The noodles were cooked well, they were chewy and savory. I didn't like how the beef was chopped up like ground beef, and I couldn't really taste the beef. I like the fried crab rolls. Service was fast. People working there would always check to make sure we had everything we needed and was very nice. I did not enjoy the drinks or food here. The Thai tea tasted watered down and the coffee did not have much depth to the flavor. I was excited to try the tapioca noodle soup because of the chewy texture that was mentioned but the noodles were soggy and not chewy. The noodles were breaking off from my spoon every time I picked it up. The red curry noodle soup was pretty good and had a nice kick to it. When I went for dinner it was right before 6:00pm and they let me know that the tapioca noodle dish I ordered was the last one they had. I believe the place closes at 10:00pm but their options might be limited so it might be smart to call and check what was available before driving down. The inside of the restaurant did not have much seating but it also seemed like it was a popular take-out spot and not many were looking to dine in, which made it easy for me to find seating. recently visited this spot, which seems to cater more to takeout than dine-in service. I ordered the tofu Pad Thai with level 3 spice and a Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was pre-prepared and stored in the fridge. While I appreciate the convenience of having it ready, I typically expect Thai iced tea to be freshly mixed before serving for better flavor and presentation. As for the Pad Thai, it was flavorful, and I enjoyed the dish overall. I think I could have gone for a higher spice level next time to suit my taste. However, I did find the portion size a bit smaller compared to what I've received at other places, and the Thai iced tea also felt a little undersized. I have been to Zaap many times and it has always been good. However, I have to leave a 1 star review for the worst food I have ever had today. I made my husband come early and we waited outside until they opened the doors and if I could review just for the staff it would be 5 stars, but the food was just not cutting it. Especially on Mothers Day. We came starving, whatever was going to come out of the kitchen we ate but the pad kee mao beef didn't even have big slices of beef like you can see in the other pictures.....it was literally like leftover little droplets of minced beef...how does this happen when we are the first customers? Did they run out of beef? we ate all the noodles and left the beef. The heavenly beef jerky was fried to a crisp it wasn't like it normally is (usually kind of juicy but jerky-like and flavorful) it tasted like a bad burnt potato chip. Lao iced coffee was disgusting, only thing you could taste was the smokey flavor. They could not make adjustments because it was premade. Papaya salad mild was not flavorful just fish sauce and lemon juice maybe?? Half of the food went in the trash. $50 to only go and eat somewhere else after. The eggrolls were good and the sticky rice (but its just sticky rice so hard to mess up). VERY VERY disappointed. I am half thai. I have always loved this place but I definitely will not be back to this location. read more

10/10 would recommend! It's hard enough to find good food, but Lao food is even harder to find where I'm from. Zaap is a Lao and Thai street food type of vibe! It's on the smaller side, but the flavors are what you will come here for. On a level of authenticity, you got it right here! Service was quick and easy and friendly. I would definitely come back and try everything on their menu when I'm back in town. I wish they had a Zaap in Maryland. Keep the great tasting food coming Zaap! Great beef drunken noodles if ordered with extra noodles. All the rest of the food is a total pass in my opinion. And we have ordered in about 15 yikes. I don't recommend one extracting, and certainly warn you to stay away from all of the soups, they are watery and tasteless. Pad Thai is just meh. Pad See Ew doesn't taste. Chicken basil stir fry spice level 3 had no taste-it taste noise it had been cooked or "stir-fried" in tepid gray water. Beef jerky was super tough. Fresh spring rolls are all lettuce. Boring! Cream cheese rolls are extremely fishy and soggy. Yucko. Only reason to order from here are their beef drunken noodle spice level 3, or they are bland too. read more

This place is a must stop if you are in the area. The food was yummy and the service was quick. The place is small so it's not that great for groups but you can always take Togo! The prices are good for what you get and the spice rating is great. I normally do a level 4 and it was exactly the kick that I needed. I had the pad kee mao which is one of my favorites when getting Thai food and it perfectly hit the spot. Great tasting ingredients and made well. I went with a friend and she also enjoyed her food. My order included crispy veggie spring rolls; fresh rolls with tofu and peanut sauce; pineapple fried rice with shrimp and level 3 spiciness; laab salad with chicken & zapp spicy; and yellow curry, no meat and level 3. Both sets of rolls were fresh and tasted as though they were made to order. My dipping sauces (sweet & sour and peanut) tasted house made. The fried rice was perfectly studded with pineapple chunks, cashews, raisins, shrimp, veggies, and seasonings. I had to stop myself from eating the whole bowl of yellow curry. It was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavors. The Laab salad was layered with delish flavors. Level 3 heat is not at all hot to me, but that was OK because the food is so good. Was in the area and stumbled upon this Lao restaurant in Fort Worth, University area! I wanted to order the khao poon gai chicken (curry noodle soup) just to try it to see if it's good. Cus I'm a little picky with my Khao poon. Wow, totally impressed! I was slurping the broth up! So good and flavorful, just how I like it! If you know me, you know I absolutely love Pad See Ew. It is my go-to dish every time I'm at Thai restaurant. The pad see ew here is easily the top two I've ever had. The noodles were cooked perfectly and absorbed all of the sweet soy sauce. The star of the dish was the beef. The beef is usually the afterthought since it's almost always a lean, lower grade meat, but not here. Every single piece was juicy and tender and you could even see the marbling. I could not stop raving about the beef to my fiancée. They also didn't skimp on it either so kudos to Zaap. The dish overall was a bit on the smaller side, but the flavors and the beef made up for it. I will be dreaming about these noodles for years to come. read more

Decided to stop in for some soup on a cold and wet day . I had no idea that this place existed but was craving Tum Yum soup and saw that it was fairly new. Finally found it tucked in a corner. On this day, rain was coming in at the bottom of the door and they had a towel to soak it up. I was shocked over how quaint the restaurant was so not the best for large parties. I ordered from this location and found a long black hair in my coconut water. I ordered the Laotian combo set, which was fine. Sausage was undercooked but edible (I hope). I called the restaurant notifying them of the hair in the drink and after a long hold/conversation was told to take it up with UberEats because I "ordered on their platform." ...I don't think that's how it works. I absolutely love garlic with meat so I couldn't stop eating it. I enjoyed it with the sticky rice it came with along with the papaya salad. I can't believe I overlooked this place. It's now my favorite Thai place on this side of town! On a very rare, occasion, I get too excited to take pictures of the food; and this happens to be the case. Sorry folks! I'll capture these dishes next time. To stay on course, let's talk about the grub. *Pad Thai: I had the pad Thai chicken noodle with mild spice, and it was packed with vibrant flavors along with an irresistible balance of sweet and salty. Next time, I'm cranking up the spices since mild did not bring that heat. *Curry fried rice: The rice was so fragrant, and my taste buds were dancing with every bite. Think the opposite of bland! I'm very impressed with how tasty it was. *Lao Iced Coffee: It may taste a little on the sweet side for me, but the caffeine was no joke. That strong coffee made my face flush for 15 minutes! My brother had the Thai iced tea, and finished it in a jiffy. They also have macron ice cream sandwiches if you have room for dessert. I have my eyes on their red curry dish next time. For being a takeout/express style restaurant, they have a lot of variety on their menu. Items like papaya salad and larb are not normally found at more Americanized restaurants so that's a plus. The chicken wings and garlic spare ribs are delicious. Larb did lack lime flavor. Laos fried rice & pad see ew were both good. Their Thai tea is poured ahead of time and cups are labeled with a use by date then stored in the fridge so I wasn't a huge fan of that. The mango sticky rice also was done ahead, closed off in a togo box so the mango itself got soggy from the warmth. The restaurant has very limited seating so it's probably best to take out as seating to dine in is not promised. Over all, for a quick and easy take out this place will do the job. I enjoyed the location. You can see the water while waiting for your food and there's places around to get dessert after in the same shopping center. read more
