Lunch time at Sakura Sushi was busy, but not packed. Similar to other sushi and ramen places in town, besides sushi and ramen, they also had varieties of appetizers, donburi and lunch boxes. The setting was low key, but welcoming with Japanese theme decor. Service was prompt. Ordered the sashimi omakase with 5 different kinds 20 pieces of sashimi, including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish and snapper, and a cucumber wrapped sashimi roll. As they were having a BOGO special for toro, added that to complement the sashimi omasake. Besides these, also ordered the beef teriyaki lunch box. The taste and texture of the sashimi were good and enjoyable, while the beef teriyaki was within expectation. For less than $100, this was a pretty good deal.

Tiny, cute place with good food at good prices. Friendly, down to earth feel. I loved the thoughtful and creative decorations. First they brought out complimentary Thai tea. I doubt this is a regular thing, and probably happened because it was towards the end of the night and they are a new restaurant. The Thai tea was tasty. We ordered 2 omakase for $60 each. Very good value, when considering it comes with a 8-pc roll and 20 pc of sushi, where a couple pieces were uni. Very good value. The uni was from Japan. It was pretty good with no bitterness, but was just slightly lacking in flavor. The sushi rice was seasoned very well. I was impressed with that flavor the most. Unfortunately the rice was packed really hard in the nigiri. I prefer the rice to be a little less in quantity, and not packed so tightly for my nigiri. The fish itself was good quality, and cut well. The sushi chef definitely knows what he's doing with cutting fish. I would describe the food overall as, not best of best, but very nice. It is worth repeating though, sushi rice seasoning was very high rating for me. They brought out a complimentary mango "cheesecake". Again, probably because end of night and they are new. It was still frozen and needed to thaw, so it was not very pleasant. The ice crystals throughout kind of ruined it. The flavor was okay, but did not remind me of cheesecake at all. It was more like a frozen mango puree mousse cake or something. I want to give 3.75 star, but between 3 star and 4 star, it gets rounded up to 4. Less packing on rice and fancier fish (like blue fin, even if prices increase) would garner a 5 star from me. I will definitely be back a few more times over the coming months to see how they settle in.

This is by far the worst sushi I've ever had in Colorado. It tastes very fishy. The fish looks and tastes horrible. I cannot eat any of this sushi. I love sushi too, but this is just disgusting... The lobster tasted so fishy, I had to spit it out. The yellowtail doesn't even look appetizing. The tuna belly, which is a very expensive and delicious piece of the tuna belly, tastes horrible and chewy. We literally cannot eat any of what we ordered. Extremely disappointing, what a waste of food and money... Since I used DoorDash too I have no idea how to get a refund. Over $80 down the drain....

Kiwi banana sushi, it's so good. Never had this type of sushi before.

The shasimi is so fresh and good and the price is very affordable compares to other sushi restaurants. Jason is a creative chef and he made us a kiwi banana sushi that is so good. He use good quality and fresh ingredients from Japan. Definitely will come back.

l've been here a couple times since their grand opening, and ordered take-out a couple others. Definitely plan to keep coming back for more. Highly recommend!

We've eaten here many many times since discovering it in June. Ive brought co-workers, friends who've come to town, and my husband and I will come for date night. it's just SO good. the inside is so cute with the cherry blossom vibe (Sakura = Cherry Blossom / Pink Flowers in Japanese) and the decor delivers. the menu is robust, the serving staff is on top notch, and the sushi is fresh, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious.

Here is what we got: 1. Pork Bao Buns: funny enough when it first came out it had no pork in it. I actually had to tell the waiter and he ended up coming back with the meat in it this time. This was okay, however a lot of pickled ginger ruined it. 2. Chicken Kaarage: unfortunately this was a complete miss the breathing was 90% and chicken was about 10%. Not worth the money. Entrees: 1. Tonkatsu Ramen: being a Ramen place this broth was delicious. Nothing bad with it. Wish there was more meat. 2. Beef Yakiudon: this was like a stirfry of beef udon noodles. It was okay but a bit lackluster due to all the sauces in it. 3. Poké bowl with salmon: this truly just had a good balance of everything but not enough poke. Overall, this place was OK. As I was pondering to see if I should go to more of a sit-down restaurant, Asuka's quick poke bowl sounded like a much better choice so I rushed the one on Broadway between the gym and yoga. I stepped in to be greeted by the lady in charge of the kitchen and the register. She was still finishing up the guest ahead of me but once she was done she came to take my order. I went with the Build-Your-Own bowl. The lady was efficient in asking me which ingredients I would want for my nutrient-rich bowl. She was wasting no time and effort and yet she wasn't rushing to get rid of me either (LOL!!) She sounded like she is/was used to handling a long line of people but never forgets/forgot the routine of good service. Once my bowl was perfectly crafted, she had a quick and yet genuine thank you to say. She then moved on to the next person in line. By then there were several people in line. Once I had paid I took the time to look at the interior decorations. And they are quite cute! The umbrella decors on the ceiling are one of them to mention. The dining area is not big and yet it can hold a good number of guests. Quite tidy and clean indeed. Between the location down the street from my house on Yosemite and this one, this location is quite more lively. The Yosemite location seemed a bit smaller than this one. Let's talk the quality of the bowl! Very fresh! From the crunchy cucumber pieces that snapped as I ate it to protein (salmon and tofu) to al the fixings that topped the bowl, everything tasted surprisingly and refreshingly delicious. I wouldn't necessarily say that it tasted exactly like the authentic poke bowls I experienced in Hawaii only a few months ago, Asuka is a solid (chain) place I can go and grab a bowl with no compromise. I have come to appreciate this place very much.

In general, it's been a laid back, go-to place to get a meal that will be much better than average for the price. I've been many times since before and after COVID, and it was one of my favorite repeatable spots in Denver. However, the crew totally dropped the ball with our visit today. My wife ordered a tonkatsu ramen and got a chicken tonkatsu set instead (chicken cutlet, not bowl of ramen). To not make it weird, we just let that one be for the greater good of the table because it was our anniversary, grandparents were visiting, and we are here often. Our hamachi kama (one of my favorite dishes in the entire city, normally something I'd highly recommend on this review) was never sent to the kitchen, leaving us waiting for over an hour with two young kids at the table who had finished 40 minutes before. I watched the staff's confusion from my seat, even after we had been told that it was on its way. It was never even started, and it was obvious. That stuff happens, but it's hard to hide what happened in an open kitchen where you can hear what people are saying. But then after they had the "oh crap" moment, it wasn't even expedited. It was gonna take so long that it wasn't worth getting, so two people had to leave our not-busy lunch without getting the main thing we brought them to Ototo for. We were asked to wait for the dish, waited 15 more minutes, and it was not even close to ready. And while I appreciated the apology, the manager initially just tried to "take the dish off the bill," a dish we never received. So he basically tried to do nothing because no restaurant would charge for something that never came out. After I pointed this out, they took off part of the check, but that attempt at nothing under the guise of a comp was crazy. I've easily spent thousands at Ototo over the years. I've sent tons of people to Kizaki, Temaki Den, and the others. This will probably be the last time I go to Ototo. If you read some of the recent bad reviews, something is not working here anymore. I hope the otherwise amazing service at the other Dens can find its way back to Ototo.
