My feeling is they changed the ownership or chief. I still ordered the same thing as year ago. The chirashi is in the bowl and the sashimi from 15 pieces to 12 pieces (3 tuna, 3 salmon, 2 yellow tail, 2 shrimp, 2 scallops) The rices almost full to make the bowl looks nice only (personally I'd like to see it with the dish - as before). The sashimi size is a little thinner, especially the salmon. I couldn't find the shredded radish at all. The wasabi is a little spicy without stimulating the nose. I know we have the inflation raised the price is necessary, but not dropped the quality and quantity. I'm so disappointed. But my wife said her rainbow roll is better than before. Stopped in here for takeout yesterday and got the Spicy Ramen and Tempura. The last talking the other recommended adding the soft boiled egg Anand black garlic. Asked for the raven to be packed in the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Best Ramen I've had in a while! The soft-boiled egg was slightly pickled in soy and was delicious!! The black garlic just elevated the raven to the next level. Tempura was still hot and crisp and crunchy by the time I took it home! Highly recommend!!! read more

This restaurant has the BEST ramen I've ever had! My husband and I always order the spicy Tonkatsu ramen with garlic oil and an egg and it has the most flavorful, delicious broth. And the noodles taste like they were made fresh. Until I tried their ramen, I had never had noodles that taste that good. If you have not tried the ramen here, you're missing out. My favorite entree is chirashi, which is a variety is really good sashimi, piled onto really incredible sushi rice. All of this is served in a beautiful decorative wooden bowl. I'm currently in this small town called Lodi (near Sacramento) and I walk across the street from Wine & Roses Hotel to find this hidden gem in a small mall strip and I gotta say...this has to be one of the best, freshest ramen/sushi places I've ever had. The food here is very, very good. I can tell that the chef takes care in both preparation and presentation of the food. The staff are both friendly and polite. The ambience may not be the same as a higher end Japanese place, however, that is not as important to me as the food and service. The place is nice and clean. I'm a simple girl. I love smooth jazz, I love great customer service, I love trying new things and I love sushi! How could I not love Yume?!? I came here for a complimentary sake tasting tonight and left with a couple of bottles. The gentleman offering the tasting was ingratiating and knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable experience. Typically we order a multitude of sushi but decided to try some new things tonight. We were not disappointed. Of course we had a few rolls lol and I love how fresh the salmon on the spicy salmon roll tasted! My boyfriend had a pork katsu that was flavorful and unique. I tried the peanut chicken and long story short, everyone had their chopsticks in my plate! The flavor was perfect! I feel so sorry for anyone with a peanut allergy who will never be able to taste it's magnificence. The owner and head chef Masa is such a friendly, hardworking person and his wife and all the other staff are nice and attentive. Yume is literally my dream sushi place. Having eaten at pretty much every sushi place in Lodi, Stockton and Sacramento, I have to say Yume is by far the best. Not only is the fish the freshest anywhere, but the serving portions are incredibly large and for the same or even less price. The wait staff are very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy with it being a somewhat smaller restaurant. Masayuki, being the only Japanese sushi chef in the greater Lodi area, definitely has something new to offer to the table. He offers food that isn't only more authentic than other places, but also more delicious. This coupled with he fact that it's located so close to my house had lead to Yume becoming something of a staple in my diet. Nothing can really beat a big bowl of soba, a side of gyoza and a cold glass of Echigo beer. read more

First time trying Yume today, Cold and rainy and felt spicy ramen would be perfect for lunch. We were not disappointed, the best ramen in town. The broth is very flavorful and the pork is grilled which gives it an awesome flavor, had an egg added and it was perfectly cooked. We can't wait to try more off their menu. I lived in Japan for four solid years. Not on an army base, but settled in-between rice fields in rural Shimotsuma. I ate traditional Japanese meals with my Japanese husband and his family. I'll say Yume with its owner straight from this bustling island himself brings back the tastes I miss while being back in the states. I wasn't overly impressed with Yume. I had high hopes based on the 5 star reviews but I found their sushi to be just okay and overpriced. We ordered two rolls and some sashimi and we were disappointed when the fish served seemed warm, like the cooler it was in was not set cold enough. Our rolls and sashimi were this way. Service is hit and miss kind of awkward but they always mean well. The chicken teriyaki bowl is a great deal $7.00 for good quality and a huge portion. I'm not a fan of their sushi although I haven't had it in along time I am willing to try it again so I an give this place a fourth star because they deserve it. This place is one of my newest favorites for sushi! The nigiri combo had huge slices of fish on top. Probably the biggest I've ever had actually. The fried soft shell crab - I think it was called the Krusty Krab (lol) - was really good. It had avocado, tomatoes, and asparagus. This might be seasonal I don't remember, so if you're in there soon, definitely get that! The rolls were pretty standard. We had a rainbow and crunchy dragon I think? Decent size. My favorites were definitely the appetizers and the assorted nigiri. The fish is fresh and they don't skimp! Management is also very personable. The owner and staff seem very attentive and friendly. It's small though, so be wary of that if you have a large group. Nothing disappointed and it all goes down great with a side of beer! read more

Not what I expected at all. The menu was so limited & what I heard from others was they would have a variety. But the didnt. We were given a typical sushi menu. So I was looking for udon and there wasnt a whole lot of choices. When It arrived it was sooooooo salty and soggy. It was just gross and I got the worst headache after. I didnt even finish it. Also our female server who seemed around the age 15 had no clue what else they sold for drinks. We asked her if there was anything for my toddler to drink and she just said water, so I ignored that and ask her for a drink menu and there it was " apple juice". It was soo dissapointint. Came here on a girls night out and it was my first time. I can't believe I have never been here before since I've lived in Lodi for over 4 years now. The spicy scallop roll! Omg must order that! The service was excellent, I wish I remembered our waitress name but not only was she great at her service but her recommendations were great. She was super helpful and welcoming. I have gone again on a to go order and super happy. It is a smaller place and dim lit so it wouldn't be a place I would bring all 6 of my kiddos too. The first time I visited this establishment, it was a little mom and pop shop selling groceries, and serving various rice bowls. It has been transformed into an elegant sushi bar with beautiful decor, and food resembling art. The food is light, and fresh. Very tasty, but I think I might visit elsewhere... I have a budget, and although I may go somewhere with a little less quality, I can get my sushi fix a little cheaper, and fill my belly a little more. Suggest lowering the lunch prices slightly, and save the good stuff for the evenings. Might have better luck drawing in the working lunch crowd and spreading the word to fill the house after dark! read more
