Best sushi in Malibu! The food is outstanding - Nobu quality fish. Sit at the sushi bar for an A+ experience

Sat at the sushi bar and service was great. I understand why they have so many good reviews. The orange chicken was excellent, which was quite the surprise. The sushi rolls were good. Very delightful spicy tuna crispy rice and halibut sushi.

We ordered takeaway from this spot - my boyfriend was working nearby and brought the order home. We tried the Malibu Roll, Lox Roll, gyoza, and seaweed salad. The lox roll (called a "philly roll" elsewhere - salmon, cucumber, cream cheese), the gyoza, and the seaweed salad were on point. The Malibu roll (lobster, crab, amberjack, lemon, and more with sliced jalapenos and spicy eel sauce) was phenomenal - fresh, flavourful, and beautifully plated, even in takeout packaging. Every item was boxed properly and we received napkins, chopsticks, and sushi condiments. The wait time for the order was fewer than 15 minutes - my boyfriend barely had time to drink a Sapporo there as he waited to pick it up. With such delicious sushi and a pleasant and efficient staff, I'd go out of my way to come here if I was in Malibu. Great casual option if you don't want to get gussied up for Nobu.

The Mango Poke here is so delicious. All the ingredients are very fresh. It just adds on to the beautiful weather here in Malibu. I'm so glad I decided to try this place. Service is great as well. Thank you for a wonderful lunch. You have got a very happy customer here.

This is my go to for faaaaabulous, well crafted and superb rolls especially the Shiso Luna. Incredible No way Whhaaaat? Heaven Like buttah! It's layered so well that the roll separates in an oh-so-amazing journey inside my mouth. Unbelievably well done! I have never never ever eaten halibut (top layer) and yellowtail in a roll that did not but instead tasted so superb. With the mysterious shiso to pepper it up! So fresh. So fresh! And let the record show ... Chef knows I love Kama, so he got sous to freshly cut one up for me. And by golly! Quiet please. I need to pause and delight in this. No one can take this heaven away from me. Not on a mundane Monday! Not even if LA is celebrating downtown for the Dodgers. I love the Dodgers and am so proud of them ... but my love for Howdy's Sushi ... no can do. I'll watch you on YouTube Ohtani-San! ps Double Spicy Tuna - a very simple and popular name for something NOT a single sushi place in Malibu (wink wink) can match. The miniature (artistically crafted) sprouts on each piece - wow! How does chef do it! This is Michelin star level... but shhhh. Yes Images included. This time I didn't forget. So great. So great!

Very limited seating inside since it's a tiny space. They have 11-course omakase for $120. We got: 1) 3/5 spicy tuna crispy rice cakes ($15) - which my family didn't like, but I thought it was decent. 2) 5/5 mango poke bowl ($24) - I been craving poke for months, been years since I've had. The mango was really fresh, firm, balanced with sweet & slightly sour flavors. The fish was tuna & salmon I believe. Comes with raspberries & blackberries. Salivating as I'm typing. I can def eat another bowl. Too bad Malibu is so far. 3) 3/5 three hand roll combo: spicy toro, yellowtail & salmon ($30) - these are pretty standard 4) 3/5 classic bento ($30): Cali roll & cucumber salad, 3 nigiris, shrimp & pumpkin tempura. The shrimp tempura was the best thing in the box. It was so good, we got an order of just shrimp tempura. Everything else in the box was pretty standard. 5) 5/5 shrimp tempura ($14) You know it's good when you don't even need sauce. The batter was so crispy.

Best service. Vano here is the MAN.

Food incredible. Service incredible. It felt like Christmas even though it was Thanksgiving and I loved that.

What a cute hidden gem in Malibu! This restaurant took me by surprise because I was very skeptical at first but now this is my go-to place for sushi in Malibu!!! Kane and Josh were our servers and they were so attentive! A+++ for their customer service! Kane recommended the Malibu roll which was spectacular! Loaded with flavor with a zest from lemon and mint! Definitely recommend getting the sashimi bc the fish here is so fresh! There's a lot of parking and seating is limited in the restaurant

    Mango Poke Bowl

By far one of the best poke bowls I've had in California! Everything was so fresh and delicious. It was a slightly pricier bowl than what I'm used to spending, but for the portion sizing, they don't skimp out. 10/10!

Came at around 2 pm on a weekday so was luckily able to find a parking spot and there was no line to order. If it's busy, good luck. Food was delicious and priced well. Shrimp basket - 10/10 Shrimp were fried perfectly to be honest. Got 6 shrimp over french fries (the fries were also great, thicker pieces that were fried perfectly). Tartar sauce was great, the cocktail sauce as well (and I don't normally like cocktail sauce). Filled me up great. Small clam chowder - 7/10 Pretty solid clam chowder. I probably wouldn't get it again, but the first few spoonfuls were great and very enjoyable. Some of the clam towards the bottom was more chewy which wasn't ideal. Got a bread roll as well and it came with oyster crackers. Spent roughly $30 total, around $20 on the shrimp basket and another $6-7 on the clam chowder. Would 100% come here again, highly recommend if you're in the area looking for some tasty seafood.

We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.

When I ordered there were about 2 people in line. I opted for the sushi combination, which came with 5 pieces of nigiri (albacore, yellowtail, shrimp, tuna, salmon) and a choice of either a California roll or spicy tuna. I got the spicy tuna. It was a great amount of food and the sushi was wonderful. The size of the nigiri was generous without being cumbersome to eat. The ratio of rice to fish was on the lower end as well. I was a little bummed they didn't include ginger in the box but they did give soy sauce and chopsticks. -1* because it took much longer than quoted for my order and because the packaging was cracked and so when I tried to use the top as a "bowl" for soy sauce it leaked and got all over my countertop. Service had issues because a couple of dishes were not what we asked for but thankfully they fixed the issues. Even still my husband tipped 100% because that is who he is. I ordered the crab claws and they should be removed from the menu. I did not send them back because we had already had several issues and at that point I decided I would only return to this location for an iced tea and shrimp cocktail if I were in the area. Most of the claws were inedible, full of black slime, dirt, and who knows what else but it was disgusting. There is no other word I can use to sugar coat this. These are not stone crab claws from Florida if that is what you are looking for but they are stone crab claw pricing. It had zero flavor, and I couldn't eat half the bunch. The sauce, however, was perfect. But I wanted to enjoy the crab, not the sauce. We had the Greek Dorade fish and for $58, it was embarrassingly tiny. Less than an appetizer portion. Not a meal. The fish itself tasted wonderful but it needs appropriate pricing, even if it is shipped from overseas. $58 made no sense for a palm-sized fish. The wedge salad is just ok. The ranch should be more elevated. I love ranch, but I did not enjoy this one at all.I will not leave less stars than 5 because I don't believe in hurting a business because I genuinely want to see this place thrive. However, I do believe in taking feedback seriously and making changes.

Clark's Oyster Bar Malibu just opened and overall we had a really great experience. The whole area…read morearound it is nice too with other restaurants and shops nearby, so it's a good place to walk around before or after dinner. There's also a huge parking structure. We went on a Saturday around 3pm after the beach and it was busy, but we still got seated right away for 2 people. We sat inside near the windows and honestly it still felt like we were part of the outdoor seating with the ocean breeze and open vibe. Our server Brandon was great..super friendly with a good attitude and made the experience even better. We started with 2 dirty martinis with goat cheese stuffed olives. I'm not a huge drink person so I can't overly critique cocktails, but they tasted like a proper martini and were made well. Apparently they're known for their martinis. Of course we got oysters..4 east coast and 4 west coast. The east coast oysters were smaller and I personally liked those more. The west coast ones were creamier and a little bigger, but both were very fresh. Food wise: * Clark's burger was simple but really good. Thick patty, cheese, amazing pickles (seriously I could eat a whole jar of those), and skinny fries that were almost chip-like. I personally would've liked the fries a tiny bit less crispy so they felt more potato-y, but still good overall. * Tuna carpaccio was delicious and came with this garlic aioli-type sauce on top that was sooo good. * The crudo plate was super refreshing with capers and this citrusy sauce that honestly stole the show. I asked for lemon on the side and squeezing that on top reallllly elevated the flavor. The sauce was so good I started dipping my tuna carpaccio into it too lol. Overall it was a vibe. Great atmosphere, fresh seafood, good service, and a really pretty setting. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner menu too. If you want outdoor seating (which I highly recommend if the weather is nice), definitely reserve ahead because that area fills up fast.
