My husband and I ate dinner at the Yummy Panda tonight. We arrived about 5:15. and we placed our order quickly. There was only one other person in the restaurant. As we waited for our orders the restaurant began filling up. Soon all the seating was full and there was a line out the door. We ordered Sesame Chicken and Chicken with snow peas and mushrooms. Both meals were excellent. The veggies were fresh, the chicken was lean and flavorful. The portions were huge! We could have shared one meal. Our order arrived in about 20 min. Basic tables, plastic utensils and paper plates. It was not great trying to use a plastic fork. It made it hard to pierce the vegetables. Next time I'll bring the food home to eat. We recently tried the Chinese Chow Fun with wide noodles with beef, and some yummy shrimp, and I must say, it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were fantastic. We decided to spice things up a bit with some homemade chili sauce, and it added just the right kick for us. I highly recommend checking out this newly opened quick-service restaurant--let's hope its quality sticks around for a long time! The price was not cheap, but in line with the going price. We went there for dinner on a Saturday. We already knew about the long wait since they got popular on social media. It took about 45 mins to get our food and it's all worth the wait! We ordered shrimp fried rice, kung pao chicken, beef with broccoli and wonton soup. Everything was good, hot and very flavorful. The customer service is to be admired as the staff explained about the wait times and were giving free drinks and appetizers for the delay. We will definitely come back but maybe during off peak hours. read more

Be mindful that they are a small business! Would be best to call & order your food. I ordered Mongolian beef and House Lo mien. I loved how silky the beef is and their Lo Mien was very delicious! I ordered: Shrimp lo mein - flavor was good and shrimp size was good. Portion is a little small. Shrimp fried rice- flavor was good and shrimp was good size as well. The portion size is on the smaller size. Chicken and mushroom- very bland. Little to no flavor and chicken and mushrooms had no flavor Mongolian beef- good flavor and decent texture. Garlic green beans- not what I expected. It had a sweet flavor to it that I didn't care for. Overall the experience was much like a food truck or Panda Express but more homemade style. Everything is packed in the to-go containers regardless of eating in or taking it home. The service was very simple but the cashier/ waitress was very sweet and even offered complementary juices for my kids for the delay in food. They are a little understaffed. There is also very limited seating inside. Be prepared to wait at least 20 mins for food once you order. Overall I want this business to grow and get better with the flavors of their dishes because I will be nice to have a good Chinese restaurant in the area again. I found myself comparing them to the Shanghai restaurant that used to be here because their flavors were sooo spot on and so authentic tasting. Chinese takeout done right, finally! My vegetarian partner and I have eaten here twice, trying four different dishes and two appetizers. We like the food better than that of any other Chinese place around; the recipes are spot-on with big gas-jet wok-hai flavor (IYKYK). Portion size and pricing is decent for this economy. We went here because of reviews on the Best of Olympia FB page. The service was good, it was definitely geared toward take out, so the ambiance was meh. The food was awful. No flavor and covered with a thick cornstarch slurry, I presume to make it shiny. The egg drop soup was just a container of thick yellow goopy stuff with some egg cooked in it. Again, no flavor. I gave it two stars because the owner was friendly and the staff was attentive. We will not return here. read more

My friend lives in Chehalis/Centralia (they're combined in my mind) and we've been looking for good Chinese food for a longtime in the area. Heard this place opened so went. Had Beef with Broccoli, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. ALL were excellent - that cook can cook! Cooked with the original recipes, no fillers and no corn starch glop. Downgraded from 5 to a 4 stars because the wait was so long and the food was served with paper plates and plastic utensils. I get they don't want a dish washer but they should get another cook in there. But still really nice there is a real Chinese restaurant in the South Sound. read more

The wait is too long. 45-60 mins to get my order. I appreciate the complimentary Bao but they's not good to be honest. The skin is too dry and the stuffing is plain. We decided to try this place via the Best of Olympia page with all the ravings from the locals. Ordered 5 items and cost around $100, fair price, but not cheap imo. All of them were floating in oil. So much oil and little to no flavor. Mongolian beef and chicken soaked in baking powder which gave them weird texture, not tender. Black bean sauce with shrimps was the worst among all. I'm pretty sure the shrimps went bad as first bite I had to spit out. They smelt so bad as they were defrosted and sat out side for a while, put back in the freezer again then tossed in the hot pans. The hot & sour soup tasted nothing but plain vinegar and very watery. Glad they got positive feed back from the locals but seriously, Panda Express tastes better and costs less. We ate the food from Yummy Panda and got upset stomach right away. I understand it's a new business and didn't want to leave a bad rating or negative review. I'd suggest them taste their food again before handling to customers and find this an honest feedback to do better. read more

While eating your meal in, your food comes in cardboard "to go type" box with plastic dinnerware. The egg flour soup was very oily and the beef and broccoli was swimming in sauce. The service was excellent. The Spicey Homestyle Tofu was amazing. The textures were perfect and it was rich and savory. The rice was not Jasmine, which is why this rating is a 4 not a 5. It would be a whole hearted 5 if the rice had been as advertised. The rice was dry and hard and none of the flavor good Jasmine has, both times we ordered food from here. Which to be fair was only a few days apart So it could have been a supply issue. We have had several dishes and they were all wonderful. The Sweet and Sour Soup is so good! This is a great place in Lacey, very good food, not oily or overly salty. Prices are reasonable, fed a family of 6 for under 100. Wait time is very high if you go at dinner time but just plan accordingly. That's what happens when you have a good place.
