This place is so ghetto. They charge for soft drink refills without telling you. I set up to do a little bit of work on my laptop after a late lunch, where I spent at least $50 on food. They came over to the table and kicked me out before 6 for taking up a table for too long. There were plenty of empty tables. I had been there about 1.5 hours. I'll go spend my money somewhere else from now on if this is how the staff acts. This restaurant is ridiculous and the staff are morons. You should be grateful I was filling a table during off hours and spending money at your business. Then when I leave, they're all "thank you, goodnight!". Never coming back. Shrinkflation at it's finest ... prices are much higher ... quality is much lower ... portions are much smaller. This is the last time I will go here. It is on my 'super secret' time-saving route to get to NYC from Boston, so I'd always stop in for a lunch to break up the trip. The chicken fingers here are unbelievably laughable. A tiny little chunk of rubbery chicken and mostly batter. They are always dry and crunchy ... not plump and juicy the way other places are. Given the fact that anything you order comes out of the kitchen within 3 minutes, there is no way this stuff isn't sitting under a heat lamp. They used to be famous for their crab rangoons. They were the best I'd ever had. Post-pandemic, they must have changed their supplier because now they are junk. It tastes like someone took a frozen box of Trader Joe's appetizers and put them in a toaster oven. In fairness, I have not had a good crab rangoon anywhere since the pandemic ... but they are exceptionally dry and skimpy filling here. The fried rice is saturated in oil and has no taste other than starch. The little pieces of pork are rubbery and hard and there are no scrambled egg pieces to be found. BBQ beef sticks are like eating a strip of brown rubber dipped in sugar. My guess is that the bar crowd ... and this is quite a grizzled squad, which permanently smells like Marlboro Reds ... is so pickled from the Mai Tais (which are made with 151 proof rum and smell like something a pit crew would funnel into a drag racer) they don't care much for the taste of the food. They are there to drink. The actual inside of the restaurant isn't terrible ... it feels more like a sports bar than a Chinese Food restaurant. However, if you sit at the bar and just drink, the owners will tell you to leave because you have to order food to go with the drinks. This used to be a fantastic place with cheap lunch specials, plentiful portions and fairly good East Coast American Chinese food. Now, it's overprice ... underportioned ... and it tastes like frozen, reheated food. The fact that they charge people for using a credit card is crazy ... and not like a little ... it's like $3 on a $20 order to use a card. You'd have a lower transaction fee at a casino ATM. Ok, we've been driving past this Chinese restaurant for decades and they have this sign out by the road that says "worlds best Mai Tai" and seeing our longtime go to Chinese restaurant burnt down last year we've been on a quest to try lots of Chinese restaurants to find our perfect new go to place. We went here on a rainy 4th of July (partly because hardly anyplace was even open). You have to walk around a horseshoe bar to get to the dining area. There were a bunch of people sitting at the bar and we must have been the most interesting thing that was happening that day because they all stared at us as we walked by! Hahaha! We picked a seat (the host told us to seat ourselves because no one else was sitting in the dining area) and our pleasant server took our order. Besides the world famous mai tais we ordered soft drinks and beef fried rice, beef lo mein and pupu platter for 3. Everything came out promptly. We enjoyed the pupu platter, didn't really care for their egg rolls and the crab rangoons were kind of runny filling. The beef lo mein was kind of soupy and it was a very small portion (by the time it made its way around the table there was barely any left in the dish. The beef fried rice was HORRIBLE, I didn't know anyone could make bad rice!! The rice looked like they put it through a food processor and made the rice shorter and it had all these partially cooked onions in it. I personally won't be going back again. read more

The place was clean and has seating in a dining room atmosphere as well as bar height tables and stools on 1 wall and has a good size bar with about 20 or so stools . This was a happenstance stop on the way home from Mohegan Sun and not wanting to think about making dinner . I guess we would call it more of a American restaurant trying to be a Chinese restaurant . We ordered 1 of the combo appetizers , Mongolian Beef and vegetable fried rice and the order took about 10 minutes and we were back on the road going home with the goods . The smells in the car got our mouths watering so we brought out the appetizers . The crab rangoon were still hot and were good and the chicken wings were good too . The boneless ribs were exactly what you expect from any other Chinese restaurant . So at home we dug into the rest and we were pretty disappointed considering the business longevity in the area . Both the fried rice and the Mongolian beef were a one note flavor. Mostly bland and dry rice texture and the beef despite having a sauce seemed dry and not as tender as expected . read more

Well it's been 12 years since my first review and I figured it was time to revisit Yummy. Everything we ordered was fresh/hot and delicious. Sweet and sour chicken. Orange chicken. My opinion the best chicken fingers in the area. Pork fried rice and garlic noodles. I have made this order twice in the last couple of weeks and they were on point both times. I had two different hosts help me with my take out orders and they were very nice and friendly. And my orders were prepared correctly. Both times I went to pick my food up the place was busy. They have a nice bar and think they offer keno play. Also plenty of seating for customers that don't want to eat or drink at the bar. It's nice to know that I will no longer have to travel far to get my Chinese food. read more

Had too much expectations after reading the good reviews and realized why. When I walked in, all the staff and customers were 100% white- but for me, the food was uber salty and beef had some smell. Came home to find out the main entrees DO NOT come with white rice. I've never in my life ordered Chinese food and had to order rice separately. Not only was I not informed about the rice but also none of menu or anywhere mentioned I had to purchase rice separately I thought they come with the main course for sure. The girl behind the counter was nice when I ordered in person, but when I called to ask about the rice, she sounded so sour probably sick of getting phone calls regarding the freaking rice. Really great food that wasn't greasy or too salty! We drive 15 minutes to get take out from here and it is so worth it. We have tried the lo menu, fried rice, beef teriyaki, crab Rangoon, chicken fingers, boneless pork, beef with mushrooms and a some other items from the menu. They also have mixed drinks to go! This restaurant is more of a bar atmosphere, very loud and focus of service is the bar not the patrons ordering food. The Asian woman who appeared to be the owner canvassed the restaurant and did come by our table to ask how everything was. When she was told our food was cold and that service was absent, she acted as though she did not understand the English language. She seemed to not care and walk away. I found it ironic that she was hamming it up, laughing with a few of the bar patrons who appeared to be regulars there but had difficulty understanding our displeasure in our experience. The food would have been decent if it was not cold and the portion not so skimpy. my husband and i have been driving past their "best mai tais around" sign for a few years, and Sunday was finally the day to test them out. upon entry, i immediately knew it was a place i was going to like. i'm happy whenever the bar area is the same size as the table/restaurant area. so it's a big, horseshoe-type bar area. we were greeted promptly, and both ordered a mai tai. other folks around the bar area seemed quite happy, many of them chowing down on some bites. besides our mai tais, we ordered a few of our benchmark Chinese standards to go. my husband got the peking raviolis, fried, and i got the boneless spare ribs. our mai tais were excellent. the pineapple/cherry garnish even had incredible flavor; it almost tasted like it had been soaked in amaretto or something- it was really that delicious. the drink itself was great and, at only $6, well worth the price. my husband's raviolis were a little disappointing. the dough to filling ratio was off, but the filling was tasty. my boneless spare ribs were the real highlight. these are easily the best i've ever had in MA. yes. i said it- the best boneless spare ribs i've had in MA. not only were they fairly lean, but there is obviously some Chinese five spice in the sauce lacquer, and they were just incredibly delicious. i knocked off a star because there's some kind of smell in the restaurant. the floors are hardwood, so it's not old carpet, but- there's definitely something musty in the air. however, it does appear clean, and our food and drinks were generally very good. it's a little far for it to become a go-to spot, but we'll certainly be back when we're driving through. read more

Came into eat for the first time, they recognized I had never been there before and gave me a drink on the house. The owners even came by to say hi and ask me where I was from and what brought me in (I was on my way to Boston from Philly for my sisters wedding and stopped here to eat randomly). I don't believe myself to be too picky of an eater so with such a positive start to the night, I just told the bartender to give me a recommendation and order it. He brought me a crab rangoon appetizer, and then a dish with chicken, beef and I believe black bean sauce. It was great. Strong drinks, strong food, great service. There was also Thursday Night Football on. Unfortunately, it was the Ravens/Browns but I can definitely picture this being a great place to watch a game. I guess the story is that Yummy's recently moved from their previous location in the Friendly's plaza in Webster to this new Dudley location. Well cool, cause that's super close to my house. Also, Yummy's is now branding themselves as "Asian Fusion" cuisine, rather than just Chinese. Anyway. Sooo I don't know what this building used to be before, but I'm thinking maybe like a sports bar kinda place. It's really dark inside and the decor is sort of outdated. Service was quick and our waitress was really friendly. There was a big TV good for watching the game. They have a pretty nice drink menu with your standard umbrella drinks and cocktails. A few beers as well. As far as the food goes... mixed feelings. We went to Yummy's because someone else had told me they actually make excellent Thai food. Normally I don't go to a Chinese place looking for Thai, but I decided to try based on the recommendation. I was sort of disappointed. The pad thai was OK but definitely not as good as what you would get at a real Thai restaurant. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great. I was a bit too scared to try the sushi. I just never feel comfortable ordering sushi anywhere except for a Japanese restaurant. Maybe their standard "Chinese" offerings are better than the pad thai? Will have to find out next time. So I finally decided to try it again even though they were closed a couple months ago for RATS and what do you know it was horrible. This is definitely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I have eating general Tso chicken from a gas station that was better than this. For some reason the rice was almost black and tasted like a stick of butter. The best thing about my dinner was the fortune cookie, that's the only reason why they are getting one star because you can't go wrong with fortune cookies but then again I got a terrible fortune. The lo mein smells like the plastic from the instant ramen container, and tastes stale. The food is well okay, but that's nothing to say because I'm not a fan of Chinese/Asian food, but personally I think they should stick with just Chinese food. The pad Thai is not good. It's spicy and doesn't have any peanut taste whatsoever. Overall, Yummys is an okay restaurant that serves Asian fusion food, but should stick to Chinese.
