I prefer more robust flavors from Indian and specifically Pakistani food over the "salt & pepper" style seasoning (with turmeric for color) of Afghan food. I tried what they call their Shami kabob, which is actually a seekh kabob. I got a side of chick peas with it. The flavor of the kabob was actually quite nice (for Afghan food). The chick peas were as basic as I would expect from this style of food. Their potatoes looked great, but unfortunately were extremely bland and unflavored. Their naan was pretty good and perfectly baked, so it was slightly crusty while flexible enough to eat with and still flavorful. My preference if for spicier food, so I asked for an extra spicy green sauce. Fortunately, my dish came with their white sauce too. The white sauce had an incredible flavor! So much more flavor than the green sauce, even though the green sauce had slight spice, mostly from the vinegar in it. Their rice looked great and had the appropriate amount of seasoning and flavor you'd expect, regardless of style of Middle Eastern food you're enjoying. Service was excellent! They were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and even checked on us. The place was pretty clean for a kabob joint as well. Overall, it was a decent visit, but unfortunately for me, it left me wanting more... more spice and depth of flavor. But for the average American, you'd probably really enjoy this place.

We arrived early evening and they had a candle and tablecloth on each table. I ordered Baadenjaan Bouranee, luscious eggplant dish; Frenched Rack Of Lamb, perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful; and Pumpkin Dumpling Entree, perfectly sweet, smooth interior and perfectly steamed dumpling wrapper. I will continue to support this establishment.

When we walked in, we were greeted very nicely and sat quickly. Our server was new and it was her first day so she couldn't really give any recommendations which wasn't the best, but the manager came out and was able to help with describing some of the dishes and giving great recommendations. Most of the people that we ate with ended up with some type of lamb dish and the lamb was phenomenal. The rice was delicious. The eggplant was delicious. We got a bunch of appetizers. Everything was on point. Everything tasted super fresh and overall we had a very nice experience. The food also came out very quickly. The overall ambience was very nice very home type vibe and it is a smaller restaurant for limited tables One of our friends that we went with since we haven't seen each other for a long time was really craving a beer and kebabs which sometimes a little bit harder than one would anticipate but they served alcohol as well as delicious food so win-win here. So overall, I would highly recommend this place if you want delicious Afghan food, but of course remember to book in advance .

They don't have falafel, but I highly recommend any of their vegetable sides. I got the 4 veggie plate and loved everything. They make amazing flatbread that is worth the trip alone. After lent, I still go back and like everything I've tried. They are extremely friendly. And whoever is at the counter will warmly welcome you. They have a pretty simple menu and tap to pay conveniently located on the counter. There is nothing in particular I would recommend as everything I've tried I'd order again. I'm catholic and would recommend the veggie plate during lent. I will say that the drink options are common and basic bottles in a refrigerator. Don't let the plain name in front fool you. This place is worth a try. I don't preorder and have never had a long wait. If you eat in, they offer you warm tea that is really appreciated during winter.

The second sign - it smelled nothing at all like a place that makes anything with curry, it smelled like cleaner. The fixtures, décor, and leftover (from the gas station that it used to be) slurpee and other machines all tell me the folks who own this place put nothing at all into it... So, one would hope they put their love into the food.... I tried their beef seekh kabob with a side of chick peas... The flavors and style is more Persian, maybe Afghan, but definitely NOT anything with flavor! Those are bland and basic in preparation, style, and flavor... Indian and Pakistani foods have sooo much more depth of flavor which comes from better preparation and use of spices. The kabob was as flavorful as regular 80/20 ground beef wrapped around a spit... I hardly tasted any spice to it. The chickpeas weren't flavorful at all. The rice (even though it looked like it might be good) was the blandest thing I had, so I hardly ate any. Overall, I tried this place a few years apart and nothing has changed... I have no idea how they stay in business, but I do hope they are successful... They just don't serve the flavors I seek.

I'm utterly disappointed to taste lassi and it was sour and foamy means it was old and stale, it went down to drain. I then tasted Nihari Haleem, there wasn't any nihari or haleem flavor in it but a mixture of broken chicken pieces with naked bones and taste more like daal gosht, absolutely no flavor in it. Biryani also was stale and chicken pieces look old and dark on the outside. Side raita (yogurt) was also foamy and stale. I'm very disappointed because I was very excited to learned we have Pakistani restaurant in Stafford but I guess I'll have to travel up north to satisfy my cravings for desi food. I'm sorry but I don't recommend this restaurant because of this experience of my mine.
