    Tried a chicken pita.

Typically, Greek food has lots of flavor but not this. Paid $15 and it was just so, so. Nothing special, unfortunately.

This is a great spot for a casual lunch. The inside is clean and welcoming with lots of seating. My husband and I found this place because of the bogo they had on Uber Eats. We thought it was well worth the money and really enjoyed our Mediterranean bowl. The flavors were fresh and the meat was really savory. Even though there was no place to request having sauces on the side, we put it as a note on Uber Eats and the restaurant clearly got the memo. It's always super satisfying to know they're paying attention and I appreciated them doing that. It makes me feel like I can trust them and order from them again. I thought this was a great pickup option since the parking lot had tons of parking available. When I came into the restaurant our food was ready to go and the employee had a smile on his face too. Will definitely be back to try more!

This rating is for the honey baklava froyo! What a scrumptious dessert that seems high quality, and well balanced. You can really taste the tartness of the yogurt and it's so smooth, the honey was just amount of sweetness, and the baklava was the perfect crunch! Looking forward to trying their choco dipped Dubai cone next.

I have been shopping from these guys for over 2 years. The quality and taste of the food is very inconsistent. Some times was decent so I kept going every now and then. However, recently they started making the portions unbelievably small especially for the amount of money they charge. The pictures below is from the chicken and beef souvlaki PLATE with rice and salad. You could hardly see any rice at all. And the salad, was half way the size they used to give. My advise to the management: stop being so cheap and try to make money with fraudulent tactics like this. I can pay 1 more dollar due to inflation, but I cannot buy another plate for another 20 dollars just because you cut the portions in half.

This is our go to Greek place! Staff are always so friendly, store is bright, clean and well maintained. The food, of course is delicious! Any of their food are good but what people don't know is that the froyo is really yummy too, definitely a hidden gem.

Food was great, better than expected! We ordered the souvlaki plate and it surpassed my expectations. The meat was seasoned well, tender. The rice and pita bread was also perfect. It also came with a Greek salad on the side which was good too. Wished the tables were wiped down a bit better and that the sauce bottles were full but the food more than made up for it.

short of going to Long Beach or Chicago this is the next best thing to fresh gyros (at least that i know of) . They have roasted red pepper yogurt which is to die for versus tziki which I can't digest . Their falafels are so good we take an order home with us ! I've been here twice now and not been disappointed yet . Know they do put the fries in the gyros so if you don't like those layers ask for your fries on the side . My husbands had the plate and the chicken shawarma bowls and loved them too . We'll be back next time we are in the valley

I can't believe this location has been here for at least 2 years, I never realized they were there and have been to the Coffee Bean next door many times. "Hello McFly?" I first tried Nick the Greek while in Vegas and really liked it. So I was sooo happy when I realized there was one within 20 minutes. Nick's serves classic Greek food with their spin on the classics. Came here on Saturday for dinner. I got the Soulvaki plate with pork, rice and salad. We also got a pork gyro bowl, a chicken Soulvaki bowl and a beef/lamb gyro pita and an order of Nick's fries. (You have to get an order or Nick's fries to share for the table, YUM!). Got some froyo with Baklava and honey for desert. Everything is amazing here, my Soulvaki plate with pork is a flavor explosion. The pork is so tender and melted in my mouth. Rice is excellent and the pitas are cut into small pieces grilled to a nice crisp outside and soft inside. The salad is a simple salad, but fresh and perfectly pairs with the pork and rice and pita. The Nick's fries are a huge portion of fries with beef/lamb gyro on top with spicy yogurt, feta, green onions, garlic sauce. I love how all the flavors mix and the fries as the base is great! This is enough for 4 people to share and as I said, this is must have. The other items my Family got had the same amazing flavors, my wife was saying how good it was. Decided to get some froyo wirh baklava, this is more traditional Greek yogurt style, so it has a bit of sour along with sweet. They drizzle it with honey and give you a nice little portion of baklava in the middle. We are too much, but had to get the desert. My wife and I took half our meals home, it was so much. Bonus, get to eat it a second day. Inside is bright, clean and modern, the decor here is simple and inviting. Enjoy!

    The Mediterranean steak bowl. Delicious!

So I can in randomly after walking by a few times. I love Greek food and everything on the menu sounded really good, but I tried the new steak bowl. It was brought to me and immedi my eyes were happy. It was so colorful! I could tell everything was fresh! Mannnnnnnnnnn the first bite was insane! The kale, soft & marinated, citrusy and full of flavor! The chick peas were aromatic and crispy...hummus and red onion was lemony and perfectly garlicky then the STEAK! Extremely tender and seasoned to perfection. I ate in and it's mid day but this place deserves to be PACKED OUT. Will be coming back.

I arrived and it is again pristine and clean. I stopped by Nick the Greek's to get the new Mediterranean Steak Bowl. I can't wait to dig in. OMG! It is absolutely divine. I love everything about this new dish. I gotta hurry up and finish so I can order it again!

    Mixed lamb/beef Gyro.

I was in town next door and was curious so decided to stop in and grab a gyro. To be honest, what I was really looking for was spinakopita. I'm Greek and that's the one thing I love is a good Spinakopita, and I'm always searching for a restaurant that has Spinakopitas that taste as good as they do in Greece. Unfortunately, Spinakopita isn't on the menu. That's ok, not all places have it. They do have baklava and Lucumadas if you are looking for sweet desserts. I'm also always on the search for a good Gyro. I chose the beef/lamb combination gyro. The gyro was ok. The pita bread is nice and soft, and the tzatziki tastes pretty good. Very frugal with the fries they put inside which were very thin (I saw 4 fries in my gyro LOL). I couldn't put my finger on it with the meat, the flavoring didn't pop in my mouth. Overall it was just ok.

Here we go again!!! I looked past the hair in my food as mistakes do happen, mind you I was very vigilant while looking into my bowl. I basically order from here all the time for lunch since it's near by my office. I never once complained once about the potions until I asked them to give me potions that I'm paying for. Today I got a note in my food written in permanent marker making my food smell like a sharpie. I called location and worker told me the owner Anton wrote the note before he left the location! Hahaha im so lost of words. I I couldn't even eat my food because the plastic bag that was tied up with the sharpie paragraph note made my food smell like permanent marker. Here's the picture below!!!!

The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with some indoor limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers.  COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination.  While I was here eating my food in this establishment a month ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. But this isn't strictly enforced. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is incredibly small. They have valet parking. I urge you to park on the street. However, be wary of the signs. On one side, there is a no parking sign on Wednesdays from 12PM - 3PM. On the other side, it says no parking on Thursdays from 12PM - 3PM. Basically don't go there on Monday and Tuesday (they are closed) and Wednesday and Thursdays for horrible street parking. It is a shame that a cute mom and pop restaurant closed. I am sad that I did not know about it sooner. I would have came more frequently. They have been opened since 1948. Very impressive! Food: I ordered a baklava, spanakopita, and gyro sandwich. The house made baklava went perfect with my coffee the next day. A delicious start to a new day. The baklava combines layers of honey-soaked crisp phyllo pastry and a cinnamon-scented nut mixture with pistachios, walnuts, and hazelnut. To me, nothing rivals homemade baklava. The texture of crispy and flaky phyllo pastry. The crunchy filling. And the warm honey syrup. It is all I want in a dessert / breakfast. The spanakopita was very delicious and filling. This spanakopita had sauteed spinach, feta cheese and seasonings, all wrapped up in phyllo dough and baked until golden brown and crisp. It's the perfect blend of spinach, cheese, onions, and herbs in a buttery crust. It was very savory. The gyro sandwich was so mouthwatering. My gyro sandwich included succulent, marinated, and seasoned lamb and beef grilled to perfection. Then it was wrapped up with fresh tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and feta cheese in warm, soft, and slightly chewy pita, and slathered in delicious homemade creamy tzatziki sauce. I got a pistachio yogurt bar from their mini deli and market area. It was so nutty, creamy, and rich. Perfect for a hot summer's day. I love that they use real pistachio with yogurt to make it. None of the fake artificial stuff was used. Glad I didn't offer my close friend a bite of this otherwise he would have suffered a severe allergic reaction in the restaurant. That would have made the dining experience incredibly memorable, and not in a good way LOL I love that they have a complimentary water station for customers to grab as much water as they want. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

After leaving DTLA to work in the suburbs, I haven't been back and sad to say, it took a looming permanent closure to bring me back. What I loved about the place is still tried and true: a free parking lot (just need to tip the valet) and delicious Greek good. I don't eat lamb so my go to back then was the fish sandwich. I got it again, over 10 years later, and it is still as good as remembered. Prices have doubled (what can you expect in our current economy T_T), but the portion is still generous and the food still fresh and yummy. I brought BF and we ordered a spread enough for a family of four: spanakopita, tiropita, sausage appetizer, gyro sandwich, beef kefta patties sandwich (they were out of the beef kebab), fish sandwich, chicken kebab plate, and loukoumades dessert. Everything was fresh, light and delicious (okay, the dessert was a little too sweet for me)! We also grabbed a $3.99 baguette from the connected market. If you're planning on coming for one last visit before they close that first weekend of May 2025, make sure to come early and queue in the front of the store. The line will move and there should still be plenty of seating available after you order. If you come within the last 30 minutes before closing, you'll have to order to go. The employees here are still as courteous and friendly as ever. We were also jazzed to be graced with the presence of Chrys Chrys himself on our visit. We will miss you, Papa Cristo's!

I still remember trying Atherina (fried smelts) for the first time. I couldn't believe how much I liked them and ever since then, this spot has been a staple for me and my partner. Yes, this is a long overdue review;) My absolute favorite dish is the Kotopoulo (grilled chicken with Greek potatoes in lemon and herb sauce) - 5/5 The chicken is always juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, and those potatoes are the perfect pairing, zesty, herby, and comforting. It's the dish I always look forward to. Other favorites worth mentioning: Paidakia (char-grilled lamb chops) - 5/5 Phenomenal and full of flavor. Hitapodi (char-grilled octopus with AC vinaigrette, oregano & fava purée) -4/5 Perfectly prepared and very tasty. Taverna (bean purée with yellow split pea, olive oil, spices & tahini) - 4/5 A smooth, flavorful starter. Pita wrap - 3/5 Decent, but not as memorable as the other dishes. Their salads are also excellent. I rotate between the Sparta, Horiatiki, and Mikonos (my personal favorite for the arugula). For drinks, the hibiscus margarita is always my go-to. If you're into mules, the Mikonos Mule is unique, but fair warning, it has a strong black licorice taste that not everyone will enjoy. Two years ago we celebrated my girlfriend's mother's birthday here, and once again, the food and service were excellent. Jessica, who often takes care of us, is one of the best, always upbeat, kind, and full of positive energy. She makes every visit feel special. The vibe is casual and lively, with open seating, TVs showing sports, and a full bar. On weekends, they offer brunch and a Sunday barbecue on the patio, which my partner swears is great (still on my list to try). Mar Vista Tavern is truly a neighborhood gem. You'll see families, friends, and locals gathering here, and the vibe is always welcoming. Great food, top-notch service, and a place that keeps us coming back.

I finally had the chance to stop in for a solo early dinner, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Lule Kabob Combo ($22), which included skewers of minced beef and chicken, rice, veggies, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The highlights of the meal were definitely the salad and the grilled tomato; the pomegranate seeds in the rice were also a nice touch. However, the meats weren't to my taste--the chicken had an odd aftertaste, and while the beef was better, neither really worked for me. Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. On the positive side, the portion sizes are very generous for the price point, and I left feeling full. I also have to mention that the patio is adorable and very "Instagrammable," so it's a great spot if you're looking for a photo-friendly environment. A quick note for future visitors: they are currently having issues with their card reader and are requesting cash or Zelle. It felt a little unusual to be rung up on a register only to pay via Zelle, but it wasn't a major deal. While I appreciated the atmosphere and value, the food itself just wasn't for me, so I likely won't be returning.

Perfect food to order to the office!…read more Highly recommend this place for juicy chicken and good chimichurri sauce. The side portion of the fries is very small so order more if you are craving it! I also expected more seasoning but the fry itself is my favorite- very soft and potatoy. Salad and salad dressing is good and pairs well with anything you get!

Uber Delivery I have…read morebeen eating here (in person and delivery) for many years. I love their gyro plate and all the fixin' that come with it. So many sides to choose from, just depends on what mood I am in. I wish I had written reivews in the past, because unfortunately the price and quality doesn't seem the same for my usual plate, but some of the other items were really good. I placed a delivery order on Uber eats. We ordered: Calamari Pan Seared Veggies Penne with Butter and Parmesan (BOGO) Lemon Chicken Pita Sandwich Gyro Plate Appetizers: Calamari - there was A LOT of calamari in this order. It took us a couple of sittings to eat it all. I even took some to work the next day. My only issue was that it seemed over fried so it lost the texture of the squid inside and I wasn't too fond of the sauce that it came with. Pan Seared Veggies - These were quite good! My toddler loved the broccoli. There was zucchinni, squash, mushrooms, onions, carrots and broccoli. It was seasoned very well and the broccoli had a nice char at the tops. Entrees: Penne with Butter and Parmesan - They should add garlic to that as well. I really enjoyed that part. Definitely a lot of butter, but it settled to the bottom so the noodles weren't too greasy. Toddler loved it.. but there sure was a lot of it. It comes with a little side of bread with cheese on it as well Lemon Chicken Pita Sandwich - My husband really liked this. He basically ate it 2 nights in a row. He really liked how the chicken tasted but he questioned the random 2 fries they added into the pita (he thought they were rougue fries that fell in until he saw it in the 2nd pita as well). Gryo Plate - House salad and Rice Pilaf So I'm not sure if this was an Uber thing or from the restaurant, but the base price did NOT include the sides. All sides were an additional $3 and up and you were required to pick 2. The base price was $23.95, then with 2 $3 sides it came out to $30 for my plate. I still got it because they have my favorite gyros. It definitely came with a good amount of protein, but it was strange that I didn't get a salad dressing, just 2 containers of tzatziki. It just didn't quite taste as good as before. Maybe it was on off day, but this dish was very disappointing since I spent so much on it. They do have the BOGO offers though, that was nice.

If I could only recommend one restaurant in LA, hands down, it would be Bavel. It's technically the…read moresister restaurant to Bestia, but in my opinion, it's even better. What we ordered- We always start with the duck hummus and chicken liver, rich, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with their fluffy pita. The lamb neck shawarma is a non-negotiable, falls right off the bone, juicy, and comes with the perfect accompaniments. We also got the grilled dorade and oyster mushrooms, both are consistently excellent. This time we swapped our usual shrimp for the crudo and peach salad, and honestly, both were amazing. Still team shrimp overall, but it just goes to show you really can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Service is always attentive and the ambiance is upscale with lots of natural lights and greenery. Parking - There is valet parking and a pay to park lot across the street by Girl and the Goat. While there is street parking in the area, I've noticed a lot of smashed glass from break ins. (I've also had my car broken into before by the pottery studio ... they stole my pink picnic blanket)

Because of Bavel's outstanding reputation, we were excited to celebrate such a special occasion here. The food was excellent, and our server was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, the dining environment significantly detracted from what should have been a memorable evening. Our party of seven was seated at the chef's table directly adjacent to the open-flame kitchen on a day when temperatures were around 90 degrees. The heat at our table was overwhelming, especially for those seated with their backs to the kitchen. Several members of our party, including elderly family members, were extremely uncomfortable throughout much of the meal. Adding to that, the constant shouting of orders from the kitchen made it difficult for our family to have conversations during our daughter's engagement celebration. We understand that many guests enjoy sitting near an open kitchen, but on this particular evening the combination of the kitchen heat and what appeared to be inadequate air conditioning made the experience far less enjoyable than we expected. Even our son and his family, who have dined at Bavel many times, commented that this was not consistent with their previous experiences. Bavel's food deserves its reputation, but comfort is also an important part of a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, the excessive heat and noise overshadowed what should have been a joyful family celebration. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues so future guests can enjoy the exceptional meal in a more comfortable environment.

This cozy neighborhood spot (formerly Freedman's) has that perfect casual-yet-vibrant vibe--think breezy Greek taverna meets LA cool--with excellent charcoal-grilled dishes and a great all-Greek wine list. The service was genuinely amazing. Our server Petra took incredible care of us from start to finish--attentive, knowledgeable, and warm without being over-the-top. And shoutout to the incredible bartender Penny. The whole team made us feel right at home. We went family-style and ordered a fantastic spread: * The lamb was a highlight--tender, perfectly grilled, and packed with flavor * Saganaki was cheesy, crispy, and fun. * Branzino came beautifully grilled with bright lemon orzo--fresh, flaky, and spot-on. * Mushrooms were earthy and well-seasoned. * Crispy fries were addictive. * We ended on a sweet note with honey balls (those little fried dough bites drizzled in honey--crispy, sticky, and addictive) and the baklava pie. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and meant for sharing. Portions lean toward the smaller side (typical for meze-style Greek plates), so ordering a variety works perfectly for a group. Greekman's hits that sweet spot of quality ingredients, simple execution done right, and welcoming hospitality. Whether you're in the vine-covered patio, intimate dining room, or at the speakeasy-style bar, it's a winner. We'll definitely be back--highly recommend!

I had the chicken souvlaki (which was super tasty) with a big piece of pita (fresh) and the herbed rice (also very tasty), as well as the very lemony potatoes, which was crisp and yes, lemony, but not too sour, just the right amount. We also got the honey balls, which were sort of churro-ish but balls. The place was also nice and clean (though a little too dark if, like me, you get there early and have to kill time before the rest of your party arrives, so you try to read, but can't), and the staff was helpful and friendly. So, what do you need to be prepared for? Well, they usually serve stuff family style. Because of this, things don't come out at all once. In our case, we got the pita a good 10-15 minutes before the chicken. But while this would normally be a blemish, it wasn't because not only did my friends tell me this would happen, but so did our server. Which is why I'll go again, especially since I now know what to expect. One last note: the place is in a strip mall, and while I had no problem finding a spot, my friends had to go elsewhere.
