    Pork belly

Decided to check this spot out. Never tried Hmong food before. There was actually a good amount of seating and pretty busy for lunch time. Loved the kapoon and Hmong sausage with sticky rice. Definitely would get again. I also tried the pork belly and stick rice which I thought was okay. They don't skimp out on the portions! The pepper sauce is a must - extra flavor and a kick. Everything came out hot and fresh. Will definitely have to come back to try more!

If you haven't tried Hmong food, you guys need to come here. It's a small mom and pop shop and they serve really good food. Pork Belly (comes with sticky rice and side salad) 5/5 - crispy and delicious with the rice. Ask for the pork belly dipping sauce! Boat noodles 4/5 - I wish the meat was more tender but the broth was really good. Nam Vam dessert 5/5 - the perfect dessert Papaya Salad 5/5 - Great flavors. Unique taste and smell. Try it spicy if you dare. So good! Service was fast and the workers were nice. I'll definitely come back especially for the pork belly!

Fried pork belly larb combo & Hmong sausage

The place wasn't too busy when I stopped in to order to go. If you decide to dine in instead, the dining area is spacious. I went with the fried pork belly larb combo and the Hmong sausage as a side. The combo comes with sticky rice and house salad. The portions were generous and I was able to eat it for multiple meals. Both the pork belly and sausage were flavorful. There was a kick to the pork belly. Dipping the meats in the pepper sauce further enhanced the meal. I didn't really care for the salad, but at least I'm eating greens.

Overrated. Not 4.5 like yelp says it is. It's pretty much a takeout spot with sit down. No service. Food was under-whelming. I don't even know why people line up for it... The the papaya was so bad and shrimp paste / tamarind heavy I stopped eating it after two bites. The ears were ok. No meat variety in the stir fry. Portion is too small for $18.99 price tag. I came here because my sister really wanted to try this place.

K Fusion is a new Hmong eatery in Sacramento & I had to check it out! The main entrance is a little confusing because it's door to the far right and a little unassuming with nothing but a "grand opening" sign above it. The secondary entrance right under the store sign (that looks like that main entrance) actually leads to the dining area and not straight to the register, lol. This is a spot where you order at the register first, then find a seat/table in the dining area. The film dining area was clean and organized. There were condiments at every table, and a station where you pour your own water + grab utensils and extra sauces. I ordered the fried pork belly that comes with sticky rice and a side salad to-go. The pork belly was good, equally crispy and tender. My fav part of the combo was the quality of the sticky rice. Wasn't a fan of having the side salad inside the same container as steaming hot food.

They just opened and it's a small mom-and-pop spot specializing in Hmong fusion food. This is some of the best food I've had in a long time. We ordered the egg rolls, boat noodle, pork belly laab, chicken wing laab, and the pig & intestine stir fry, and not a single dish missed. EVERYTHING was a hit. That almost never happens. Everything is made to order and tastes incredibly fresh, yet it all came out within just a few minutes. It's a fast-casual setup where you order and pay first, then sit down. I loved that the entrées come with a huge side of sticky rice and salad--super satisfying and generous. They also have Hmong pepper sauce just out for you to grab, which is such a cool, unique touch and something I haven't seen elsewhere. My favorite dish was hands down the pork belly laab--perfectly crunchy without being too hard. Absolutely delicious when paired with the spicy and limey Hmong pepper dip. When we went, the place was empty. I really hope more people start showing up because this spot deserves the hype. One of the best restaurants I've been to in a while--easy recommend.

FOOD/DRINKS: - pork belly: great! It's cooked well and not too difficult to eat (I have sensitive teeth, so sometimes it's too hard for me to chew through at other places). I especially love that it comes with sticky rice and salad. It's a true meal! Most places will charge you extra for rice, so I really appreciate that that isn't the case here. - kapoon: would not get again. Hella oily and lacking coconut. Did not care for it at all..like I gave up eating it halfway through. They did give a good amount of noodles, but I just couldn't get past the broth. - nab vam: very sweet at first, but good after most of the ice melts. I think it would be better if they made the coconut milk less sweet though, because it's annoying to have to wait for the ice to melt. Aside from that, it's fairly average. - mango green tea with boba: also a little too sweet. I would appreciate the option to lower the sugar/sweetness level. I would still get it in the future though (mostly just because I love boba and can't help myself lol). SERVICE: friendly and quick. order at the counter and then seat yourself. Self-serve water, utensils, pepper sauce (I don't use it, but my bf does and really liked that he didn't have to make his own at home). They bring the food to you. Drinks were made quickly and food didn't take long. INTERIOR: I'm not sure if this building doesn't have a/c or what, but it was really hot when we came (in the winter). They turned on a fan eventually and that really helped, but yeah I hope they can figure something out because I feel like eating there during the summer would be miserably hot. If I were to knock off a star, it would be because of this.. Also, not many tables, I think maybe 10 at the most so might be better to take your food to-go. LOCATION: where Squeeze Inn used to be, on the end of the small strip of businesses. Didn't have any trouble finding close parking. Overall, I think the name is deceiving because I thought it would be Korean fusion lol. It's definitely not, but it is great food. Happy to have stumbled upon this place on Yelp and will definitely be back.

Steamed catfish with herbs. So delicious with the sticky rice!

I was very impressed for it being the first Hmong food restaurant in Sacramento! It's an order and sit down type of place but it's very clean and plenty of tables to sit down. We tried their boat noodle and steamed catfish and it was superb. The broth flavor was on point and the steamed catfish was very flavorful and paired very well with the sticky rice. We also had their tapioca dessert which had the perfect sweetness and very refreshing. Can't wait to go back and try thd rest of their food. Next menu item to try would definitely be their pork belly and kapoon!

Pork belly larb, steamed catfish, pork eggrolls, boba milk tea, 3 color dessert drink, sticky rice
    Sheng T.

All the food we ordered were not bad. Eggroll was decent, boba not bad at all actually, 3 color dessert drink a little bland and the pork belly larb was basically fried pork belly with larb powder, not bad but I would recommend the steamed catfish, that was the star dish.

Lots of parking. Lots of indoor seating. Cute decor. Very typical of a local Asian spot. It's clean with convenient supples, which I love. Definitely puts the ambiance altogether. I hate having to go scrounging for utensils, napkins, more water, etc., so I also appreciate the ability to just get up and grab as needed. I also appreciate the cultural aspect of the Hmong picture frames and the soft Hmong music in the background. The staff is nice and welcoming. They greeted us right away and gave suggestions as needed. The menu is visable on the television as well as physical copy as well. You order and pay prior to sitting down, which, again, I like especially with a variety of people in the party so no need to split bills afterwards. The boat noodle was lighter than I anticipated, but still tasted decent. The papaya salad was ok. Not my fav, but definitely not the worse I've had. I'm still looking for my fav papaya spot since the video store shut down. The Nam Van was pricer than usual but definitely bigger in size than usual too, so no complaints there. The eggrolls are sold individually or in a dozen. Comes out hot and crispy. The sticky rice with the pork belly is hot and tasted freshly steamed! Idk how they do that, but I love it! The pork belly is definitely their star here! Five stars for the pork belly alone! The skin is crispy and the meat is perfectly tender. It's not over or undercooked like I've had it at other places. This is now my favorite Hmong pork belly spot ever! No need to go to Hmong New Year festivities for pork belly anymore. I've struck gold! Bonus: get the Hmong pepper to dip the pork belly in. I've also heard good things about their larb and Hmong sausage too, so I can't wait to try those next time. This was our first time here and won't be our last.

    Tramy V.

Great new Hmong eatery! Nice, quick service! Egg rolls are fresh and crisp. The crispy pork belly was good balance of meat and crunchy skin! The pork belly laab was good too, although some pieces were a bit too dry. They give you a good portion of sticky rice with the meat. The Hmong sausage was nicely sliced, and has no strong spice or flavors like lemongrass- just straight sausage taste. The Nam Van dessert was a large cup full of sago, tapioca, and green jellies. It was a little on the sweeter side, and tasted like just like Vietnamese Che. Ample amount of seating, and good amount of parking! Simple, modern interior. Pay and order at the register, and seat yourself. Grab your own water, and utensils. Clean up after yourself when you leave.

    Kapoon

The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. Pros: I liked that you order at the counter first. It made things simple and quick. The owner was also very kind and gave my daughter a free drink, which I appreciated. I ordered the kapoon noodle soup, and my husband had the pork belly larb. Both dishes tasted good. That said, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size of the kapoon. I'm not sure if that's the standard serving, but for $15 it felt smaller than expected. I understand prices have gone up, but compared to other restaurants, the portion didn't feel like a good value. Comparing my picture to other yelp post, my kapoon portion is way smaller. I hope this is something the owner can take into consideration. I will continue to support the business and hoping for improvements during my next visit.

    Kaopoon

I actually came here when they had their soft opening in hopes to support the Hmong restaurant business. I am going to give it an honest review base on the food. As it was a soft opening, I can tell they did not fully finish with the decor. We ordered the kaopoon, pork belly, and angel wings. The kaopoon came out first and it was the most disappointing item. It literally tasted like it was a week old and they microwaved it to warm it up. The soup was literally luke warm on the outside and warm in the inside. I can still the kaopoon was old base on it's taste and the layer of oil on the top separating from the actual coconut base broth. The angel wings were a big disappointment. Because it was deep fried, it didnt have the taste of deliciousness. The stuffing inside was yellow and did not taste good. I really want this restaurant to improve and hopefully they change the angel wings to grill or oven and change the stuffing because it did not taste good. The pork belly was the only good tasting thing. It was deep fried and they served it in a small bowl. I was very disappointed that I literally only had 5 pieces of pork belly for the price that I paid. Overall I was very disappointed. I highly recommend them take this review as a learning opportunity to improve their food overall. I am willing to come back in a couple of months to see what have improve to update my review. I hate to give places bad reviews but they need to change if they want to be successful.

There is a school right next-door, so definitely be careful because often there are kids in the area. I was there on a Saturday, and it was pretty busy, but I was in and out quick. This place has coffee drinks, Matcha drinks, tea, drinks, and they sell some food items as well. My favorite is the Vietnamese, egg, coffee, but this time, I decided to go for the iced coconut coffee. As I've mentioned before, I absolutely love Vietnamese coffee, because it definitely has that "kick" to it. The coconut milk played so very well in blending into the coffee, the richness and sweetness of the coconut milk, just playing against the coffee perfectly. Just an amazing coffee. A little bit less successful, was a corn, sticky rice, that also came with mung beans. I liked the corn, and the sticky rice was just a little bit sweet, and it was great. The fried onions also gave it a bit of a contrast. I was not a fan of the mung beans. To me, they were just a bit dry. To me, the Dish ate a little bit like a dry stuffing. It also came with a "dust", that to me tasted kind of like peanuts and toffee. The Sweet and Savory of the Dish played very very well together. I will definitely be back for more of that great coffee. I will also try some of the other food items on. The menu. Thanks.

They have a parking lot but it's shared with other businesses and always seems to be full, however there's a good amount of street parking and I found a spot closeby no problem. When I walked in it was a lot bigger than I expected and they had a good amount of seating. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but that quickly changed after I placed my order and I feel like there was a steady stream of customers the whole time I was there. I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!

Plenty of seating, a clean bathroom, and an overall warm, welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. Now let's talk food... the chicken shawarma? Absolutely chef's kiss. Tender, flavorful, and easily the star of the meal. The coffee was rich and satisfying, and the crepes were packed with flavor and generously portioned. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They did seem a little young and slightly inexperienced at times, but their friendly customer service and positive energy more than made up for it.
