Came back here for the champurrado, conchas and tamales Dec 2023. Food always fresh. I think the ambiance can little more welcoming maybe decorating depending on the time of season will be nice. Service is always 50/50 but like the product. read more

Oh so good. And they are pretty too. I was always on the lookout for a good Mexican bakery. And the reminders that Yvette's exists were unrelenting... I could see this little bakery as I drove down the freeway, and with a way too easy access. First impressions? A tiny storefront with a limited selection of bakery items. But hold on to your britches. Prepare to get nostalgic. It's that fun feeling after seeing the traditional wooden display cases with glass doors. And the smells, oh my, divine. I completely lost my focus (I had had a tamale craving that first day) and grabbed a tray and tongs. Do know that, right now, bread is out of the question for me. But there are others in my circle who do not have these restrictions. So I say in retrospect, it is important to get the best for whomever is important in your life. And I am saying, yes, I did try them BNC (Before No Carbs). And yes, I knew I was in serious trouble here. I got an acute case of the goosebumps when I noticed the word manteca describing some of the pastries. I know, I know. The rest of the world frowns on using animal fat these days. But between you, me, and the lamppost, there is no comparison when it comes to a pan dulce's proper taste. They know what they are doing in the back of the kitchen. The consensus: the breads were special. Fresh, all the right flavors, light, moist, beautiful to look at, and understated sweetness. So, we returned. And this answers the burning question why I am now doing keto: to undo my indiscretions. As I said earlier, I was hooked on the notion of having tamales for the New Year, a splurge, because I simply cannot be having carbs like these willy nilly. But it was the breads that won me over. The tamales were not anything memorable. If I could just figure out how to vacuum the carbs out of these precious nuggets, I would be standing at the front door waiting for them to open. Sigh. Woohoo! This Panaderia (aka bakery) offers ALL my "pan dulce" favs (conchas, puerquitos, nino envueltos, pan frances). This spot is tucked away in a strip mall (next to Dexter's Deli). The sweet breads were fresh and prices were super reasonable. JUST AN FYI: It is self-serve (so grab a tray + grab pair of silver tongs+fill up your tray and then hand over to staff so they can ring you up). PLUS this little gem offers home made tamales, menudo, and cold pressed juices. Unfortunately, the discovery of this spot poses a serious threat to my hips..but that doesn't matter, because I WILL be back. read more

What a great find! Bakery items were fresh and tasty. I couldn't help but to add to my list of must haves. I haven't found a better Mexican bakery in Riverside. I'm sure they are out there, but this one is within easy driving distance for me. The selection was fantastic. The service was super friendly. It's just a small sized bakery, it's not fancy but you don't go there to eat. You go there to get great bakery items and enjoy elsewhere. I've already told friends about this place. It's now their go-to for bakery desserts and rolls. Fantastic place! read more

These tamales are moist, delicious and meaty. The perfect trifecta to me of a good tamale. I've been eating these for while as I work close by here and my co workers are always coming here for tamales and bread. For bread I bought 2 pieces and of the two I really liked the concha it has another sprinkle of course sugar on top of the normal concha sugar topping. The concha was NOT dry which is usually common. I see why people have their tea/coffee with their bread because usually Mexican pan is dry. This was lighter and delicious. The other pan which is usually my go to was just ok a little dry and the flavor was vague. That bread was the little piggy bread. All in all I'll continue giving Yvette's bakery my business. read more

My husband bought conchitas from this bakery and they were absolutely moist and delicious. However, when i went, conchitas were very, very, very dry. I arrived pretty early in morning, so, not sure if they were left over from day/s prior. Will i go back again? Maybe. But if i do, i will ask when they were baked or wait for fresh ones right outta the oven. read more

Loved this place, walking in it's truly a panaderia with the warm, sweet air. On cold days this is the spot you need to go to, forget a donut shop the warm shops of panaderias are like warm grandma/ motherly hugs. You can smell the browning of bread and imagine the warm bites you're about to dig into. They have a large varity of breads as well from pan de trigo, common sweet bread like conchas and mantecadas, to puerqos and even tamales. Good stuff, highly recommend the food and the experience that to me is a warm sense of nostalgia and familiarity. read more

It's always been hit or miss for me at Yvette's, but for the most part I hadn't been bothered nor impressed enough to leave a review. Mistakes happen and they are usually inconvenient but what bothers me most when mistakes happen is unapologetic attitude and zero recourse offered. I went in to pick up some tamales and they said they were working on them so I paid $120 for a few dozen and was told to come back in an hour. I came back an hour and a half later and they had sold my tamales and told me it would be another hour. I had already burned the fuel to get there the first 2 times and I was unavailable to make another trip as we were heading out of state for the holidays that morning. They seemed shocked that I said I wouldn't wait again. Why would I take that gamble again? Then they seemed confused as to what they should do.... Well, refund my money would be great, but what gets under my skin is the complete disregard for accepting responsibility with a sincere apology. Costumer service is dead. I haven't been in the service industry in a very long time but a morsel of recourse, maybe a refund with an apology, a discount for a future order, or an offering of the last two tamales in the bucket would have been a small ripple of a gesture that could have caused a tidal wave of confidence to come back again, continue to refer friends and family, compose a positive review..... Ripples that turn in to waves- Businesses lately miss the simplicity of that idea lately. I wasn't looking for free handouts which is why I simply collected my refund and walked out disappointed. But now this small ripple of leaving disappointed has me leaving a note of advice rather than praise and sadly looking for new establishments to take my business. read more

Two words..... CHOCOLATE FLAN!!!! What's better than Mexican pastries?! Sweet, filling, cake, bread and unbelievably cheap prices?! Sign me up! Yvette's Bakery does not disappoint! I've been in here multiple times and have left drooling and rushing home to eat my bag full of goodies. Everything I've tried has been delicious and well prepared. Chocolate Flan is my go-to here and I can't seem to get enough. Flan on top of a dense chocolate cake has to be the perfect combination! Workers here are friendly and helpful. Our go-to bakery! We moved to Riverside in July 2020 and it took awhile for us to find good spots for pan Dulce. One day we walked into Yvette's and we've been loyal customers since. No other bakeries in the area even begin to compare. Their chocolate conchas are my absolute favorite. My husband loves their elotes and cuernitos. Those are always a must for us to pick up. We are also in love with their tamales de queso. We've been pretty lucky and only once were they out of tamales when we stopped by. Most recently, we tried their gelatina de café and their arroz con leche. They're both yummy, but the gelatina de cafe is so creamy and rich it's hard to not be addicted! Especially if you're a coffee lover, this gelatina is an absolute must! The store is pretty small so sometimes on busy days (like Sundays) it's really jam packed in there because everyone is fighting to buy their menudo. I liked it better when they had a sign asking for only a few families to come in at once and for everyone else to make line outside. If you're in the area, and even if you're not, this is the place to go to for tamales, pan Dulce, and other goodies that they also have! read more

This is NOT my favorite bakery I usually drive all the way to Fontana for fresh Mexican bread but needed some bolillos & decided to come here after of course reading so many high reviews, I purchased bolillos & when I got home I noticed mostly all of them were burnt! What a disappointment! (Posting pic) so check your bolillos before even paying for it. By the way when buying bolillos the cashier gives them to you in a bag that's why I didn't notice it until I got home. read more

Super delicious, very fresh and has a big selection. The jello was fire too! We tried the peach one!

They put your bread in a plastic bag, I don't think that's very sanitary but as I'm standing there while she's putting it in the bag I'm reading the hand written signs on the wall and for 25 cents you can get a box for your bread. It was my first time here so I didn't know and it was never offered. Also the only conchas I found were smashed, I don't know if maybe this is their way of making them. Also I think the prices were a little too high. I think their specialty is tamales and champurrado. So for the one butter cookie I got seems to be good. Customer service was meh read more

We got tamales and several different breads for Xmas eve. Everyone loved the tamales and sweetbread. I really enjoyed the pastry that has strawberry jelly roll with coconut flakes on the outside. Omg I could not stop going back and eating it. I ended up having two whole pieces. I wanted to get some other stuff like the champpurado but I forgot when I got there to pick some up. I'll have to try it again soon because this is by far the best panaderia in the area. read more
