We weren't sure if we should go in first, and I guess we should've listened to our instincts. The shrimps fried rice for $10.50 has only a few shrimps without marinated and few chopped green onion. That's it. The HK chow mein was very disappointing. We thought it should come with chicken, pork, beef, and seafood, but it has tons of bean sprouts and onion, some snow peas and chicken. Hardly has any noodles. And, they charged us extra $1.25 for NOT getting the crispy noodles and didn't even tell us about it. My husband and I often don't like to try new restaurants because one never knows what to expect. We decided to take the plunge and try Yummy House in Sutherlin, Oregon.. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our server was prompt and friendly. We ordered what we would normally order at a Chinese restaurant and we were both extremely satisfied with both the service and the food. Everything we ordered was even better than anticipated. This is not even a 1 Star place. I went in hoping it to be good. I hardly ever yelp cause I like to see for myself. I ordered chow mein. I'm basic lol. It came in 3 min. Tried this restaurant for the first time since they opened. The restaurant is a clean and comfortable atmosphere . They welcomed us with a smile and seated us right away. The prices are very reasonable. You get a good amount of food for your money. When I got my plate I did not realize I had ordered fried food - the menu could have been a little more explanatory. The dish was basically deep fried chicken and rice. Which I wouldn't rate as bad, just very bland. Lacking any real flavor. I would say they could add more vegetables to dishes as well. Over all I would say it's a decent little place. But, I probably won't visit again soon. read more

Good food I've always enjoyed the meals. I would have gave four stars but they are strangely stingy with pink Sauce on To go orders. I'm a fan mainly due to our waiter...Albert. This poor guy had to deal with our rowdy out of town bunch on a snowy Friday night. Thank goodness no one else was there! Albert was a good sport and went along with our dozen questions and random orders. We ordered the dinner for 5 and could have fed 10. The portions are huge and served HOT. They have several selections of beer and I think our group ordered them all, twice. No wine selection. I don't consider wine out of a box a selection or even something I am willing to try. Call me a wine snob but I just can't stomach it. The food itself was pretty good. I don't eat a lot of Chinese food so I don't have a lot to compare it too. The deep fried food was a bit greasy but then again, I don't eat much fried food either. We did enjoy ourselves and that was all that mattered considering we were snowed in, in a town without much in the way of fine dining choices or any dining choices to be honest. Can't say I'll be back since I don't think we will ever be visiting Sutherlin OR again. read more

I live 500 miles away not but we always try and make a stop here when we are back to visit. The best Pineapple Sweet and Sour Pork! I can't find another place where I am now that matches that taste. Also, their pink sauce for the Mar Far Chicken and Shrimp is delicious, it also goes well on the Chow Mein! read more

Hong Kong is a hidden gem! Douglas County has many Chinese restaurants and I've tried them all... but this one is hands down the best one of them all! Also brings back memories because the food reminds me of the old Chins restaurant in Roseburg.. the owner was one of the cooks at Chins so that's why the food is so similar.. I've never had a bad meal here.. great place! And the pink sauce is the bomb! read more
