Zanya Spa Salon was truly a one-stop shop for my wedding beauty needs. I started going to Madison about eight months before the wedding for Hydrafacials, so by the time the wedding came around, they had really gotten to know my skin, my hair, and what I was looking for. Lyz, the bridal coordinator, was incredibly responsive and organized throughout the whole process, and she also did my makeup on the wedding day. She made me feel so beautiful while still looking like myself, which was exactly what I wanted. Zanya did my hair trial, but due to a personal emergency the night before my wedding, the team had to pivot and someone else stepped in to do my hair. Even with the last-minute change, it turned out great, and I really appreciated how smoothly they handled everything. My girls looked beautiful as well, and the whole team made the morning feel calm and taken care of. I'm so happy I trusted Zanya and her team for my wedding day! read more

I've been to Zanya Spa one other time (outside of my visit today) and it was a great visit. What I experienced today was horrific and I need people to be aware of how this spa handles what I endured. I had a massage with Frances. It was a 90 minute deep tissue. The massage began as normal with me laying face down and the therapist applying pressure to my back. She then moved on to my arms. I noticed that she began only massaging me with one hand and then would take 10-15 seconds and stop and stand still. Then she would start again. Then she would stop. This happened so often I wondered "Is she on her phone?" It was the type of pausing that made you wonder what was going on because it wasn't expected and it was awkward. She continued to massage the other arm the same way - with one hand and taking these weird pauses. I finally decided I was going to open my eyes to see if I could see any indication of her being on her phone without lifting my head or disrupting. I look to my left and I see her shadow and her hand had her phone it. I was so appalled. Then, about 3 minutes later, I hear the very distinct sound of a FaceTime call- She had made a FaceTime call and someone had picked up but didn't say anything. I was laying on the table face down and feeling extremely vulnerable and uncomfortable. At this point, I truly wasn't sure what to do our how to proceed. I began gaslighting myself, trying to justify why she would have her phone in the service room. I spent the remainder of the massage in panic mode trying to figure out what I would say to her after the massage. She proceeded to massage me with one hand the rest of the time and even after I flipped to my back. This massage was HORRIBLE. Long pauses, and It had no flow, as no work was being done on my body. It was the worst massage Ive ever had and its because she was on her phone the entire time. When she finally got to my head, she paused again and I could hear her on her phone again, as it was right by my head. Was she taking photos of me? Was she recording me? These were the thoughts racing through my mind. After the massage, I was so mortified, I asked to speak with the manager Jessica. Jessica was receptive and kind and validated my feelings. She told me, under no circumstances, should the massage therapist have their phone in the service room- with the exception of family emergencies that they might need to answer to- and in that case, a courtesy heads up would be given so that the client knows. My massage was refunded to me and I left feeling violated and disgusted. I decided I needed to explain myself further and ask what was going to happen after this? Knowing that this person could be working with others made me feel sick. The owner of the spa, Zanya, called us and had a completely different tone than Jessica. She did apologize, but only after she defended Frances and said that she is type 1 diabetic and just had a family member pass. Contrary to Jessica, she defended Frances having her phone and acted like this was nothing new for her. She said she had her phone out to check her insulin levels. I was also told the FaceTime sound I heard was her "alarm". She explained that Frances is a trusted massage therapist who's been with Zanya for "years". She said "this has never happened that a client has complained about her being on her phone during a service." We asked for France's license number and we were told to look it up ourselves. First of all, there is no alarm sound that mimics the FaceTime call / answer sound. This is a bold face lie. Second of all, if she is in fact type 1 diabetic, and her insulin level dropped (as Zanya said) why didn't she ask to leave the room to take care of herself? If she's a type 1 diabetic and has been there for years and requires her phone to be in the treatment room, she should know then, to let her clients know what's going on. I find it very hard to believe that this is a standard way of working for Frances and that clients just accept it. Thirdly, the entire massage was done with one hand with regards to 10 minutes. The only time Frances had both hands on my body was when she was rubbing my back or legs. This massage was choppy and oddly paced due to the fact that she took long pauses to check her phone / go on her phone / do god knows what on her phone. It is unacceptable to me that a massage therapist would bring their phone into a service room, unbeknownst to the client. This is an extreme breach of privacy and I felt violated and taken advantage of. Oh and by the way, this spa is operating without a license. When I said "you're operating your spa without a current license" she paused for about 10 seconds and said "which one" and I said "your massage and body work license". She said "we're working on that" The license has been expired since November 2022. read more

My friend and I both booked oxygen facials at least a month before our appointments. When we settled into our rooms, both our aestheticians informed us they were changing our facials to vitamin c facials. Why? If we had wanted a vitamin c facial we would have booked that. That said, the experience was just OK. At times my treatment was a little rough and not relaxing ( hair pulled, glands squeezed). Was not worth the price. I called the spa to discuss my experience and they were very accommodating. Will return for another facial. read more

Everything was wonderful! I made a reservation for 4 people for my mom's birthday. The receptionist was great at booking and confirming the appointments. When we arrived we were greeted with some wine and had a lovely cozy room to share and wait in. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing... once finished we walked around the shop area for a bit and everyone was so helpful and kind. I got a wonderful haircut yesterday from Paula. I have short curly hair and she did exactly what we discussed. The layering was simple and exquisite. As well, the head massage during the shampoo was divine! I have been a loyal Zanya customer for more than a decade, even as the prices rose to NYC levels... it's kinda the only game in town. Which is why I was so disappointed with my last service. After waiting 35 minutes for a hair treatment I was finally brought back, no apology whatsoever for the wait, even after making both the assistant and provider aware that I was seriously crunched for time. I then received the most basic of services, not even eye contact from the colorist - whom I've been seeing for years - and the majority of the service performed by the shampoo girl (who was very sweet, though admitted to being overbooked that day, and therefore unable to administer the highly anticipated scalp massage). I will go back, but will try a different colorist, and hope for a better experience. Very disappointing. read more

I have been going to Zanya Salon regularly to get my hair cut and colored, eyebrows waxed and sometimes spa treatments for years. The salon definitely pays attention to details; covering your bag and the arms of your glasses so they doesn't get hair color on them, using warm towels, offering you a beverage, and putting up the foot of your chair while you are getting your hair shampooed. This salon does a great job with being on time and coordinating appointments. I often book multiple appointments for one visit, which could include up to 4 different stylists. I am very impressed that there has never had a problem with timing being off. The worst case scenario is a 10 minute wait between appointments and they will often the row in a scalp massage or conditioning treatment for the wait. The stylists are very knowledgeable, well-trained and very friendly. I have been to several different stylists for cut and color and have never left there unhappy. The stylists tend to offer their opinion, which I like because they are the experts! When the first started going to Zanya spa I had very dark hair and wanted to go blonde. The stylist was very realistic with me and set me up to achieve what I wanted, over time, without damaging my hair. My hair is the blond that I want and the quality of my hair has not suffered from it! Several stylists at the salon have introduced me to new products that actually work the way they say they are going to! If I had to say anything negative about the salon it is that it is a bit pricey. However, I do feel that the quality of the salon is worth the cost. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I had my hair done here for my wedding two months ago and it is my sole regret from the whole weekend. Giving two stars because the space was clean and modern. The pricing was exorbitant with both the trial run and day of costing $160 for a "Level 1" stylist. Then the added annoyance of the girls up front trying to charge me $190 each time. The trial run left me with curls that were never as tight as what I'd asked for but the stylist said I could see how it falls and let her know if she needed to change anything day of...ok great. Except she responded to my request for tighter curls by continuing to use the exact same size curling iron. Instead she just doused my hair in hairspray and left the curling iron on my hair until it sizzled and popped for a good 20 seconds. I still have a bunch of broken off strands around my crown, so thanks for the souvenir. I even had to correct her when she started putting curls in the wrong direction. My hair fell before I even got back to the hotel, which is 10 minutes away. Luckily my bridesmaids found someone on craigslist to do their hair. She was able to throw some curls in the most visible part and set them correctly so you could get the idea of the look I was going for. I should not have had to pay someone else more money to fix my hair after spending over $300 here! I guess that's what you get if you allow a "Level 1" employee at Zanya salon to do your hair. read more

Rae gave me a brilliant hair cut, by far the best one I've had in the last 10 years. Extremely talented, polite, patient, friendly, approachable, just a wholesome person with real talent. This low review is purely for customer service as I ended up leaving Zanya's before my hair cut and 20 minutes after my booked time. I checked in for a 3:45 appointment at 3:30 today and was promptly offered a beverage. And then they forgot about me: no guidance for coat check nor updates on my delayed appointment. The clock ticked to 3:45 (original appointment time), then at 3:57 I asked the receptionist for an update. The same woman who checked me in and provided my drink 27 min earlier said "oh you have to wait til 4". I reminded her my appointment was supposed to start at 3:45 and to her credit she went to double check. When she came back she said I had to wait another 10 minutes because the client before me was late. I have no problem waiting IF I was informed beforehand - perhaps when I checked in 30 min prior. That would have been a great time to be informed. It was my first time here and I was looking forward to trying out Zanya's given all the press they tout on their website but this customer experience is ridiculous. So much selection is great, but with it comes the price of attitude. First off, Zanya is a full service spa, complete with an MD for your botox/laser treatments etc. I don't know why it's listed as a hair salon- they do hair, but about a million other things as well. All I had here was a pedicure. I had worked hard for 14 days straight and my feet were killing me. I checked in at the front desk and was led downstairs to a zen-inspired waiting room with a fountain, where I sat on a comfy couch and enjoyed yummy liquorice tea. I perused a menu of services for a few minutes- they do everything here. Lots of massage options, facials (for your back!), a full body sea salt scrubdown... certainly anything I could imagine. They have lots of packages for wedding parties, moms and daughters, couples, etc. I can't give a good opinion on the pricing, I'm not a spa junkie. My pedicurist greeted me, a very nice, well dressed girl, and led me down a few hallways to another room. This place was cool. Everywhere is dimly lit, and everyone whispers. Cell phones are not allowed. It's incredibly peaceful. The decor is modern with muted colours and lots of zen elements. Nothing is too bright, all very sexy. I sat on this Moroccan looking couch/bench with a zillion pillows surrounded by a zillion candles and put my feet in a stone basin filled with lavender water... away we go. After about an hour I left with sexy pink toes, very relaxed and a little energized. It's been 3 weeks and my pedi still looks awesome. Best Part: The total experience. I'm very new to spas, but I just loved everything about this place. The foot massage was great, everything smelled lovely but not overpowering, the atmosphere was very, very calming. Worst Part: I'm not saying it wasn't worth $55- it totally was. However, the place is out of my price range for once a month. It'll have to be a treat. Appointments are highly recommended. read more

Zanya's is an NYC level salon in Lambertville with all the bells and whistles. I've gotten hair and nail treatments now and then but am probably not going to return. My last two pedicures, arranged with an old friend in order to relax and catch up, had the added bonus of our pedicurists actively joining in to our conversation. The sweet but young gals mistook the small talk early on for an invitation to socialize and I would think that an upscale spa like Zanya's trains the staff to be more professional. When you're 40 something and paying $60, you shouldn't feel like you have to listen to your 20 something pedicurist's personal life. Amateur hour. And I agree with several other reviews about the front desk. Their attempt at professionalism comes off like contempt for the customer. Gross. read more

I wish I had something like this in my area...and I live in NYC! No honestly NYC has everything you could every dream of, but we don't have a Spa this LARGE. I loved the size and how everything has it's own area.. and so much to offer! Even a Med Spa with a on team Doctor. I love going to one place and getting everything I need in one shot, instead of jumping from place to place. Mani-Ped here, Hair there, massage here... That takes forever! So to be able to book all your services in one day, and then have lunch delivered to you is the only way to go. In the basement they have a Spa, which is dimly lit and has a very relaxing feeling. A nice waiting area as well, I also believe the Medi Spa is located in the basement as well... Upstairs is more of the hustle and bustle, the hair salon, makeup area, clothing boutique, manicures... I enjoyed my visit. And I already scheduled my next trip for a FULL day of beauty! I can't wait. I had a salon in my old area (Cherry Hill) called Rizzieri, it's similar but I like the uniqueness of this Spa. It's a nice treat for when I come to visit the New Hope area. I thought Zanya's was really lovely inside - soothing spa atmosphere downstairs, cute boutique upstairs, nice salon setup - and they did a very good job with my friend's hair and make-up for her wedding. The prices and the service I received, though, were another story. I might be spoiled by the prices at the many fabulous and cheap salons in New York City, but I thought the prices were unreasonable - an "express" mani-pedi, with none of the usual comforts, cost me as much as I usual pay in NY for a regular mani-pedi with a bit of massaging, etc. But the worst part was that after paying for such an expensive manicure, the polish was already coming off the next day. I was back at Zanya's that day with my friend the bride, and I asked the woman who seemed to be the manager if someone could just touch up the tips where the polish had started peeling - they didn't even have to take off the polish that was already there, just dab a little bit of color so it wouldn't be quite as noticeable, to get me through the wedding that night. But she very rudely told me that I would have to wait 45 minutes before anyone would be able to help me. And of course, by the next day, it already looked like I was wearing week-old polish on one hand. And since I got a pedicure after the manicure, and waited a little bit of time after that, too, it should have had plenty of time to dry. On the plus side, the woman who did my nails was really nice - I attribute the crappy polish job mostly to the fact that the salon had made her schedule so rushed more than anything else. read more

Very nice place. I've been going here off and on for many years. It's pricey. So I view it as a treat. I went recently for a color and high lights. Not a cut. Everyone was super nice. My hair was colored, still wet, the shampoo girl asked me if I made an appointment for a dry. No I didn't. Didn't even think of it. $35.00 extra. She set me up with supplies for the self serve area. I did my usual style. For some reason I expected the hair colorist to come see what my hair looked like dry, if I was happy or to at least say goodbye. He did not. I have come here many times for pedicures over the last few years because of the relaxing atmosphere and overall good experience. I came here recently for the first time in a while with my sister and I was really surprised with the service we got. We each got Mindful Pedicures and because there was only one nail tech, we had to go right after each other. When I made the appointment, the woman on the phone said the second appointment would be 45 minutes after the first, leading me to believe the pedicure would be 45 minutes. I was wrong, it was only 30 minutes at most and, to our surprise, didn't include any lotion or sort of leg massage. This seemed a little insulting considering it costs $45 + tip, but I guess that's on me for not reading closer. However, the most uncomfortable aspect of this pedicure experience was our interactions with our nail tech Naomie. She could not have been less enthused about doing our nails, made rude jokes about the general clientele, and interjected in our conversation to ask really personal prying questions. I am always happy to include the people doing my nails in my conversations when it's appropriate, but my sister and I were shocked by her demeanor. Frankly, by the end of it, we were relieved that the pedicure was only 30 minutes. Neither I nor my sister will be going back to Zanya. read more

I had such a disappointing manicure and pedicure from Naomi. First appointment of the day and she could not have have had less enthusiasm for her job. I felt like I was putting her out just being there! Perhaps this was a bad day for her but when spending $120 on a manicure and pedicure, it would be nice to have someone put in at least some effort. Trust the process and lose 200$ in that process. Wanted something on the lighter side (hair dye wise) my hair was natural and black. I showed them a reference picture and they said they could do it. Word of advice don't say you can do something and then do something completely different. I would've taken a simple no as an answer if they couldn't do it because my hair was too dark, but they claimed they could lighten my hair close enough to white to match the picture I wanted. From past experience I know that with my hair this dark you would need really strong bleach, or you would need multiple sessions, if this was done properly, I would've taken the option for multiple sessions. My hair lifted but was still yellow and now I am left with a color that barely even shows, nothing like how I wanted now I have to go some other place to get my hair done right. Claimed it was a lighting issue that I just have to be in the light in order to see it but seriously I've been looking for it and it just looks like my natural hair and there were still yellow streaks everywhere. Last time coming here, don't get your hair colored if it isn't blonde, brown, or red because what I got was disappointing. To say that I left there speechless would be an understatement. This salon really suffers from lack of management and customer focus. Although I am not a regular customer, I have tried some services over the years and things just never work out. I am always reminded of that old adage "You get what you pay for." Truer words were never spoken when it comes to this salon. First of all, the front desk is an absolute nightmare. These people should not be representing anyone's business. There are two women, an older one with short hair and a younger one with short hair who need to be sent to charm school. They are so nasty. I am the customer, you just work here. If you did things right the first time, I wouldn't have an attitude and you wouldn't have to fix it so how about you drop your attitude? The younger ones clearly need training. As usual, I walked in today only to be told that my appointment was 2 hours later. No, I repeated it twice when the appointment was changed the day before. Get your sh** straight. I bit my tongue and came back 2 hours later and had a hair cut and blow dry that took about 30 minutes total. My hair was actually damp in the back when I felt it later. My hair was not finished at all. In fact, it looked like I stepped out of the shower and air dried it. My mother saw me and said, "I thought you had your hair done?" I get my hair cut and colored by 2 of the top people in the country. Because of the blizzard we had this past weekend, I was desperate for a trim because my stylist had to rearrange his travel schedule and couldn't make it to NYC. This is why I ended up at Zanya. Both my stylist and my colorist have told me two things: 1) Don't let anyone else touch your hair 2) Deep condition and wear your hair in a ponytail until you see us again. These two things will hide a multitude of sins. The people I normally see merely have to raise an eyebrow at their staff and they hop to attention. There is no attitude and they are completely customer focused. I leave looking like I am about to be photographed for the cover of Vogue. Beautiful color, an excellent cut and fabulous customer service come at a price. Don't be afraid to pay it. Do not put up with the shoddy customer service and poor skill level you are receiving when you set foot inside Zanya. I will never spend another dime in here again. P.S. And if you are just looking for products, go to Metropolis in Princeton. They are very customer focused, love to hand out samples and are extremely helpful! read more

I have been going here for years. Friendly consistant service, trendy cuts, long lasting color. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star instead of a 5, is due to the fact that the price you pay for services depends upon the "level" of the stylist or colorist you have. I have needed to change colorists and hair cutters over the years because the price really goes up with every level the stylist moves up. Expensive, but I think this salon is worth it. read more
