Got the regular minced pork, medium spicy, added $1.99 for two beef balls, and $0.99 for nappa cabbage. Came with some bean curds and tomato. Super filling for me as they give a lot of noodle (but not enough toppings to pair with it at the end). Pretty small menu, I think they feature their chicken broth but we didn't try it. Chopsticks, napkins and wooden spoons are found in the small drawer built into the table so no need for much service. Clean restaurant, brightly lit. No wait on a Sunday evening around 6pm. We waited about 5-10min We ordered the traditional chicken soup noodles and the traditional tofu dry mix noodles The amount of chicken in the chicken soup noodles was minimal but the chicken broth was nice and flavorful I personally liked the soft tofu dry mix noodles as it was my first time having sofi tofu mix noodles. the addition of preserved vegetables and minced pork brought out the flavor of the sauce. I don't like writing negative reviews but sadly I thought the food was mediocre. Service was very slow and the servers could not answer questions about the menu. Further, the servers did not refill the sauce bar with cilantro despite multiple requests. We were initially told to pay and create a membership downstairs once we finished our meals (as we were seated upstairs) and as soon as we packed our belongings, the server rushed up and made us feel like we were trying to skip out on payment. The utensils were kept in drawers inside the tables and the atmosphere of the place was different from most restaurants in Vancouver. We were served everything at once (we ordered from the Dine Out menu) and the spread was impressive. I was very happy with the serving size and the broth tasted very clean. However, the flavors were mild, and I think there are better tasting noodle dishes out there. I was also a bit confused as they chose a cartoon duck to be their mascot as it felt like it didn't fit the restaurant's traditional Chinese design. read more

I've been here twice and the staff and service are so friendly! The classic small pot was quite greasy, and I couldn't taste the flavour of the broth because it was overpowered by the chilli oil. The chicken noodle was amazing though! The chicken broth was so rich and flavourful that I actually drank it all. I could not finish the rice vermicelli because the portion was huge. Prices are very reasonable for downtown. I would come back again for the clear broth soups. read more

Ordered the traditional chicken soup and the classic small pot noodle soup. The traditional chicken soup comes with shredded chicken, fried egg, fried pork inside their classic soup base. Flavor is a little milder as expected with the original chicken soup. The classic small pot, you can customize and add what you want to the soup. Soup is more flavorful, with more spices. Both are delicious and place is pretty clean. Portion is huge for the price and I can barely finish mine. Service is excellent and the owners are super nice. Highly recommend! read more

Tried their classic noodle for one, and really liked how hot and flavourful the noodles were. It was perfectly spicy and warm, which was great for a rainy winter day. Service was kind and friendly! Only thing is that the dish doesn't come with much other than soup, noodles, and some minced meat. Would be great if there were other toppings! They just opened. Apparently their chef is really famous in China. They specialize in "crossing bridge noodles" for those who are familiar with it. There are legends and stories about how it came to be, but in any case, basically its a "deconstructed" soup noodle dish. Imagine a typical soup noodle, but all the ingredients are kept out of the broth, and you get served them on a platter. The broth comes separately in a piping hot stone bowl. There are a few places in metro Vancouver serving this already. I went on a weeknight for dinner. Not too busy. The restaurant is small and service was fine. It's counter service. You look at the (short) menu on the display at the front, order at the counter, then they seat you while you wait for your meal. The servers bring it out to you later. Utensils and napkins are in a drawer at your table. They serve a bottle of water for the table as well. Odd though, they dont serve any beverages for sale. I ordered their signature noodle, the "Crossing bridge" noodles dish. It was $29, which is WAY too much. The broth is a chicken based broth, which is very rich, and quite good. If you like chicken soup, this is for you. The other ingredients though were just ok. A variety of proteins, a bit of veg for garnish. You put all the ingredients into your soup bowl and then they take all the extra dishes away. It's completely unnecessary and really the main gimmick of these noodles in the modern day. They could have easily mixed it all for you and immediately brought it out, for the same result. But that is the dish, so I wont fault them for it. My problem is the platter of soup ingredients and garnishes. It is clearly pre-prepared and set aside for who knows how long. A lot of the greens on it were wilted, the bean curd skin had patches of dryness like it has been sitting out uncovered for a while, and the ratio of proteins to noodles to soup is just off. They are generous with the soup bowl for sure. A lot of rice noodles too but this is cheap and worthless. The proteins are very sparse though. For basically $35 after tax and tip for a single bowl of noodles, you need to offer more value than just excessive soup, cheap carbs and not much of the rest that isnt even fresh. The gimmick of the dish's history and unnecessary presentation is not something worth paying more for. Their other noodles dishes are $20 which is still quite high for what you get, but at least a bit less unreasonable. The restaurant is new so it is clean. I do not like their spoons - basically mini wooden ladles but the spoons are really deep and hard to use. Overall, 3/5. The soup is 4.5/5, easily their best asset. The rest of the stuff in the bowl is a 3.5/5. The value given their pricing is atrocious, 1/5. Especially for counter service like it is a quick/fast food place. And why serve nothing to drink but water? not even hot tea? Street metered parking on Robson. read more
