    Shanghai Noodle

Haven't been to this location since it was Holiday Villa. Tried the dim sum at Lucky Jade and it made sense why I haven't gone back since. The dim was not even close to being average. The fried items were overly fried, fried till there's no life left and the steamed items were mushy. The Shanghai noodles used their own "hand made knife noodles" and it was hard. This woman overheard us saying how bad each dish were and she blatantly shouted that they were super busy, too many tickets. Busy how so??? The restaurant was practically empty with the other half that wasn't even opened. There were five tables in total and three of them were in our party. The other two tables came later than ours so I'm not sure what the excuse was. Not sure if the chef was having a bad day, or if dinner tastes better, BUT....never again ... No thank you.

Lunch plate minus 2 shrimp and a broccoli stem

I probably wouldn't come again, though I suspect this place has potential! I drove by this morning while running errands and got a craving for delicious rice and shrimp! After a day of dreaming of honey walnut shrimp and fried rice, I came up... wanting... I'm not sure the broccoli had any salt at all and unfortunately that was the most flavorful of the lunch plate. I usually don't add soy sauce to meals once cooked but in order to taste the flavor of the rice I needed to add a full packet. 3 stars because the presentation was nice and perhaps the takeout DoorDash orders are rushed through flavortown instead of being given normal care and attention? Cream cheese wontons were delicious dipped in sweet sour sauce, though a bit dry without. Thanks for lunch.

We brought our big family in for a last minute lunch, and every single dish was absolutely on point. The Mongolian tofu and protein dishes were incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The noodles were another standout, not overly oily. Even the pickiest eater in the family gave it a two thumbs up. Service was quick, efficient, and so friendly, even with a larger group. They made us feel welcomed and taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone who wants delicious food, great portions, and that warm, family-run touch. This place is a gem!

Lucky Jade has been one of my go-to spots for local Chinese food, whether dining in or ordering takeout. While I've yet to try their dim sum, something I'll definitely have to do one day, all the items on their menu look delicious. Some of my favorites include their BBQ Pork Fried Rice and BbQ Chow Mein, which are consistently flavorful and satisfying. This time, we decided to DoorDash our order, and as always, the food didn't disappoint. We got the Hot and Spicy Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, and the BBQ Pork Chow Mein. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, with bold flavors that hit the spot. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, large enough to accommodate banquets and events, which makes it a great option for gatherings. I'm looking forward to trying their dim sum next time!

    The noodles were handmade.

Chef Yeung楊師傅's handmade noodles it's on the "Chef's Specialty" menu, the Shanghai style fried thick noodles is made with Chef's handmade noodles, it has the slight chewy texture. I saw it on the menu and glad I ordered it, the owner who was also the waitress told me the noodle was handmade. It was not your typical Shanghai stir-fried noodles, but it sure was delicious. She also told me this noodles was also good in beef soup noodles too.

Quality/Quantity - Huge extensive menu, but they were still able to do ALL of it well! And our guest tried to order everything on the menu, JK. Complimentary appetizers, Deep Fried Rice and Meat Pocket - Thank you, and it was piping HOT off the frier. Fried Cheese Wonton (6) - Fresh out of the fryer, so wait a few minutes before eating or you might burn yourself. My daughter's favorite. Shrimp Dumplings - Good. Pork Dumpling - Good, consistent with typical dim sum. Shark Fin Dumpling - One of my favorites! Chao Zhou Dumpling - As there were only 3, I forfeited my share. Plus I do not really enjoy peanut dim sum. Beef Rice Noodle Roll - Two orders; we were only able to finish one. Pan Fried Pork Bun - Fried well. Well proportioned with bread/dough and filling. See picture of the half bun. Sticky Rice, Chicken - We were all so full that no one ate this. Gave one to our guest to take home, and we took the other home. Might update this review after eating. Minced Pork Lettuce Wrap - Home run, fresh crispy lettuce with flavorful pork. Need I say more? Pan Fried Stuffed Tofu - Another one of my daughter's favorite. Pan Fried Stuffed Mushrooms - Another daughter's favorite. Pan Fried Stuffed Eggplant - Trying to eat healthier. Hot Tea - Thanks for using real tea leaves rather than tea bags. But I would prefer a filter to minimize the leaves in my cup. Thai Iced Tea - Good, a treat for my well deserved daughter. Atmosphere - Huge location. Banquet room, side semi private room, main dining room, etc. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - 5+ stars! Looks like the entire extended family works and eats here. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Plus, thank you for all the complementary foods, etc. It also helps that our guest is a regular customer. Price - $110 + generous tip. Inexpensive for all that we got! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2021. I know it is getting more and more competitive in the banquet room market; wishing you the best.

So far we have thoroughly enjoyed their shanghai pan-fried buns, steam rice roll w/breadstick, steam golden shrimp rice roll, and crispy pork belly. This place is usually packed usually weekends but we just got lucky and not so many people today. The servers are good and quick let's review what we order. I order the pork ribs it's okay nothing special it's kind bland to me, if they put a little oyster sauce probably way better, shrimp harkaw is okay to good portion and the shrimp is big. We order choy sum veggies it was okay nothing special but their calamari is really good I can taste the five spice, we ordered our all time favorite Congee and it's really good, we always order Congee whenever we visit this restaurant. Their Crispy Pork is good but the sauce is too salty for me. Their Yang Chow fried rice is good too and their chicken feet one of our all time favorite. I also noticed that they got a Michellin award last year that's why probably a lot of people eat here. But my overall experience is just okay, nothing special.

However, be careful with the specials that are offered when you first sit down. Our waitress, Ling, recommended a "combo" for $30 that included fish bone porridge and pan-fried noodles with fish. The noodles tasted fine, but the portion was quite small. The fish bone porridge was extremely bland--I could barely taste any fish. After looking at the regular menu, I noticed that a plain porridge costs about $5, and a similar pan-fried noodle dish is only around $14-15. Based on those menu prices, the $30 combo did not seem to offer good value and felt significantly overpriced. I would definitely recommend the restaurant for its food, but I also recommend checking the menu prices before accepting any off-menu or verbally recommended specials so you know exactly what you're paying for.

The dining room is massive and feels like a giant wedding/event hall. The dim sum is authentic and delicious: har gow, siu mai, bao, rice noodle rolls, chicken feet, plus claypot dishes, gai-lan, house special fried rice, and Chinese string beans with chicken. Everything we tried had great flavor and wasn't overly oily. The complimentary dessert, though, was a miss: basically egg whites with sugar. Service is pretty basic and can be hectic. You sometimes have to wave someone down for tea refills or other requests, and staff weren't especially courteous. Free parking in the complex, but it can be tough to find a spot during meal times. Bathroom was decent for the area but could be cleaner. Great authentic food, but service and overall experience could be better.

To all my canto peeps, this will be the place where you feel like home. However a tad variation of preferences to taste buds. My family is from a different area from the Mr. with a different flavor profile than his. So here is our take: braised beef noodle soup - we loved but the Mr. loved it more. Soup reminded me of shoyu ramen with garlic. Simple, soothing and flavorful. I loved it but it was missing a few spices I am personally used to such as more spice mix and pickled mustard greens. House Fried Rice (Thursday special) - this was simple yet satisfying. With shrimp and Chinese sausage in it. Carb overload but it was such a comfort food we cant help but finish it. House soup dumplings which we also liked but again he loved this one more also. Again, simple yet flavorful, clean comfort food while i felt the skin was a tad thicker than what I prefer. So this one depends on your preferences. Regardless, this was still good. Ambiance: clean and welcoming. They have a TV screen to highlight their food items with pictures which I always love to help me find what i want to eat. But wont lie, it makes me want to get every item on there. They all look yummy. Service: Its a family run restaurant and one person serving everyone plus seating and taking the bill. So during rush hour, do expect wait times but I completely understand and don't mind it. I can see they are busy and would rather than go to a place that is slow where the server walks like a sloth. That is always an eye sore to me. Cost: prices are reasonable and same to any other places similar.
