As I sat to eat, I gained the knowledge that the cashier cheated on another employee with a customer that was standing at the country. They all joked about it. And they got rowdier by the minute. Was going to be my first time trying Zaxby's but thanks to your ridiculously early closing hours at this location I was locked out 5 minutes after 9pm. Was told through the window I could use the drive up, but since I walked from the hotel directly behind this establishment and it was colder then I was dressed for at that moment, I opted to not pretend I was a car. Since a pedestrian can't go inside at a decent hour and order a meal I went back to the hotel got in my car and drove down to street to what I must assume is your far superior competition Raising Canes. We waited 20 min for service. The cashier ( lady of either African or Jamaican decent with cornrows) at the window not only had an issue with my grandmother asking to split payment, she was also bothered by my grandmother asking her for straws, napkins, and sauce that was suppose to already be inside of the bags. She raised her voice at my grandmother twice and shoved the things we asked for at us. So to be honest the line at Chick-fil-A was so long we opted for Zaxby's. No one was in front of us yet we had to pull up to wait for our food. Zaxby's on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, SC never gets my order right. Tonight for dinner I ordered a Zaxby's Club. Got home and looked in the box to find chicken strips in between 2 slices of toast with a tiny piece of bacon...no lettuce, no tomato, no cheese, and they could've at least given me a full slice of bacon. This is not a CLUB sandwich! And the worst part is that this is the 3rd time they've done this when I've ordered this sandwich... Not long ago, I ordered cheddar bites with my meals in the drive thru. Luckily I checked the bag before driving off because they didn't even give them to me. I had to park and go inside to get them! What's the point of a drive thru if I have to end up going inside anyway?! This location really needs to get their act together. They're losing more and more business everyday. read more

The chicken tender doesn't taste right...it's also to dry unlike canes...canes chicken is super fresh and the meat inside is not dry! Way better then zaxby...now the chicken wing...chicken wing is a joke as well. If ya want some real chicken wings go to wingstop or Bdubs way better obviously cuz those places are made for wings. But then again if you think about PIZZA places the wings are alright but still nothing compared to zaxby...zaxby chicken is straight up not good lol! Manager always yelling at workers, makes me anxious. I enjoy the food but not the service. The only person I felt comfortable speaking to was the pretty asian cashier they normally had on Wednesday's (the reason why I go on that day). I prefer Zaxby's to Raising Cane's because they have a bigger menu variety (salads, strips, wings...) I wish they were open for breakfast, the Nibblers sandwiches make a perfect breakfast. They have great fries but they steam in the container & diminish while I drive home so I try to open the lid if I don't dine in. My son loves the birthday cake milkshake when they have it. Zaxbys is Amazing! I get the big zax snak meal everytime. Compared to Canes, Zaxbys has better tasting chicken. Zaxbys puts some seasoning in the flour of their chicken strips for big flavour! Their fries are seasoned too. Canes does have better toast and sauce... but zaxbys wins on this. They both have great sweet tea too. I order and pay online for fast pick-up but when I arrive they just check the order and start cooking. I was told to pull to the front and they will bring the food to my car without telling me how long it will take. Since the order was placed online 20 minutes ahead I thought may be just couple minutes waiting, but it takes 15 min for them to complete my order. So what's the point of order online? They make you wait much longer than come in person or drive through. They also mess up my order, miscount the chicken fingers and give me all the wrong sauces. What. A. Waste. You can only pick up to go orders through the drive-through if you don't have a drink. I think that's just because they're too lazy to ask you what you want to drink and fill up your cup for you. So I went inside to pick up my to go order and it seems like they didn't even look at the order just the entrées. She handed me two small drinks when I had a large and a medium took over five minutes for someone to acknowledge that I'm still standing at the counter because they were too busy on their phones. I then decided to leave after picking up my order and before I pulled out of the parking lot I decided to double check my order to make sure everything was there, surprise surprise they forgot my side of chicken salad. So going back into the drive-through to ask for my side of chicken salad no no one was answering at the speaker to the lady in front of me when I had just left from the inside knowing they had no no customers in the store or in the drive-through so my question is why couldn't you have answered the lady at the speaker when she told you multiple times she was ready to order. It's sad because the first time we visited this place we really enjoyed it and now I don't think I will return to this location due to the poor customer service especially taking since after all that hassle our fries are soggy and food is cold. read more

Being from North Carolina I have been missing this place like crazy. Luckly saw that they built one in Houston when I went on my most recent road trip. I of course had to stop. Just as amazing as I remember it. 2nd best chicken strips, and best wings I've had in Texas since being here. I'm usually a fan of finding places that are unique and local for things such as wings, but there's nothing I've had that is bad at a Zaxby's. All of the wing flavors are fantastic. I had the wing meal...5 wings (I chose sweet&spicy sauce) crinkle fries, celery sticks, ranch dipping sauce and a drink. The wings were good. The fries are seasoned and yummy. My hubby had the chicken finger plate...5 fingers, fries, cole slaw and Texas toast. We all agreed that the chicken fingers are the best we've had. The birthday cake shake was delicious, the tea was sweetened to perfection and the Texas toast was buttery goodness. The atmosphere inside is family friendly, the decor is comfy and we were able to enjoy our meal while watching the playoff game. The employees were friendly and helpful. I signed up for their emails & got a post card in the mail for a free meal. Got the 3 mini sandwiches & loved them! The chicken is seasoned very well, the bread it comes on was OFF-THE-CHAIN good! I will definitely go back! They lost a star because while they give you a lot of crinkle fries.....they were kind of soggy & needed more seasoning. I feel like ever since this place came under new management or ownership (I know, it's been a while) that it has not been the same since when it first opened and operated. It's still good don't get me wrong, I come several times a month. But the food is not always consistent as it was before. Sometimes wings will be all chewy and hardly edible meat, or a tender is so small and we're surprised when they would count that as one instead of adding another small one to comprise the worth of a whole one. A few times, some of the tomatoes or cucumbers seem like it's on the brink of going bad (you know, when they're extremely mushy) but they throw it in there anyway and cover it up with the crunchy onions. Sometimes it's annoying when there is a long line, and they're training someone, instead of jumping on and helping alleviate the congestion of people, they just stand there. I mean, you can take orders next to the trainee taking orders too, right? They don't need you standing there looking at your nails just so they can take every single order, do they? I mean, you're standing right there, if trainee has a question you're already standing at the register right next to them. Not everyone has all the time in the world to wait for the trainee take every single customer, especially if it's obvious that people are in their work uniforms, on their lunch break. Employee turnover rate is pretty high but what am I expecting?! This is a fast food joint, haha. Old review: This place is excellent !! This restaurant focuses on chicken..nothing else. Tenders, wings, chicken salads, sliders...and sides (mushroom bites, fried cheese ball thingies, onion rings..you get the jist. I come here often, working nearby it's fast and convenient. I either order the Wings and Things which include wings w/preferred level of sauce spiciness, chicken tenders, fries and texas toast. Or, the House Salad w/grilled chicken. I love their Zax sauce. Food was really good. My girlfriend tried to substitute the cheese curds for her fries and was told "we don't do that" by the cashier. Otherwise this is just a much needed upgrade from Canes.
