Just moved to the area from L.A. and was on the hunt for champurraro and Yvette's bakery appeared in my search via Yelp so I decided to check it out and let's just say I've gained a few more pounds thanks to Yvette. Went in to try for the first time based off the Tamale reviews/comments on Facebook. Picked up some bread while we were there... would recommend a better way to select bread vs. placing on trays without a liner... seemed kinda germy. Ordered a half dozen pork tamales and when I felt the bag when I got home I realized they were room temp.. not hot or cold. The bread was of average quality, Somewhat dry but it was later in the day, so perhaps earlier in the morning the bread is fresher. I would suggest trying it in the morning when bread is typically put out fresh for the day. read more

love this place, being as it's the only pan dulce place near by. I'm from Boyle Heights so moving here was a big change to not have one on every corner. So they definitely provide what I need for my coffee. Their tamales, are good just a little to much masa and this past weekend I grabbed some tamales the cheese ones were 100% wrapped in old masa. They didn't have the chocolate flan when I went :-( I didn't see them in any cases), however, they did have tamales in which the lady behind the counter said they make everyday. All of the tamales had a lil' kick to it, so if you don't like spice you may not like it. They had a nice assortment of bakery items. All of the ones we had tasted pretty darn good. I had the jalepeno n' cheese bread and it tasted very good to me. I've had it at other panderias and the one here was a lot bigger than other places I've had it. Parking can be a bit tricky because the parking area is small considering the number of businesses in this tiny shopping center. Maybe park at the Mexican restaurant next door and just walk over is about the only suggestion. Overall this is a pretty good place. Hopefully it stays that way! :-) read more

Best tamales within 50 miles. Their tamales are meaty and well seasoned. The masa is moist and just the right amount. Perfect for family gatherings or potluck. So glad they got it right. This place is located in a little strip mall, I came here for the tamales and notices all the bread so I ordered that as well. I ordered 3 cheese 3 chicken 3 pork, These are the only flavors they have. The cheese has jalapenos inside, the chicken has green chili sauce inside, the pork is a red sauce almost taste like they cooked the pork in enchilada sauce. Delicious! I stopped by randomly for bolillos since this place is near my Dr.'s office. The bolillos were fresh out the oven. A day later, they're still soft, fluffy, and delicious. I also had a cream roll, which was good and a churro that I have yet to eat. The employee who helped me was pleasant and after learning that this was my first time there, she offered me a free tamale to try. I am not a tamale fan, but their cheese tamale was delicious! Must try the tamale de Pollo verde just enough sauce and flavorful in each bite. I put mine inside there freshly made bollio which mas the most epic torta de tamale. Conchas are warm and soft even 15 min after we left the bakery. It's a must to stop by and have a tamale and Conchitas. read more
