After the same well-known chain auto repair company in Surprise failed repeatedly to properly…read morerepair my 2000 Chevy Cavalier, I had it towed to Litchfield Auto Repair. My sister has been their customer for several years and has always spoken highly of them, so I decided to give them a try. Jenny Bastanchury was my service advisor and provided excellent service at every step. The car arrived shifting hard and shuddering at low speeds. Litchfield Auto Repair's mechanics quickly discovered what the large chain shop missed. A damaged transmission bracket was causing excess vibration and had been destroying my motor and transmission mounts. There were also other issues that needed attention, and the team walked me through each one clearly. Litchfield Auto Repair diagnosed excessive engine movement and rebuilt the entire engine and transmission mount set-up using modified brackets because original parts for a 2000 Cavalier are no longer available. They replaced the left front CV axle, installed a new air conditioning compressor, performed a complete R134a evacuate and recharge service, and coordinated a full transmission rebuild. Per my request, Jenny tried to source new old stock parts for the job, but in some cases, they were not available. After all the work was completed, the Cavalier drove smoother and stronger than it has in years. Their pricing was fair, their communication was clear, and the quality of their work was outstanding. Jenny and her mechanics really listened to my input and provided superior service compared with what I had experienced at other shops over the last 12 years. Although Litchfield Auto Repair is a little out of my way, I will drive the extra miles to get auto repairs I can fully trust. Please give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

As I waited in their lobby, the oil and the belt were replaced in just over two hours. The money I paid was well worth it, as I felt satisfied and secure in my vehicle after it left the shop. While waiting in the reception area, I overheard the owners speaking with another customer. They offered to assist the other customer when they didn't have to. They were willing to go above and beyond on their own time to help the community. When you come here, you're not just a customer or a number; you become Family, and I like to see that.

We chose…read moreSun Devil Auto because of their high Yelp ratings and good experiences at store near 7th Street and Bethany Home when we lived close by. My wife brought the car in Wednesday at 2PM. The oil was changed and my wife was Happy. Friday evening we were in the carpool lane heading into Phoenix when we heard a loud bang and continuous scraping noise. My gauges were fine, no smoke, no significant change in the ability to steer the car so I exited the freeway and pulled into the first safe place to stop. I called Sun Devil Auto and left a message (it was shortly after 6PM and they were closed). That phone call was not returned. We got a tow truck and paid for them to tow our vehicle to Sun Devil Auto. As of this writing, we haven't been reimbursed for the cost of the tow. I submitted the requested receipt on Saturday. Sun Devil called Saturday morning because our car was in their lot and they had our keys. I explained what happened. To their credit, there was no pushback and they agreed to do the repair. We were notified at 3:30 yesterday that the car was done. We were watching a movie at Harkins which didn't get out of until 30 minutes after they closed so I said we'd use our other set of keys to pick up the car and get the keys Monday. Bottom line - Exceptionally bad experience with the oil change, promising response (the jury is still out since we haven't been reimbursed for the tow) September 11- Update. When I picked up my keys on Monday Jacob promised to call when the towing reimbursement is approved. No phone call yet.

Unpleasantly surprised :/…read more i had brought in my truck because it was having some pretty bad overheating issues. Keep in mind i have an extremely limited tool selection so i can't really lift the truck off the ground or inspect anything without totally and fully ripping apart the engine bay, which is why i had brought it to the shop for a diag in the first place. After dropping off the truck, i walked next door and waited outside the starbucks for about an hour, to see my truck enter the shop. after maybe 10-15 minutes, i had received a diagnosis through email about the "cracked thermostat housing" I Spent 200$ for a diagnosis on a "cracked thermostat housing" and was quoted almost $1000 to replace, something i can in no way, shape, or form afford at the moment. After spending about 4 hours in a parking lot replacing said thermostat housing, inspecting the old part, and verifying there was NO cracks or leaks in the old thermostat housing, i had called back to ask about why the diag was incorrect. the incorrect diagnosis wasn't really the issue, it was more of the "oh well, i'm just going off of what the tech said" attitude that threw me off. is it reall worth 200$ for the tech to barely glance over the engine bay and return it to me with a false diagnosis? I guess you win some and you lose some :/

A mechanic needs to be trustworthy, communicative, and very good at his job - the family's safety literally rides on it. Before I saw the glowing recommendations for Pablo I had gotten the numbers of a few other mechanics but was disappointed at every turn. When I got Pablo's number, to my delight he very quickly returned my text and we arranged for him to come out and do a thorough inspection our family car. Why 'delight'? Because 4 other mechanics I had contacted either never replied or just stopped texting in the middle of a conversation or didn't speak English. Like, seriously??! These other mechanics never apologized for stopping a chat in the middle, or just said "sorry was at a job" and then never talked again. They didn't seem to care at all. I don't know if other mechanics are sitting on a high horse due to their demand or have such atrocious communication skills for other reasons. But I'm super happy that Pablo actually cares and has the necessary communication skills to make this a smooth experience. So anyway, Pablo and I arranged for a day and time for him to come out to us, gave a quote for cost and then *GASP!* he actually did what he said he would do. He came out at the time arranged and he did a very thorough job including taking photos (!) of everything. This wasn't a "I'm the pro, you just shut up and pay me" kind of thing - he explained everything in detail. Most thorough inspection I've ever had and he did it at my garage. The convenience of that can't be overstated. He charged exactly the amount he said he would, no BS surprise charges. He explained everything, never made us feel dumb for asking questions, and never tried to upsell thing. The overall experience was so excellent that since then I've hired Pablo to be our family's exclusive mechanic for everything: he's since installed 4 new brake rotors and breaks (perfect!), new fog lights, oil change, brake fluid flush, new battery, and a bunch of other things I don't remember. The car is now in the best possible condition and the cost was less than a 3rd of what BMW Service wanted to charge - and I didn't have to drive to a service center on the other side of town. Pablo came to us. He uses advanced diagnostic tools and in combination with his vast experience he can do just about everything imaginable, from fixing and upgrading anything, complete overhauls, to clearing out those annoying codes. He just does it all and that's really awesome. I'll continue to put my family's safety in his hands because I'm so pleased with his work, thoroughness and communication that I'm not interested in dealing with any other mobile mechanic.

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.

Found a coupon for Timing Belt Replacement starting at $399.95, called to ask about it. Was told they were about 4 days behind, gave me an appointment about a week out. Was ok with that. Husband and I took off work to go to appt, found out it was at least 4 days for the actual work to get done. I was dropping off on a Friday and wouldn't get the car until Thursday is what I was told. They might have gotten it to me earlier if possible. Then was asked if we were aware of the pricing, we said we had a coupon for it to be $399.95 or so, knowing it would be a little more because that is normal. She told us it would be $1750. We asked why, was told it was a package deal and a serpentine belt and something else would be done also. They charge for each thing separately, including the labor hours, even though it is all done at one time. We asked if we could just do the coupon and they told us no, it was a package deal and it was a discount. Chris, Thank you for your response to the review. As you stated, when we were there you explained the price and why, not when the original appointment was made a week ago. Upfront pricing is always appreciated. We also did not ask for a serpentine belt or tensioner, we specifically requested to not have those. We did ask about the water pump, and did understand that would be an extra price. Would have been happy to have not had that done either if it was an option and the "coupon" price was given. I do appreciate that you responded but please make sure the facts are straight before you respond to the post again. Regards, Kristen Henninger
