Bottom pic is #38 and the top was I forgot what number but there's rice wrapped inside the leaf.

Came here today and we enjoyed the food very much! Even ordered #38 for Togo but also one to eat there. Hands down the best we ever had in Mediterranean food! Ive tried hummus at other places before but this hummus was so flavorful and garlicky! Everything was soooo good! And the service and people were very hospitalitable and nice! We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

My sister and I brought our parents here for lunch after our train trip and we were AMAZED at how absolutely delicious the food was! When we walked in the owner welcomed us (and our copious amount of bags) in and showed us the fresh skewers to pick what we wanted. He helped us situate the table and within a few minutes we had hot, fresh delicious kabobs and right off the grill! My dad is Middle Eastern and he was so happy to get an authentic taste of home. Do not miss this hidden GEM in LA! Get #4 with Chicken and Beef Kabobs with rice, onion and grilled peppers. We will be back!

    Beef gyro plate!

My favorite dish super tasty has a right balance of rice, salad, and yummy sides. Every time I want have a cozy home-cooked meal, I always come to Dream Kabob. Perfect balance of flavors totally satisfies my taste buds. 10/10 recommendation

Meal #38. Chicken Breast and beef shish with salad

Came to the fashion district and came across a video on TikTok promoting this restaurant, I came by to eat and was super satisfied because they have great service and their food is 1000% authentic with really good flavor. The cooks were so nice will definitely come again. Very clean aswell!!

    1. Boneless Chicken Thigh with Rice. Sorry for the bad pic but we killed the plate.

The staff & service is 5 star. They were so nice and telling me about the dishes & what to try. The ambiance is like a burger stand type. The food is good. Hummus, the stuff you sprinkle in the rice, the grilled tomatoes, and the chicken was seasoned and cooked right. Next time I'll go for grilled onions instead of fresh cut. I'm definitely going back to try the salmon. The price is a lil high for the portion size but it's good food.

We found this place accidentally and loved the food and the service. We will definitely comeback.

Nice little restaurant with kind owner and plenty of delicious food variety. Made my trip to LA special! Thanks.

Have tried this place twice, just to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke. The shish is criminally overcooked and prices are crazy.

A…read morehusband-and-wife team has taken Middle Eastern fusion next-level on all fronts, centered in the ARTS DISTRICT - if you sit in the bar, you can eat under a waterfall of pathos & take suggestions from SAM & MULLIN. Food is best enjoyed family-style, but not if you don't want to share, as in my case. It's magical in the way only LA can be, beautiful because Genevieve is hands-on with artful touches (in atmosphere and PASTRIES), and 100% delicious for all senses. To begin, CHERRY TOMATO a BOMB @ss party in my mouth!!! One dish that's actually more delicious than it is beautiful (and it IS both) - silken feta, like yogurt without fermentation, underlies genuinely sweet cherry tomatoes and strawberries that are a bright, fruity POP next to roasted harissa & cilantro - cuts through like FIRECRACKERS with sesame crunch. It's MAGIC. Second, some FRIED QUAIL - THE MOST ELEGANT fried thing I've ever eaten, and I mean that in the BEST way. SO tender, moist quail in the crispiest, tastiest buttermilk semolina coating with XO (a little bit spicy, a lotta bit savory - not ashamed to say I licked the plate) and a sprinkling of ROSE petals. GET IT, SHARE IT, no more than 2 per plate (and you may want an encore...). THIRD, an otherworldly DUCK HUMMUS - SMOOTH like butter, SAVORY like 'NDUJA and slightly curried with fluffy HOT PITA fresh from the oven. I dare you to find better, please tell me if you do. A proverbial cherry-on-top (except this one is a...) PEACH TART! Perfect peaches fanned over a buttery crust that melts in the mouth - it's a marrying of barely-there crust and creamy center (underlying whip is barely sweet, like happy clouds). My greatest disappointment is not having friends to share my delight & order more - I have no doubts everything on the menu is equally exceptional, and CANNOT WAIT for the day we return together!

We went to Bavel for a special dinner and, overall, had a good experience, although it was…read moredefinitely on the pricey side. I made an OpenTable reservation about 10-15 minutes before arriving, and I'm glad I did because there was already a short line when we got there. There's valet parking for $13 for smaller cars/SUVs and $20 for larger trucks, plus tip, so definitely factor that into the meal cost. Street parking looked pretty difficult, so we were happy to just hand over the keys and not worry about it. Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant is beautiful, and as you walk toward the dining room, you can see the fire blazing in the background. Unfortunately, our table was close enough to the fire that one side of us was basically being slow-roasted. We asked to move, and the staff was incredibly nice and switched us to another table immediately. Food-wise, this was definitely a mixed bag. The 26 oz prime ribeye ($185) was the biggest disappointment. I know it's an expensive special-occasion dish, and I saw a Yelp review calling it 10/10, so we thought, why not? Sadly, it was probably the worst ribeye I've ever had. There was a lot of silver skin/tough connective tissue throughout the meat, and for $185, I just don't think it was worth it. 1/5 for me. The grilled prawns were my favorite dish of the night and were excellent. My husband loved the lamb neck shawarma ($61). It was a little too rich for me, but I can see why he liked it, and at $61, it actually felt like one of the better values of the meal. We also enjoyed the duck hummus. The hummus with two pieces of pita was $19, but that definitely wasn't enough for three people, so we ordered two more pieces for another $10. That brought us to $29 for hummus and four pieces of pita. Delicious? Yes. A bargain? Absolutely not. Even in California, that's a lot of pita math. We also tried the Samira cocktail ($18), which they said was their most popular drink. It was good, but not particularly memorable for that price. There's also a 4% "Healthy LA" charge, so that's something to keep in mind when looking at the menu prices. For three people, our total was about $375 before tip, or a little over $120 per person. That's actually more than we spent at Nobu, so yes, I think Bavel is overpriced. But was the food good overall? Also yes. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd probably come back for the grilled prawns and maybe the shawarma. But the $185 ribeye? That one can stay at Bavel.

You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) Could be because it was Sunday and there was a Farmers Market nearby, but still something to consider. We ordered the Lamb Plate ($26). Portion was solid and the plate is actually pretty interesting -- lots of different sides (flatbread, greens, olives, pickled turnips, etc.), so it doesn't feel boring. That said, the lamb itself was just a few small pieces and it was ground. I would've preferred more actual meat Tried the rosemary lemonade too, but didn't really taste any rosemary. Just a regular lemonade, slightly sweet and sour. Also you pay upfront right after ordering. We sat outside on a small patio facing Glendale Blvd. It's a tight space, and at one point someone from the street was walking around nearby talking to themselves, which made the experience a bit less comfortable. Staff was friendly and service was quick though, no issues there. Also, no public restroom, so keep that in mind. Overall, not bad. I was hungry, so I finished everything pretty fast, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to make a special trip again.
