Engine bay intake (they did install, but left off…read moreone of the O rings - even if it was missing PRIOR to them installing - a quality shop would let you know, get a replacement O ring, and make sure it's properly installed prior to handing your keys back). They charge a premium on labor and have high school / college kids doing the actual work. Springs - During spring install, they punctured my OEM auxiliary radiator and then proceeded to argue with me over providing me a replacement (yes the replacement part is a step up from OEM, but NO it wasn't something I planned to do at that point, and surely wasn't expecting to pay for it!) Exhaust - had them install a single midpipe. Left with an awful rattle at low RPMs, had to take it back a few days later, wait for 2-3 hours, and they couldn't figure it out. I did my own research and found valve controllers which fixed the problem - the fact they had no idea and sent me on me way just tells you how little these "techs" know and how poor the quality of work is over here. Reach out for an excellent referral I've been working with since. Much more reasonable labor, very transparent and honest, and actually does all the hands on work himself instead of subbing to junior techs.

It was "hard to fix" and "the owner Andrew had to get involved." Not once was I called, consulted, or asked to approve these additional charges. The basic rule of any reputable shop -- get authorization before tripling the price -- was completely ignored. When I questioned the charge, I was given a long, condescending lecture about the complexity of BMWs. I decided to pay the bill just to get my car back and be done with the situation. But the worst was yet to come. The door handle is now completely broken -- I can't even open the door from the inside. I had a certified BMW master technician inspect the car, who confirmed the handle was damaged due to poor installation. In other words, Bavarian Motors not only overcharged me without permission, they also botched the job. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I expected competent work and professional communication. What I got was unauthorized charges, subpar workmanship, and a broken vehicle. Avoid Bavarian Motors at all costs. There are plenty of reputable shops out there -- this isn't one of them.

Rebuild the clutch, flush and recharge the AC for $2800 with no warranty. The other was to replace the compressor and all associated parts for $6000 with a warranty. I paid the $195 diagnostic fee and took our vehicle to another shop nearby. They replaced the compressor, checked all the other components, flushed/recharged and warrantied the parts and labor for $2300. Blackwell may do good work but their prices to me are not reasonable and I won't be considering them in the future.

I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.
