I feel very guilty writing this review. I was STOKED to see a cute cafe within walking distance from me. Was a little hesitant for being "healthy" (read: lacking flavor), and my gut feelings were right. It's a little hard to get to, as it's on the corner of a busy Abernathy intersection. There's a parking lot shared with the apartment complex adjacent to the restaurant. Inside was clean, bright. The employees there were very friendly (which is why I feel bad about my review). I ordered an iced latte, which was pretty good! Always a plus they have multiple milk and milk substitute options. Where it falls apart is the food. You ever see the girls in Instagram who post pictures of a salad or rice cake and hashtag it with YUM to lie to themselves? This is how I would describe the pastries here. I had a scone (one of my favorite desserts in general), brownie, and cookie. They all tasted like cardboard which was baked with sand. There was no essence of any real flavor, as these things have strayed so far away from the real thing in hopes of being "healthy." As I write this review I'm seriously craving some of their amazing desserts! My first visit I tried a variety of treats which included raspberry cheesecake, chocolate brownie cheesecake, peanut butter chocolate layer cake, carrot cake and a coffee cake square. I wasn't disappointed with anything. The texture of the coffee cake wasn't my favorite but it was still tasty. TL:DR: This place is amazing, especially if you're keto. Get the bagel. The staff is nice. These people obviously take pride in their work. Wow this place is amazing! It's one of the the only low carb/keto-friendly places in Atlanta and an objectively good bakery. Baking in keto is one of the hardest things because of all the substitutions you need. For most of these items you really can't even tell that they were made to be keto and they are just delicious. I would say everybody has different tastes so you might not love everything there but there will definitely be items that blow your mind. Came here during lunchtime on a weekday, the place was empty and there was plenty of seating. Parking was a little hard to figure out but there are signs in the deck. We ended up parking streetside because the deck spots were full. The bakery is very nice and open, modern yet inviting feel. The cashier was extremely nice and offered recommendations when we asked but otherwise let us take our time deciding what we wanted. I was very skeptical at first so we just got $20 worth of stuff. This place is not cheap, everything is about $2-$5 but that is because the ingredients they use are expensive. They use a lot of butter and cream cheese, almond flour is expensive, erythritol and sugar substitutes and syrups are expensive, coconut flour is even more expensive, they use a lot of spices and those are expensive. You can tell they don't skimp on ingredients. First round we got a snickerdoodle, a gingerbread cheesecake slice, a carrot cake slice, and peppermint mocha coffee. Second round we got a tiramisu, coconut macaroon, brownie, peppermint chocolate cheesecake, berry tart square/cheesecake thing, an everything bagel, and a walnut coffee square. Yeah we basically got one of everything.... came out to be $50. Your receipt also comes printed out with the carbs for everything for easy counting. Total net carbs was 20. Amazing! The snickerdoodle was ok, pretty good, fluffy, you could taste the cinnamon and sugar. This was actually the only thing you could taste the erythritol in. But still yummy. The gingerbread cheesecake was ok, the ginger flavor was veryyy strong but my bf really liked it. This was a seasonal cake so they won't have anymore after this week probably. The carrot cake was pretty good, definitely tasted like a real carrot cake, and it was THICK. Like super dense. The peppermint mocha coffee was not very sweet and the peppermint flavor wasn't very strong. I'm not a big coffee drinker so it was a little too bitter for me, even though heavy cream got added. My bf reallyy liked it though, he said it was a really good coffee and that he'd love to drink it black. The tiramisu was pretty good, a solid tiramisu, light and fluffy cake at the base. I really liked the coconut macaroon, there is a lot of coconut in it and it's just the right sweetness for me. The brownie is ok. Regular brownie haha. The peppermint chocolate cheesecake is amazing!!! Tastes like a firm mousse and the peppermint really accentuates it. It is a little higher in carbs I think, 5 carbs, because of the chocolate but so good! This is also a seasonal cake so sadly I think it will be going away. The berry square thing was basically a thick crust, thin cheesecake layer square with craisins on top. This is REALLY sweet. Like most of their other desserts are not that sweet but this one is incredibly sweet, they must have soaked the craisins in syrup or something. I really enjoyed it but my bf thought it was too sweet. The everything bagel...omg it was so good. It was actually one of the best bagels I've ever had, even compared to real dough bagels, and the texture was amazing, very close to real bread. You could tell it had a very high butter content but it didn't taste or feel greasy at all. There was a very strong onion taste so don't get the everything bagel if you don't like onions. But either way I would HIGHLY recommend trying a bagel, any flavor. The cashier offered to toast it for us in their oven and gave us some cream cheese to go with it too! The coffee cake was ok, very similar to the carrot cake but a little looser and no cream cheese. A few things to note, do be careful if you have a nut allergy because some of these things contain nuts. Also everyone, especially on keto, has different tastes. Everything we tried we liked but my bf and I definitely reacted very differently to them. Usually I would really like something and he would think it was meh and vice versa. The only thing we agreed on was the bagel. My only gripe is that they should change their name to include "Keto Cafe" or something. To make it really obvious they cater to the keto crowd. I only heard about them through a Youtube video I watched otherwise I don't think I could have found them through a Yelp search. read more

Everyone on a low-carb or gluten-free diet needs this cute, clean bakery in his life! They have superb coffee with heavy cream. I want to try everything but absolutely loved the Swiss roll (!!!!!), the creme brûlée, and the snickerdoodle cookie! The midnight cheesecake and chocolate-peanut butter cake were rich and yummy but were both very grainy to me. I prefer to bake using powdered Swerve than granular in the sweets I make at home. It's a drive for me, but it feels worth it to bring home a week of goodies. Even people without special dietary needs will find plenty to enjoy! Go check it out! read more

The coffee is so good too and you can add sugar free flavor that are homemade. You can select any type of milk. All the dessert are so good they taste so close to the regular version. Went here after seeing it on KetoConnect. This place is phenomenal!!! First let me say, I live 24 miles away from Zambawango. I had an appointment and since it was few minutes away I went. Customer service was A+! I ordered a pumpkin coffee cake bar, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and Tiramisu. The cookies were delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. I've had low carb cookies before and really didn't like the. The cooling effect from the erythritol usually turns me off but not with these cookies. I didn't want to put it down. The cookies are enough for 2 servings in my opinion. Now, I've made low carb cinnamon rolls before using fathead dough. I thought I'd made some pretty good rolls until I tried Zambawango cinnamon rolls. I can't get enough of these rolls. Perfection!! I could eat these all day. The cream cheese icing pairs perfectly with rolls but isn't necessary. The cinnamon were one of the reasons I went back the next day. My visit the next day was to pick up some low carb goods for my friend and me. I'd raved the previous night about my goodies she asked me to get her some treats to try. Of course I got more cinnamon rolls and cookies. On this day they had cheesecake, carrot cake, and muffins. I'd wanted to try the scones and bagels but the lady ahead of me purchased them all. My friend loved the cookies and cinnamon rolls. She didn't really like the muffin (I have yet to try it). We both liked the cheesecake minus the crust. Which isn't a big problem for me because I never liked the crust on regular cheesecake. I'm really impressed with Zambawango. I feel lucky to be able to try their delicious desserts. I have recommended it several people. Wish they were closer but will make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area. I almost forget 2 other items I purchased. I got my son a piece of regular Red Velvet Cake that he devoured. So it's not just the low carb desserts that are available and good. My damily and I REALY enjoyed the pastries here. We tried the carrot cake (favorite), Bagels (To die for), tiramisu (not my favorite, but my husband enjoyed it), and a iced latte. The gentleman at the counter was very nice but when we asked questions about some of the products he would go to the back to ask the girls regularly. We felt things were a little slow paced. So make sure you have your credit cards at hand. I discovered this Sandy Springs bakery & café thanks to a video Keto Connect couple Matt and Megha posted on YT. Soon as I found out Atlanta had its very own low carb Keto-friendly business I had to drive over. The bakery is in a small row of businesses behind the new Mercedes Benz office complex - it would have been hard to find except for well placed signs nearby. I met co-owner George and his pastry chef business partner and found out this business opened less than a month ago. They offer a wonderful selection of low carb desserts with no sugar or suspect ingredients. Plus some traditional pastries too. Not that I'm looking for dessert choices now; don't need or crave them. But once a week or so I think it would be nice to have a small, high quality treat. So I recommend the carrot cake (taste is amazing with all the right spices) - a generous slice prompted me to take it home and divide into 3 pieces. I just don't do dessert now - I've been on the Keto diet 6 months, lost 54 pounds; still have ~20 more to go. The tiramisu is light with layers of subtle cocoa flavor. I got one cupcake, it looks delicious - in my freezer now; will try it next week (lol). I also got a medium mocha latte hot coffee (Keto). Really delicious. I don't even have words for how happy I was when I found out about this bakery. I had low expectations because although I am a decent baker, my attempts at keto baking have not exactly been great. I ordered 2 carrot cakes, 2 brownies, 2 chocolate chip cookies, 2 cinnamon rolls, 2 pumpkin coffee cakes, 2 cupcakes and 2 pumpkin spice lattes. The consistency of everything was spot on. The level of sweetness was just enough, so as not give them that cloying taste or cooling effect that some keto-friendly sweeteners have. Yes. Absolutely. For those on Keto THIS is your place to stock up on sweet cravings. Not only does the bakery receipt show you the carb count in their items but basically ALL of their items (3 exceptions) are Keto. I called and spoke with Ashley who was super helpful, to ask if I should drive 30 minutes or if they were out of items already. It was a Friday around noon so I figured they would be swamped, but surprisingly she had some items still stocked. I did find out weekends were probably the unsafe bet, so earlier in the week would be my option. Her service was stellar and she answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed. I ordered 1 slice of PB cake, 1 slice Carrot, 1 sesame bagel, 2 cinnamon rolls, 1 cupcake, and 1 Snickerdoodle. I had asked if they freeze well and they do (up to 2 weeks) and can be refrigerated for several days.....I need items on hand to grab so I don't cheat lol. The carrot cake was EPIC (even though I ate it days later)! Get it. So similar to traditional flavors. I had one of the cinnamon rolls the next morning and it was delicious. They do put the cream cheese on the side. I generally make my own Keto rolls, but now...I don't have to! And the snickerdoodle was sooooo good. All items including tax were under $25. Which is such an affordable price when you are simply stocking up on snacks to have on hand. Absolutely delightful low carb haven. I suck at baking even normal cakes much less low carb/Keto friendly, so it's so nice to have an option nearby with such top notch sweets. Not many can say that they have a low carb bakery near them! I tried the carrot cake (it was moist and the cream cheese frosting was killer), the brownie (not as sweet as a typical brownie, so you taste more of the cocoa which I prefer), and the red velvet cupcake. The red velvet cake definitely tasted more like chocolate to me than any red velvet I've had before (which I guess it should since thats what red velvet is lol). The amazing gluten free/sugar free products from Zambawango have been my only source for bagels, biscuits, and an occasional cookie or pie treat during my eleven months of living an extremely low carb life. Tasty and filling, their freshly baked products offer me gf/sf foods with carefully listed ingredients. When ordering the items online from their baking facility in Alpharetta, all items are frozen and ready to be picked up there or shipped directly to your home. I have done an order pickup in Alpharetta and enjoyed talking with the baker, who happily explained details of every single ingredient. I have done home "shipping" orders, too, with products arriving from Alpharetta still frozen in a completely sealed package with "ice" packs. I've enjoyed going to the Sandy Springs Zambawango Coffee Shop and Bakery several times, where they have most of the same bakery items plus sf drinks. I loved that they use Swerve Erythritol to sweeten their treats - a lot of other sweeteners are a little too harsh for my palette. I had the creme brûlée and got a sesame bagel to go. Both were outstanding and I am craving more of their desserts. The creme brûlée was luscious with a nice, crunchy topping. The bagel was very good toasted, and they had a good whipped cream cheese spread. Next time I will try some of their coffees. I tried Zambawango in April of this year. I am currently on the keto diet and wanted to sample the low-carb dessert section for my birthday. The location is far from where I live, so I ordered a few items to eat over the course of a day or two. In all, I tried the carrot cake, birthday cake roll, vanilla cupcake, and red velvet cupcake. (All of which were the low carb variety.) The carrot cake and red velvet cupcake were excellent and I would absolutely order them again. Their taste was the closest I think you can get to the original, non-LC version. However, the vanilla cupcake and birthday roll well slightly on the dry side and not very flavorful. They were still good dessert substitutes for people trying to stay low-carb, but they were not as successful as the other two desserts I tried. I also noticed that the desserts tasted better if they were room-temperature than if you ate them cold like they are served. It was crowded when I came, so I did not take much time to browse or look at the interior. However, it appeared clean and had a cute, casual feel to it. The cashier was not particularly friendly, but, again, they were busy. The biggest warning I would give is that the store is not particularly easy to get to and does not have a designated parking lot for it. Sandy Springs has harrowing traffic in/out of the city for those that do not know, so that may be a consideration for people who do not like to drive. When I came, the road in front of the store was closed and so I had to park on a side street on the back for the building and walk to the shop. However, I understand that this is a problem that is probably no longer occurring, hence the reason I did not take a star off for it. In all, I do recommend this bakery for low-carb dieters looking for a treat. As with all low-carb desserts though, it is not 1:1 with the taste of a normal dessert. Knowing that, I still really appreciate that this bakery exists and plan to return for more sweets in the future. read more

Giving another review after my 1st visit 2 years ago. The everything kitchen cookie looked amazing, and was good except too much swerve. The cinnamon roll still needs more cinnamon. It's more like a coconut roll and the cream cheese icing would've been more delicious with a little flavor (vanilla/swerve) mixed in. The mixed berry lemon muffin had a good texture for gf/lc. We ordered two birtday cakes from this bakery. One was keto and one was not. Both cakes were beautifully decorated according to the photos I shared. The design had that well factor. Unfortunately, the cake itself was very disappointing. The keto cake was extremely dense and the icing tasted like butter. Even the non-keto cake was hard, and flavorless. there was more than 80% of the cake left as none of the guest enjoyed it. It was very disappointing. I sent a note to the person I had been corresponding with with Feedback, and didn't have the courtesy of even a response or acknowledgment. I would not recommend this bakery. read more
