a sentence out of my mouth before the sales person had cut me off offering to show me the closest car to him that was for sale. I explained I was simply looking at prices and had no intention to purchase. Well, lesson learned. This only incentivized the sales person more to try getting me into a car that day. Reluctantly, I agreed to let him see my car, drive it, inspect it and give me a quote. I cannot fault them for paying the exact amount down to the dollar that KBB showed me on my initial research. However, this is a sales negation, and I was already feeling like they were too pretentious for my business, or my slightly used car of 2 years of age. All of these issues aside, I was still interested in an Outback they had. I asked them to get me specific details on the trade so I could make a decision if I wanted to move forward with the car. I could not have been more clear that I wanted to get pricing details so I could make a decision. It was lunch hour, so they were busy and some sales members were out of the office. They said they would get back to me soon, took my information and said to watch for a call or text within the hour. Well, fast forward weeks and those numbers have not come, even after me calling in to ask. From not listening, pretentiously choosing which customers to deal with then not following up on actually interested sales leads, it is a mystery to me how this car dealership sells anything. Maybe I had a lemon of a sales person, but this experience may take the cake for singlehandedly being the biggest waste of my time at a car dealership. And this was a NEW car dealership, not a fly by night used car dealership operating in a back alley. Yes, I have purchased a car in those circumstances, and it was somehow better. I won't admonish you to not give this company your business or never visit. I will, however, recommend that if you do go here to purchase a car, look at a car test drive a car, do so with the lowest imaginable standards and expectations you can summon. I needed a diagnostic test for my outback to explain why I have a Cylinder 1 misfire. I am a full time college student/full time employee who lives on my own. I only have this car to get me to work and school. I called to get to get an appointment on Aug 26. I spoke to Julia who said it would be $155. No issue with that. I had my appointment Sept 5th. Porter is the one who helped us. He let us know that it would be $260 and not the $155. I told him what Julia had told me and he agreed to "match it". He then stated that Julia was fired on the 26th, after I made the appointment, due to similar issues. He then made a few jokes about it. I don't think it was very professional to do so. I leave my car and a few hours later I get a call from Porter stating they found the issue. He then told me it was an electrical issue and that it would be fixed by Friday the 2nd (today) for no extra charge due to the issues I had with the originally pricing. I did not mind to pay for them to fix it, but he said "he will cover it". I called today to see when I can pick up my car. Shawn was the one helping me today, he let me know that they still did not know what the issue was and that I could not pick it up today. I told Shawn that I never agreed to a "second hour" for the testing, how I was told you found the issue and that it would be fixed today. The communication between employees here are little to none. I ended up taking my outback home without further assistance. It was extremely frustrating being thrown in circles for days. They put on the windshield wipers (that had been forgotten last time), & replaced a hose. I was in & out in a little over an hour. Car was brought into get cam carrier replaced and they said Friday of that week I dropped it off Monday. Friday came and they never called me so I showed up after work and it wasn't done. monday came and they ended up breaking the chain inside my engine putting it back into the car. They didn't bother to tell me. I called and when I showed up that's when they told me they broke it. They have had the car for three weeks going on four. Subaru of America even told me they will have it done on Friday and so did the dealership. So of course when I showed up to get it my engine was still out of the car and taken apart. As far as dealerships go this one is not great. We bought a vehicle from them this week during a large promotion they've been running. I originally contacted them online regarding a vehicle we were interested in. A salesperson promptly called me to arrange an appointment but she didn't bother to hide her disappointment when I told her we wanted a modest, used, vehicle under $10,000. She asked me to look at their online inventory and email her with suggestions to test drive so that she could have the cars available for us. She didn't reply to either of my emails. When an employee called to confirm my appointment I mentioned my annoyance that my emails weren't returned and the employee was defensive and unhelpful. It was clear the salesperson didn't want to help us because we weren't buying a more expensive vehicle. The salesperson we ended up with revealed extremely personal and disturbing information about his girlfriend to my husband. He was also inexperienced - which is okay - but my husband knew more about the cars we were researching than he did. After deciding on a car it took four hours total to complete the process and an hour and an half of waiting just to meet with a finance person. When we brought the car home I nearly ran out of gas because the tank was empty. There are repairs that need to be done on the vehicle that were agreed upon when we purchased the vehicle and we were instructed to bring the vehicle back the following day for service. We brought it back and the service department was closed. To their credit they were extremely busy but, in my opinion, they should have anticipated increased buyers during a promotion and made sure the service wasn't compromised. Pros: They weren't pushy. They gave us time and space to make the decision about our vehicle. Their promotion was actually quite good which is why we ended up buying from them. We have bought cars from 3-4 dealerships during our 10 year relationship and this is the bottom of the barrel. read more

I bought a 2015 Subaru Outback here. Had sterling credit but it still took 2.5 hours to get all of the financing done. That's one piece. Went in for my first oil change, had an appointment, but it still took the service department 40 minutes before my car was even taken back. Overall, it took an hour and fifteen minutes for an oil change. I get home and find out a week later that there's a big oil spot under my engine. Called to find out what I can do, after 10 minutes on hold, I finally get an operator in the service department and appears that I need to talk to the actual service person who helped me... So a lot of waiting around and so far sub par quality service. I have always taken my car to Nate Wade, so I may have to make the trek to salt lake rather than use my local Subaru dealer. read more

I love Subarus but my am experience here since they took over Subaru of Ogden has been a tough experience. I am on my 6th Subaru and was excited to purchase the new Ascent (a year ago). The salesperson had us test drive the Ascent we agreed to the price and set an appointment to come back the next day to do the paperwork. Completed the paperwork the next day only to find that the car had been sold and we would have to wait for another one. They said they would drive it to our house once it arrived in a few days...didn't happen, required us doing the follow-up and driving back to pick it up. Fast forward a year later and we have rail rust on the vehicle from the transport of the vehicle and our sun roof cracked from one end to the other (known issue on the forums). Service department said sorry and there was nothing they could do even though Subaru itself had instructed us to work with the dealer. I emailed and messaged to speak to a sales manager about my overall experience and haven't heard anything. I'm officially done trying work with them. They have lost sight of the fact that service extends beyond the sale (although the sale wasn't a great experience either). read more

They asked me what i was looking for, helped me narrow down my search, so when I came in to test drive, there were three distinct vehicles for me to test drive. When I test drove those, I realized I wasn't happy with that vehicle. But instead of telling me sorry and sending me on my way, Seth (my amazing, helpful, and patient employee who helped me) asked me what I did and didn't like and helped me find something else to test drive. He listened to my concerns and questions and answered with great information and answers. The minute I got in the car I purchased, I knew it was my car. They then helped me work out the finances through my credit union to get me into my vehicle and stay within my budget. I had an AMAZING experience at this dealership. I never felt pressured, I felt listened to and respected with my choices. They were honest with their pricing (we've been to dealerships who tell you one financial thing then turn around and basically "trick you" into paying higher prices) and with the history of the vehicles I looked at. I can't say enough about Seth Scholes. He was seriously key in making this experience comfortable, successful, and stress free (which is a big deal for me, because I'm someone who stresses out way too easily). That is where the lies began. Get back to signing and 500 for antitheft stickers. It is dealers bs charge for 500. All JDM car come with all panels marked. So 500 for a factory installed item. Next to fix the rear bumper. Lets just say it spent more time in the shop the first three months than my garage. Bumper ended up looking worse due to inept body shop (Young's Body shop) Finally get approval for my body shop to fix it from subaru. About a month later recieve a bill from Youngs to cover their shoddy body work. So now I have a brand new car with a bill for their screwup. This dealership will not budge on their non-refundable deposit rule. On 11-01-22, I put down a deposit on a model, before doing my full homework on the model. (My error!) After reading many negative online reviews for the model I reserved, I called and cancelled the reservation that I had placed, before 72 hours had passed. When I asked for the return of my deposit, I was told the reason they require a non-refundable deposit, is because they then take the model off the showroom for other customers to see or buy. I understand that if the actual car was physically on the lot at that time that I reserved it. However, the car is not due for arrival to the dealership until 11-21-22. I called again to request my deposit back due to not seeing how my temporary reservation on the car had negatively impacted the dealership or future sale of the car, after only three days reserve on a yet to be delivered car. The sales manager would not even reconsider their policy, or work with me. Yes, I understand it is my error in the first place. However, I thought they would work with me....once again an error on my part. Potential buyers, please due your full homework and review of the car you are interested in, before placing a deposit, and not make the same mistake that I did. read more

Bad experience. I wouldn't recommend it for service. My wife and her grandmother took our car for an oil change. It was $80. They were supposed to check all the fluids and the tires. They did NOT. All fluids were low and the tire pressure was low as well. There were even small rocks around the oil filter. They could have taken a second to wipe them up but didn't.
