Egg and cheese on an everything bagel
    michael a.

My go to here is the egg and cheese on an everything bagel I go here usually around 430am when they open so the bagels are pretty fresh the egg and cheese is ok it's pretty made they just put it on the bagel and toast it. The service is good there's always just one guy working there when I go but he's very nice even if he's overwhelmed with customers. The ambience is that of a train station because that's where it is. You will constantly get asked for money by the homeless that are there other than that there's no other problems

    Bacon egg and cheese bagel
    Sina S.

Stopped for a breakfast sandwich after picking up my mobile coffee order. About $7 for the sandwich on an everything bagel. It was decent. Bagel was fresh. I would have preferred crispier bacon and it didn't have much egg. Served its purpose: quick small breakfast before a big lunch later. They have pastries and coffee too. Quick service on a Saturday in a train station. Directly across from a hotel with only one restaurant, so a convenient location for guests.

    Waiting for the PATH
    Michelle R.

We were heading out to the World Trade Center and needed a quick breakfast. I didn't realize that the PATH won't allow you to eat on the train but my group of 14 was able to get a muffin, bagel or pastry to go within 10 minutes. There was a homeless/ panhandler begging for money, and the staff did their best to tell the woman to go away. I guess it was on deaf ears because the beggar kept pestering us. I would stop here again. The coffee was hot and decent, and my bagel was nice and full of cream cheese goodness.

I gave away the bananas. The guac was very flavorful - a tad too sour but still very good. The side of broccoli was done perfectly with a bit of flavor and some crunch. The spinach however was maybe the best I've had. Not sure how they made it so good but wasn't simply with garlic. I had a piece of the branzino and thought it was also tasty with a nice fried crunch. The iced tea was perfectly caffeinated but maybe a tad small. It is supposedly unlimited but I didn't take advantage of that. The restrooms were also clean. I just wish they had some lounge chairs in there. Service was fast and diner style. Get what you need and get out of there. No one was rude, but no one was overly friendly. They all did their job and a 20% tip was automatically included. No concerns but thought it would be worth highlighting.

The portions are always great -- big, expect to take some food home unless you come hungry and have a big appetite! Our fave app is the general tso cauliflower, perfectly crisp and saucy. My child's fave is the George's Special. I love to try the specials, this time I tried the pork belly Benedict and OMG it was delicious, whoever invented and cooked it deserves a raise. A great portion and cut of pork belly, on top of their buttery biscuit, yummy poached eggs with a drizzle of chili oil that really sent this to the next level and crispy onions to top it all off. It came with breakfast potatoes but I think a side salad would also component this decadent meal nicely, too. Service is usually good. Ambience is pretty loud with music and chatter but my baby slept right through it. Entrance is stroller friendly which is great. The booths are car seat friendly too if you don't want to bring in the stroller.

As we entered the restaurant, the floors were "crunchy", sticky and tacky. I assume they mopped the dining room with the same mop they use to clean the greasy floors in the kitchen. They don't have high chairs, So we spent most of the time with our toddler in our lap. The sweet tea tasted off, sour almost. Had to give it back to the server because I couldn't stomach it. Had my husband taste it, and he immediately agreed that something was wrong with it. The plastic utensils were such a turn off. We're dining in, is it too much of a hassle to give your customers actual silverware?? Got fish and grits. Potatoes, toast and eggs. Honestly, the only flavorful item on my plate was the potatoes and eggs. Was upcharged to add cheese to my grits, but the cheese never melted. Pre shredded bagged cheese is what they have on hand it seems. My husband ordered shrimp and grits and asked for a side of eggs, but that arrived 15 minutes after we all received our food. Not sure why it took so long so cook up 2 eggs for him. He was also disappointed in his brunch. It was obvious they used frozen bagged shrimp. Probably the 26-30/lb because the shrimp were really small and had the nerve to be overcooked. Workers just seemed disheveled. Not sure what happened to Vondas but it fell off for sure. We're not from Newark and would travel here for years. Not anymore. This is the end of an era, definitely won't be back. Absolutely don't recommend.

The spot was super cute. I asked the lady a couple of questions about the desserts and the one I went with is the lime pie. It came to a little under $7 for a small slice. The hosts Ooooed and Awwwed over the size of them & the unique flavors and when we would normally never pay 5$ a piece for chocolate, we thought they looked like a deal given the "size" and unique flavors. [12 pieces for $59.95] What was delivered was a joke! The total weight of the chocolates was approximately 8 ounces. That made them $120 a pound. They were simply packed loosely in a shipping box, so the box of truffles was shook and shaken all the way to our house and they looked terrible by the time they arrived. So an F for shipping. And the size, well as you can see they were nowhere as large as what was presented, as some were not even large enough to fill the space allowed in their packaging! For the most part they were smaller than a Lindor truffle. So another F for actual portion size in relation to what as presented on QVC. Finally the taste.... There was none. We tries 3, and they had NO real taste. I described them as eating Play Dough...just a weird putty texture. And the killer is 2 of the 3 we tried were hollow and you could see the seam where they constructed them. Yes...a BIG FAT "F" for taste!! We tried to return them and QVC didnt even want them back... So we put them where they belonged...in the TRASH. I welcome the owners of this establishment to prove to us what they offer is actually worth $120 a pound....
