This is for the men's and women's side. I grew up working in retail and I have to say everyone has an attitude on both sides, weird rules, and never hold anything when you ask them too. Their mirrors are tinted so you can't see properly and I swear they only pay attention to you if you upset them. All employees should quit immediately and go work where everyone is miserable. There's one guy on the men's side, younger dude and doesn't seem to work there much. He deserves 5 stars and everyone else fired. read more

I just moved to the DTLA area and jumped at the sight of having a Zara around the corner from me. Until yesterday, this location was a GO for me. Now it is a NO- at least until they get new management and employees. The customer service sucks. The cashiers have no idea how to do their job and are SLOW. An ugly French lady (I'm not sure if she was a manager or supervisor) was extremely distasteful in her way of handling things. I tried to return an item that actually caused bruises to my body. she told me they couldn't accept as a return nor exchange.The tag and receipt were both present but her professionalism were not. They don't even have a great selection here. The girls are fake skinny, and the brand of Zara gets lost in the sauce here folks. From now on, the Hollywood & Santa Monica locations are the only ones that a) stay clean and b) have GREAT customer service. Did I mention they are also much bigger than this location? read more

PROS: This Zara is huge. But it doesn't necessarily have MORE things, it just is more spaced out than the others that I've been to. Considering it's downtown, I was surprised that there wasn't any traffic and the parking lot is easily accessible. My kids, husband and I have a wardrobe filled with Zara clothes, and this place never fails me. The clothes are long lasting and I have washed my kid's clothes many times and they still look new. I heard about this store coming into the Fig at 7th plaza last year and have been waiting and practically stalking their store opening! It's exciting that downtown is getting some recognition for it's location and this new plaza now has one of the largest Zara storefronts. The store is divided into 2 stores: Men (left) and Women & Children (right). I didn't have enough time to check out the men's side but it looked just as nice as I passed. The women's storefront is large and spacious and the layout is straight forward and doesn't feel like a maze. It was well stocked in most styles and sizes but you should get there soon if you want to make sure you find any SM or XS. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I love that I can find Zara here in DTLA and I don't have to go to the Grove location as often and fight my way around tourists and parking. Also, my gym (Gold's Gym) happens to be downstairs so it's a great source of motivation. If something doesn't fit, I hit the gym and after a week or so at the gym, I can just stroll up and get that immediate gratification (i know.. blasted X? Y? IONO Generation's values). Plus, I get 3 hours free parking with validation at the gym. What more could I ask for? read more

I've been to Zara stores in Asia and Europe and this store is not a good representation of the brand. I went in to exchange 2 jackets I received as gifts from Christmas (with gift receipts) The guy who was helping me on the register was actually really helpful until he asked a manager's approval for the exchange. The manager (who looked like he just got out of prison) started inspecting my returns. So I'm like "okay maybe he just wanted to make sure it's unworn" then he started smelling it... WTF?? Why would I even return it if I've worn it? The tags are attached, it's in tip top shape and smelling it like an uncivilized pig is so unnecessary. He then realized the clothes are unworn and approved the exchange. First and last time for me at this store. read more

I saw some other posts talking about the customer service here, and can't say I disagree... First of all, I don't know if it was because of a sale but when I went it here it was like walking thru a messy closet- clothes and shoes were laying everywhere! I didn't realize the woman's dressing room was where it was, as it is tucked behind a corner. I found the one in the kid's area, unattended. I looked around for an attendant, but just saw some girls chatting at a register, so I just went in with my items. Cut to one of them opening the curtain, nearly walking in on me changing. Do they apologize? Noooo they berate me for being in the wrong dressing room! Mind you, the store wasn't that busy and I made sure to use the smaller dressing room as to save the bigger one for shoppers with kids. So, my first interaction with anyone in the store was being chastised for using a dressing room. I read a dozen reviews with negative comments and it really made me hesitant about going to this particular Zara. I normally shop at the Zara in the Grove but to save time shopping at Macy's it was convenient to walk to the closest Zara location. I don't know if management read or got wind of the poor customer service but I have to say their staff was very helpful on today. Sales Rep "Janet" a lovely kindhearted woman was very knowledgeable about the clothing and helped me fine a great suit to wear a graduation dinner. I even received additional assistance from the dressing room staff to return and switch out sizes they were also a great help. Lastly, I only gave three stars because there were not a lot of items in my size due to the a recent sale however, the customer service compared to the reviews I've read is much higher. Hope this helps someone and I didn't not feel like I didn't belong from the staff. In fact, I purposely went in with flip flops and dressed down to see how they would interact with me in the store. read more

I used to shop at Zara since 2009 but they just lost a customer today. I bought a blouse that I loved and was prepared to wear when I noticed that the material had come apart at the inseam. It's a delicate material so can't be sewn back together. I went in to the store with it and the tag and told the cashier what happened who called the manager. When they saw I cut the inside tag off (the long one that they say to cut off before you wear it) she refused to return it and explained that's policy. I guess that's fine but this shirt was obviously a lemon. What's the point? But to make matters worse the manager just walked away, like that. My jaw dropped. She didn't apologize for the fact that they sold me a crappy shirt or that the policy sucks in this circumstance. Basically no customer service skills. I was appalled. My only complaint with this store, is how infrequently items go on sale here. I love Zara...I have been to almost all stores in CA and when I hear there is a new opening up closer to me than Pasadena and Hollywood lets just say I wanted to go !!! I was greatly disappointed to learn the stores are separated ?!? Huh ?!? This was a new one for me. I'm so use to shopping Me, Kids & Mens. I was greatly disappointed when I had to walk out of Zara one and walk outside to go into Men's Zara. Why can't they just knock down a wall and create a hallway. Indoors n not out ! The customer Service in the woman and children only Zara was horrific ! Mens Zara outshine them by a galaxy ! The guy that help me even acknowledge I had a child unlike when I walked into the Zara kids section and was right next to some one folding boys tees. Selection is on par with other locations that I shop at. Generally it is well organized and this year they've done well keeping the store tidy during the sale. My consistent gripe is that this store is located near a lot of offices so it's convenient for lunch time shopping, but the lines are always long and I have NEVER seen more than 2 people working the register in the 2.5 years that I've worked in the area. I shop here all the time and the one time I did they didn't give me a receipt. All I wanted to do was exchange it for something else because it does not fit me. They can still keep my money! But they don't allow exchanges without the receipt even with the tags on. They gave me a customer service # to call and said they can help. I agree with what some of the other reviewers said about how DTLA really needs more retail and so it was really exciting when this Zara opened up. And it has great inventory and selection and the store is laid out really nice, on one large open space, easy to navigate. Unlike Glendale which is like a maze or the Grove which is small and overcrowded and has a worse selection. Most of the bad reviews seem to be about the customer service. I have had some good service here but unfortunately it's rare. The employees here do seem really unhappy and are not friendly at all. It must suck to work there or something. However I went there the week before Christmas and almost bought a coat when one of the employees suggested that I wait until the sales so I can get it at a better price. She was awesome, so maybe they're starting to hire some nicer folk. read more

I love Zara, but this is not their best store. My main gripe is with their parking and customer service. You have to walk pretty far from the parking lot. So unless you're there to shop at other stores, going to Zara just for their store is not worth the trip. Their customer service is less than desirable. Employees can't answer simple questions about their parking and validation. Not only did I receive a different answer each time I asked someone different, but it was given with such attitude. I've been here twice and walked out empty-handed both times. Granted I am a minimalist and thus picky about what I buy, but I still need to wear clothes and thus not that picky. Clothes seem somewhat overpriced for what they are. The store is well-kept unlike their neighbor, H&M. The space is grand with minimalist appeal, so you don't feel clustered while shopping. I haven't had the need to acquire service since nothing in the store has interested me. I may update once something catches my eyes and have interaction with their staff. I don't usually write negative comments but today me and my husband were out shopping and went to Zara's men's side first (this is the Zara on Figueroa, Downtown LA). Super helpful staff and very sweet. They didn't mention anything when I went in the dressing room with him to help him make decisions. However when we went to the women's side and I went to try on clothes, my husband followed me until a woman, in a VERY unpleasant tone told him "wait outside for her!".. even if they do discriminate in the store there was no reason whatsoever for her to use that tone towards my husband. He of course got very shocked and left which left me not even wanting to try on the clothes anymore. Awful experience! And we are both from Europe and have never encountered such behavior in any Zara store before. read more

This store gives unpleasant shopping experience. The store staff members were generally pleasant. However, their fitting room staffs had no-manners and uncourteous. They acted like as if they were dormitory enforcer and military police. That's terrible attitude to deal with customers. I've never encountered such ridiculous attitude from a store clerk who was ruining my shopping mood at any other clothing store except this one. This place had one shirt left in stock on display, Manager said he couldn't take it off even though I was set on buying it, it was the last one and he said he was to take it off at closing, this Zara always gives me issues but this was the last straw I don't understand how he wouldn't take it off the display, I have been working as a Visual Manager and we are always able to take it off display and replace it with another items. I called this morning 12/24/2017 to ask what time they opened, a man answered and said they would be opening at 10am today. When we got here a store employee opened the doors to tell about 6 waiting customers they they open at 11am. I'm upset because you have to pay to park at 7th and Fig, I live down the street and could've stayed home until 1050. I use to work in the Men's department as an associate - on Fig and 7th - and as my ex-colleagues would say, here's the T(ruth). When I first started, I was trained for a week - which is rare, most of the time, it is less than that. The training was heavily based on how we fold and organize the merchandise. Nowhere in the training were we explained how to interact with the customers. I am sure it's assumed by management that each associate should have some common sense on how to interact with potential shoppers yet we aren't taught how to do it the ZARA way. New employees at Zara are kind, welcoming, and helpful. However, as your time accumulates there, you start to dislike the unorganized customers among other stuff. I understand that customers should always be considered "right," and everyone has their own style of shopping, but often you get a gaggle of people who demand more than they're entitled to and as a result, you make the employees hate their job. Management is functional but can be improved. Vanessa, the men's department manager, is a wonderful woman who can be demanding. She may be obsessive about making money but who can blame her, it is a business at the end of the day. She is flexible to work with your schedule, especially if you're a student. She takes care of her employees that work. Anthony, the men's department assistant manager, is a seasoned manager. He may look young and he may look cold- at times- but he's a friendly man who knows how to run the store since he has been working at Zara for some time now. Do you work, and you'll be great. Dijon, the women's department manager, is like a lingering-watchman-phantom. He's a helpful man but when he helps, he's on you to see if you do it well. Most of my ex-colleagues detest this behavior but can't really do anything about it since he's the boss. Overall, he's a friendly man during breaks but improvement can be made. I'd like to think it's because he's young and not seasoned enough but time will tell. (Dijon, if you read this, work on it. No harm intended, it's just, your employees are afraid to tell you.) Britney, the women's department assistant manager, is cool-beans. Idna, the children's department manager, she's dope. She can be unorganized but this woman can make you laugh with the side-sass she has to say about anything. She's less restrictive but nonetheless still has manger behavior. Working at Zara is nice. It's a great place to work at if you need the easy cash (plus commission). It doesn't really involve a lot of brain work. Once you get the hang of it, you're set - just like most retail jobs. If you do decide to work here, get some good walking shoes. AND please, don't be too unorganized, shoppers. This is just some advice for any store. read more

Wow, what an awesome place to shop for trendy clothes at the FigAt7th mall which I also really like. You have Target, a food court and clothing all in one area near USC. Parking is extremely reasonable ($1 first hour validated and just $2.50 second hour validated). Everything is so fashionable but reasonably priced. I got a couple pants, one of those long shirts, a pair of shorts and a short-sleeve button up. It's nice and clean inside but a relatively small area compared to a department store. Waiting areas can take a little longer and I'm not a super big fan of the way it's set up with those cloth curtains but it does the job. Overall, I really like the urban and hip look combined with the quality of a lot of the fabrics. The one at South Coast Plaza in OC is way cooler but Zara is a win regardless of location as I keep finding awesome things to purchase. read more

Keep your receipt !!!! I was recently given a top from Zara and wanted to exchange it for something else. I returned it to the grove store, stood in line for ages only to be told that if I didnt have a receipt they would NOT give store credit and would NOT even exchange it. The item had all the tags on and has never been worn. The only thing they would do is change it for another size but it had to be the same item. I have never heard of this policy in any other store. I will never risk purchasing from here again especially if the item is given as a gift, as this was. read more

This location is pretty awful. Everyone who works at the store tells you the cashier will be with you shortly while you're waiting around, but all you do is wait for the cashier. So, if you love waiting around to pay for your items on a slow day, this location is for you. If you ask the cashier how's she doing, she'll tell you "I'm sick.".....Please don't come into work sick and get all of your customers sick. Dumb. Also, please don't have merchandise out on the floor that's stained. Especially if you're not going to offer a discount on your damaged merchandise. Two stars because the store is clean (except when there's a sale ) I come to this location at least once a week because I live a block away. I've never had a staff member ask me if I needed help, I actually never see any staff on the floor only the registers and fitting rooms. Almost every time I purchase something they leave the security tags on and sometimes I don't find out until I get home. They really need more staff or better trained staff. People working here seem miserable and don't even make eye contact with you. read more

All the years i have shopped at Zara and this store #6493 has got to be the worst. I went to return/exchange a pair of jeans i bought the week prior. The girl looked at them and said "i cant take them because the look worn" . I responded "i only tried them on and I didnt wear them anywhere. The tags were still attached in perfect condition. Before i could finish my sentence she walked over to her manager who came back without by simply repeating what her employee said to me. I asked her to look at the tags and look at the jeans and she refused to and repeated the same thing as if i didnt understand the first time. I asked to be speak to someone above her and she said there is no one else. I asked for her name and she refused. She then proceeded to tell me there was other people in line and the cashier had to move on. Then she walked away!! Honestly, the treatment i received was so unacceptable. I remained calm for the sake of my 3 year old who was with me. I asked the employee where the store number was and as i continued to speak she said she was going to call security!!!!!!!! Seriously? What did i other than try to explain to them those jeans havent been worn? They honestly try to protect their sales by refusing all returns which is not okay. I will DEFINITELY be calling corporate until this is resolved. No customer should EVER be treated like this over a simple return or exchange. read more
