I always have a sweet tooth and wanted to give this spot a try. When I arrived I had to double park because parking is terrible in this area. I walked in and was greeted. The spot was super cute. I asked the lady a couple of questions about the desserts and the one I went with is the lime pie. It came to a little under $7 for a small slice. It's a tad pricey at this location. I paid and left. Nope.....! We saw their Luxury Truffle Collection offered on QVC. The truffles presented there were presented as large enough to be cut in half and shared for 2. The hosts Ooooed and Awwwed over the size of them & the unique flavors and when we would normally never pay 5$ a piece for chocolate, we thought they looked like a deal given the "size" and unique flavors. [12 pieces for $59.95] What was delivered was a joke! The total weight of the chocolates was approximately 8 ounces. That made them $120 a pound. They were simply packed loosely in a shipping box, so the box of truffles was shook and shaken all the way to our house and they looked terrible by the time they arrived. So an F for shipping. And the size, well as you can see they were nowhere as large as what was presented, as some were not even large enough to fill the space allowed in their packaging! For the most part they were smaller than a Lindor truffle. So another F for actual portion size in relation to what as presented on QVC. Finally the taste.... There was none. We tries 3, and they had NO real taste. I described them as eating Play Dough...just a weird putty texture. And the killer is 2 of the 3 we tried were hollow and you could see the seam where they constructed them. Yes...a BIG FAT "F" for taste!! We tried to return them and QVC didnt even want them back... So we put them where they belonged...in the TRASH. I welcome the owners of this establishment to prove to us what they offer is actually worth $120 a pound.... read more

This might be slight exaggeration, but I think this is the only place in the Ironbound, maybe even all of Newark that serves quiches. Not sure if this is an accurate statement or maybe quiches aren't in demand. Whatever the case, the quiche was so good!! They have different daily quiche specials. Absolutely love their passion fruit cheesecake!! I've been back a couple of times just to grab one to-go!! :P I guess for the most part everything is to-go nowadays (covid), but I'm willing to double park and risk a parking ticket for this cheesecake!! [Newark location.] Nice light rooms, nice decorations, nice open kitchen, and helpful/efficient waitress (Thalita) [who apologized for her English (which was way better than my Portuguese/Spanglish!)]. We (two) started with delicious lattes, and then shared the great shrimp soup, a lovely omelette with several add-ons, and a fresh salad with several add-ons. I liked table #10 for the view of both rooms & the action. Nice looking clientele & flow, and clean rest-room. I picked up a couple of brownies, to go, (already wrapped for my grabbing convenience) for my house-mates. Nice a al carte build-your-own scenario, but all that adds up! (Computerized from the table to the kitchen, so there were no mistakes [although they need to update the prices on the (good-looking) website]). I am ambivalent about the "gratuity" [sic] (for table service) being added in (but I wanted to [did] give more than the 15% anyway). I live a little in the past about prices and "worth." It's a little more $ -- but nicer/better -- than a diner (so it was a more special / treat). I think that they have a pasta special on one day of the week... feijoada on another day... and "brunch" on Sundays. I walked upon this place trying to find someone that makes cake pops for my daughters Birthday. Then I saw all sorts of sweets. Although they are a bit pricey they are delicious without a doubt. I ended up getting goodies for my family. For 3 slices of cake and a small jar of caramel the total came to $26... but again worth every penny. The interior decorations is super cute. This is the place for your traditional Brazilian breakfast. Although there are many places in the Ironbound that offer a similar menu, this is the only place that brought back memories of breakfast in Brazil. The wooden chairs and teacup sets reminded me of my grandmother's house. Breakfast on the weekends in Brazil is supposed to be relaxed and enjoyable. Usually, Brazilian breakfast consists of bread, butter and jam, cheese bread, natural juices, coffee, and the occasional quiches and ham and cheese sandwiches. The staff was super friendly and helpful with any questions you have. Service was also quick. We ordered the misto quente (hot ham and cheese sandwich) and vegetable quiche. The misto quente was just the way it's supposed to be. It's a simple sandwich but the quality of the ingredients make the sandwich. There was the right proportion of cheese to ham and the bread was of fresh quality. Usually when you order a quiche the crust is thick and dense. The quiche's crust her was very light and airy. You could taste the crust but it wasn't overpowering. The vegetables was what you tasted when you ate the quiche, not the crust. It was a mix of broccoli, carrots, and spinach, cooked perfectly. As a side note, they also bake all your traditional Brazilian sweets for parties. We didn't get to try any of the sweets, but it looked delicious. I'm glad a spot like this opened up in the Ironbound. I'll be back again for breakfast. read more

My first time trying Brazilian ANYTHING and I was certainly not disappointed. The caramel latte was a welcomed surprise to this traditionally non-coffee drinker, and was topped with these crunchy caramel pearls that put it over the top. I am sure i'm butchering these names, but the cheesy bread/turnovers, chicken and capitula (cheese) tapioca (similar to a crepe), and strawberry cold cake were phenomenal. The highlight of my visit was the brigadeirao truffle, and for someone who is not crazy about chocolate this treat made me reconsider my preferences. Just finished sneaking into the slice of passion fruit cheesecake that I promised myself I would save for tomorrow (1 of 2 slices already in my stomach). Omg! I think this is the one of the best things I've had all summer, it really is the season in a slice. Super delicious! Tart, but sweet. It's hard to try the cheesecake itself without tasting the passion fruit topping. It must be baked in. I also had a slice of Fatia de Torta and two pieces of pao de Queija. I was worried that the cake would be dry because it was down to the last three slices and there were no paper sheets in between slices. But it still shot for it because I wanted some chocolatey deliciousness. Unfortunately, my concerns proved right. It was very dry, but the pudding and icing was tasty, and helped ... a little. I've had the Brazilian cheese bread before at Noches, so I got them for a quick snack. They were already prepared so not a gooey as if you would have gotten them fresh. I have never been to Brazil, but this place gave me a Parisian vibe. However, there was a small language barrier and one gentleman behind the counter did not have his mask on until as I was coming in. Today is my first and last time go to this place. First of all, I am going to just comment on the birthday cake. I ordered a birthday cake for my wife today. The owner was nice and friendly and helped me navigate to pick my cake. I thought it would be a really nice experience. However, its been a disaster!!! Several hours later as agreed with the owner, I went to pick up my cake, they haven't finished my cake yet. Till I got my cake, it did not have fruits and did not have even "happy birthday" on top, which I clearly stated upfront with the owner. So I had to wait for like half an hour till I got my cake. The staff didn't even give me candle, utensils and did not provide any right size box for me to hold the cake. I had to carry it very carefully on the way I drove home. The worst part comes - the cake looks nice from the outside, but we found out that they only put very thin cream on the top and put lots of peanut butter on the cake! When I ordered, we agreed that it should be less sweat and use coffee and some chocolate. Plus, the cake is not fresh and taste so hard. I paid like $120 for this and they used all these cheap materials. NO RECOMMENDED AND NEVER COME BACK. read more
