I had an absolutely appalling experience at the ZARA store in Glendale Galeria Los Angeles. After calmly expressing my dissatisfaction with the poor service, I was shocked to be escorted out by security at the request of the Armenian store manager. I did not raise my voice, nor was I disrespectful in any way. I was humiliated in front of other customers simply because the manager seemed unable to manage her own stress and responsibilities. I bought a pair of men's loafers and I realized it doesn't go with any of the clothes I wear so I brought it back a couple days later to return but the lady said she can't accept it cause the bottoms were dirty like it was worn. I wouldn't be mad if I did wear them but the only time I wore them was at the store when I tried it on and in my room ONCE. It looked brand new and the bottoms were still white. I've been to this location several times and it seems like the lines are always extraordinary long. Just this past weekend the line for the men's checkout line extended all the way back to the end of the room. I ended up waiting over thirty minutes just to checkout which is absolutely absurd. Customers are also not socially distancing themselves from others in line and you will frequently see customers half wearing masks. This shouldn't be acceptable in the store. The employees should do a better job in managing their customers and making sure procedures are being followed. Clothes are also scattered and not neatly folded. You'll frequently see clothing on the floors or not in the right area. Heck you'll find men's clothing in the female section and vice versa. This Zara location seriously needs to do a better job in all categories - customer service, management of customers, and enforcing procedures. read more

The staff is kind of rude. I went and asked the online support chat about exchanging an item I had purchased that ended up having a defect. After jumping through hoops with them about the exchange process they suggested I go back to the store. I asked them to verify that the store had the item in stock which they confirmed multiples of online. I returned the following day and explained the issue to a manager who gave me all kind of attitude for my request insisting that "they don't normally do this kind of thing" (mind you it has been less than 48 hours since my purchase at this point) but they would make an exception for me . Said I should go find the item I wanted to exchange and come back. I spoke to two associates in that department who searched high and low and didn't find the item. This place usually has the best Zara selection in the entire Los Angeles area. But that's the only thing good about this place. This makes me quite sad because I used to shop here on a semi weekly basis. But recently, the lines have gotten out of control. The employees say it's because of the no dressing room policy that's currently in place due to the pandemic but that's complete bullshit. There are plenty of stores these days that don't have lines even close to this place despite the closed dressing rooms. Zero Stars, yelp! I have officially had it with this location. The Manager, as mentioned several times in these reviews, completely lacks ANY sense of customer service. I have witnessed her behave absolutely appallingly to customers for months now- and today, it was finally my turn. The tone she took with me for simply trying to return a dress I just received the day before (tags and receipt included) and one I already replaced with a new size, was disgusting and quite frankly shocking. It was shipped to me with a microscopic dot on it (surprise surprise). She claimed I "wore it", said it was makeup. It came that way but apparently she is omniscient and all customers are liars and fraudsters to her. When I protested, she snapped at me and said "I am SPEAKING to my CASHIER." Yes! About ME when I'm standing right here. It was unreal. I have been in retail for ten years and I can't imagine speaking to a customer the way she did. This is a daily occurrence with her, and the tone she sets in that store starts at the top. There are a handful of truly lovely employees, but a number of them are incredibly rude, and cannot be bothered to provide any sense of customer service, let alone basic eye contact. Personal conversations take precedence over working the line at the cash wrap, and customers are BERATED like criminals for simply trying to make returns and exchanges. Everyone who shops here has witnessed this behavior. Perhaps if Zara had consistency in sizing, people wouldn't have to keep returning their stuff, but that's another argument for another day. I reported my experience in this location with customer service- not expecting any changes so even though this location is close to me, I'll be making the drive to Arcadia to avoid ever dealing with the manager at this location again. Returns to Zara are the worst. The return line is always so long. And if you don't have a receipt (I know, my bad but still) you can't get store credit. Exchange only, even if you have the card you used to make the purchase. If you want credit or a refund you have to call customer care so they can email you a receipt. This is a nice Zara and one of the girls on the floor was super helpful finding me something I was looking for but the girl who rang me up ruined the whole experience for me. The girl at the register (maybe named Brenda since she had that name on her necklace) was so rude. I wanted to do an even exchange for a different size and she said I couldn't do that. What store doesn't allow you to exchange something for a different size? I've shopped at Zara enough to be aware of their return/exchange policies. This store is ran by the worst managers!!! Not only that, their return policy is terrible. They start your return timing of 30 days from the date it's ordered. I waited in line 20 minutes on 6/26/2025 just to find out I was a day late. It gets worse... there's only one register accepting cash because the manager closed the other ones out 30 min before close. The one register taking cash is held up by a long online return. To make things worse the sweet associate takes matters into her own hands and decides they need to reopen cash on another register that was previously counted. The female manager who apparently they couldn't name because it's their policy walks over (Spanish speaking, hair in a braid) and starts berating her employee for opening the register for cash. She's doing this in front of the 15+ customers in line. As this manager walks away she mumbled curse words we all heard. Won't ever shop here again! The line here is constantly a complete disaster. On each occasion visiting this location. I've waiting at least 35 mins to check out. Today, I waited in a "returns" line for an hour. There is now two lines, one to purchase, the other to return or exchange. Naturally, the return/exchange line is significantly longer than the purchase only line. Why do you have the same number of cashiers tending to both?! I mean realistically! If you have 30 people in one line and 5 people in the other. Wouldn't you rather have 3 cashiers helping the long line. While one cashier helps the short line. NO! they have two and two helping both. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! To make matters worse everyone works at the pace of a sloth. Just be prepared to spend an extremely large amount of time here. He was the kindest and friendliest employee and he went out of his way to make sure that we are happy and able to find what we were looking for. Had a very bad experience today while I was returning a dress. The cashier who didn't have name badge was very rude. I was returning a $30 dress with the tag attached and even the belt attached so you can clearly see that it wasn't worn. She was keep checking the dress for 6 min without saying a word, tossing and turning the dress and I finally ask is there anything wrong? Can you please just return the dress? She was like well there is a stain on the dress and we don't usually return items like this! Where is the receipt? I show her the receipt on my phone which the purchase was from a week ago. She continued checking the dress. I'm like can you please hurry ( I was carrying my baby ) she looked at me very rude and said I need a second opinion to return this dress, do you have time or no? I don't know about the stain maybe I just bought it like that! The stain was a little deodorant stain under the arm which it can appear on any dress while trying them on. The person gifted it from Orange County and forgot to give a gift receipt. Instead, she sent me a picture of the original receipt with the barcode to return. They said they can't do the transaction because it was a picture. Really? Called a manager and got the same response. So, you want me to go to Orange County to get a receipt for a $20 item? I would give 0 stars if the option existed. Zara is a scam that is run like a Ponzi scheme. I have notified all family members of our last 3 experiences dealing with Zara and kindly asked them to not buy us or anyone else any items from Zara. Especially gifts. I have checked their Yelp rating across America and every location has the same issue with 1 star ratings. The issues are all about Customer Service and Return Policy. I attempted to return a Christmas Gift with a gift receipt showing the item was purchased within the Holiday return window and they did not accept it because the return window changed as of January 1 2024. They change their policies as they wish and do not honor the promise given on the receipt or their own website. Last time I tried to return an item within the 30 days and they said I was past the due date. I showed them the purchase was 21 days old and within the time frame but they refused to listen. The manager told me she did not care what it said. I then said the website says within 30 days and she said she doesn't care what the website says and walked away in front of 30 customers. They tell you to call customer service to send you a return label but customer service is a complete scam. They have 0 authority to do anything but listen to your complaint like a Ponzi scheme call center. If you purchase an item online, they include the transit time into your return window!! So if it takes 2 weeks to arrive, you have like 3 days to return the item or you are stuck with it. 0 store credit or gift card. I saw an elderly female try to return her gift and the issue was the same. The employee then sent the money back to the original form of payment instead of giving it to the customer. So the customer is now stuck without a gift and what is the customer supposed to do? Contact the gift giver to ask for the money back? I am not okay with the way this business treats its customers. read more

First time in Zara. My friend frequents here so we stopped in just after the New Year to find the ultimate deals. The store was a bit messy, but that seems to be true for all the stores after the holidays. The sales seemed to be really affordable! I possibly did not like most of the styles, but fashion is NOT my thing. My friend found 3 pieces that she loved and got for a great deal. I am writing this review not because of a onetime isolated incident but because the environment at Zara Glendale has completely changed the last few years in the worst possible way. I don't know what angry pill the employees take before their shifts, but wow is it horrible. Customer service died at this store. A few incidents have happened weather with me or just things I've noticed but today was the last straw for me because I decided this time around, I'll speak to the manager, only to realize she could care less. And if the manager doesn't care I can see why the employees don't care how they speak to you or treat you. I was in the purchase line (I had 9 pieces of clothing to buy) and had one pair of shoes to return. The guy at the self-checkout asked if I was using a card, I said yes but I have a return as well he said okay and went back. I finally get to the other guy on the register and he's like you need to go to the other line, so I said but I have 9 other things I have to purchase he said "you need to go over there" cold and careless. I asked him if he can just return this one while purchasing the others with him, he said no go to the other line. And then began to smirk at me sarcastically. So, I went back to the exchange/return line and had to re-wait. I'm sure he could've made an exception, but he wanted me to start back at the line instead. Like I said, customer service = dead. So, I proceeded to talk to the manager who looked at me like I was bothering her then tells me basically I am the problem because I should've stood in the right line so I explained to her what happened and she just repeated the same bs about the exchange line. Not a care in the world about why I was there and how that could've been avoided had the first guy told me to go to the correct line. So she looks at me and says, "ok I hope you have a nice day" and turned to walk away. This isn't to say I've had only bad experiences there and all the employees are rude but majority of the time it is the case. I will drive the few extra miles and go to another location cause at this point this is just ridiculous. The 2 stars they have are more than they actually deserve. They deserve lower. I was going to pay in the self check out and soon as I got out of line I was told that it was closed rudely by the sales associate. I then said that there was no sign posted to display it was closed and she then got nastier and told me it doesn't matter its closed Get back in line which was now longer than when I got out of it. I said well I just lost my place in line and she said oh well it's closed. This young lady was rude and disrespectful. She didn't even care. While the purchasing line at Zara is quite slow, I'd rate it a 1/5, I had a great experience thanks to an amazing worker named Ryan in the Men's department. He's always been super helpful and kind every time I pick up my online orders. He's extremely knowledgeable about the products and always presents better options if available. Unlike other Zara workers who can come across as cold or complain about their jobs, Ryan is always positive and professional, yet takes the time to ask how you're doing. I've had 3 instances where cashiers are talking about how much they can't stand the customers and can't wait to leave right in front of you at the cash register as they scan your items. I understand but it's also uncomfortable and awkward to stand there and listen about the burden you customers are to them? It's clear that he truly cares about providing excellent customer service. Zara should definitely hire more employees like Ryan who understand the importance of putting customers first. I'm usually not the type to write reviews for clothing stores, but Ryan's exceptional service deserves recognition. read more

I returned with gift receipt they didn't have a store credit available, and then made me to choose the same amount of merchandise so that I can return my items.. in the end the difference was under $10. They waited for the manager for 10 minutes questioning me on my return before she gave me $10 money back when if they can't provide with store credit they have to give you cash back. every single time something is wrong with the store line is terrible. Today I had the displeasure of interacting with the manager of this Zara, who is extremely unhelpful, rude and seems to have no sense of customer service. Now I can tell why this location is such a mess compared to others like Pasadena or Santa Monica. Here's what happened- I didn't receive a confirmation email on a pair of jeans I ordered online so I waited in line for 30 minutes to exchange the jeans for the same pair in a larger size. I didn't receive an email receipt on my jeans but I did receive a text with my tracking number and order confirmation. The manager refused to even look at it and told me I need to call customer service after waiting half hour in line. I am familiar with Zara's return policy, so I asked if I can instead exchange the pants for a bigger size. They told me the jeans are out of stock AS I WAS PLACING AN ORDER FOR THE SAME JEANS ON MY PHONE. She then insisted that I didn't purchase the jeans online even though I provided her with an order confirmation and the text message from Zara with the tracking info and all that. So after much frustration and going back and fourth, I said where did I pull it out of then, my behind? And she walked away lol. I asked the manager for her name and she said they don't give out names due to California law. Unbelievable how paying customers get pushed to this point of frustration, especially after spending $200 and waiting 30 minutes in line. I also want to add that every time I come here, there are many many unhappy and frustrated customers, not like any other location.
