Do I miss working downtown or do I just miss having lunch at Fera's Lunch Hour? Today I attended a seminar downtown and afterwards, decided to hit up an old haunt. I was so happy to find Fera's still in business. I got a turkey with bacon sub but it was a tough decision between that and my other favorites, a small taco salad and the chicken salad with cranberry and walnuts which I enjoy as a wrap. The place has been renovated a bit since my last visit and looking nice. Although, there is slightly less indoor seating. The menu is exactly the same, simple, no-frills, but full of plenty of options for a quick and satisfying lunch. The prices have increased only minimally since my days of frequenting this place and are still very affordable.

Affordable and quick. It didn't take long for my order to come out. You get a good amount of food for the price point. However, I would only recommend if you forgot your lunch or need something quickly. My review is about the tuna salad sandwich. Overall, the presentation is nice. But, the tuna salad was a little dry and lacked flavor. I've had tuna salad other places and this does not compare at all. Good price for food though.

A locally owned sandwich shop. I went here on my birthday and the owner is very friendly and makes your experience very personal. His prices are really competitive and everything is fresh! I got a turkey sandwich. What's even better is they slice the meat you order at the time you order it. It's a breath of fresh air to find a sandwich shop that's fairly priced and so yummy! When I'm ever in the area this will be the place I come to for lunch moving forward! I can't wait to try other sandwiches they may have!

Great gem of a lunch spot if ever you're in the neighborhood (e.g. jury duty, catching an afternoon Bisons game, etc.). It's nestled between a parking ramp entrance and exit. Not much as far as signage outside at the moment, so it's easy to miss. But, if you do, you'd be missing out on some fine sammiches. I got the gabagool..er, capicola w/ oil, lettuce tomato, cheese. Nice bit of spice, great flavor, chewy bread... I probably could have eaten 2 more. Easily.

Nice little lunch spot quick and cheap!

Great subs, great soup, great service, great people. I cannot say enough about this place - it keeps me going back multiple times per week.

Great little lunch spot. Always fast n friendly. Get the Turkey Bacon sandwich and a bowl of soup and enjoy a lunch under $10.

As always I can't find one thing that isn't delicious there…read more I try to bring new friends to try the food and everyone loves it. The service is one on one every time. They always ask what I want added to my veggie sandwich and it's always amazing. I only wish it was a bit brighter in there. It's just a tiny bit too dark in the back for my taste.

What a fun lunch experience. The owner, Nando is such a great guy. They can sense first timers, and…read morewow they made us feel so special. We were provided samples of the bread and cheese. Nando LOVES to talk, and explain the food and his culture! Loved hearing the story behind these culetto sandwiches. Basically what I heard in America we call them an "ass" sandwhich. Hahaha basically take the butt of the bread and stuff it with goodness. You can dine in here, I personally call it take out spot, but again there are a few tables and chairs to eat in, which is what we did. I love a good meatball, so went with the meatball one. It did not disappoint. Loved ever bite, which is hard because the sandwhich is so big. There are two sizes choose, regular and colossal We went with regular which was great portion, only imagine what the colossal looks like. There are two choices of bread white or sourdough. Of course went with the sourdough. Delicious. My "butt bread" was stuffed well with cheese, sauce and meatballs. I wasn't able to eat it all there, by the end of night, after it sat OMG soooo good. The bread had really soaked up that delicious sauce. My mom made her own, which she stuffed with turkey and cheese. There was plenty of desserts, but unfortunately were so stuffed didn't try. But while we were there a couple came in just for them and bought tons. Told us favorite spot to grab dessert. I'll try some next time. I have to also speak on the "mother's wall'. Here Nando has over 100 pictures of mother's. Hear him talk about mother's and family in general was special. Hard come here and not feel like the family love.

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

We came here for lunch because we seen so many great reviews but man, what a disappointment. The…read morebar area was nice, but the service and the food was not as everyone else described. I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
