So I went to Puerto Rico for the second time during May and there were much less people comparing to Christmas week, and maybe that's why the service was better than the last time. Secondly, I ordered fish tacos and they were pretty good. And last but not least, their lime margarita with crushed ice turned out to be very very good! The appetizer nachos were ok. The tacos themselves are overrated and very small. There were no silverware placed at the tables; it was basically a eat with your own hands sort of place, with waitresses occasionally checking up on you. The seating area is outside, so make sure to bring bug spray since Culebra is known for its many mosquitos. read more

Very deceiving from the outside. Really nice open air patio outback, full bar,, great music. The carne asada tacos were so delicious I ordered three times! This place was awesome. We came here right after getting off the ferry. It opens at noon so we had to wait a little while for it to open but I'm glad we did. The tacos were great. The pork ones were my favorite. The prices were quite fair and the portion size was good. They also had cheap beer. The patio out back was nice and had a nice island vibe. Had drinks at the bar and ordered food to go. The cucumber jalapeños Margarita and Coco Loco were amazing. One of the best drinks I've had on the island. I think they use real coconut meat in the cocktail which is awesome. The Carne asada taco, chicken taco and seared tuna taco were all very good. The chicken was juicy and the tuna was seared well. We went to this place by recommendations from Yelp and our guest house owner... so we give a try and... we ate every single day during our Vacations in the island !!! Incredible great food, excellent friendly and fast service, great ambience... the best you can find in Culebra !!! We loved the Regular Nachos with Carne Asada (WoW) !!! The BIG pork Burritos and the carne asada Quesadillas are awesome !!! But the top of all are the beer battered fish tacos !!! Sooooo delicious !!! Tacos weren't amazing, had a Carne Asada & a battered fish taco, couldn't eat the Carne Asada. Possibly I miss ordered, the dinner special was an aged steak, looked amazing, however, they ran out. They have beer on tap, including an IPA, and many others to choose from. 4 of us sat at the bar for dinner, was an hour wait for a table. Sweet outside spot. Steve was our server/bartender, great fella & was great service I just can't give anymore stars, I wasn't impressed with the tacos & I love tacos! this place is DELICIOUS! being vegan, I am usually stuck with limited choices when visiting PR. believe me, I love my rice beans and mofongo, but a girl needs some variety! when I saw the tofu and spinach tacos and burrito on the menu, I was sold. When ordering, I asked if they could hold the sour cream. to this the server replied, "so no dairy at all?". I was pleasantly surprised. he understands! On the island this is our spot. As far as I know the only spot with Mezcal and local PR craft beer. We had nachos and carnitas and fried fish tacos. All very good. Also if they're making fresh banana daiquiris you should do yourself a favor and get that. Can be very busy at night. Happy hour is chill. Alright... First let's start with location: location- location-location : downtown... Culebra... Puerto Rico... Already winning. 1 star for the location. Next up, ambiance: Of all the restaraunt on the island, this one takes the gold medal. If you want to feel transported (as if you need to go anywhere). This is your spot. Ok, 1 star for the ambiance. Next up, the bar. HANDS DOWN the best liquor selection in Culebra. Never thought I'd see the day I'd be able to get a decent tequila, let alone MEZCAL on this little virgin isle, but that day has come. Ok, 1 star for da booze. What is that, 3 stars so far? Ok good I thought so. (Sorry the mezcal made me loose count.) Ok next up, the food... Wholly crap... I'm outside of the mainland North America and someone actually got Mexican right. You would think that anything with beans, meat, tortillas and cheese would be hard to f**k up but you'd be surprised... This fact alone deserves a Michelin friggin star. But I don't have a Michelin star, I have a yelp star... so that's what I'll give them. 1 star for authentic Mexican on a Caribbean island. Lastly... the service: the place is packed to the gills with hungry gringos and everyone working there looked liked they were having the best time of their life. Friendly, warm, and accommodating... Note: I posted essentially the same review on another site, hope that's ok, I frequent both and really want to share this: The food is awesome, that's been well established so I'll tell a different story, about unbelievable service from an owner: We had a dinner party on Sunday in Culebra and nothing was open so we had nothing to cook/serve. Not knowing him, I went to Zaco's and asked Zac if he had anything I could bring home and cook. He was totally busy but nevertheless went digging through his freezer, pulling stuff out, asking if it would work. Finally sold me 3lbs of shrimp for what must have been cost, all with a smile and sense of trying desperately to help out while juggling many orders, customers, and servers. You don't find that kind of attitude at many places in the states, much less Culebra. Was like he considered us a close friend from the first moment...and Zaco's treats its customers the same way. Please support Zac, he is an exceptional chef and an even more impressive owner and human being! THANK YOU ZAC for saving the day for us :). Being from California, I think I know my Mexican and Margaritas. Having said that Zacos delivered big time. The food was great and the service quick. Decor is fun, the bathrooms very clean and the food was amazing! Try their different hot sauces laid out on the bar. The nachos tray is HUGE. The black bean tacos were tasty and the carnitas burrito packed a punch that lasted all day and night! The best place for good tequila and margaritas on the island. Definitively a winner. Zack's wife manned the bar like a champ and their sweet little daughter came to hang out with us. read more

What a great spot! Had the tamarindo margarita which was delicious. Then a bushwacker.. was more like dessert! This drink is amazing. The tacos were very good. The outside seating is lovely. There are a few levels of decks you can choose from. Also a swing and a set of corn hole boards you can play on. I highly recommend this place. Might even go back! read more

I loved the tacos the the draft beers they had. The beer buttered taco was the best for me. I'm giving 4 stars because of the service. I know this is Culebra but the guy that was serving us had a "don't care" attitude that bother me and my family. He is doing a disservice to that place. I think he is probably one of the few servers in Culebra because I found him on the next day serving at Heather's Pizza (see my review for Heather's). All in all, this is a nice, safe bet. The tacos are good and the prices are reasonable. I'd go back there if I find myself in Culebra. read more
