    Whole Roast Pork
    Emily N.

I gave Yum Cha Cafe a called and placed an order over the phone. Placed a $50 deposit over the phone and paid the rest at the store. Our order was on time and ready for pick up when we got there. The whole roast pork was really great. The skin is super crispy and seasoning was evenly flavored. My family really liked the roasted pork and will definitely ordered from Yum Cha Cafe again.

Cash only. Roast duck, roast pork, soy sauce chix. Usual suspects. A duck is near 20 bones now. When I moved to Sac in 2000 they were like 6.99. Lol. Times and inflation. Duck was ok. Sauce given is not as good as some. The duck had big pieces but kinda dry. Maybe they needed to cook them longer. Good duck should be moist and meat glistening with slight oil and dark brownish color. We used to come to this place often inside SF supermarket early 2000s cuz they were one of the few we found then. Now living here on my 20th year (worst due to Covid), we have found way more joints of all kinds of food and go-tos also. They have the combo plates and were serving those up long ago with lines. Now they kinda blocked the hot case area with chairs up and a security guy and a buddy sitting at a table. Weird. I guess you can still order combo Chinese boxes but at the end where the bbq and register is. Anyways for now it is order and gtfo! Lol. Maybe try their roast pork and soy sauce chicken. Lemon grass chix, honey glazed ribs. Custard tarts, congee $4.99, $6.99 duck noodle soup. Boba here too. I just didn't give them a pass on their duck. Good duck is a place on Broadway one of my wife's Mien coworkers mentioned. I would come here for that pork and chix. Gotta try other goodies here that I listed. Nice when we can sit in. Sigggggghhhhh!

    disgusting

Disgusting! Roasted pork have no crispy skin just a box of fat, 1 star should be over rated! , I would give 0 if that's option

CASH ONLY!! FOOD - Roasted pork: well seasoned, meaty, and not fatty. Just how I like my roast pork. $7.75/pound. 4/5 - Baked Egg Tart: flakey crust with sweet custard. Pretty good for the price! 3 for $1.89. 4/5 SERVICE Fast and fair. 3/5 FINAL THOUGHTS I come here whenever I need Asian-style meat such as roasted pork, roasted duck, BBQ pork, etc. I haven't tried their dim sum but the price is inexpensive. They also have boba, tea and smoothies.

It wasn't too long after we put our name on the list, that we were called in to be seated. This has a nice welcoming touch of elegance, from entrance designs, lighting and seating arrangements. It is roomy with a nice touch of elegance. The People who placed our order made a small error on their system so, we had to let them know so that they can correct the mistake. I have to say, their food is quite tasty and we really enjoyed their lovely venue. Since we live out of the area, this will be our go to place for dimsum every time we're in the Sacramento area. It really is quite an experience. I highly recommend you come try it for yourselves. Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping us find this place.

The AI said it was top rated, and we had never been. By 7pm the dining room was busy, many of the parties Asian We ordered a pot of tea, crispy pork, potstickers, roast duck, honey bbq pork and the house noodle dish Yue Huang Chow Fun which had shrimp and chicken. THE PROS: Nice sit down restaurant decor. Large tables and cushy upholstered chairs. Not a strip mall cubicle. They have actually been awarded Michelin Honors three times. Portions were good sized, and flavors were nice. THE CONS: Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by everything. All of the dishes arrived just warm. Staff never checked on us - not once - until we asked for some to-go boxes. They have two large tvs in the dining room, showing a loop of the restaurant I'm currently sitting in. The music in the dining area must have been on "Slow Girl Ballad" station on Spotify's free tier- as we honestly listed to a 10 min Samsung commercial in between songs - and not at a low volume. BOTTOM LINE: Maybe we were the exception- as there were clearly enough patrons to show it is a popular - but nothing about our experience made us want to come again. I guess we didn't see what the Michelin people saw. PRICE: $80

The first thing that I noticed was that about 95% of the diners were of Chinese origin. That means to me that the cuisine is good! This is most likely the Finest Cantonese Dim Sum and Seafood in Sacramento.

It was lunchtime prime time and I was instantly seated and carts came right over to me, which is so amazing. I love that this place still has carts! When the one item I wanted, wasn't on a cart they specially ordered it for me and brought it out pretty quickly. The decor is still bare bones no real ambience whatsoever. But that's OK because they have carts and that makes it all worthwhile. Now for the sad news.... The Dim Sum is just not that good anymore. I always really enjoyed having the black bean spareribs and these ribs and have a couple black beans in them are just devoid a flavor. There's a little bit of jalapeño flavor, but I would never order these again. The pan fried shrimp and chive dumplings were very stale tasting. The inside was perfect consistency and ratios, but the outside noodle was dried and chewy and just not good. I also got the steam steamed then pan fried pork and vegetable buns, which are normally to die for good here, but oh-my, they were just awful it taste like eating cardboard. The inside was OK but outside was so bad and so stale tasting that I just was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon, which is really sad.

The egg drop soup really hit the spot, and the combination fried rice was fantastic too. To all my canto peeps, this will be the place where you feel like home. However a tad variation of preferences to taste buds. My family is from a different area from the Mr. with a different flavor profile than his. So here is our take: braised beef noodle soup - we loved but the Mr. loved it more. Soup reminded me of shoyu ramen with garlic. Simple, soothing and flavorful. I loved it but it was missing a few spices I am personally used to such as more spice mix and pickled mustard greens. House Fried Rice (Thursday special) - this was simple yet satisfying. With shrimp and Chinese sausage in it. Carb overload but it was such a comfort food we cant help but finish it. House soup dumplings which we also liked but again he loved this one more also. Again, simple yet flavorful, clean comfort food while i felt the skin was a tad thicker than what I prefer. So this one depends on your preferences. Regardless, this was still good. Ambiance: clean and welcoming. They have a TV screen to highlight their food items with pictures which I always love to help me find what i want to eat. But wont lie, it makes me want to get every item on there. They all look yummy. Service: Its a family run restaurant and one person serving everyone plus seating and taking the bill. So during rush hour, do expect wait times but I completely understand and don't mind it. I can see they are busy and would rather than go to a place that is slow where the server walks like a sloth. That is always an eye sore to me. Cost: prices are reasonable and same to any other places similar. Parking is in a huge plaza and can be crowded during rush hour but still enough just may need to walk further a bit. If we ever travel this way again, will definitely be back!
