3.5/5! I felt like I was transported to a restaurant on the side of the road in China. The utensils were kept in drawers inside the tables and the atmosphere of the place was different from most restaurants in Vancouver. We were served everything at once (we ordered from the Dine Out menu) and the spread was impressive. I was very happy with the serving size and the broth tasted very clean. However, the flavors were mild, and I think there are better tasting noodle dishes out there. I was also a bit confused as they chose a cartoon duck to be their mascot as it felt like it didn't fit the restaurant's traditional Chinese design.

I've been here twice and the staff and service are so friendly! The classic small pot was quite greasy, and I couldn't taste the flavour of the broth because it was overpowered by the chilli oil. The chicken noodle was amazing though! The chicken broth was so rich and flavourful that I actually drank it all. I could not finish the rice vermicelli because the portion was huge. Prices are very reasonable for downtown. I would come back again for the clear broth soups.

Ordered the traditional chicken soup and the classic small pot noodle soup. The traditional chicken soup comes with shredded chicken, fried egg, fried pork inside their classic soup base. Flavor is a little milder as expected with the original chicken soup. The classic small pot, you can customize and add what you want to the soup. Soup is more flavorful, with more spices. Both are delicious and place is pretty clean. Portion is huge for the price and I can barely finish mine. Service is excellent and the owners are super nice. Highly recommend!

Yun Queen Rice Noodles 七彩云南过桥米线 @yunqueen_ricenoodles 1460 Robson Street, Vancouver BC @robsonstreet is a new cozy Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodles restaurant. It has 2 floors for seating. It was fully packed with seated-in customers when we came here for lunch. They have self-served garnishes and soy sauces area. The service is great and they are quick to serve the food to your table. We have tried... 1. Signature Golden Guoqiao Rice Noodles You add the fresh ingredients (shrimp, squid, ham, free-range chicken, BC pork, fish slices, crispy pork, witches butter, shredded tofu, chinese chives) and rice noodles into the 200 degree hot bowl. You stirred it until they are fully cooked. The golden broth is rich and flavorful and the rice noodles are smooth and chewy. You can refill a free noodles as well. 5. Signature Braised Pork Offal Rice Noodles This noodles comes with braised pork intestine, pork belly, pork, shredded tofu in a spicy pork and chicken broth. 9. Dian Braised Noodles A dried noodles that come with BC pork belly, braised pork, marinated egg, crushed peanuts in a house-made minced meat and soybean zhajiang sauce. It's silky and smooth once you mixed all the ingredients into the noodles. I personally like the following in order: 1. Signature Golden Guoqiao Rice Noodles 9. Dian Braised Noodles 5. Signature Braised Pork Offal Rice Noodles Don't forget to add the dessert 10. Brown Sugar & Rose Tofu Pudding I highly recommend to eat the dessert. It's not too sweet and the aroma of rose petal and brown sugar are perfect. QUACK Tonite was a combination of not up to par from over 8 plus past visits. We saw they were short staffed but they kept smiling. it was slow service and we were given a complimentary bowl of crispy Yunnan munchy chips with what we guess was bamboo shoot seasoning ... Just like Hawaiian . Pupus unique !!! INVISIBLE MINORITIES , the GweiLo If it were gweilo diners of non Asian invisible condescending minorities of Cdn /Euro heritage : Wasp, Slavic: Polish, Serb, Croatian , Bosnian; , Italian , Portuguese , Dutch / Austro German , Scandinavian with expected entitlement and privilege they would scolded and yelled at them. It's not unusual for these gweilos to raise their voice to rant and rave . The boorish behaviour is to relive the superiority as if it were in the colonial era they learned from their Lofan parents and grand parents . Any how we were empathic. And just chilled out. we savoured the Yunnan landscape pictures . Most funky was the Yunqueen Mascot , Tony the Duck which had duck posters all over the walls. Quack. There is a loyalty program for Tony the Duck merchandise . Quack . We had the signature small pot noodles which we could customize to suit one's taste . quack Hopefully they can quickly solve their staff shortage issues ...and not Duck the issue. Quack .

This Noodle spot is absolutely delicious! Very different than the other noodle spots in town, this place is absolutely delicious with fast and friendly service. I definitely would recommend trying this place out if you're in the area! The Signature Golden Guoqiao Rice Noodle dish is definitely a must try dish.

Super affordable rice noodle, after adding two toppings it's still less than $15 post tax. I picked the small noodle where you fill out a little form to customize your bowl of noodle and add any toppings. It is SPICY so their spice scale is definitely high up. Let me tell you the small noodle was not small I was so full after!

All I can say is that everything at this restaurant was on point…read more Unfortunately, there was horrible traffic (due to the Marathon closures), and we were 1/2 hour late! But the wonderful hostess accommodated us, and I am so glad that she did! I cannot remember everything that we ate, but I know we got pork belly, dumplings, and duck rice cakes. OMG - everything was perfectly and authentically prepared! The wait staff was wonderful and so helpful with ordering and suggestions for eating. What a wonderful experience! We cannot wait to go back to Vancouver and eat at Bao Bei AGAIN!!

They have a selection of snacks and small plates.tapas style and meant for sharing. We ordered a couple of item, they came one by one about 10 minutes apart. The dishes would have tasted so much better if they had came all together. The kitchen couldn't keep up with all the orders. We sat right front of the kitchen where you can see through. The dishes were coming out very slowly. Mautou The short ribs were overcooked and kinda tough to chew. The daikon radish on it was delicious. The plate was sitting for a while so it was not very hot when we got it Dumpling Steamed prawn and scallop dumpling. It was nice and hot. Filling was very good. The wrapper was horrible, it tastes like the cheap super market kind. Sablefish Delicious. Very soft . Didn't feel very Asian . More French style Pea shots Highly recommend by the server. The vegetables was very old and half of it was tough to chew. The tips were edible. It was also sitting for a while before we received it. It was not hot. Barely warm Not very impressed with this place. It's probably the most expensive and worst tasting Chinese food we had. Was not satisfied

Came here for a Chinese wedding reception and the whole place was reserved for us…read more The food was a set menu and everything on it was yummy and well prepared. I like the way they portioned it and served each of us. They did not skimp out on the ingredients, such as if they say whole abalone, it really is. They definitely served the best seafood. The dessert also was amazing with the brown sugar cake and tapioca pudding. The only reason 1 star was missing was that parking was not that easy and service was mostly good. At times, some staff were not was attentive such as: they took the chopsticks away, but you still needed them. Still, Kirin is solid for it's dim sum and seafood!

As a high end restaurant, the food quality was below average. However, what truly disappointed me was the poor service. Even though the restaurant was not busy, the dishes were served very slowly. The first 2 dishes came out fast, but the later 2 dishes came out after 45 min. When we asked for additional rice and water, we had to wait an unusually long time. Throughout the meal, we felt neglected. It was hard not to feel that the level of service was noticeably indifferent, possibly because we did not order any high-priced seafood or premium dishes. For a restaurant at this price point, the service was simply unacceptable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not return and would not recommend it.
