Donut display
Chris A.

My coworker's birthday was today. I was in charge of bringing bagels. I usually go to Panera to abuse my Panera membership but this particular coworker LOVES jalapeño bagels which Panera does not have. I googled and yelped where to get jalapeño bagels and it was either driving out to Loma Linda for potentially overpriced, East coast bagels or stay local. Yum Yum Donuts has always been a regular in downtown Redlands, and it was time to pay a long, overdue visit. At 6 AM, patrons were already lining up. In front of me was a dad and son ordering donuts and coffee for home. It is a nice little corner shop with bright signs and display cases, albeit a little run down on the outside. I prepared a day prior by looking at the menu and knew that I was going to get cream cheese and a dozen bagels-- four jalapeños, four everything, two blueberry, two onion. Buttt, the display case flaunted a scorched garlic and spinach parmesan bagels! My mind glitched and I decided on getting two scorched garlic, two spinach parmesan, four jalapeño, four everything, and two blueberry bagels...Two extra than intended. The lady was very nice about it and laughed when I said I miscounted. Unfortunately, two 8 Oz tub of cream cheese costs almost the same as a dozen bagels ($17 versus $19). What I found endearing was that the box was overstuffed and the nice lady cutting my bagels told me to wait. She grabbed a few pieces of tape to seal the box shut. I couldn't wait to dig in at work. The bagels were huge and would have tasted stellar if I wasn't lazy enough to toast them. The jalapeño with had a nice spice and the blueberry with a sweet, blueberry flavor. I think I'll try their sandwich bagels next.

This is their new sandwich, It was tasty. You have a choice of what bagel you want it in. You could use bread if you prefer.

They have the best donuts, croissants, etc. They have a large variety and always fresh. I recently tried their sandwiches and was not disappointed. Everything is fresh and not premade. I also bought mini donuts for my daughter's baby shower which were a big hit.

It is a solid 4 stars for what type of place it is. It offers a big selection of donuts, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, coffee, soda, etc. I love the bagel, egg, and cheese sandwiches and my husband loves the ham and cheese croissants. The bagel sandwiches are so tasty! It's a great spot to grab and go, especially for a busy day. It's really close to the downtown center and plenty of businesses around. I see it kind of busy on weekday mornings. There is a lot of street parking. There is minimum tables since this is mainly a stop and go type of food. The service seems to be friendly and if there isn't a lot of people in line then it typically moves really quick. Oh and its open 24/7!

Donuts are mashed.

Bad service, mediocre donuts, too expensive. So I spent about $20 on 6 donuts and the lady put everything in paper bags. I asked for a box and she said she would have to charge me for the box. Ludacris!!! I was completely shocked as to how I'm supposed to carry six donuts in small bags.

Yum Yum Donuts has the best convenient location for dashing in - super easy access and parking from Redlands Blvd., State St or 9thStreet. This is a take-away place only, there a few outside picnic tables (no shade cover) and there are some bench seats on State St. Overall the donuts are average. The Bear Claw had the traditional glaze, the dough was the expected chewiness and airy, and it had pre-made apple pie filling the "pad" of the claw. The mini-donut was also average, but the size was super. The mini satisfied the donut urge without over doing it. Plus, it was chocolate!!

Moldy donut

Bought donuts for my work yesterday and the only one that wasn't covered with icing had mold on it. Makes me wonder if the ones covered in icing also had mold and they were hiding under the icing.

Chipotle burrito. It was dreadful...

I should have been cautious ordering a burrito from a donut but here we are. The chipotle burrito was basically all egg and no chipotle. Still not even sure what protein was inside of it. Bacon, perhaps? Not sure but stick to the donuts, my friends.

I don't know what it was, but everyone in there silently scowled as we walked in, and it didn't get any better in the time we got our drinks and settled in with some pastries. We opted to sit outside, which was a bit better... at least free of the strange judgment indoors. The coffee itself was nice, and those who follow my coffee shenanigans know I usually order a cappuccino to try somewhere new, and it was quite nice. Even the little pastry I ordered was nice. I'd certainly recommend it to people in the area, though I don't imagine I'll be back soon, both for practical distance reasons and... who knows, maybe waiting until the studious clientele has gone back to school for the year.

There are only a few places to eat open for breakfast and other times. Unfortunately, the place was under renovations at the time of our visit. I was not able to go inside or see what the inner decorum looked like. Instead, I had a nice meal outside in the seating area. The food is pretty standard in terms of early cafe. I was kind of expecting more of a brunch menu. Instead, it is mostly breakfast sandwiches and other cold cuts. I did order the namesake of the store, the Stell Club. For me, the food was average. I think the best part of the meal was the bread. It was crunchy and moist enough. The sandwich meats were definitely on the dry and salty side. I wonder if they were fresh cut. Similarly, there was some sauce but I did not notice it very much between the mayonnaise and other condiments inside the sandwich. I don't know if the idea is to make the sandwich extra salty so I'll buy more drinks. I would rate this place in the category of come here if you're starving, wait for a different place to open if possible.

Within that time his co worker came back from break and took my order. She was kind to offer suggestions. My drink was ready super quick! Now for the drink, good quality matcha. I got the banana matcha on oat. You can taste bits of banana chunks. Drink can have a bit more ice to be colder. Shop was clean. Overall a good place to stop by for drinks!

Tsoko Cafe (TC) is #6 on our food adventure's list and it's right next door to TUSL... perfect! TC is also one of the OG food vendors at RPM. Their signature drinks, matcha series, Tsoko latte series, milk teas, iced teas, and coffees are handcrafted with care and creativity. We still sat in front of TUSL. I ordered at the TC counter. Young lady behind the counter didn't show much expression except to take my order. Got Butterfly Pea Flower with peach flavor for my eldest daughter, House Brown Sugar Boba for my youngest daughter, and Halo-Halo for moi. We got our drinks quite swiftly. Both my daughters enjoyed their drinks, however, we were disappointed that about 2 inches of liquids were taken off from the top of their drinks just because we asked for no ice. It's a bummer when shops do that. As for my Halo-Halo, it was just okay. I felt it lacked sweetness and it was small for a $10+ drink. Probably won't order it again. Didn't get a bang for my buck. Anyway, if you're a drink enthusiast who desires delightful experiences, Tsoko Cafe may be the place for you. Come seek and celebrate with a refreshing drink. We'll return to try some of their other specialty drinks that may give more value for my money. Btw, NO CASH PAYMENT ACCEPTED! Note: Park for free at 101 W Stuart Ave. Very short walk to the market. Train tracks are between parking and market. Cross with care.
