From the moment I pulled up to the speaker, the staff member was friendly, patient, and clear while taking my order. It's always nice when you're greeted with a positive attitude, especially when you're on the go. The line moves a little slower, but I never felt impatient as the food is always great. When I go to the window, the team is always just as polite and professional. My orders are always accurate, neatly packaged, and handed to me with a smile. The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what I was hoping for.....crispy, juicy chicken and perfectly seasoned fries. It's not always easy to get both speed and quality at a drive-thru, but this location delivered. Excellent service, great food, and a smooth, efficient experience overall. I love Zaxby's! This Zaxby's in Hoover is doing a great job with it's covid precautions right now, and seems to still be having great business. There were lots of customers both in the drive through and dining in (while still restricting seating to every other booth or table.) I had lunch here last week. The staff was very friendly, and I didn't have to wait long for my food. I got the Big Zax Snak meal. The crinkle fries, chicken tenders, and Texas Toast were all delicious while their signature Zax sauce completed my meal and gave me my Zaxby's fix. Hands down as far as chicken tenders is concerned, Zaxby's is the best! Now from time to time, I try to switch up and lean more towards the healthier food items lol, so I decided to get a Zaxby's Cobb salad. In my opinion, Zaxby's Cobb salad is very good to be from a fast food chain. I also feel compared to Chic Fil A's Cobb salad, Zaxby's is way better. On the Cobb, you get eggs, cheese, bacon, tomatoes, cucumbers, fried onions, and cheese. It also comes with a slice of their buttery toast. It's a lot of salad. Almost to the point where I have leftovers. Then you also get a choice of fried or grilled chicken so if you are on even a healthier kick, get the grilled chicken! My husband and I each got the "big zax snack", which comes with chicken, fries, texas toast, and a drink. This is a very filling meal and everything is delicious. Our order was ready fast. They also have one of those big coke machines here that have 100+ drink options. My mom also got a salad which she enjoyed, but the salads cost more than the actual meals so I would pass on those. Honestly, this place REALLY surprised us. It was EXCELLENT and the inside of the restaurant was super nice. It was decorated more like a pricy sit down restaurant than fast food in our opinion- but not complaining! My husband ordered a chicken sandwich plate and I did the 4 tenders with the hot sauce smothered. We also wanted to try the fried cheddar cheese. We spent about $20 for all of it since we got the extra side- which we honestly didn't need there was so much food! I will start with the tenders- at first the sauce didn't seem hot, more sweet, but as you continue to eat it becomes evident that it's much hotter! We also opted for the double Texas toast instead of the coleslaw- my husband used one piece of bread with the tender to make another mini sandwich too. The chicken was really soft and good quality. His chicken sandwich he LOVED along with all the toppings- lettuce, tomato, mayo. The fries with both were a thick crinkle cut and really yummy too! The fried cheese comes with a thick marinara which was really realllly good. The cheese was in little ball shapes, but basically similar to mozzarella sticks. Food is just as good as their other locations around here but their lobby closed roughly 30 minutes early. After ordering on the app with the "pickup in store" option we had to go in the drive thru and I must say I kinda panicked when I attempted to open their doors. They still cooperated just fine and handed me my food after I pulled into a parking space but a disconnect between the app and the store is quite an inconvenience. It was pretty crowded for a late lunch, but we got our food pretty fast and found a small booth. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. I also liked that the workers clean the tables quite regularly and the rest of the restaurant for that matter. I ordered a Cobb zalad with fried chicken. The Mixed greens were topped with crispy fried chicken, red cabbage, carrots, Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, bacon, hard-boiled egg, fried onions, cheddar and Jack cheeses. I ordered the Chicken Finger Plate with 5 fingers (I didn't want the drink, so they reduced the cost by $1) and the Spicy Fried Mushrooms. I took it home and ate some of the chicken fingers with a dinner salad that I already had. The fries, toast, and cole slaw were good as usual. I'd never had the mushrooms before and found them to be very good, crispy, not oily, with big mushroom pieces. My meal was about $11. Easy in and out Chicken fast food conveniently located on my way home. Menu: They offer a variety of chicken finger meals, sandwiches, salads (oops...Zalads) and wings. Typical soft drinks and tea selection to drink. Realy, really good shakes! Probably best know for the Zax's sauce. Pretty good sauce with a little bit of a kick Prices: Not the cheapest for what you are getting. If you get a meal and drink you are looking at $8 - $9 per meal. Quality: Pretty consistent on quality and taste. Overall good taste, really the only downside is they tend to be pretty greasy. Note on the french fries. I think it may be the Styrofoam containers they use (??) but the fries do not travel well. They tend to be really moist and not very crisp when you get where you are going. For that reason I recommend eating inside if you have the time. My Order: Zax's snack pack. three fingers, fries, texas toast and upgraded the drink to a Birthday Cake Shake. Really the highlight of the meal is the shake. Great flavor and decent portion. Overall: I crave these guys occasionally and when I do they can be counted on for delivering a consistent product. On the plus side tonight, the bottom of the container was not covered in grease - that's an improvement. On the negative side I'm unhappy with the consistency of their fries. Sometimes great, sometimes bad (bad meaning no seasoning or swimming in sauce because they're thrown underneath the chicken). Tonight they were disgusting and anyone looking at them would have known they should have been thrown away and not served to a customer. They were dark brown and soaked in grease. Zaxby's follows in the tradition of Tenda Chick, Gutheries, JF Fingers, and all those yummy chicken finger places that came before it. Many of those are no longer around, at least not around Birmingham, and the first time I had Zaxby's, about 9 years ago, I thought they would never be able to compete, but I was wrong. Their sauce (the true measure of any chicken finger joint) is right in line with many of those aforementioned outlets (although no one will ever be as good as Tenda Chick). The product itself is very good, the fries are nice, and the Texas Toast is right on point. Prices are, in my cheapskate opinion, a bit too high, but I remember a Snack portion being $3.50 back in my college days so paying today's $6.00 is probably not as bad as my memory would make me believe. My kids are crazy about it, no trip to Birmingham is complete without the requisite trip to Zaxby's. And given the crowds, they're not the only ones who love it. read more

I'm a huge fan of Zaxby's and I've been for a while. I make it a point to always visit a location any time I'm visiting family back in the South. I live in DC and there are no Zaxby's near. So I was super bummed to go to Zaxby's and be treated so rudely. My sister placed two orders: 1 was a chicken finger plate and the second a honey chicken sandwich meal. I ordered a Zax Club. Her second order and my order came out but we were told there was a hold on chicken that was delaying the chicken finger plate order. During the wait, we noticed other orders being fulfilled that included chicken. So the cashier asked the back of the house for order number 17 to which they replied it had already been given. Our order was to-go and we clearly didn't have the order -- only a recipe showing that it was paid for. The manager was more concerned about looking at his tickets to see if the order had been pushed out rather than clearly see the receipt showing that it had been purchased and not received. He reluctantly made the meal and slammed the food container box on the counter for the cashier to bag for us. He never apologized for the wait or what seemed to be a mistake on their end. Very rude. I do not recommend visiting this location if you want to eat Zaxby's. read more

It's like a Guthries only in that they serve chicken fingers with a mayonnaise, ketchup and horseradish sauce. Similarities stop there. Zaxbys sauce isn't as good as Guthries or Tenda Chick but their menu is far more varied. I've never had anything that wasn't good. Frankly the fingers are on the bottom end of my Zaxbys list. Their Nibblers, Kickin Chicken and Cajun Club are all superb. Chicken salad is also good though one knock on Zaxbys is their bread for the chicken salad is so often a bit stale they must do it on purpose. Crinkle friea are good. Shakes can be really good. Depends on what you like. Drive through and wait time at the counter are both excellent. It's a solid 4+ for me. read more

Fast food chicken. Its good. People have there favorites and this isn't mine but it is good. I wish they would bring back vanilla milkshakes. My son loves this place and like I said I don't mind it.
