Delicious every time, we have enjoyed the Pork Tonkatsu Ramen time and again and it's always a fortifying meal, despite our sensitive stomachs. I have dietary restrictions and some FODMAP sensitivity but I have never had a problem with the food here (I say this in response to one strangely low review that my own experience couldn't agree with at all). If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been coming to this restaurant for years. I have celiac disease. I've safely ordered their spicy edamame dozens of times, gluten-free, without issue. But today, on a milestone day for me, I was refused service. Flat out. I ordered the same dish, the same way. It came out with plain. I flagged it and asked if it was the spicy gluten free. They claimed it was. As the meal progressed, the staff doubled down, claiming the dish couldn't be made gluten-free despite having served it to me DOZENS OF TIMES before. I asked to see ingredients. They refused. Let me say that again, they refused to show ingredients for a food allergy. They tried to argue with my partner about what gluten is, deflected accountability, and when challenged, chose to deny service instead of clarifying or correcting. Gaslighting someone with a medical condition, and then refusing them service for not rolling over? That's not just unprofessional, it's dangerous. This isn't about spicy edamame. This is about integrity, safety, and trust. And to whoever was working the front today, you know you've served this dish gluten free. You know my face. Own your choices. If your kitchen changed the recipe or can't guarantee safety, fine. Say that. But don't pretend the customer's mistaken just to dodge liability. We won't be back. And if you have any dietary restrictions or expect transparency from the people preparing your food, you shouldn't be either. read more

Okay... My review has since gone down hill. My husband still adores his sushi and thinks it's some of the best he's ever had... Which definitely is saying something but me, nope. I don't think I can ever order from this restaurant again. Sad but true. The second time I ordered from here, I requested no seasoning on my yellowtail collar but when delivered, yep, still had seasoning... And it wasn't all that good. And the salmon skin was chewy, and honestly made me a tad bit nauseated cause I noticed it still had scales on it. The third time I ordered from here, I ordered the sashimi platter and salmon skin Handrolls. The sashimi was dynamite! I will give them that, and for $23 you get a lot of fish! But the salmon skin was NOT GOOD. Blech. I couldn't even finish it. I saved it though and I'm going to try crisping it UP in my air fryer... To see if that saves it. Again, it was chewy... And tasted just off (kind of like in order 2, I just wanted to try one moreeee time before making my final decision about this restaurant). Also, this time around- SOOOOO MANY SCALES!!!!!! SO GROSS. I can't handle scales on salmon skin. It's repulsive to me, and all I kept doing while trying to eat this salmon skin was taking scales out of my mouth. We are regulars and come to Yutaka at least once a month. It's always a quiet and peaceful place to have a meal and we always enjoy trying new rolls and new types of sushi along with our usual favorites. Service is always perfect (not lacking anything, but also not excessive check in) and we are always glad to see our same kind friend as always who seats us and helps us. I like the inari soup which I don't often find other places. The sushi is tasty. This is a happy place for us. read more

Will definitely be back to find those two elusive stars. Short staffed, so if you know someone; send them here for part time shifts. Food is stellar. Drinks are just right. Hostess is sweet and witty. My preference for Pepsi is dampened but the hostess joked she would have a Pepsi for me when I come back. Overall, I see the potential for romantic dining. I think they should turn up the music a bit and rush the drinks to the table. The three stars is strictly for under staffing and long wait for initial drink and appetizer order. Today is my Birthday ! So I was going to come to one of my favorite places and have some delicious sashimi and sushi , let's start off with this.. We have been sitting here for an hour and a half we have just barely received our drinks and that seems like such a chore to get. The young man that was getting our drinks definitely did not want to be there and you could tell by every action and every movement he made it would so obvious he was miserable working. We were trying to get his attention to order and when doing so he smirked at us in such a horrible way. It's so disappointing that this place has turned into the way it has. Granted It is a Friday night, and they only have one server I don't understand why this is, like that there are so many people in this restaurant behind the counter I literally can count seven people. How come we weren't greeted and or told we'll be right with you guys in a few minutes. Or I'm sorry we're super busy,, no we just are waiting and waiting and waiting for our drinks we didn't even order yet ,and then finally ,,,,we asked how long would it take for the food and we were quoted about 20 minutes. It has been way longer than that now this is no way to run a business. I am so sad and what an unfortunate day for it to happen on my birthday I was just trying to have a very pleasant evening tonight with my family and have some delicious sushi can't even believe how long it took just to get the drinks. They knew we were still waiting for our first round of food like an appetizer or our soup or salad. Quite a few minutes after that we reminded one of the staff that was there that we had not received anything and then the ball started rolling quite quickly them noticing we were quite upset also at this time we have been there for almost 2 hours. We had asked the young man a very important question about one of the things that we had ordered if one of the dishes was real crab or imitation crab we were informed that it was real crab and it was not and unfortunately my sister had a very bad allergic reaction to the fake crab. She is super super allergic to it thus that's why we asked numerous times to make sure it was supposed to be real and it was not. I just cannot believe this happened and it could have been avoided with a simple no it is not real. Absolutely utterly ridiculous by the thank goodness of Murphy's law my sister had taken Benadryl beforehand due to being allergic to kitties and she was petting a cat just a little while before we went to the restaurant. If my sister had not taken that Benadryl she probably would have had a very bad episode and what it ended up in the hospital or might of even died. The negligence of the employee that caused this issue is horrific. I have went to this place numerous times and I have enjoyed their food but unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be coming back here anymore it is so sad the attitude has gone downhill and the communication is just not there I'm only giving this place three stars due to what has happened. read more

Based upon my last review however I would say this place is inconsistent. I got an Alaska roll and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll had very little sauce and wasn't very spicy at all. This isn't the most sleek and elegant venue in Denver's metro area. It's not the wildest, crazy combination sushi rolls I've experienced. Yutaka is a nice place with a hard working team of caring and conscientious staff doing their best to provide each guest with a great meal of truly fresh seafood. Each time we come, we are always pleased with the quality of the food. Service is always courteous, friendly and doing their best job possible for all of us. We stopped there tonight for the first time as it was convenient. Firstly it's obvious that no one there is Japanese. Also, the front was being run predominantly by a young man who appeared to be about 12 an what I assume was his younger sister. We were seated at a table after waiting for the young man to clear it. He returned with menus and we ordered a Bento Box #1 dinner, Udon noodles, two common rolls and I asked for tea and a hot saki for myself. Water was provided. The boy didn't write anything down at all. Shortly thereafter he brought the ubiquitous salad and soup. The salad was overly wet and the soup tepid. I took about 20 minutes for the young man to return with my daughter's rolls which were loose and place in a single very unappetizing manner on a huge round industrial dinner plate. Since we hadn't gotten and plates, napkins or hashi, I requested place settings. Neither my wife's entree or mine were forthcoming, so my daughter shared her rolls. The Udon arrived next perhaps 10 minutes later. It too was haphazardly piled unattractively on a plain white clay plate. Several minutes later my bento box arrived. The broccoli served in teriyaki with the salmon was wet from being steamed, not prepared properly at all. The tempura shrimp and veggies was hot and crisp but dam it was just about as tasteless as I had ever had. The scallops were overcooked and tiny. I gave my daughter the California Roll pieces. We never receive the tea or saki I requested, but it wasn't on the bill. All in all I would have to say that while it wasn't terribly expensive, I got what I paid for, a mediocre dinner in a mediocre place. read more

I strongly believe that the owner of this restaurant has some deep deep misunderstanding about Japanese food for I don't think they have even had any Japanese food. The first image is what oyako don is SUPPOSED TO look like, and the second is what they gave me. Their curry is tasteless, the katsu is bland and NOT even crispy, tastes like it's been soaked in water. The salad tasted like a mix of old vegetables and a horrible self-made sauce. Everything we ordered was different than what we expected and different from what we've had at every other sushi place, including ones in Japan. Another disappointing experience. Yes, I understand it is Valentine's day and business is nonstop but online orders should not take almost 2 hours to complete. I am patient, but not 2 hours for 3 sushi rolls patient. I placed my order through the Yelp app (Grubhub) at 6:20. Got the notification that my order was ready at 7:04, so we walked in to grab it. We waited patiently behind a like of people who had been waiting before us for to-go orders. After chatting with them, we realized our orders were all placed around the same time. There was no one to serve the to-go counter, they were very short staffed and even had their children working the counters. I finally tracked down someone to check on my order, it was around 7:25. She told me the chef was preparing my order now because it was only 3 rolls. We waited a little longer, at 7:50 (now an hour and a half after my order was placed) my order had still not been started. I asked her to check on the status and she grabbed my ticket and proceeded to read my order to the chef. It had not even been started 30 minutes prior! At this point I was fed up. I asked her to cancel it because I could not wait another hour. While waiting at the counter, I noticed several tables waiting on their orders. Two customers actually approached the counter and asked about the status of their orders. The customer service is horrible here. They aren't pro-active about ensuring customer satisfaction and didn't even care that people were waiting that long on to-go orders. There was no offer of any appetizer or drink while we waited. We hoped to have a better experience this time, but it seems that this is the standard for this restaurant. read more

My wife ordered from Tutsis at least once a week. We have since moved to Phoenix, so no more Yutaka for us. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. We always add cream cheese to our California rolls. The owner delivers sometimes, and since my wife orders 50+ times a year, the owner calls her his sister. They are a very friendly and nice group of people. You should definitely give them your business. Eh. I try to come back and give this place more chances but when I go back, I ask myself why I did. The service is beyond slow, even when there's not many people in the restaurant. Sometimes I feel like I have to flag the staff down in order to tell them what I'd like to eat. When it comes to the food, it is pretty decent but it is quite expensive even for sushi. Last night I tried something non sushi related and had the Beef Shogoyaki. It was pretty good and came with vegetables. The vegetables were definitely not drained before putting them on my plate which led to the rest of my food being watery. The sauce on the beef was okay, could've used more because of everything being watered down. The plate was $10, we ordered one roll which was the Philadelphia and it was $5.50. I want to like this place because it's so close to my house and the people seem great that work there but every time I just feel disappointed. read more

Wow- super impressed! Yutaka is such a gem- clean, staff is engaging and friendly, food is fresh, cost is very reasonable. I loved the miso soup, but I need to rave about the hand made shrimp shumai! Simply the best I have ever had, we tried steamed and fried- steamed shumai was good, fried was great! The tuna poke bowl was so fresh and beautiful, hard to believe it is so reasonably priced! My wife had a custom roll made, the chef executed her request perfectly - really pleased with our experience. We were some of the last customers as we had arrived rather late. We did not see any of the staff lounging about, they were always moving or cleaning. The staff that was not busy helping us was cleaning every menu thoroughly and then arranging them to air dry- really impressed with the attention to detail. Highly recommend! read more

There was only one waitress handling the whole restaurant maybe because of covid. I think they are too overpriced for their food or service. The fish was not too fresh and sliced uneven.
