Returned food from DoorDash. I set was not complete and we didn't want to start meal without incomplete order or the condiments requested. Lady in front of us returned because hair in food. They argued with her because it wasn't in all the food, and I stepped in to help her argument. They insist I go back through DoorDash for me incomplete order. Not a good partnership. Was visiting Dallas on a business trip, and wanted to see how the local Thai Cuisine held up compared to back home. Chose Yummy thai as it was close to the Hotel. The Good: The Crab Rangoon tasted pretty good. It wasn't crispy like I am used to, but the taste was there. The Bad: First I had ordered Chicken Pad Thai. It was pretty dry, plus they asked me what spice level I wanted it, I said spicy. (3 on a scale of 1-5) but it had absolutely no heat at all. In fact the whole dish lacked in taste, probably due to being so dry as well. There was also very little chicken integrated into the meal. Secondly, I had ordered Tiger Cry Beef. It says that it is grilled New York Strip Steak (A very lean cut) yet it had chewy fat and grissle everywhere, there was not one piece that did not have fat pieces hanging off of it. It really seemed closer to a rib eye steak, or something else with a lot of fat marbled in, some may like that, but I like my steaks to be very lean (think strip steaks or filet). So I ended up throwing half of the meat away because it was too chewy to eat. The Tiger Cry sauce also was not that tasty like I am used to at some of the places I frequent back home. Lastly, the staff were not particularly rude per say, but they really did not seem happy that I was ordering from them. I have eaten Thai food all over the world. I'm pretty simple in my taste, Pad Thai is my go to dish. Pretty straight forward and basic, or so I thought. I ordered here (to go) based on people in my office. The food did arrive hot, which is the only positive here. Everyone in my office had to sample this dish and the vote was unanimous, absolutely terrible. Even the guy here who eats anything said he would throw it away. Great Thai food with many options on the menu as well as options on your preferred spiciness. The chicken pad Thai was a little too heavy on the sauce and it tasted way too much like vinegar. Normally food like this I can take home and eat as leftovers, but I was not enjoying my plate at that very moment, I knew I would not enjoy it later on. The complementary soup that comes out in the beginning was too sour and taste and I did not finish the soup. I ate here only once and will never return. The food didn't taste good...as if I were eating Thai food made by someone who rarely makes Thai food. I have a couple Thai friends who cook for me at home, and I've been to Thailand. There was a toddler running around in the dining area in a diaper. Then I see one of the chefs come out of the kitchen, pick up the kid and take the kid to the restroom. Is it a restaurant or a daycare? read more

I FOUND A CHEWED GUM IN MY FOOD!! Long time clients generally have good service. Was dissapointed to see a recent order took over 40 minutes when normally takes 20. The real HORROR was to find CHEWED GUM stuck between my chicken and noodles as I was serving it to my daughter. Yes, I found a gum that came from someone else's mouth, a mouth full of bacteria and viruses, inside the box that contained my chicken! When I addressed it to the restaurant's owner, instead of apologizing for the issue and trying to rectify, he literally yelled at me and at first refused to give me a refund. My advice: STAY AWAY from Yummy Thai. They are serving contaminated food! read more

The service was quick and decent enough for a quick bite. The price compared to other similar asian restaurant around this neighbor was bit on the pricy side I thought for some regular thai noodles. I like thai food so the food was tasty for me. Yes, I think this is the place you can visit when you have a thai food craving or meet up a friend who wants to try thai food. It's authentic enough and not so spicy. Portions are great so you can order different plates and share, and take the leftovers home for breakfast/lunch next day...maybe. read more

This is an okay place, nothing to rave about except they have large selection of different food (mostly Thai, some Vietnamese pho, and no Malaysian food) Good enough to satisfy a craving & hungry belly. Lunch portions are smaller than dinner, but comes with extra sides for dine in. FOOD-- Pad Thai - most of the time the noodles are overcooked, sometimes sauce is liquid-y, other times under sauced. Flavor is meh. Meats are generally dry, so I usually get tofu instead. Pad See Eiw - this dish is oily, flavor is on the bland side Pho with meatball - it's decent, comes with very small meatballs. Satisfy craving. If you have high expectations for pho, I would go somewhere else. Long Life noodle - love the variety of veggies in this dish. Can be a little salty Tom Kha soup - mostly watery, taste alright DRINKS -- Thai tea - something in the drink makes it taste weird (maybe the preservative?), unlike regular Thai Tea you get at most places. Would not recommend from a Thai tea lover. Thai coffee - similar complaint as Thai tea but much worst. I could only take one sip and had the throw out the rest. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. I'm charged $3 for only 4 pieces of shrimp. Total waste of time and money. Restaurant is not owned by Thai people anymore, it's owned by people from India. It seems they are always looking for a handout and trying to rip-off an American. Yummy Thai is a great spot to eat at when we have an event at our Son's school (Wonderland). The wait staff are always smiling and accommodating. This last time we ordered pad see ew and fried rice for three adults and our son. Portion size and taste is very good. Really have no complaints about food or service. One nuanced review point ... the tip suggestions on their point of sale suggests tip percentages including the price of food AND the tax. I don't know if the business has the option to change how the system calculates tip, but I personally think this should be changed. Will continue to patron, and tip accordingly so make sure you're aware of this when they run your card. read more

I dined in. I asked to sit in the booth area for privacy. It was filthy. I ordered crab rangoon which was delicious. The medium shrimp pad thai however was horrible. The noodles were sticky. This reminds me of the old saying, looks can be deceiving as you see in the first picture my meal looks amazing. So, I thought until I dug into it. First, I found a hair in the food, which they clearly don't wear a hairnet when cooking the food. I picked it out and then noticed the orange peel had the label on it. My first thought was the oranges were not washed so I picked those out of the food and as I began to take a bite into my rice I found a bug. Called to talk to the manager was told they were not in, but I can get a free meal in which I refused their offer so I told them have a great day. I will be calling the bank to receive a refund for this wasted mean. Now, I have to cook as I was not trying to do in the first place because it's been a long week hence ordering out. Very disappointed with the chicken pad Thai I ordered. Extremely dry and had no sauce or real seasoning. On top of that it was very sticky and had two small pieces of chicken. The entree was very expensive for the complete lack of quality. read more

I have always like eat here but today 7/27/2023 me and my spouse ordered a to-go order and when I said the food wasn't what we ordered at all. The food tasted old like it was sitting out all day. we order orange sesame chicken it was dark brown and was very watery not spice level at all. We called to see if we could get a refund or to have them re-make our order and was told they couldn't do it for us. This is our last time eating at this place. Very delicious curry. I've been twice and have been treated so well by their staff. Definitely a place to go for a weekday dinner.

The yellow curry was great! I will definitely order it again! Yummy Thai is truly authentic and is truly yummy! This is almost always my go to "to-go" place. I love their pad Thai, crab Rangoons, Thai tea ( which is more tea than cream), fried rices. Yummy Thai is a Thai restaurant along Irving's fledgling Riverside shopping strips. You'll find some authentic Thai dishes along with Vietnamese Pho. Although, this review focuses on my lunch visit where I had only Thai cuisine which was actually a pretty good value ($9) & also quite Yummy. Pun intended. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Yummy Thai in a shopping strip, but inside is a surprisingly open & spacious design. It's nice, clean, and new. The kitchen area\prep area is in the back, they have some TVs, and I think I even saw a private room. It's function over form though as I didn't see any major Thai décor. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and cleanliness is a good thing. 1 Star. Service - We arrived around 11:45 to a bare restaurant. We were seated quickly and received tons of attention. They'll serve you a complimentary bowl of Tom Yum soup during lunch so this is a bonus. But as the noon Las Colinas lunch rush arrived, our server got busy. Now they seem like they are adequately staffed, but they're just new and are figuring things out. So while our server was great, the lunch rush caused a little confusion amongst the staff. Even settling the bill took some time so I just took my bill to the front to pay it. I hope they work things out. 1/2 Star. Food - Now the good news is the Thai food is legit. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised given the recent reviews I read. Fellow Yelper Mykie liked them so I gave them a shot. You can get some value out of many lunch specials which include soup, a choice of app, and an entrée. The Tom Yum soup was mildly spicy, but had a nice robust flavor. I would have liked more shrimp though, as my soup had more vegetables. For my appetizer I went with a Crab Rangoon. This fried goodness (not greasy) is packed with hot cream cheese and crab. Good thing I had a Thai tea to cool me off because it was served piping hot & fresh. We also ordered egg rolls that were good - not great but nice finger food. My entrée was the Pad Woon Sen - glass noodles with egg and vegetables. A little on the salty side, but I ordered tofu as my protein which balanced it out. Vegetables were fresh, the noodles were tender, and the portion was huge. We also ordered the Yum Woon Sen salad - a salad version of the Pad Woon Sen but with shrimp & ground chicken. This dish was very refreshing and really made the glass noodles stand out. Tons of food, full belly, happy thoughts. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I welcome any new restaurant. I like how Yummy Thai is another good option in the Las Colinas lunch corridor. Tons of value & options during lunch, so a return visit is a given. In fact they're menu is pretty extensive so I think dinner would be a completely different experience. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I love Yummy Thai! I present to you a list: "MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT YUMMY THAI" 1.) It's so close to where I work in the LC. Literally a block away. 2.) They know exactly what I'm going to order when I walk in. I don't know if this is exactly a favorite thing of mine. It can be embarrassing to be honest. 3.) The staff is always very friendly, and they always get my order right...maybe because it's always the exact same thing. 4.) They love to make things super spicy, and I love my food to be so spicy that it hurts...so that's pretty much a match. 5.) Did I mention that it's right around the corner? My go to dish, drunken noodles with tofu and veggies. They don't put egg in their dish, so I don't have to worry about telling them that. Not only do they know that I like my dish insanely spicy and make it that way, they also put extra chili sauce on the side so I can add to it! The drunken noodles are always hot and fresh. The veggies are always crisp and taste fresh. Their tofu is always very good as well. All around, it's a great dish. The restaurant itself is in a relatively new strip shopping area. The dining area is large. So large that the couple of monitors they have on the wall aren't really necessary, you can hardly see them unless you are right on them. They do have a nice bar area, but every time I go in, the bar area is pretty empty. This is probably used at night...and I've never been here at night, so I wouldn't know. Ordered Pho & Edamame for lunch. The hoisin sauce had MOLD growing on it, the Edamame had something black on it, I couldn't tell if it was dirt or mold (like it mattered at that point). I was disgusted and threw the entire order in the trash, there's no way I was consuming rare beef in the pho from a place that has hoisin sitting around long enough to grow mold (pictures will be uploaded). I called the restaurant, the owner asked me to send a photo, but did not offer to fix the situation. I'm still trying to get a refund from them; they're trying to deflect to the food delivery service to get a refund (seriously...) but 1) the delivery service explicitly directs users to contact the restaurant for refunds and 2) I've had an incomplete order from another restaurant through the same service, and that restaurant corrected the amount billed immediately. I'm disgusted with both the food and the service. I wouldn't let anyone I know eat here. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

Super fresh Thai! I ordered the egg roll and Pad Woon Sen. The snap peas were super crisp, the mushrooms were delightful, the eggs were chopped small and so were the bean sprouts. The overall texture was perfect. I loved the sauce it had a delicious taste of garlic but nothing was overwhelming. The atmosphere is very clean and modern with booths and tables. It's definitely a nice causal place. The only downside is right now they are brand new, so the food takes a long time to come out. I would say go at an off peak time or order to go until their kitchen has the menu down a little better. Lots of waitresses eager to help, just need to work on ticket times. read more

NEVER ever order a Pad thai at this restaurant. It has a huge amount of fish sauce in it. It feels like you are eating fish and not noodles. Secondly, the person in-charge was very rude when we pointed this thing to him. He was not ready to accept it all. It's about time we have another Thai joint in the area! I was giving up hope there for a while. I heard about this place from several of my friends who love it. I decided to try out the pad woon sen (which is hands down my favorite Thai dish) medium hot and it was pretty good with big pieces of chicken and fresh vegetables. They stay pretty busy during the week and also weekends. Take out takes a minute but I guarantee you your grub will come out nice and fresh. Get on their rewards program as well to score discounts and freebies on meals. I am so glad to have this as my standby takeout option! A coworker and I stopped in to order takeout for lunch. The service is lacking and the food...meh. The lunch special is soup of the day, appetizer and entrée for $8.99. I ordered thai basil with beef and a spring roll. The soup was Tom Kha. I didn't like the soup or the spring roll and the thai basil was just okay. My coworker ordered the same thing but with chicken. When I asked why mine was $1 more, the waitress/cashier said beef is more expensive. I asked why they don't say that on the menu. She said it does and I said no and pointed to where it says shrimp and seafood are more. She flipped to the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu that we ordered from and there it was in small type in another section. I guess you need to read every word on the menu before ordering. And it's not the dollar, I would have ordered beef any way. I just found it poor service. Watching them try to dish our order for carryout was comical. My coworker described it best...this is like a Lucy and Ethyl show. On a side note, we watched them dump a bowl of steamed rice that was sitting in the pickup window back into the pot. I'm not sure if it had been taken out to a customer and rejected or dished up mistakenly and never picked up, but it raised our eyebrows. read more

The food here is good but if you are ordering the hainanese chicken it is not authentic. I thought I was going to get different cuts of the chicken but it was just steam chicken breast. The sauce they give you is not that good either. It's healthy though. I also have ordered the pad see ew, which was overall better. I'll come again and try another dish next time. read more

First impressions are what prompted me to revisit Yummy Thai, and given that it's close to my workplace + easy online ordering, subsequent visits were in order. Yummy Thai's menu of foods covers a broad sampling of authentic Thai cuisine, with some dishes straight out of Laotian, Vietnamese (pho) and Malaysian (hainanese chicken) cuisine. During my first visit, I had the complimentary tom kha tofu soup which was representative of everything I desired in the traditional coconut soup: sweet, savory, spicy, herby, salty, and creamy. I followed up with their Chinese broccoli and pork belly dish: wonderfully pan-fried-till-crispy bacon in a garlicky brown sauce, tossed with fresh gai lan. I even asked for extra fried garlic, which they gladly accommodated. It is a fantastic dish if you're not afraid of pork belly. For a finisher, I couldn't help but take home their warm tapioca pearl-coconut milk porridge, which if you're Filipino, recalls similar pudding/porridge dessert--oh so comforting and warming in the belly. A takeout dinner later in the week also proved memorable, though not all positive. The broccoli-pork belly dish was still amazingly good, but the large portion of tom kha chicken didn't taste the same as the complimentary soup I had for lunch--it lacked the depth of flavor that the smaller tofu soup had, probably because it was made to order. The panang curry and Yummy Rama Garden (peanut sauce) chicken were family-favorite dishes, both demonstrating thick delicious sauces that made for hearty meals. On the other hand, the pad see iew beef noodle dish left us disappointed, very bland in flavor. Maybe it would've tasted better fresh out of the kitchen, as most noodle dishes tend to be. The moo kra tiam was another crispy fried pork dish with regular broccoli in a garlic-black pepper sauce--good but not extra spicy liked I asked. In fact, everything that I ordered was on a scale of extra spicy to Thai spicy hot, but none of the dishes ordered delivered on heat, except for the soup, into which the kitchen dumped a batch of dried red chilis. On a subsequent visit, very spicy level was delivered in a steamed sole dish: a tangy and oh-so-spicy sauce dressed and accented the relatively mild fish. Sai oua (Thai northern sausage) is a must-try appetizer: an herby lemongrass-infused pork sausage that is refreshingly invigorating and tasty at the same time. The chicken satay of course is also a standard favorite, and Yummy Thai pairs it up nicely with their homemade peanut sauce and cucumber dressing. Another uncommonly-seen entry on Thai-Am menus around town is Boat Gao Lao: Yummy's was an intensely savory and filling soup--a must-try if you like authentic Thai. Also ditch the batter-fried calamari and try some grilled squid for a change. Grilling brings out flavors that deep frying disguises in this shellfish, if you can get past the chewiness (which I personally like). I can't wait to bring my friends and family to Yummy; there's a variety of food and flavors to explore on their menu and I am looking forward to trying more of it. read more

Despite some of the bad reviews I read, my boyfriend and I gave this place a shot last night. Overall, im glad we did. The medium spicey papaya salad was on point! It was bursting with flavors and burning my mouth from the Thai chilies. Chicken pad Thai was equally delicious. The restaurant is nicely decorated and great for lunch or dinner. Service here is good, not fantastic. It was pretty full last night and I don't think they had enough waitresses. There's a bar there with a few drink options and huge tv. Not a typical place I would go for a drink. They should do away with it and add more dinner tables. Unless, they were to offer happy hour drinks and Thai snack options.
