Great covered outdoor space, fun vibes and friendly service, generous nachos, delicious salsas, fantastic drinks (anything with passionfruit because they put a lot of pure passionfruit in the drinks), and delightful desserts: tres leches was fantastic with a chilled soaked cake, and the orange flan was flavorful, bright, and delicious.

Ambience is this place's strong suit, but the tacos and the pina coladas were good too. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy. The employees there are kind of big on personality, in a good way, and the split-level dining room, fully covered but otherwise outdoors, is a fun environment. Our food was tasty and satisfying, but pricey. It was a bit of a struggle for them to figure out how to split the check, but now I feel like I'm being picky. If I find myself back on this island someday, I will definitely find time to have one of my meals here again.

Ambiance was so cute! Service here is great the waiters were so nice and friendly. Cannot go wrong with the food here. Definitely American style Mexican ish food but delicious.

This was my first time here. I came here because of the many great reviews I've read on Yelp. (Thanks guys/gals) The young man at the door greeted us allowing us to pick our table. A high top is perfect! We started off with drinks. I had the mango margarita. It went down well. I then ordered the local beer called born on the beach. How appropriate since we are on Culebra island which is 20 miles off of Puerto Rico. Zaco Taco is all about worshipping the taco. That being said I actually thought they would have offered a lot more options. As well as being able to mix in order to try the different flavors. But honestly, I'm glad we tried Zaco Taco. They even brought in live music. The only issue was parking. Ugh! That is the only thing holding Zaco from business explosion!

We went here several times during our stay in Culebra and we really enjoyed this place! It was honestly our favorite restaurant on the island. The service was great! No matter what server we had the service was excellent! The food was very good! Out of all the restaurants that we went to in Culebra, this one has the best food! The atmosphere was authentic and warm! We had the bean bowl, asada bowl, bean burrito, tres leches, and other things, all of which were great! Our servers Raquel and Andres were amazing! If you visit the island of Culebra, this restaurant is a must visit!

Great vibe! But I'd say it's the most non-elevated taco experience I had in my life. I totally understand that it's in a small island so we are price takers. But I'd expect something more. We had fajitas, buritos, salsa and chips, old fashioned, margarita, and tres leches all come to over $100. Again, food is decent but nothing special or unique. I've had better Mexican foods even from fast-casual chains. For the price, I feel like I'm eating tacos from a restaurant in NYC! Service was fast and waiter was attentive.

Literally saved us from a very very hungry night. Arrived in Culebra without a car and any food... bad plan. They were the only place to deliver here (I think) and I am so happy we went with them! The tacos were packed with meat and the burrito weighed like 5 lbs, all of it delicious. Extremely nice people that we are very grateful for! Was pricey but worth every penny right now

Came for the margaritas and left happy. They have a pretty lengthy menu and the atmosphere is really really cute. Signage is a little hard to see but the opening is through a door on the Main Street.

We came to this taco place randomly but the food here actually exceeded our expectations. We ordered chicken burrito which was full of flavor and the chicken was very tender. Also tried their tamarind margarita which was refreshing and sour(in a good way). Music was dancy. Only downside was the price was a little steep.

Don't be like me and be fooled by the outside looks. Zaco's Tacos must be one of the best options in Culebra. I'm glad I walked in after so many years just walking by. Beautiful seating area, great food and ambiance. Thanks to Andres for being such a great host.

It's not tasty, and overpriced. Almost all is spicy. It's too noisy. I don't understand why there is such a long line at the restaurant. It's not worth your time or your money.

Wow, to say this place was crap service would be a huge understatement. The staff was completely disengaged and our order came out in one dish at a time and some dishes never came out. After two hours, I asked for the check and they were shocked that the order was still incomplete. The hostess was rude and the fact that there was a wait for at least 30-60 minutes with open tables was a joke. I felt bad for the people who stood in line and were never sat. They were basically told, "if you haven't order by now, you are screwed." Avoid this place after 630 pm because it is a shi* show and the staff is bad at managing the situation.

This place is amazing. If there was a 6th star to give, I would. Great local and super casual place, loved the decorations and ambiance. An awesome patio. We really love this taco place. Was kind of difficult to find at first. Good food, friendly staff, super fast service and cool beers. Trust me order the Beer batter fish tacos 3-4 with a Corona beer, even if you don't like fish, this tacos are amazing. For appetizer the Nachos regulares with carne asada. The Burritos are huge and very good, I'm not a fan of rice inside my burrito but I like this one. The only two items to improve: margaritas are water down (the only water in a margarita is the ice) I use to be a bartender and I know how expensive is to make a good one (use smaller glasses or charge more), the fans you can control the speed or turn off them making the food cool very fast. read more

Its fun to eat on patio or near the bar with the baby chickens walking around. If you are just coming for a drink this spot is ideal. Be warned the 'mexican food' is terrible.....flour tortilla and kraft cheese, also the tip is automatically included. read more

Loved this place! Charming Caribbean character. Food was excellent. Tried several different tacos from the menu. The fish tacos were the best! Planned to go back the next day just to get more of the fish tacos, but vacation timing got in the way. Highly recommended if you're lucky enough to go to Culebra island. read more

As someone previously stated, these aren't just the best tacos in Culebra but some of the best I've ever tasted !! And I like to believe I'm something like a taco connoisseur given the amount of tacos I've eaten in my life. Lol. Do yourself the favor and eat as many fish tacos as you possibly can! And try all hot sauces, especially the orange one which is the spiciest ! Zacos Tacos...until we meet again! read more

I would have given this place a 5 stars since i ate there for 4 times in a row. Food is great and staff friendly BUT there seems to be a management issue where the staff are not trained to handle a busy hit and they lose it! Last time I was there I had nothing to eat all day (my fault) waiting for a last meal at Zaco's before going back to US. We order at 715 and they close at 8. food came at 745 (and they forgot to make half of the order so it came out at 815) and that's fine but I was still hungry and I ordered again at 8 and they said THE OWNER does not take any orders after 8 BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO GET HOME!! Wow! However THE OWNER allowed one order from a table that came right after I ordered at 8 because it was "last table". If you are going to take orders take them if not, don't! Especially if we WERE becoming regulars and spend a lot of money in your restaurant! Staff was apologetic but we went home hungry. read more

This is a really fun, inexpensive place to go for good food. The only thing that did disappoint me a little was the sangria that was touted as being great but I had better at other restaurants . The casual outdoor atmosphere really makes the place special. read more

Decent quality tacos. Good salsa and guacamole. Nice outdoor seating in the rear though the inside can get a bit stuffy. Zaco's is one of the better dining options on Culebra. If you are a Steelers fan, don't miss the luchador mask hanging behind the bar. read more

Amazing! We were on Flamenco and debated eating at one of the shacks there or heading back in to Zaco's Tacos and I am so happy we did. We split shrimp and crab nachos and both had a blackened Dorado taco, both were amazing! Margarita was delicious too! For sure recommend to anyone on the island! read more

55 minute wait for a table. 30 minute wait to have order taken. Another 30 minutes for a couple of very pedestrian tacos to arrive. If you're in Culebra, follow the golden rule: cook for yourself. read more

Zaco's Tacos is amazing!! My wife and I went there for lunch last week. We are vegetarians and they had a number of veggie options. We tried the veggie burrito. It was so yummy. Definitely one of the best burritos I have had!! For dessert, we tried the pumpkin caramel crunch.. That was absolutely delicious. We only made a day trip to culebra.. If we had stayed there longer, we would 've probably gone to zacos for every meal :) read more

I am a sucker for tacos and I had my hopes up when I went to this place. I was left unimpressed. I and my husband got there very hungry for a Tuesday afternoon lunch and we ordered chicken, pork belly, pork, beef and fish tacos. Out of the 5 we liked only the beer battered fish and pork tacos. Their sauces are good and spicy. Then, we ordered the coconut pudding and that was not disappointing at all. I stay near this place but I don't think I will waste my money on this food again. read more

A must go on Culebra. Everything was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Will be going back today for lunch. Fish tacos, tuna tacos, pulled pork tacos and marinated beef tacos were very good. Salads were fresh and tasty. I am giving it 4 stars because everything could benefit from some fine-tuning, but overall we were very impressed. read more

Chill atmosphere. Open when others are not. The service is relaxed yet on point and the food is fantastic. A great place to chill with a cold one and some good fusion food when you arrive on this sleepy beautiful island. Always love coming here. read more

Great place! Street style tacos.if you order 2 tacos and appetizer you will be good to go, but you will be great if you order the coconut cream pie that is more like coconut cheesecake. I wish could have tried the sangria but they said that the PR liquor folks would not let them serve it any more. Will be back before we leave for sure. read more

The tacos here are cheap and delicious. DO NOT pass on the pork belly taco - its divine! After having eaten here several times during our stay, we grabbed six tacos and four medallas for the ferry ride back to mainland PR. It was the perfect way to say good bye to lovely Culebra. read more

The answer is last year the service was bad and what's more it was becoming more and more difficult to get a table. Less employees and they were either not capable or not interested enough to help the customers properly. Although they never allowed reservations, when you went there, they would tell you that they would call you or text you when it's available. Last year they didn't allow that. It just was a pain in the neck. It gets to be a point when the restaurant, although they need to make money, they could also lose loyalty. On the upside, I started going to Sun Dog instead, which I now LOVE. What's more? I'm also now going to THE LIME IN for what I consider great unusual tacos. When you're ready to allow reservations, I would strongly consider coming again, but the fact the matter is what I loved is no longer what I used to love You possibly could bring me back because I'm here for six weeks every year, but as of now, until you change, all I can say is Adios amigo

Food: We had the street corn dip (4/10), dip trio (4/10, the queso was good), chicken enchiladas (3/10, they came with flour tortillas which got soft and mushy), and the loaded burritos with barbacoa (5//10, it was loaded, it was also cold throughout) sent it back and the platter was hot but it was still barely lukewarm. Didn't eat the burrito at all and was still charged. Requested the manager and he took $20 off, though the burrito was $28. Again, I'd go for a drink or to snap a few pics but not for the food.

If you'd like to support a business that does not care for the safety of their employees go to Zaco's Tacos Restaurant. I was fired without reason because I politely asked them to prohibit my attacker. A 40 year old married man who beat the shit out of me. I'm 23 and alone living. He told me he would NOT prohibit this man and that instead he'll take me off the schedule and a "good luck in life". This was also after my attacker(who never eats out, especially at Zacos...) decided to show up to my place of work and create a video harassing me and lying to his entire social platform that he's not once in his life touched a woman... etc etc, literally lying and harassing me and messing with me in my place of work FYI... After countless hours and days I've not only sprinted to each and every customer working my bones to shreds and getting the highest tips because I treat his clients as if I owned the place, but also building his entire gorgeous garden downstairs. We "act like family" but it's obvious what's happening, now his mother, sister, her husband, and the children are all working there and the "family treatment" I was given was absolutely fake the entire time. He cares more about his business and money than he does his employees wellbeing and safety and completely fired me without reason. I've lost over $7000+ in the last 3.5 weeks and my money is gone. Today I had $14 to my name and I had to decide whether gas to work or eating was a better choice. Of course I chose the gas and hadn't had a bite to eat until 7pm. Maybe if I wasn't wrongfully fired, I'd still be in Culebra working, living in my brand new apartment(with the $1200 I just dropped two months ago on brand new furniture and $800 to get it all shipped to Culebra)and my new healthy car and making $300-600/day. But instead I'm homeless coachsurfing again like I've been my whole life, lost all my stability and I'm making $146/week in unemployment.... Honestly, I don't like to be this type of person but screw Hector Bilbao and his restaurant. Unfortunately it's a great place to eat but like I said, he's more greedy than human and has not morals; he would rather protect his business than a loyal employee that's worked endlessly for him. that's okay I can try to understand it but it's a sick joke. I recently visited Zacos Tacos, and my experience was horrible, particularly due to the service we received upon entry. Walking into the restaurant felt normal at first; we followed the example of the party ahead of us by walking directly to a table. This action, however, was met with an unexpected reaction from a server named Chris. Rather than politely informing us of the seating protocol, Chris approached us in a manner that felt unnecessarily rude, instructing us to return to the front entrance. While we would have happily complied with a courteous request to wait to be seated, the tone and manner in which the instruction was delivered left us feeling unwelcome. More disheartening was the realization that our treatment seemed to differ from that of white customers, suggesting a disparity in hospitality that should never find a place in any establishment. My recent visit to Zacos Tacos was unfortunately tarnished by an encounter with an employee named Chris, leaving me compelled to share my disappointing experience. Upon arrival, there was a lack of a host or clear seating arrangement, so we followed the party ahead of us, hoping to find a suitable spot. To our dismay, Chris abruptly approached us, welcomed the other group, and rudely instructed us to leave without any explanation or attempt to assist. Having chosen Zacos Tacos based on positive Yelp reviews, our expectations were high. However, our experience was abruptly cut short by Chris's discourteous behavior. This incident greatly impacted our perception of the restaurant and left us questioning the validity of the positive reviews we had read. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any dining experience, and unfortunately, Zacos Tacos fell short on this occasion. My experience at this restaurant was tainted by the rude behavior of the server, Chris. Upon entering with another party, we were abruptly instructed to return to the front, while the other group was allowed to proceed without similar instructions. This inconsistency in treatment, seemingly based on race, was deeply disappointing. Despite the apparent friendliness of the cook, Chris's behavior led me to decide against dining here. I had an amazing experience at Zacos Tacos. The ambiance was fantastic, complemented by great live music. The interior and decor were beautiful and well-designed. As for the food, it was quite delicious. The chicken tacos were absolutely amazing, while the fish tacos were decent but not exceptional. The nachos were enjoyable as well, although they were a bit heavy on the cheese. The quesadillas were also quite tasty. Shhhhhh!!! Culebra is becoming less of a secret, but is still a pretty laid back and rustic place. Tacos get 4 Stars in a normal rating scale (Better than Chipotle, carnitas and fish were favorites) ) Guacamole is pretty awesome, i would call it "Best of West Virgins if not Caribbean" Drinks are great and cool good-vibe service. A must-try is the Tamarindo Margarita...( glup glup...glup)! If not stick with the Don Q Coke or very cold beer. Enjoy before it gets too crowded read more

Terrific tacos and chill atmosphere. The waiter, Kevin, was attentive and helpful but not overbearing at all. Carnita tacos are the best on the menu. Don't expect "salsa" though. You have to ask for it, and there is barely enough for one taco. read more
