ones my Vietnamese friend recommended #45
    Jenny N.

Traditional service of an authentic joint, pretty slow, not great. water tastes terrible in this part of town so get a coffee or coconut water or smoothie. One cook and one waiting tables and taking to-go orders. the economy is tough, we need to be out supporting these small family owned places! Food was great, I did light noodles which made it more like a salad it was so good! Will be back to try more. Big dining room, parking lot holds about 10 cars or so. Used to come here all the time!

My family has been coming to Lius for years. Always fresh and fast!

The best pho broth around - hands down. You can tell the difference immediately. So many places use powder base for their broth and it is immediately noticeable that Lieu's doesn't take any shortcuts. Lots of beef bone, onion and spices like star anise make her broth stand above others. The staff members and Lieu herself make you feel at home with their sweet smiles and offer to get you what you need. Like being in a friend's kitchen. I consider myself lucky every time I visit. I hope you get lucky too! Thank you Lieu. We love having you in the Fort Worth community and we hope you'll be around for a long time to come.

The food is Mid. definitely over priced. portion not worth the price at all. I spent 40.00 dining in. and that's ridiculous. the give maybe one meatball one piece of each meat maybe. and in the combination rice, the salad shrimp was cut in half. Will not be returning here. Idc how bad I am craving pho. Customer service was very nice. Bathroom was extra dirty. Pee all around the toilet seat bo

This is a family owned business. You will always see the owners there cooking and doing like everything. The pho broth is cooked for more than 24 hours to allow it to fully develop in depth and flavor! The menu is huge and there is something for everyone! My families favorite place to go and Eat. We've been eating there for years! The building is showing some wear over The years but the food is amazing and always cooked to order. Portions are of a good size and you can ask for them to explain a dish if your not sure how it comes When you have a big group the order does take awhile to bring it out but remember everything is cooked to order Give them I try and I'm sure you will be coming back again

I can eat soup any time of the year. Make it a noodle soup and I'm even happier. But if you're one to avoid soups when it's hotter than heck in the summer, Lieu's offers rice dishes and refreshing noodle salads as well. My favorite is the bun bo xao which is essentially a rice noodle salad topped with sauteed beef. I appreciate that the noodles are always cooked perfectly. It's loaded with cool veggies, and I love the toasted crushed peanuts on top. Add chili garlic sauce to the fish sauce first and then drizzle it over the salad...yum! You can also get the noodle salad with grilled beef, chicken, or pork and with or without an eggroll as well. They also have your usual dishes such as fried rice and stir fried noodles. If you're craving Viet food and your first thought is pho, come try their other dishes! I assure you it is nice and cool in here and a great place to escape the summer heat. The customer service is always friendly and efficient. I've been coming here for the past 14 years starting at their previous location in Lake Worth. Same owner all these years and she is super sweet. I'm glad to have a Viet spot nearby for my work lunches and come almost weekly.

I made the mistake of bringing my own water bottle (left)In order to eat there you must buy their water bottle (right).

They could allow personal water bottles and not make you purchase their water bottles. It feels like if they could charge for air they would. Definitely not my vibe and prices seem unreasonable. Will take my business elsewhere.

The only pho worth eating in DFW! I had the eye round pho and it was beautifully crafted. Highly recommend!

Food was very mediocre compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I have experienced. I thought i would give it a try, but i wasn't impressed.

Love this Vietnamese restaurant for a local Fort Worth location. Hope you enjoy, the Pho beef broth is great and the Pork Vermicelli bowl.

Big win for my fellow veg heads too, there are plenty of customizable options which I always appreciate. That said, both my husband's dish and mine felt a little muted. We were chasing that classic Vietnamese fragrance, a little more salt, a little more spice, and ended up doing some DIY with sriracha and extra jalapeños to get there. It definitely wasn't bad by any means, just not quite hitting that craveable level that brings you back the next day.

My husband always orders the spicy filet mignon pho, and it never disappoints. The broth has a nice kick, and the filet mignon is tender and flavorful. I usually like trying something different each visit aside from the spicy pho, and so far I've enjoyed the curry plate with grilled shrimp, sliced grilled pork, Korean BBQ short ribs, shaken beef, and the beef stew. Every dish we've tried has been satisfying, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. The service is always friendly and quick, even when they're busy. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and a nice place to relax for a casual meal.

While the bahn mi isn't exactly traditional, it is still very good -- I'd highly suggest getting it with the pate. The sampler appetizer has a little bit of everything and is great for sharing. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. Pad Thai also great! If you're a spicy eater like me, just go for very spicy. They have 4 spice levels (mild, medium, spicy, very spicy) and this is a reminder to myself to get very spicy next time. Thanks for the delicious meals!

A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.
