Stay away from this place. They talk like they want you as a repeat customer but it's just words. Bought a vehicle they were listing at $23,500 and change (about $1500 over average according to Car Gurus), which they took $500 off and would not go further. Came already preapproved for $25,000, but when the paperwork was submitted credit union only approved up to value of vehicle, leaving me with a $2,000 balance to make up. Tried to get more than $500 off and the sales manager I was talking to said that was their best price. Did a stupid routine of writing down numbers and going to "talk to the boss" but it was an obvious play act. Kept trying to say that they were trying to help and that if the bank would make adjustments they wanted me happy, a repeat customer, blah, blah, blah, and even had the nerve to pitch their referral program at me. Ultimately the fake trips to talk to the boss yielded no results (obviously). He tried to get me to let them try to finance it through their lenders but I refused to do that. And then it was, "Well, this is our best price." And that was that. Since I was looking for a specific vehicle with specific features and this was one of the few I could find within 200 miles, I paid their $2,000. This was all quite frustrating but this wasn't even the worst of it. What REALLY prompted me to write this review is what happened after this. Even though I was already pre-approved, and even after I paid them their $2,000 balance, they continued to ask for the same documentation I had already presented to my credit union (pay stub, in particular), and even when I complied that was still not enough. They didn't like the fact that my year-to-date income wasn't on my pay stub. By this point, I was beyond trying to be polite. I basically said this is what I have, take it or leave it. It was good enough for the credit union, you have the money, you have my $2,000, what is the problem? He had the nerve to say they didn't have the credit union's money yet and suggested they were taking a risk by accepting the credit union's promise to pay. On top of THAT, they also wanted 2 references. I complained again, stating they already had all the information they needed but they pushed back saying it was their policy and his hands were tied. So I put some fake information down just to get it over with. This was 2 hours into the deal, after I had driven up to Everett from Bremerton for the second day in a row to close this deal, tired, hungry, and by now in a quite foul mood. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. And THEN it was the insurance. I was happy to show proof of insurance, but they wanted to call my insurance company and add the vehicle right then and there. I refused but said I would do it. I tried to reach the insurance office, but as it was evening by now, they were closed. I informed them of this and said that if my showing you proof of insurance isn't good enough, I am walking. The salesman made the comment that it would be a shame to let such a simple thing spoil the deal, and I said yes, that's my point. He went back to the office again and somehow it was fine that I didn't add the vehicle on the spot. Ultimately, I drove away from there in the vehicle I overpaid for, but I will never go back and I advise you to stay away. It's not worth it. Spare yourself the sour feelings I have now. read more

I went to pick them up and they made me pay extra money because they said my truck was more. They wouldn't give me my plates until I paid it and my temp plates expired the next day. I wouldn't recommend buying a vehicle from these people. I was working with the salesman Jason. He seemed ok at first (they all did) and then he started asking me questions. Like, how much does your mom make, how much was your horse, how many tips do you make each day etc. None of those questions were relevant to buying a car, they had nothing to do with the application. He was being straight up nosy. I was on a time restraint, and time was running out. I asked if I could come back the following day and they kept pushing me to just buy the car. I honestly needed to think about the pitcher before making a rational decision. Needed to talk to a few people first and that's why I wanted to come back the following day. (As I was running low on time that day). They had my car keys (they looked at my car for trade in) and I really needed to go, but I couldn't just leave because they had my keys. Jason went to talk to his manager and the manager was literally trying to push the sale on me right away. And I noted I had somewhere to be and that I had to leave and he kept pushing me to buy the car. Also, I had asked when I test drove the car if there was any mechanical issues and Jason had said they check all of their cars before selling and so I asked for a copy saying everything was fine with the car and he couldn't give me anything. They couldn't prove to me the car was in good condition. That's another reason I didn't buy the car, because I wanted proof that it had been inspected. The car is still on the lot. (Toyota corolla). They told me corollas go fast and when I asked how long the car had been on the lot, they said 3 weeks. And I was there 2 weeks ago looking at it. If it were possible to mark 0 stars I would. I have had a history the last few years with zag and have received help in the past after a lot of pushing. Now with my most recent purchase there is a history of a bad hybrid battery , starting the day after we left and also didn't disclose it was a FLEET vehicle. There are lots of boring details but moral of the story is now I will suffer for a few years with a voluntary repossession - because I, like most, don't have $4k for a hybrid battery replacement. Just know that if you go here you will be dealing with the epitome of slimey used car salesman tactics and you are crap on their shoe once they see you drive away. If zero stars was an option I would have used that rating. I purchased a 2011 Ford F-250 from them. Since the purchase I have had to replace multiple items. Including power steering pump (which under the purchased extended warranty was called an accessory) rear brake caliper was seized and smoking, the truck didn't start multiple times after weeks of purchase. The emissions system was completely clogged and needed replacement. Multiple sensors on the intake manifold needed replaced. I am certain they didn't do a safety inspection required by law!!!!!!!! Replaced Rear calipers from dealer and now the truck has a massive oil leak. Just over five thousand miles driven from purchase and will be going in for another warranty issue. Stay far far far away. Carfax came through clean with no damage. Going ahead and calling bull shit. The Bumper is brand new and has fog lamps that aren't a equipped. The wiring harness itself was tied in a Knot. Now with the sway bar with the pitman arm and control Rods need replacing. Another 1200 out of pocket. The sales guys might be alright but ownership is scum!!!!! Will never buy another vehicle from them! When confronted with problems the sales staff tried to Push me into a vehicle I could not afford (and they knew it) anyone wishing to purchase a vehicle From These thieves have an independent inspection done. read more

My wife and I needed a second car. We did the whole on-line thing and found a fair few in our price range/geographic radius. One listed at this particular location was particularly appealing, so I called ahead and asked if it was still on the lot. The sales rep told me it was and that he would do his best to keep it there until I arrived. Sounds great, right? We hopped in our existing car and drove the 50-some miles to the lot where the sales rep I had spoken to was nowhere to be found. Another representative came out quickly and offered to help us, but sadly, they had sold the car I was looking for "mere moments" before I arrived...... I was (understandably) frustrated, but she said she could work with me on finding something else in my price range. She promptly led me to two other cars on the lot; boasting that they were "only $6000 over the price of the one I had come to look at!" Frankly, I would have been far more impressed with her boast had not the original vehicle I came to see been $6000 to begin with. Call me crazy, but I don't think you get to call it a "comparably priced vehicle" when it's literally twice the price, but I digress....... The rep was very pushy, insisting that I should use their in-house financing to cover the difference even after I informed her that I had no intention of financing anything. Anyways..... here I sit three days later, and the car I originally came down to see is STILL listed as "on the lot." Thinking this may just be the result of technological shortcomings, I called them from a different number and asked again if the car was there. They said it was.............dirty fracking pool. This is an updated review on ZAG Motors. They actually did what they said they would do and got my son out of his damaged car. The car lot got him into something way better something that he has full disclosure on of this time. The salesmen Rick Stinardo was very patient with us not really pushy worked really hard for our son. I was told this was going to be the fastest and easiest process ever and it's taken over a week to finalize everything because they can't figure out where to have you sign a simple piece of paper (just to make you do it alllll over again) they don't help you fill out the correct paperwork and they're just plain slow and for them to try and make small talk while they can obviously tell that you're pissed off is just plain annoying. The back driver side shock was completely disconnected and there is body damage all the way around the vehicle... It has rust everywhere underneath due to going to the dunes.. hence the shock and extensive body damage.... They were asking $22,900 and had also offered a test drive... upon looking on Kelly blue book in good condition because in no way is it great or excellent condition it was priced at the most $10,300..... What is the meaning of trying to double your money with a vehicle that is a potentially hazardous form of transportation.... You have to expect that the cars are not going to be perfect right? That's why you are coming here from the beginning. If you need a brand new car then go to the actual car dealership of the desired car brand that you are after. Otherwise, shut up and accept what you are getting. For the price that they are offering and for the promotions that they do; i couldn't really find any other dealership that matches their discounts. For me, I think i got lucky and i was able to find a good running car after i asked them to help me find a used Range Rover HSE. Hass was helpful and he was patient with me because i told him that i need to take my time to find a good used car from the Auction and he did. This place was horrible. I went there and got a car. I was there for 7 hours waiting for them to do nothing. Anyways As I was driving it home a couple diffrent issues started happening. The tire light went on, the keyless entry no longer worked and the bluetooth no longer worked as well. I went back to the dealership and they told me I had to come back to speak with their mechanic. So I did. Then I was told I had to make am appointment to be seen. So I made an appointment and then went home. The next day I went there and was the first one there. They took 2 hours before telling me that I can no longer could have the car and they would give me my money back that I deposited. O was pissed. I told them that they needed to give it back right then as I needed it to rent a car put find another car elsewhere. They refused to give me the money and told me I had to come back at 5 that evening or wait three days. I am so beyond annoyed with these people. Oh they lied also when I was waiting and pretended to want to get back into an original car that I wanted there. They had me talk to someone on the phone about my current position. I explained everything to them and then ended the call. No more then 5 minutes later they told me they will no longer let me have the car.... that I would be paying for. These people are horrible. Dont go here unless you want to waste your time and get shitty cars. read more

Update: When we purchased here, we were told customers could bring their car back for maintenance, repairs, inspections... Anything, at a discounted price just for being a customer... Sounds good right? Well we bought a car, 3000 miles later it's time for an oil change. I call them up, ask about it, the lady says she doesn't think they offer that service... I explain to her what we were told when buying, to which she replies " I'm new", and that she "made an appointment" for the following day for us to have the service done. Next day: I bring the car by, a salesman comes out, I explain I have an appointment, he leaves, comes back, asks why we are there.... I explain we have a service appointment.... He says he wasn't aware they offered that service. He then says he will get someone from the shop to help us.... 10 minutes later he comes out and says "someone will come help you". 15 minutes later I'm still waiting and I leave. I take the car 5 minutes down the road to Firestone and they get my money. Fuck this place for their shotty promises, feel free to buy from them, but don't expect any sort of customer service. Everyone beware of INDEPENDANCE AUTO. They are dishonest. I recently bought a car here and was told they had a certified Mechanic that thoroughly goes through every vehicle on the lot. Upon buying my vehicle on the way home I broke down on hwy2, in which time I immediately called them. The told me to call back the next day. So I say on hwy2 for 2 hours with a car I just paid 7k for. I called them the day, and Evelyn told me to bring in my receipt and they would reimburse me for the parts. Here it has been over a month and still no payment, and the problems are coming out with the car. I need to dump a lot of money into the car now. I have never had a bad experience with any company as I have with this company today, Sam, the "service" lady was absolutely down right rude to me yelling at me on the phone because they were supposed to fix our truck that they have held for 7 weeks and have not touched, and then decided to hand it off to another company (Bucky's, they are amazing!) Who had it fixed in 3 days but we have been making payments on this truck the whole time and it has broken down 3 times now in less than a year for safety issues, which legally the lemon law says they have to take care of no charge to us, but Sam and the mechanic she handed me off to both refused to help us out what so ever, and yelled at me for absolutely no reason it was like talking to children.
