    28. Crab Fried Rice and 26. Pad See Ew
    Stephanie S.

Beautiful decor and comfortable dining room. There are a few outside seats with a roll up door bringing in that outside breeze and fresh air. For the chilly days they have a nice fireplace. They just opened recently so forgiving any missteps and looking forward to giving this place another try. The food was good but knowing that they are capable of better. Love the variety of Thai iced teas and they have a nice cocktail and beer menu.

Fried tofu pad see ew + crab wontons

I've been patiently awaiting for this place to open and finally seen the grand opening banner. I ordered take out: fried tofu pad see ew with crab wontons. The website gave me about a 20 minute wait but it was ready in probably half the time. They have a great set up inside and I'd love to sit down next time. The food was delicious (I eat a lot of Thai) and the noodles had a genuine good flavor. I definitely judge a place by their noodles so I'm definitely going to explore the menu further. Glad to have a good place so close, I normally have to drive all the way to Beaverton. Great spot!

A Flavorful Escape in Hillsboro! If you haven't made the…read moretrip to Top Burmese Ambassador on Main Street, you are missing out on one of the most unique and soulful dining experiences in the Portland area. While the original NW 21st location is a classic, the "Ambassador" location in Hillsboro feels like a true elevation of the brand, combining incredible hospitality with a menu that is a masterclass in Burmese flavors. Here is why this spot is an absolute 5-star gem: The Tea Leaf Salad (Laphet Thoke): You cannot visit a Top Burmese location without ordering this. It is the gold standard--fermented tea leaves mixed with crunchy peanuts, toasted sesame, fried garlic, and fresh lime. It's a texture and flavor explosion that is unlike anything else in Southeast Asian cuisine. The Golden Samosas: These are a "super duper" must-order. They are flaky, perfectly spiced, and served with a house-made sauce that provides the perfect tangy kick. If you want something even more comforting, their Samosa Soup is the ultimate rainy-day cure. Standout Mains: The Coconut Noodle Soup (Khao Soi) is incredibly rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of creaminess. For a more savory, hearty option, the Beef Curry with Pan-Toasted Paratha is spectacular--the beef is fork-tender and the paratha is buttery and crisp. The Service: The "Ambassador" name is fitting because the staff truly acts as ambassadors for their culture. They are incredibly patient in explaining the menu to newcomers and make excellent recommendations based on your spice tolerance. Atmosphere: The interior is beautifully designed--vibrant, warm, and upscale without being stuffy. It feels like a "mini-vacation" right in the heart of Hillsboro. Pro Tip: This location is incredibly vegan-friendly (about 70% of the menu can be made plant-based!), so it's the perfect spot for a group with diverse dietary needs. Don't leave without trying the Burma Blue cocktail--it's as beautiful as it is delicious!

We ordered the green tea leaf salad, the turmeric fries, the chicken curry with paratha, the all-star okra curry, the coconut noodle soup, and the kheema paratha. I also tried the grass jelly drink. I can't choose my top favorite among everything that we tried. The green tea salad was very unique and I would never have ordered it myself. Now, I'm a fan. The turmeric fries were so delicious too! The chicken curry with the paratha was very Desi and excellent tasting. The okra had a homemade feel to it. I would've liked a side of paratha with it, rather than rice. The kheema paratha was excellent. The coconut noodle soup was like a nice warming/satisfying coconut curry with noodles. The grass jelly was interesting and I know that most of the jelly was left in the can, so while it is nice tasting, I wouldn't recommend drinking it in a can. The Hillsboro location is a little small but this restaurant and the server helping out are both an absolute delight and I highly recommend coming here!!

Shawarma cart? Closed. Boba cart? Closed. My beloved Neshaminy-born Philly cheesesteak cart? Gone entirely. My options were the new Hawaiian and Detroit-style pizza carts, neither of which I've had any experience with at this point, the new Filipino cart that was absolutely slammed, the chicken cart that seemed abandoned by its owner, the sushi cart that seemed thematically inappropriate for the occasion, and KIN Thai Twist. The last cart has been here since the pod's inception and has tempted me on more than one occasion, but I didn't want to steer away from my beloved cheesesteak or seem ungrateful to Khantoke across the street. But I hadn't eaten here since having a dish of pad thai in its earliest days and the clock was ticking: Chicken katsu and crab rangoon it would be. That ended up being absolutely perfect for the occasion. Their katsu is delicately crisp and served with coleslaw on milk bread. Just outstanding. The crab rangoon, meanwhile, are perfect squares made by hand in the cart and wrapped around their own cheese filling. All of it just barely made it to Mexico's first (and only) goal of a 1-0 win, but it made me a KIN Thai Twist fan for the rest of my days. I want to go back and try the pork katsu and takoyaki and just enjoy it in the cozy confines of the pub. There are few certainties at this pod, but I'll take this katsu sandwich and a saison when I can get it.

Kin's owners, were really sweet and friendly. I definitely recommend them for the sandwich, and I would definitely go back to try some of their other menu items. Happy eating!! :)

Over the years, I've brought friends and family here, talking it up enough that they're willing to make the journey with me. I always recommend the tofu vermicelli bowl. The fact that my tofu-skeptical father sang its praises after I made him try it is a testament to its flavor. I still think of it as the gold standard of tofu. I was recently in the area for the first time in 5 or 6 years and decided to go back to Vivi's with my mom. It was the first thing that popped into both of our minds-a real jinks moment. I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to our memory. Vivi's had moved around the corner from their old location-a cute, cozy little cafe-but their new restaurant is more spacious, hopefully to accommodate the flocks of diners that their food merits. I got the tofu vermicelli, which was exactly as I remembered, equally flavorful and generous in portion size for $15. My mom got the papaya salad for $5.50. I previously thought I didn't like papaya-I was mistaken. It was a unique and refreshing dish that I would 100% go back for. Vivi's food tastes fresh and nourishing and at the same time satisfying and rich. We were short on time and were prepared to have to take it to go, but our food was out in 10 minutes. I don't usually write reviews, but after so many great experiences over the years it felt long overdue. A small business that has maintained their quality at reasonable prices over the years deserves to be recognized with a recommendation. Give Vivi's a try!

Bonus points for being in walking distance of Next Level Pinball Museum. Meal came out quick with warning its very spicy (It wasn't that spicy but it had a decent kick compared to the usual dish I've had in the Portland Area!) Staff are friendly, soup was genuinely one of the best I've had in years, the Limade was also a killer and I recommend getting it to pair along with. All-in-all, was a fantastic place to contribute to my late birthday outing.
