We were there about 2 months ago, got the Asian salad which was delish by the way. As soon as we started eating the salads, a mouse walked by. There was another family near us also. We all stopped eating.. i informed the worker, we asked for refund which we got and before we left the store, another worker came out, cornered the mouse and proceeded to start stomping with the rug over it. We ran out of the store totally grossed out and mortified. I loved that salad and want to eat it but we just cant bring ourselves to go back to that location because of that experience. I think about it every time we drive to Elizabeth City.. felt like management should know. read more

Zaxbys is a fresh of breath air in a small city with fewer places to eat than most. The food is always hot and fresh when I visit. The last time I visited, I ordered a house salad and it was so good. It is a huge portion for $10 and I had leftovers. I would return for their salad, nibblers, or chicken strips and fries. read more

Where are the onsite managers? Where are the fast food workers. Waited 30 minutes for just 10 tenders and they weren't fresh. After that long of a wait and no one waiting in line. A lady asked someone in the back about my order and then they gave me tenders that were just sitting around in the kitchen like what? After 30 minutes I want them fresh. And then to hear someone working say it's teenage high boys cooking. That explained everything. Yall need new people or just close the whole store down. read more

Oh my. Words..escape me. My boyfriend and I stopped in a road trip and wished we hadn't. It took about 10 mins for someone to notice us and take our order. It then took another 20 mins to get out to go food. Absolute zero customer service and felt like a burden to staff. There wasn't enough orders inside or via drive thru to explain the amount of time it took to get our order of a Cobb salad and a 2 tender meal. The 85.6% sanitation score was troubling after I had already ordered my salad and I'm currently debating whether I should eat it or not. The entire place is dirty and we wont be back. read more

Ordered Zaxby Asian Salad in Elizabeth City NC. It was horrible. The dressing was poured on top of the salad and egg roll. By the time I got home and opened it , everything was soggy and wither. Had to throw away the egg roll. Will not buy again From anywhere. read more

Let's start with, I love Zaxby's. Whenever I'm around one I try and stop for lunch or dinner, been to numerous ones in different states, usually they are spot on with food quality and service. This one however had very Horrible service. People that don't want to do anything, the store was dirty, and when asking for something you got an attitude. they also apparently had no sweet tea, for the dining area nor the drive through, Chick-fil-A doesn't run out of sweet tea. The food was actually hot and fresh, so thank you to the kitchen crew, but your front line staff, lazy and annoyed to be there. read more

I am really surprised to see such low reviews. We've enjoyed this location. The food is always fresh, the staff is always friendly, and fast. I would say they need to slow down just a little make sure orders are full together, and correct. We and a a few other customers in around the same time have had order mishaps. What chicken place doesn't carry mashed potatoes? We've been here twice and the chicken fingers (they don't carry any other kind of chicken) is rubbery and poor quality. Made an online order because the line was quite long. There was plenty of seating but after talking with my party of 2 for about 20 minutes I began to wonder where my food was. It wasn't until I got up and looked that I saw my online order not sitting on the counter or rack to pick it up, but instead it had been sitting behind the counter in the kitchen area. I had to ask the cashier if it was mine and she seemed quite annoyed that she had to attend to me. Despite this frustration I was just happy to get my food, that was until I started eating and realized it was lukewarm and I was missing 2 of my tenders. we came in my wife wanted a Cobb salad, lady said we do not have cobb salad without telling us they had the house salad instead. she got the 5 piece buffalo boneless wings, BUFFALO. I really like Zaxby's food and usually don't have any issues with them. This location for whatever reason has got to be the slowest fast food restaurant in the country. The food is great once you get it, but maybe after 20 minutes, I'm so ready to eat anything would taste good. The employees are nice, just slow. read more

As usual zaxbys fails to not only impress, but fails to even rank as average or, quite frankly, tolerable. So ordered the Buffalo chips and half the chips are undercooked or raw. The wings we got were drowned in sauce and generally underwhelming on flavor despite it all. How this entire chain stays in business is beyond me as I've never had a positive experience at any location I've been to. Every now and then I give them another try to see if something has improved and every time I'm left with bad food, bad service and a bad experience. Just do everyone a favor, stop trying and close up shop. You've failed as an individual restaurant and failed as a national chain. The only good part of this visit is going to be leaving. read more

Went there in April of this year. Ordered online and it was pretty fast considering they were busy. Order a signature chicken sandwich. Ate about 1/3 of it, and it was raw in the middle. Got up and told the lady at the cash register and she got the manager. Manager was really concerned and kept apologizing after we said it was okay. They gave us another chicken sandwich that was fully cooked. Would 100% recommend the location though. Staff are really nice and not rude. Will be going back here again! read more

Had lunch there today. First impression: an absolutely miserable cashier. No, "Hello". No, "Welcome to Zaxby's". Nothing. I almost turned around and left. Placed my order and saw some of the employees in the back staring into their phones. Food was ready in five minutes and was outstanding. Zero complaints about the food. REALLY good! The chicken fingers and sandwiches are good here and my wife loves their salads but the food is very inconsistent in taste and temperature. Many times they get the order wrong and serve room temperature food but if you make sure you request it to be hot then it shouldn't be a problem. The fries are really good when hot and the cookies are good too. You will definitely be taking a gamble on satisfaction when going to this fast food restaurant but when it's good - it's GOOD! read more

The lack of cars in the parking lot should have given me a clue. I ordered a buffalo blue zalad with buffalo style chicken. Upon calling me up to get my zalad the kind order taker realized they had sent out grilled chicken not the fried chicken finger like pieces so she sent it back...instead of putting the proper chicken on...the crispy chunks I was craving...they doused the grilled chicken in buffalo sauce and sent it back out. Blech! They also didn't put blue cheese on the BLUE zalad. In this fast growing retail area it is hard for a restaurant to fail but they are trying pretty hard. Sad, very sad. Since it took 20 minutes to get our meal in an almost empty restaurant you would think everything would have been fresh and hot. Not so. I enjoy Zaxby's and everything they offer. For this location I have no complaints about the food except for the one time they forgot something I ordered and I made it home before I realized. Which is my fault for not checking. The food is always the same great taste you'd expect but there's just one thing that bugs me. So when you go to other fast food restaurants and you ask for sauce you can usually get it for free or if you want extra it's maybe .50 cent but for some reason Zaxby's charges for sauce and every time I go through the drive through fully knowing I'm gonna have to pay for sauce they always charge me for it and I pay. Get my bag and start to drive off and I'll realize there's no sauce. It's just the one thing that bugs my soul about this location. Other than that I have nothing else to complain about but just a tip if you go and ask for sauce make sure they put it in the bag. read more
