We arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday. Their menu was showing a Windows error, so I just ordered from what I could see - a grilled chicken sandwich. My friend ordered something he gets on the reg. (I've never been to a Zaxby's before.) We sat down in the dining area, and our food arrived just minutes later. My sandwich was kinda thrown together, like someone tossed shredded lettuce at the chicken on the lower bun, squirted some mayo in the general direction, and threw the top bun on as the server carried the tray away. Not a lot of care in the presentation. It tasted OK - nothing like Chic-fil-a's grilled sandwich offerings, but it was Sunday, so this is the best we can get. They do have a pair of Coke machines that purport to dispense all manner of product, but one was not working correctly, much like the menu system. Needed a re-boot. (I was drinking water, but my friend had to wait for 2-34 folks to finish their soda experience before he could get his drank. I used the Zaxby's sauce to try and add some flavor to the grilled breast meat on the bun that had been tossed in my direction, and it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. It filled a hole in my belly for a few hours. I doubt I'll return. read more

This location is always busy, be sure to drive carefully. It's surrounded by other popular fast food chain so care are coming from all directions. It's September and the drive-thru is open but no indoor seating. They've adopted the Chic-fila ordering method. Someone will take your order and take moment, just drive around to the other side to get your order. Fresh food! I parked in the parking lot to eat. Well/done! read more

It's good overall and im a spice guy the Nuclear sauce is SO GOOD everything is just good but the bread puts this down a star. It's a bit chewy and soft. Which yeah that's bread but it's toast and I was expecting a crunch. But it wasn't even that bad still tasted good. Service is nice overall kinda basic no rude employees all nice. Very nice actually. The vibe is amazing tho they got these lights in December for christmas and they are so nice and it's just a homeie vibe. five stars would come again read more

Been waiting for this moment for a long time. This is one of those bucket list items that I wanted to try so I'm happy I did. I'm a huge fan of exclusivity when it comes to food. For example how you can only get in and out burger out west or wherever is not close to me. Zaxby's can only be found in the southern region of our country (if there are other places let me know). So when I found my self in North Carolina I had to make a stop. I got the sweet and spicy chicken and the cheddar bites. This was a great combination the chicken was cooked to a nice crisp the way I like it. The cheesy knots were pretty good as well the zak sauce was what put it over the top for me. It was tangy and zesty at the same time. Filled me up and then some I had no complaints. Can't wait to come back and do it all again. Carolina I'm coming back. read more

I enjoy the food here, but the problem is they never get my order right. Asked for Tongue Torch sauce and they gave me blue cheese dressing instead last trip. Asker for no blue cheese on a salad on a previous visit and they put extra blue cheese on instead. It is cool when dining in and I can return it for a fix but a bummer when I get home from drive thru and see something is off on the order each time. read more

Saw they had bad reviews but had to stop as I am a zaxby or raising canes obsessed eater. Didnt write a review after my 1st stop but now on my 2nd visit here it is. 1st visit was good just as Zaxby should be. Now the 2nd visit was perilous as the whole block had just lost power. The manager informed us that there was only 1 fryer working but went into the kitchen and worked hard to get orders out. Now to me that is great service as they could have tried to see us only Zalads or grilled chicken. Yes we had to wait a bit longer but it was great!!!! And OMG , I just love Zax sauce read more

I ordered, and paid for, a grilled chicken sandwich combo in the drive thru. I got two pieces of insanely soggy bread holding a cold piece of chicken and a sweet tea; No fries. Although back at work and deliriously hungry, I realized the reciept had a survey number but no store number. *sigh* Googled the number. I called to relay I didn't get what I paid for AND what I got was shat only to hear --- "No manager is on duty. Call tomorrow between 1 and 3." Whaaat?! I was going to eat at the Chick-fil-a, but as usual the line wrapped around the building. Since I was pressed for time, I decided to try Zaxby's. As I walked up, I was somewhat concerned that there was only 4 cars out front. I got in, made my order and was pleased with my service and the speed it was prepared. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. The prices were competitive as well. Sorry, Chick-fil-a, but I have found my new go-to place in North Durham. read more

We ordered delivery from Grubhub, didn't get what we ordered and the phones were down. So we drove over and the manager was so nice. He not only apologized, but made us fresh food. Horrible! Service was awful. The drink area was very messy. After waiting for 30 minutes for our food, it was cold. I ordered 15 tenders and was given 3 sauces. We asked for another ranch and had to pay for it then wait 5 more minutes and had to ask again for it. This was a total waste of time and money. I drive for a delivery service and it's inconvenient that their dining area is closed. I have to wait in the drive thru line, just to pick up an order. The line was at least 15 cars deep when I arrived, which is affecting the amount of money I could make delivering orders. Overall, unpleasant. First I will start off and say we waited in the drive-thru 20 or more mins for our order. Had I been driving I would have gotten out of line, but we were "stuck" as we had already paid. Got the order and pulled off only to look at my sandwich and see it was chicken strips and not the grill sandwich I ordered. Yeah, that was my first and last time going there. I love zaxbys and this one in particular is annoying. When it comes to fast food people not only expects it to be quick but correct. Couple weeks back i ordered a salad dining in and asked for a to go plate later because i knew i would not finish. The girl said ok but brought a small container. Then i asked for a to go salad plate but she said no. I said well where is the manager? She said well i will just bring you one. This is the third time I have gotten an incorrect order. I am not sure if they are not paying attention or if they cannot hear. If they got it together I would probably enjoy it more. Chickfila has much better customer service. When the line is long they go out and take orders and acknowledge your wait. Not this zaxbys. Better luck next time! read more

Stopped at this Zaxbys on my roadtrip with my sister. When we pulled up to the drive through the lady was rushing us to order. Then when they didn't give us any plastic ware my sister went back inside and one employee said to the other "you aint lock the door" as if she was saying why is she in here if we're closed it was very rude. Also, my food wasnt even hot it was warm I got chicken tenders and fries with a lemonade. My sister got chicken tenders and hers were hot she also got a sweet tea that tasted old and it was WARM! read more

If you like chicken this is a decent franchise experience. I like the salads -- good size portion and pretty fresh. The service at this location though is slow with very limited enthusiasm from the cashiers. Smiling is nice, right? Plus it took 2 trips back to the counter to get our order complete. The worse part of my dinner the other night was the music which kept cutting in and out. It was so annoying. The staff acted oblivious. read more

I've been to Zaxby"s all over the triangle, and it is sad to say that the Zaxby's in Durham on Roxboro is the worst in the area. I gave them 3 attempts in case it was a fluke that the wings are really small, and the food is never hot. The Durham location is not worth the money or the time.... The one in Releigh is the best by far. read more

Zaxbys is a chicken joint that serves decent food at a decent price. I came over with a friend. I ordered the sweet and smoky which is a sandwich consisting of two butter toasts and fried chicken with sweet sauce and came with fries and a 22 oz drink for 5 dollars. My friend ordered hot wing that were actually hot. For those heat seekers. The atmosphere was good and service was expected from a fast food place. Overall a good restaurant. I ordered a six-count of chicken wings ($8) and "boneless bites" ($7). For the six-count, I ended up getting a combo ($11) with no drink. Combos come with a drink, but they didn't tell me to grab a drink when I picked up my order. I didn't know I was charged for and picked up a combo until after we got home and I opened the boxes. Also, they asked me what sauce I wanted. I didn't realize sauce cost extra. The menu said "extra sauce" costs $0.25 each. The menu should be corrected to say just "sauce." The word "extra" should be removed - it's misleading. The wings didn't look nor taste impressive. They were cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel wings, like wings from one of those old Chinese buffets. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good/great either. I expect more out of a food truck. I got the wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Here, it's a dry rub (not lemon pepper wet). There were about 8-10 bites in my order, some pieces a little bigger than others. Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz also sells chicken sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, chicken tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, fry variations (e.g. garlic-Parm fries, chili cheese fries), and your standard bags of chips like Cheetos, Funyuns, and Doritos. At the time of our visit, combos were $11 each (includes fries and a drink) and most a la carte items were $6-8 each. Aside from the mix-up with my order, service was fine. Like other food trucks, the business uses Square for transactions so I had my itemized receipt automatically emailed to me. Compared to most other food trucks, Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz is low-budget. It's an old white truck - looks like it was once a taco truck - that shows some wear, especially on the menu with items blacked or whited out and prices stickered over. It's the opposite of one of those shiny, fancy, expensive-looking trucks.

Never seen this much crust and so little sauce/cheese.
