Yummy Teriyaki & Fried Chicken has been rebranded to Teriyaki and More Edmonds, which has it's own Yelp page. It looks like online ordering is cheaper than in store, which is interesting. While Teriyaki is the first thing read, I want to say the curry and fried chicken are the stars of the show (I have not had the teriyaki though, but reasons will be explained). As soon as you step inside the store, there is a strong curry smell surrounding the room. Curry is definitely strong and likely popular from first impression. Second, the fried chicken looks mouthwatering and there are different lunch combos. It's also possible to only get 5 pieces of chicken for $10, in case you aren't as hungry. Basically a quarter order, given how a full order is 20 pieces. A full order can easily be split between 2 people, but I'd push for 3 people as well. Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken - they offered me sauce on the side, which I gladly took for an opportunity to try the chicken plain. Otherwise you can opt for the chicken being glazed already. Chicken was double fried by the crunchy taste and extremely juicy. Fresh out, the chicken was also tender and burning. Yangnyeom sauce here is spicier than other places, which is more realistic of yangnyeom. Others tend to focus on the sweetness. Overall delicious and a huge portion. Crispy Ban Ban Chicken - today I learned that Ban Ban is half yangnyeom half original. In this case, half the chicken was original and half was spicier with yangnyeom sauce on the side. For a more authentic Korean experience, you may opt for this as it's a popular choice and allows one to get both sides. read more

Folks, this place deserves more attention. If you're ever in the Edmonds area craving some Asian food, this generous mom & pop shop delivers in massive, both metaphorically and literally, ways. My wife and I stopped by, and by some recommendations, we ordered: 5-piece Korean fried chicken (soy garlic flavor) Japanese Curry Katsu Teriyaki and Katsu combo I'm just going to lump the reviews of the katsu orders together. Right off the bay, these portions are LARGE. This place serves generous plates that can easily be two separate meals. The star of the show for me was the katsu. The breading was light but crunchy, and the katsu paired with the katsu sauce? Unbelievable. The curry was also nice too with the curry adding a thick layer of goodness onto an impeccable piece of meat. I'm already thinking of more katsu. The teriyaki was great too. Nice and simple, you can't go wrong with the teriyaki. If you want more of the sweet teriyaki sauce, there's a stand near the register where you can grab a bottle to lather on more. The Korean fried chicken - probably the largest pieces of chicken pieces (drums, wings) I've ever received at a restaurant. The soy garlic flavor was really prominent, and it also had a fantastic crunch to it all. My only qualm, albeit a tiny small one, was that it didn't pack that *crunchiness* of Korean fried chicken, as in it seemed like it was only fried once. But no matter, we were both enthralled by all the meats and flavors. Come one, come all. This place truly is a gem in Edmonds and can easily missed while driving down the road. When the fried chicken is good here it is excellent. The problem is it is not always prepared to perfection. The first time I had the fried chicken, I was sold on the crispy, juicy, tender, tasty aspects. So well prepared and delicious, and reasonably priced for the quantity. I thought perhaps it was the best chicken I've ever tasted. The second time I ordered, the chicken was burned and not good at all. OK, well maybe not quite burned but absolutely overcooked with inconsistent pieces. Some dry some ok. Not sure if that was a bad cook on that day or just that they didn't have the quality control. So I tried it one more time, asking that they make it fresh and give me no burned pieces. It was okay. The sauces are very tasty and I do like that there are a variety of them. The traditional way is for the chicken to be sauced as you receive it. I prefer my chicken plain and use the sauces for dipping. I like to control so my chicken is not over or under sauced Their garlic is the most popular. However, they have a hot as well as a barbecue for dipping. I always like to give credit when I encounter people who serve, host, or own, in the restaurants that I visit. I met the owner here and she is a lovely human being. I was treated with the most welcome smile and genuine curious inquiry about what I would like to order each time. For that they score extra points. But not quite enough to move them on the scoreboard beyond a 3-star average. And that's because the chicken should be more consistent. I have not tried anything else on the menu but they do have an extensive array of dishes. Things like teriyaki, egg rolls, and more. I say give them a chance. Try the fried chicken for sure. I saw in my local FB neighborhood group, about this must eat local food establishment. Did not disappoint. So incredibly good. Gal who greeted us was friendly. After placing order, paying. My little girl and I grabbed a table. Employee brought us delicious hot yes, the chef brought us a delicious appetizer. My little girl is so picky and devoured her teriyaki dinner. After enjoying the fresh, delicious appetizer...the diamond of my meal....the delicious fried chicken tender breasts and sauces. The 20 piece order was so huge. I had leftovers for next two days. Wow!!! Oh my goodness... best. chicken. tenders. ever!!! I loved them. Slight Cajun seasoning and soy garlic sauce in the side to dip in. They were awesome. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I will be getting these again and again. Goodby McDonald's, KFC, And all you other chicken joints. Half order was huge. Chicken fried rice was good also. Filled with lots of flavor and veggies. The portions are great. Mom had regular teriyaki and it was large enough to feed 2 people. Hubby had spicy chicken and it usually isn't spicy enough for him , but this one packed a good enough punch he didn't have to add spice to it. I saw a posting on Facebook and we decided to try it. We don't normally eat chicken or meat, mostly veggies and periodically fish or seafood. Sometimes I get a craving for fried chicken, but not often. We decided to try this since it's just up the street from us. Glad we did! I ordered our food too go. I got the spicy Yangnyum Chicken, half order (10 pieces) and the Crispy Soy Garlic chicken, half order (10 pieces). They give the sauce on the side and you are expected to pour it over your chicken. Good thing I knew which was which! They also give a side salad of marinated daikon & jalapeño pepper in a nice vinegar sauce. Both chickens are deep fried and very tasty! We enjoyed both but the spicy Yangnyum was very sweet along with being spicy. The spicyness was not overwhelming, but the sweetness was for me. My husband loved it. I preferred the Crispy Soy Garlic. I really love myself some Korean fried chicken, probably better than Kentucky fried chicken. I'll start off by saying that this was some of the most crispy and crunchy pieces of chicken I have ever had, and at the same time was extremely juicy and tender inside. Everything was perfectly executed and it was all spot on. I could only dream of having crispy chicken that is ALSO juicy. We ordered the spicy yangnyum, garlic soy, and just some plain chicken. I really liked how they kept all the sauces in conatiners so that the chicken would stay crispy and not become soggy. My favorite was by far the garlic soy chicken because it had a really nice, intense, infused garlicy flavor, and also had a hint of sweetness, but it was more savory than sweet. It just coated the chicken perfectly and totally elevated what was already some amazing chicken. I would say the flavor of the chicken itself is actually kind of bland, but I mean that's why you get the different sauces. The spicy yangnyum chicken was still also really solid, and had a nice pack of spice to it, overall really solid. I've fried korean fried chicken at other restaurants nearby and this place just stands out for its portion size, freshness and taste. The chicken is big, fresh and juicy! So we ordered a whole chicken, chicken katsu and curry bowl, and was about to order more when the sweet lady at the front stopped us. She said, "Don't underestimate how much food one whole chicken is here." And she was right! When the food came out, it was an epic mountain of golden fried goodness. I can't say for sure, but their chicken is all drumsticks and the two parts of the wing. No breast or thigh. Not sure what the reasoning for this, but honestly, I love wings and didn't mind. The chicken, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I might have to say this was the best KFC I've had in the states. No lie. I've had a lot of KFC in my life; this might be up there. Nothing was too overpowering but you could tell the chicken was seasoned well. But you can't forget the curry. I loved the chicken but curry impressed me. This wasn't your ordinary brown sauce you get with katsu. There was a depth to the curry that made me think it's really authentic Japanese curry. You can see in the sauce little bits of vegetables that help produce the depth of flavor. I would say don't miss out on this one. What topped it off was the service! I am surprised by the reviews that said employees were friendly. We did not have that experience. The lady taking our order and I had difficulty understanding each other (masks and the plastic guard made it more difficult.) But she definitely wasn't friendly. We asked if we could dine in and she replied in a unfriendly manner that we would have to clean up the table ourselves. Our order was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes. The first meal was delivered in 20 or so minutes but then the second one was an additional 20 minutes and the third one yet another 20 minutes. We had to ask for the third order to go because her dad who was driving down from Stanwood had arrived to pick her up. Someone driving during peak traffic times made it from Stanwood to Edmonds in less time than it took to make one entree? Two other tables were dirty - one with a bunch of bones just lying on a napkin and no one cleaned them in the hour plus that we were there. During the first person's meal they asked for napkins. So thrilled to have a great KFC option by my house! I've been on a fried chicken bender lately. Tried Ezells, Heavent Sent, So Tasty, Stars in the Sky, Vons Chicken, B bq Chicken...this is my new favorite place. I ordered half orders of the extra crispy chicken and the garlic soy chicken. Even after the 15 minute drive home the chicken was still crisp. The batter is light and crunchy and there's good flavor, the chicken is juicy, perfect! Juicy and crunchy in the same bite. My order came with Daikon pickles and two sauces. The soy garlic sauce was OK and the spicy sweet chili sauce was too sweet. I ended up cracking open a bottle of red hot since I was eating it at home. If you're in the north end and looking for great Korean Fried chicken tried his place for takeout. There's no dine in option right now but just get it to go drive home as quick as you can and enjoy. Quick Pack is always my favorite place but this is a very close second or even a tie. I've ordered garlic fried chicken from here before, as a take out order. The chicken is delicious. I've walked in since then and ordered the same thing and was told it would be 20 minutes. I was tied and very hungry, so I left without ordering. Today I called to place my order ahead, knowing that it would likely take 20 minutes to be ready. The lady asked me to call in 20 minutes (??!!?!!!). So, I hung up and drive to the store, on my way home, and ordered the same thing. Again, I was told it would take 20 minutes. If I call ahead again and am asked to call back in 20 minutes, I will just write this place of as not worth it. Don't come if you are overly hungry. It will be torture. I've only done take out here (twice) when they first opened and they have been super busy. Of course, it's been during dinner so not too surprising so I would recommend to order ahead. Got the half spicy, half plain and all pieces were crispy, moist and delicious. I like that you pour the amount of sauce you want on the chicken. I was super excited to see a new fried chicken spot so I stopped by this afternoon and ordered their soy & garlic fried chicken and spicy fried chicken (#4 and #6). I took it home to eat with my family...and we were extremely disappointed. The chicken pieces were HUGE. Some people might like that but because the meat was so big, it didn't cook all the way through and the meat had no taste. The spicy chicken tasted bland and there was so much pink inside. The soy & garlic had crunchy skin but again, the meat was bland and pink. We ended up throwing away most of the order. With the chicken being so pricy and bland, I'd rather spend $4.99 for the juicy Costco rotisserie. read more

What a little hidden gem in Edmonds. Came across the seattle times article and decided to give it a try. Ordered the ban ban chicken and a spicy chicken teriyaki. Was very delighted to experience a true Korean Fried Chicken experience. Perfectly crisp on the outside and hot and juicy on the inside. My review is not based off of a single visit, but an aggregate of multiple family sized orders. Being new to Edmonds and an avid teriyaki enthusiast I have tried many local teriyaki shops and have been very disappointed in the over charred, dry or small portion sized chicken teriyaki I have purchased. I am a strong believer that if the restaurant has "teriyaki" in its name, that they must be graded on their chicken teriyaki as their main staple dish. So when first visiting Yummy after if was reopened during the pandemic I was skeptical of their new advertising and logos. In such a prime location for a teriyaki shop to be the previous ratings of the old yummy's store front didn't entice me to go and make an effort and try it. But I got a well put together marketing flyer in the mail and saw it was a Korean fried chicken spot I was excited about the new ownership and made my way down. Ordered chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu and fried chicken and was blown away of the quality and quantity of the food ordered! I would have given it a 4.5 of 5 stars, which to me is only leaving room for a few teriyaki restaurants that I've had to be ranked higher. But after my inaugural visit the quality and quantity of food items (I ordered the same items for 3 different visits) seemed to get worse and worse. My last visit was the worst as the portion size was almost reduced by almost half of my first visit, rice was cooked with too much water (paste rice) and they didn't add much sauce to the chicken teriyaki (and no extra side sauce) and katsu sauce was filled half way. With the prices being on the high end for teriyaki restaurants at $11.99 for a plain teriyaki order with no extra egg roll, potsticker/gyoza added I expect a very good dish and quantity of portion size. So after them being open for a few months and seeing them serve an amazing dish as a grand opening teaser, they have shown to lax on their quality and quantity at such a high price point to either make margins meet due to high advertising costs and maybe not enough business to sustain their original amazing food venture. If that is the case I hope more will visit this place so that they can give Edmonds the great teriyaki treat that they had originally intended! DoubleN read more
