Don't have a Zaxby's at home so since I had a layover here, decided to stop in for a quick bite. Wasn't that hungry so I ordered a kids meal. I'm small so it's a perfect amount of food for me. The chicken was hot and DELICIOUS as were the fries. Got a Hi-C orange which, come on, who doesn't love Hi-C orange?!?!?! Two thumbs up on the food. I generally avoid Zaxby's due to their use of MSG. BUT last night my pot pie craving was left unfulfilled due to KFC closing early. So Zaxby's is right across the street and has chicken. I got 5 wings (not listed on the menu) with wimpy sauce. I didn't order the sauce on the side but got it that way as it was mostly in the bag when I got home. And who doesn't sell celery with wings?! The "wings" were no more the compressed bits of chicken parts covered with a 10 to 1 ratio of breading! The three cookies were the best part of my dinner. Very good Zaxbys! I stopped in while on a road trip. The restaurant was empty during lunchtime surprisingly. Considering we were a group of 12, service was great! On a road trip I called in to this place as a hungry traveler. I wanted a salad and, have seen such animals advertised on the Teev. So, in I went. It's a nice clean place. "I'll have a Caesar salad and a coffee please" said I. "No coffee" said the lass at the counter, "and would you like fried or grilled"? "Fried or grilled what" I asked, "I want a Caesar salad". "Fried or grilled chicken" she stated. So apparently, I am having chicken with my rabbit food. No worries..."Grilled please" I said. "What dressing?" she responded. Now I'm not a stupid man, but I am sure I asked for a Caesar salad. So, I responded, "What sort of dressing would you normally serve with a CAESAR SALAD?" Okay, so now I am seated in a comfortable booth and my meal is in front of me. I have loads of bits of fried bread masquerading as croutons. Then there is some shredded cheese...at least it looks like cheese and has a consistency of cheese, but, curiously, it has no taste. At this time I note the dressing is in a little pouch on my tray. Interestingly, it has high fructose corn syrup and something which I would normally associate with anti-freeze....and some parmesan flavor. So, I decided not to eat that particular little bag of shit. Therefore I have some grilled chicken and lettuce. The lettuce was very nice, the chicken was okay at best. I arrived at 1130 on a Wednesday and had a great experience. The fellas behind the counter are very kind and helpful. The ladies bathroom was very clean, except the diaper changing station looked like it really need a cleaning (gross). Went through drive thru - ordered $21 in dinner meal for us to share for when I arrived home. Snacked on cheese bites during five minute drive home - turned around as cheese bites were old and hard. Not good - but let's not panic it's just cheese bites! Frustrating - yes. This is on 7/6/19 @ 7:00pm think her name was Terrin (?) she's a manager When I turned around and came to the drive-thru to let them know that I wasn't happy with the cheese bites - an employee, she took the cheese bites from my hand and the window closed with nothing to say as I described that "hi these are old" with a frowny face. When the window opened again I said I would just like my money back they're not fresh. I was surprisingly very nice and patient because today is my Friday at work and I'm in a good mood and hey everybody makes mistakes! But what happen next is absolutely unbelievable. Unbelievable I tell you! I saw her processing a return through the glass window. Finally it opened again she said here you go and handed me three dollars and some change and a receipt. With nothing else to say. Mind you she is the manager. But I didn't know that so I said aren't you going to say anything? She said I gave you your money back what more do you want? Wow I thought to myself. I said I'd like to talk to your manager. She said I am the manager. I said so that's your best customer service skills? Not I'm sorry you had to drive all the way back - I'm sorry we didn't get it right the first time - nothing? She said well I'm not gonna say it the way you want me to say it. I said well you should at least say you're sorry you are the manager. It took all the might she had to say I'm sorry. And she did so while she rolled her eyes and like a curtain the glass window shut on me. I said "there you go! Now was that so hard" but I am absolutely certain she neither heard me through the glass - nor cared. Now that's a shitty manager! Pardon my cursing but get real! What's worse than spending $21 and getting treated this way is when I finally did get home our food was cold so we had to reheat the chicken, the toast was, well you might as well throw that away and the fries you can't really reheat. So thank you Zaxby's Cedar Bluff for a wonderful experience!! And a cold dinner $21 and change later. Not. Mind blown If I owned that franchise that little girls butt would be fired. And I'm gonna make sure to tell everybody I know about my bad experience. AND I'm going to locate the GM & the franchises #'s. Because if this is how I was treated I can only imagine how other people get treated. read more

Probably the worst zaxbys experience I've had. Drive thru was a little slow, but not terribly so, but the issue was the absolute lack of attention paid by the staff. Our food was tossed into the bag haphazardly, my wings looked as if they'd been sauced on only 2/3 of the wing, the fries weren't even close to crispy, and the toast was lukewarm. This crew gets kudos and an apology today. For the second time in a few weeks I ordered a yummy salad. For the second time it was not ready. Today I waited and finally after a 30 min wait, they made my food super quick. I went to contact corporate about the delays and seemingly lost order, only to discover I had ordered from the WRONG LOCATION! Somehow they found my order and got my out, BOTH TIMES with no word of my mistake. Food was great and staff was so busy and found time to make EXTRA orders just for me. I wish we had zaxbys in Maryland it's just so good ! The wings are better than most full service restaurant wings! So big and juicy!!! I love the zaxbys sauce, it's similar to canes sauce. Stopped today for lunch since we were out shopping. The service is always great, but the drive thru is usually slow. We usually get the Nibblers meal which comes with 3 tenders on small rolls with zak sauce and a side fries and a drink. They also have good salads and sides. I decided to try the new Buttermilk Chicken Breast Sandwich right after it was introduced. The actual sandwich versus the advertised product was incredibly different. The sandwich was all bun and an epic fail. There was hardly any batter on it like the pictures represent. Instead, it was almost like a light breading. It was actually so questionable that I drove back to the restaurant just to make sure I received the correct sandwich. There was an apology and offer to make another. However, why would I want another small sandwich?! Not sure that was even a consideration. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't received some small finger sandwich from a kid's meal of some kind. Nope! It was the correct sandwich according to the manager...and, boy, was it an epic fail!! The garlic toast at this particular location is lacking on the garlic too. Long Wait, great chicken. Lunch is crazy busy at this location with a 10 minute line inside and drive through wrapped around the building. If you like it hot get the Buffalo Chicken Plate, it's $11 with a drink but will fill you up and includes crinkle cut fries, cole slaw, and texas toast. Overall it's a decent size meal. So for starters I would like to say I don't ever expect much from a fast food restaurant, and to be fair my food is 99.9% always correct hence the 2 stars. The issue that me and quite frankly everyone I know, has with this establishment is the service. The employees are beyond rude, most of the time not even speaking. With covid being an issue right now only the drive through is open. I am usually met at the window by a younger African American male who refuses to speak to me and just holds his hand out for my payment. I asked for extra zax sauce and got no response, when I asked if he heard me he proceeded no nod his head and go on about his business. My son and I had Zaxbys for lunch today and it was pretty good. The wings I had were fairly small with not much meat on them and over cooked. I have had Zaxbys from this location several times and it is typically wonderful. They left out my toast as well with the order. Of course thats the best part! My son loved his boneless chicken fingers. I love their teriyaki sauce! Their fries are always amazing. The lady in the drive thru was super nice but I didnt catch her name. Given this place four chances ... poorly managed... always a several minute wait in drive through ie like five to ten minutes.... zaxbys salads here were never fresh... had a freeze dried texture all four times and what was supposed to be fresh ice burg lettuce ...
