Within this time, I think there has been 2-3 doctors, but they're always very nice and take their time to answer all my concerns. The only thing I would wish is for more inventory of styles. I am not a customer here. I went to my personal optometrist because a screw came loose in one of the ear pieces. Optometrist worked on it for about 1/2 hour and said she could not fix it. Took to to Young's optometry. The people warmly greeted me there. The optomotrist was also very friendly. He showed me that my own optometrist damaged the frame when she tried to put a screw in and said he would try to fix the damage. 10 minutes later he was able to put in a screw. Of course I wanted to pay the office but they told me "no charge". I will probably switch to Young's Optometry. Very very satisfied. read more

Avoid this place entirely. The customer service and communication here are among the worst I've experienced. They accepted my insurance but failed to provide the correct contact prescription. I ordered contacts and glasses, but after returning them due to their mistake, they refused to correct the issue or fulfill my order. My friend introduced me to Young's optometry few years ago and I have been coming here ever since. Dr. Ngo is great every time I come for my visit. I really should be coming in on a yearly basis but never happens LOL. They will send me a nice friendly reminder in the mail when the time hits. Dr. Ngo is very knowledgable, and explains eveyrthing trhoughly with me at my visits. Gives me good recommendations and answers all my questions. This office is inside a plaza with a few food places and smoothies for afterwards. I came at lunch on a Tuesday. Dr. Ngo is there on Tuesday and Thursdays. I highly recommend him. This place is trying to find another doctor to work the other days. There is also a large selection of eyeglasses. A few months later, brought my son back out of convenience and prior good experience: however, while service remained friendly, had to drop a star for the EXTREME lack of selection for kids. I was hoping to have the frames at least covered by VSP ($150) allowance, but had to go with what's available and son likes Neubau "Harry Potter" frames. 1/18: 5 Stars on this day for myself. OMG! I Young's Optometry and particularly William, who went above and beyond the ordinary customer service as he was extraordinary, exemplarily. Here's why! My VSP plan only allows frames every 2 years so this year is important to me in selecting a place that had a variety of selections and possibly see me sooner than Monday. Mind you I called on the Friday before. From the initial call, he was pleasant, very helpful and patient. I don't think I've ever met anyone so patient, almost too patient ... LOL! But it's definitely a pro. I explained what I was looking for and will be going in later the same afternoon. Long Story Short, it took me forever to choose the frames with multiple criteria and what seemed like 100s of pairs constantly changing on my face. Let's just say it would have saved me endless hours of time and agony had I listened to him in the first place. My husband and I use Young's Optometry most every year, driving ALLL the way from Redondo Beach to Temple City to see them. The location has an optometrist and the exam room in back. I remember when Dr Young used to practice 15 years ago. She's since gone into early retirement or something as exams at this location and their old location behind 99 Ranch have been run by the same male optometrist. Her father used to keep the books and answer business operations questions - He still might. The office also sells contacts, glasses frames and sunglasses frames. For glasses, they have 2 types: the premium brands that will cost a pretty penny and the cheapo brands your insurance will mostly cover. The premium frames are pricey (particularly compared to Costco, Warby Parker or online venders), the brand frames are typically great brands (Oakley, Coach, Emporio Armani, etc) but I'm guessing this is not entirely from mark up but that the materials differ in quality. For example, the frames may be lighter in weight as compared to a similar branded Costco frame. My Costco Lucky brand glasses are heavy! I will return to Young's for a nice brand of high end frames. I've not had great luck in the cheapo frame category. For example, I ordered a plastic frame and the laminated finish flaked off near the nose ridge and both hinges. The color that the lamination protected soon rubbed off in both of these areas. I will not get another no name plastic frame from here, even though I love the weight and feel of a plastic frame. I will mention that I have wide set eyes, wide temples and the infamously low Asian nose ridge. Frame selection is limited in most Caucasian retailers and optometrists, even with Warby Parker. Young's had a wide wide selection of wide frames (haha, see what I did there?). It's like shopping in Asia - oh, its so nice to have things fit my face! All in all, as other mention, I know that Mr Young will do his best to max out insurance benefits, apply manufacturer coupons and advise that I buy only what I want/need. Employees speak great English (especially the young kids) and some Chinese. I like getting frame recommendations from these folks cause I'll get that brutal Chinese frankness and practicality! Parking in rear and on street. I like that they give out free contact cases, travel size contact solution, glasses cleaning spray and cloth. I was in need of a new optometrist since my previous one retired and my friend recommended this place. I called to set up an appointment and they were so patient and understanding with my complicated schedule. I had to reschedule my visit due to being sick, but it super easy to get a new appointment. It was a bit difficult to find at first, but I was able to find it next to Golden Deli!! When I walked in, I was greeted by the receptionist, manager, and doctor. The manager, Darren, was quick go assist me by giving me paper work to fill while the optometrist measured my current glasses. Within 10 minutes of the usual looking at a farm picture and the eye puffing machine, I was sitting in the exam room. The doctor was quick and thorough with my eye exam and explained to me about my slight astigmatism. He also helped me get fitted with contacts and understood when I told him I was feeling "dizzy" from the glasses being too high. When I got my eye prescription, I started looking at glasses and Darren told me which brands were good or light and popular. I told him my budget and he was able to find me a perfect pair! He was also very patient with me as I was asking my friends through messaging their opinions. Overall: 5/5 EFFICIENT KIND PEOPLE THAT WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE THE 20/20 YOU NEED! I switched over to this optometry 5 years ago after a friends recommendation and have been coming here ever since. This place always have the most wonderful and helpful staff to help me out, whether in person or on the phone. My only concern here is the older male doctor, I forgot his name, I don't quite agree with his attitude. He's very impatient and sometimes rude and condescending. I refuse to see him if he's the doctor here that day, and I don't like talking to him. He's very much unapologetic and makes excuses for his defective products, which sometimes include eye contacts. I have been with Young's Optometry for almost 20 years since it was in Arcadia, CA in 1990s. During these years, I have given him lots of business. I also feel when things go well, everybody is happy. However, when one thing goes wrong, Mr. Young behaves himself very ugly. About two months ago, I had a pair of sunglasses for prescription lenses. The lenses are dark green. I paid him upfront. When I picked it up in the store, the glasses look good, matching the original color "dark green". But when I went outside, the lenses changed color to brownish with reddish shade. Through the lenses I can see things with some reddish or pinkish shade. I went back the store immediately. Mr. Young had many excuses for that. No matter what he said cannot changes the fact that the lenses looks brownish, not dark green under the sun. The original lenses do not change color outside. I requested for refund. He turned me down, and threatened me that he never wants my business. That is ridiculous. He did not do a good job, then he threatens me. That is what I should say to him. Please note that there are hundreds of glasses store over there, anyone could do a better job then him. read more

Their TC office suggested I come here since I am right around the corner, literally . I use to go to the one in Arcadia (Pavillions plaza) this is sooooooooo much closer. Brand new office--spacious, clean, lots to choose from & sunglasses too . Dr.Ngo comes to this office sometimes which is good for me since he's my doctor I've been seeing for the past few years ! After I paid over 1000$ for my exam, lenses and contacts, as I was walking out of the office the staff member who charged me yelled "do not return here because I don't want to serve you!" In retaliation for my suggestion that they need training. This staff member was slow, scattered, inefficient and did not know how to speak professionally. In fact, they yelled at me as the Dr. Ngo was seated there. I did not reply in fear of my own safety as I can only assume this was racially motivated. I called the office shortly thereafter, and Dr. Ngo himself answered but also laughed (which I am assuming is his defense mechanism bc he did apologize). I just cannot believe this is the professionalism in this practice. Unfortunately I have had a good optometrist here for years, but I do not feel safe or valued as a customer/patient and will no longer return for future eye exams. I will also not be bringing my parents here as previously established patients to return either. I hope the staff can be educated that unprofessionalism loses business (in this case my family of 3 who can fortunately afford to pay full price). I am sorry that they have already shut down the Rowland Heights and Arcadia practices. I will not return. I filed a complaint with the California Dept of Consumer Affairs because of the unprofessionalism and unsafe environment. read more

I got the bill from my insurance and I found out Randy claim a lot of money from my insurance. He claim my son's glasses has blue light protection in the claim which we don't have it. The frame we picked is $149 and he claimed $ 169. When I went to the store, they verified I didn't have the blue light protection and why he claimed on it. They kept saying I don't pay for anything, but I felt this is not a right way to do a business. read more

He explained that there was no need to spend extra money for progressive lens if I only needed glasses for distance. Because it was the holiday season, it took about two weeks to get my glasses. The staff are very friendly and professional. I haven't had my eyes checked in a while and was on need of new contact lenses and glasses. After filling out the usual medical questionnaire, I was quickly brought into the exam room to get my eyes checked. Dr. Ngo performed the exam which was very straightforward. Their staff helped me pick out a set of frames and educated me on any options available. I made my selections, placed my order, and returned about a week later to pick up my new glasses and contacts. Now I have perfect vision after my perfect experience! The only thing to note is that parking may be difficult. Since my boyfriend has horrible eyes, we needed to get him glasses asap! I looked on yelp for optometry places that are open on Sundays and is close to where we live, so we decided to give this place a try. The place is really clean, big/spacious and organized. There were other customers in here before us but we didn't have to wait long until it was our turn. I was comparing the prices to other optometry places and this one is fairly cheap. The consultation plus the cost of my boyfriends Armani Exchange eye glasses were around $200. Workers here are really nice and helpful. We told the lady what shape we wanted the glasses to be and she literally tried to pick out all the glasses that had that shape for us. The optometrist, Dr. Ngo is also really friendly and easy to talk to, which made the visit a lot more pleasant. They close on Thursdays, but open on Sundays. That's always a plus for me read more

I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. We visited the Temple City branch in the San Gabriel Valley. The optometrist was highly skilled, friendly, careful, and patient with both my wife and me. When we went to the sales area, we were given ample space to make our selections of frames and lenses in a low-pressure environment, but with the clerk eager to help when asked. I thought I had made a fantastic choice that optimized return from my insurance. I was pleased with my cleverness. Then the clerk and the optician huddled together and found a way, with my insurance, to get me better frames and better lenses while saving me one week's production time, for $85 LESS than I would have paid for the combination I had come up with. What place spends 45 minutes trying to SAVE customers money? I guess the answer is Young's Optometry. I don't care if you have to drive from Ventura County or Orange County. They are very helpful and easy.
