First time trying this restaurant. Larb is one of my favorite Thai dishes so this is what I ordered (with chicken). Wow, easily the best larb I've had in a long time. Delicious! I had it with sticky rice which is my custom and it was fabulous. The serving size was large, I had it again for dinner and even had some leftover. My only concern was that I like Larb with a cabbage wedge and the menu said that it came with cabbage. It came with a wedge of iceberg lettuce. I will return with friends to try the other dishes! The food in the atmosphere were great. The staff was super friendly pose with a smile. Today I had soup and egg rolls. The eggrolls were fantastic. Nice and hot and very clean and tasty. The soup for somebody who likes spicy this would've been great. The flavors really popped. By myself don't like food that spicy. Apparently I'm a wimp because she said it was a two of 10 hotness. My Wife's friends from work suggested this place as we would be)) in the area at another store looking for a mattress. After walking and looking at things, my hunger was immense. It was a bitterly cold and windy night. Parking was easy but after walking up to the entrance we found better parking right up front. There was no way we were going back into the wind for better parking. We made jokes and went inside. The internet said this place had "vibrant decor." I had no idea what that meant. I know now! It's colorful inside. Kinda cute. I thought the fake/real living wall was cool. They have a t.v. showing food and life in Thailand. It was awesome. A lot of the video was about food vendors and how much the food costs. Everything was 1/5th the cost you'd get charged for the same thing if it was the U.S.A. The waitstaff was on top of service. It was awesome. My Wife ordered a Thai Tea and I had beer. The tea was yummy but a little sweet for her. I was super hungry and we ordered a lot of food. The portions are good size and the prices were decent for being near the airport. We ordered 2 Salad Rolls. 1 Prawn and 1 Tofu and a Spring Roll. The Garden Rolls came with 3 different sauces. All three were absolutely delicious. 1. A Thai Peanut Sauce that was to die for. The leftovers I scooped onto my Pad thai as extra sauce. 2. Was a Miso Sauce that reminded me of a Chimichurri Sauce. I wasn't sure wich of the two sauces i liked more. Sauce # 3 was also very delicious. I forget what it was called. I looked up the menu online but didn't figure it out. Either way it was yummy. Not as much as the other 2 sauces but all 3 sauces were amazing. The Spring Rolls were good and crunchy, the sauce was sweet and flavorful. I judge all Thai Restaurants by the Pad Thai. We both had pad Thai. I had prawns, she ordered chicken. The plate presentation at Zab Pinto is beautiful. I loved the look of everything that came out of the kitchen. Our Pad Thai was no different. We both said "wow" when our food was set down. I was upset that I couldn't dive into my pad Thai. I tried but I'm pretty sure they use lava to cook food, lol. No problem, we still had appetizers to finish. After some chatting and waiting, finally, our food cooled down enough and I dove in head first. The prawns were cooked perfectly and the Pad Thai was one of the best I've ever had. I've eaten pad Thai at restaurants from Gresham to the coast and Zab has it figured out. The sauce was almost like butter in flavor. I wondered if they actually used butter. I wanted to ask but, sometimes it's the mystery that brings me back. After seeing all the curry other people ordered. My Wife and I are already wanting to come back for the curry. There is a bunch of items I want to try. The food here has to be the best Thai food I've had in PDX the sauces that come with the food are amazing. The service was good and there was only one waitress busting 7 tables at once and she did amazing. Every dish came out freshly made nothing was pre prepped. Best peanut sauce I've had ever. We ordered the crab rolls with the plum sauce and tofu rolls to start both were tasty. The pineapple curry and the garlic crispy pork with cucumber and cilantro both came with their Jasmin rice both dishes didn't disappoint at all. The ambiance was cute and esthetic pleasing the outside doesn't look like much but I gave this place a try for the first time and defiantly will be coming back for more. The Thai tea is also deliciously made. We didn't take pictures of our food but I'll defiantly next time. Pricing wasn't bad for the ethnic food they are serving. Wanted to eat before doing some shopping. My friend was craving thai food, so luckily there was one here we could try. There was a menu with a bunch of lunch specials, which I believe runs till 2:30. The Pad thai tom yum caught my eye as I had never seen that on a menu before. They offer several different options for what you can add to it. I went with the chicken spice level medium, but they also had options like pork belly & seafood which you don't see offered often. Wow, this was really good! It was like pad thai noodles, but with the tom yum flavor. So flavorful & the medium spice was perfect. Portion was big enough to where I could take the other home. For starters when you walk in you are greeted with the cutest VW Bus and beautiful decor. The service was slow at first, they got us seated right away but after that it took a bit for them to get to our table for drink and food orders. Once we placed our order food was hitting our table as fast as it was coming out from the pass. They didn't wait for everyone's order so the food was coming hot. We got one appetizer, 4 main dishes, and one dessert for a family of 6 and it was the perfect amount. Every dish was amazing; full of flavor, vegetables cooked perfectly, and not greasy at all. I've tried many Thai places and this place tops them all. We got 2 stir fry dishes, one noodle dish and one curry dish each with their own flavor profiles. To say I'm a happy customer is an understatement. Will definitely be returning in the near future. read more

As soon as I walked through the door, I could hear Jen greeting me, and she was so welcoming. When I asked how long they had been open, she informed me that it was their fifth week and also let me know about their other locations and their hours. I come to PDX frequently and stay at the Aloft hotel, which is about a 5-minute walk from here. I love Thai food, so I was pleasantly surprised when a friend told me they had opened! I ordered my usuals: Thai iced tea, salad rolls with chicken, and chicken Pad See Ew. Jen immediately brought out my Thai iced tea with the perfect tea-to-cream ratio, and within minutes, the salad rolls arrived. The rolls came with peanut sauce and another green sauce. I'm not sure what the green sauce was, but it was creamy and delicious (I forgot to ask what it was, but it was amazing)! Next was my main course, Pad See Ew. I would say the presentation was awesome, and the noodles had to be the freshest I've ever had in that dish! The flavor was spot on and probably the best I've ever eaten. If you live or work near Cascade Station, please eat here! It's the newest location, and I want to make sure they have plenty of business so they stick around for a long time. Tamarind cocktail was a refreshing way to start the meal, not over powering. Salad rolls, coconut shrimp, larb, and pad kra prow were par for the course, meaning good, not great, but I'd order again. Papaya salad was underwhelming , needs more heat. Slice beef (Beef salad I think) was very good, especially the green dipping sauce. So why the low review? The sever basically chased us out 15 minutes before closing time on a Friday night. She started mopping the floor and kept making excuses for a simple mango sticky rice dessert that was taking so long. Finally, she said "come back another time" as a large party sat down. It looked like friends/family of the staff. Lastly, 3 of us had queasy stomaches a few hours later. I'm absolutely thrilled that there is a Thai restaurant at Cascade Station. Finally. What took so long! Cascade Station is a frequent shopping destination for me because I'm a huge fan of Marshall's, and this is one of just 3 Marshall's in Portland area, and I love the Home Goods, Target and IKEA. Rarely do I ever grab food while I'm there, even if I'm hitting up all of these stores. None if the existing restaurants appeal to me, especially if I just want to pick up food to take home for dinner. Until now. Since Pad Kee Mao, aka Drunkin Noodles. is my favorite Thai dish, that's what I ordered. Typically this dish doesn't come with enough protein for me, so proactively I order extra chicken. the chicken was tender, not overcooked, which is a big plus and not always the case. the wide rice noodles had a nice chew, and veggies perfectly stirred. Ambiance is nice, although I didn't eat there, next time I probably will because I prefer my food hot. The service was friendly and efficient. So happy to know that after a shopping trip, when I don't feel like cooking when I get home, I now have a convenient place to stop and grab dinner on my way out of Cascade Station. read more

Ok, so I drove to Portland thinking my go to Thai restaurant was open today but it was closed. Needed an alternate near by as authentic as my go to spot. Searched for Thai restaurants near me and Pad Pinto Thai was one of the first restaurants that came up and had the best rating. It was 7 minutes away - let's go for it! I tell you, I am glad that I did. It is in the Cascade Station. Parking lot was packed but I found a space directly in sight of the restaurant (go figure). The place is nice! Great decor! Spacious! Bright! I was warmly welcomed and seated then served water in a nice glass. I looked over than menu and in my experience if it's really an authentic Thai place - there's an altar/shrine (yes), the green papaya salad is served with a wedge of cabbage, and the red curry is good. I ordered the papaya salad and the red curry with chicken. Yes! Authentic Thai! It satisfied the taste I was craving (not 100% but close enough). Friendly atmosphere. Fast service! Portion size was good. Price was only a few dollars more than usual but I bet they pay higher rent in their location. Authentic Thai! Fully stocked bar (I don't drink) for those who do drink. I had the Thai Iced green tea with coconut milk. Delicious! This place will be an Alternate go to spot especially when I'm flying out from PDX! read more

This review is for the location at the Wells Fargo center. The Good: nice size portions for lunch, fairly fast service. The Bad: The food's pretty blah. The Pad Thai was all noodles with a little sauce. About a half cup of tofu pieces, a tablespoon of sprouts, and a dusting of peanuts. The Pad Cashew was a little better. The Ugly: I asked to make the food vegan. I think the Pad Thai was, but the Pad Cashew smelled strongly of fish sauce. To confirm, I emailed the restaurant, but even after a few exchanges they were unable or unwilling to let me know which specials were vegan. The Alternative: You're much better off walking literally one block to the Thai food cart at Columbia and SW 6th. The food's much better and they understand how to accommodate requests. read more

The place is very nice and cozy, and the staff were very efficient and pleasant. However, the dish that I ordered which is a specialty did not taste as good as I had expected. This is supposed to be similar to Hainanese chicken over rice, but the chicken was tasteless. The sauce they gave me to dip the chicken tasted like fermented black beans with a hint of sweetness, which was not what I was expecting. What surprised me at the end was that there was no sales tax on my bill! Wow, I just remembered that Oregon does not have sales tax so the price was great as I only needed to add a tip. It made me realize how much more we Californians have to pay for eating out, but our cities are not better and better run with all the taxes that we have to pay. read more

The Crab Rangoon was first class. One should expect that for $2 each (order is 5 pcs.). The duck noodle was "unremarkable" in flavor, and for the portion served at $26, not worth it. The presentation in the bowl was also a bit odd, IMO. Big bunch of vermicelli, a little duck breast, and all of the other toppings (mung bean sprouts, baby Bok Choy, were buried at the bottom of the bowl under the mostly noodles portion. I've spent plenty of time in food & beverage over my lifetime, and understand food costing. Including ingredients, labor, and allocated space, the duck noodles are $6/7 max cost for $26, and not that great, by any means. You can't float a shaky restaurant with so-so dishes and a higher price, unless your clientele doesn't know anything about the particular cuisine. This was a disappointment overall, because Crab Rangoon is an appetizer, not a main dish. read more

We got the calamari sticks and they didn't taste fresh and instead something that was frozen heated up or fried again. The massaman curry was mid at best with its flavor and the rice was alright. Ordered a papaya salad, probably the worse I've ever had.. the shrimp wasn't even meat.. it was an entire shrimp the size of a finger nail and no meat inside. A lil disappointing but still opened minding and positive to enjoy good food. 2. Ordered the Duck Curry, pretty decent.. but very small amount of duck.. probably less than $6 worth.. I'd be surprised if it was much more than 4 oz.. and yet the entre was almost $30 with tax.. WOW! Papaya salad appetizer and simple duck curry costing over $42 together.. So overall, very bad price, bad meat portions, and I had gotten the pad Thai to go, and they didn't put any utensils or napkins in with it. Failed at really basic stuff.. They have the profit tricks of a business model down knowing it's a chain.. which is probably why it even exists like that. I'd be surprised if they have any regular customers. 100% would NOT recommend! read more

First of all the experience in itself was great! The noodle dishes were delicious! We got seated right away. The price was average for the food. The only disappointing thing was we ordered an egg roll plate, it was good until we noticed the pork meat wasn't cooked, we tried to ask one of the waitresses there and she completely ignored us. We then got another really nice waitress who we let know that the meat was raw she took the plate away right away. However after we were trying to leave she gave us a receipt with the egg roll plate taken off of our receipt, then we noticed after we paid that they actually never took it off and we got charged for it. read more
